Do not stop at this hotel it’s shocking !!! Old dirty staff useless no parking

Automated check in needs a little work. Cheap and good location. Room doors have codes rather than keys so they are heavy and make noise when opened, but apart from that peaceful stay Room small side, but still had wardrobe, bath, all facilities needed. TV had Netflix which wasnt expecting.

Lovely welcome! The check in is done online and the door fob is a code you get when you check in. This is my 2nd recent visit and the staff a lovely.

This has to be the worse place I have ever stayed! Firstly the car park was awful round the back of the hotel, limited spaces as most of them were filled with furniture and dirty mattresses. Paid £33 for the pleasure of parking there! Our 1st room was disgusting, no functional window and a blind that wouldn’t close. Mold everywhere and not a bit of the carpet that wasn’t clean. A door that went directly into the room next door, tissue in the hold for the door handle and could hear every word next door was saying. Went to reception to ask for another room but as it was late on they said the couldn’t do anything until the morning. The man on reception tried to sort our blind but it still wouldn’t fully close. Never slept a wink. Went to reception in the morning and was told we had to wait on a room being cleaned. We eventually got this room at 6pm but in the adjacent hotel, and this room was worse than the first one. Was stinking of cigarettes and there was cigarette ash everywhere, the carpet was absolutely disgusting and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Every inch of this room was awful. Worst thing was a used condom behind the bin under the desk. Again went to complain to reception and was greeted by a very rude and arrogant man who refused to assist with anything. Not his problem as he had already given us another room. Visited reception 5 times with complaints and they don’t give a . tried to get refund but was rejected as they said we never told them about our issues! Avoid

It is an older building so the layout is very interesting with lots of stairs to various different levels. It is not tall so never to many stairs to your room. Union street is only a block away and it has everything you want on it.

public areas a bit scruffy. checking in laborious. But once in room, lots of space big comfy brd, very clean and peaceful. So, giid value.

Check-in was pre-arrival online. Simple to do. Recieved codes for checking in. Quite simple and the lock on the actual room door was automatic and seemed very secure. The receptionist was a nice chap. Friendly and helpful. We had an issue with a blown lamp in the room which he sorted immediately. he TV wasnt so easy to use as there didnt seem to be a signal. We did ask for help with this but in the end just decided to read. Which was peaceful. We used the bath which worked well and was clean and easy to use. Also the shower was good. There was a hairdryer in the room and tea and coffee facilities with biscuits. Slept very well. With a location right in the centre of Aberdeen I would recommend this as a very reasonably priced place to stay although overall the building inside seems a little weather worn, but it was a good central place to stay.

Correct info on parking was hard to get before arrival and staff were very impatient.

The OYO is budget, it knows it, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. The price was about fair because the hotel is in a good location for the centre of Aberdeen and the train station etc. It's pretty down by being very tired and in need of a refurbishment throughout. Some carpets were threadbare, light fittings were broken and I couldn't bring myself to shower there for example. There also ISN'T ANY PARKING AT THE HOTEL. It says there is, on a first come first serve basis, on Expedia, and on the website, but there isn't. There's only street parking outside the hotel. It was however quite clean, comfortable, and little good points like three cups and three glasses in a room for three. You'd be surprised how many 'fancy' hotels get that wrong. These saved the property from two stars.

Absolutely disgusting. I had stayed at the Brentwood a few years back and it was fine - had no complaints. On this occasion I was appalled at the lack of cleanliness and services provided with my 4 night stay. The floor was filthy, had never seen a brush or mop in a very long time. As a result, my bed was full or dirt and dust from what was being picked up on my feet. There was no house keeping provided my entire stay, thankfully i had 2 towels to use but I had hoped the bedsheets may have been changed due to the filth form the floor. The shower wasn't in great condition, a clear build up of grime within the door panels and seals. There was other guests hairs dotted around the room. Furthermore, the tv didn't work at all and I was awoken throughout the night by banging of doors in the hall. The plug socket behind the bed was loose which was very concerning! The Kettle plug had been Sellotaped together and had no PAT test sticker on it so it was clearly unsafe to use. I popped into reception on 3 occasions to request a new room, but no one was available so I just had to accept my fate.

This once is very run down and the room had cobwebs and the bathroom had hairs etc. there was a fusty smell. The place needs upgraded.

Disgusting smell in the corridor over the 2 days of our stay; visible dusts on the in-room table; thick marks and dusts on in-room carpets. My young son also got several bits on his head during the stay - not sure what bit, but they should come from the bedding. This is the worst hotel we have stayed in the UK over years. Not recommended at all.

Dirty, ripped carpet. Broken bathroom door. Mirror light in bathroom did not work. Shower filthy with hair on the tiles. TV didn’t work. Mattress very thin. No bar or restaurant (perhaps a good thing). Noisy, people running up and down the corridors all night. Definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Dirty building and rooms. Too hot and bugs all over the bed

Horrible. Doesn't just need an update, its a gut job. Carpet was literally threadbare, pieces of baseboard were missing, built up dirt in the corners, some sort of black film around the edges of the bathtub. No bed bugs, but hundreds of tiny little bugs (maybe some sort of moth). I have felt like my skin is crawling ever since I left. It could have been £0 and still not worth it to stay here.

The bathroom was disgusting, mould on the walls - no shower mat (despite a sign saying to use one), so it was a slip hazard when climbing in / out of the bath to get a shower. There was a very strong smell of curry when you enter the hotel. Overall, whilst admittedly very cheap - it is not somewhere I would return to. I would rather pay a bit more and feel “clean” when I leave.

Absolutely awful. There are two parts to this hotel. Very confusing. Room was very small for a double room. Poor layout. Blinds broken, terrible mattress and small bed for a double. Don’t think room had been cleaned properly for ages. Dust everywhere and glasses had lipstick marks☹️ Only good thing was lovely fluffy towels

Not sure where to start it’s the worst hotel I have in my 48 years stayed in ! Room was filthy, freezing cold and the tv looked like it had been ripped from the wall (it also didn’t work), the WiFi wouldn’t connect and it was smelly. We left within 5 minutes and stayed elsewhere in the city.

The blind on the window didn't work. The carpet was threadbare. I had to crouch down to fit under the shower (I'm six foot tall -not especially big). The room was ok. Staff were fine. It was clean. The location was close to the restaurants, bus train and ferry so that was convenient.

Everything was great except was noisy at night

I was out in a room without windows only a sky light which I couldn’t open! The room was roasting. There was a remote to open the blind for the sky light but every time you open the blind bugs fall out! It was horrible.

Great location close to train station and city centre. Noise from the room above was an issue, creepy floors and could hear other guests and staff talking. Room wasn’t very clean with multiple hairs in the bath and shower. Nice big fluffy white towels though. That’s a plus.

Avoid at all cost. Paid for the room but when we arrived they had cancelled the room as the hotel was overbooked. Apparently they give on a first come basis regardless if you’ve paid or checked in online. Check in was at 2pm and we arrive at 3pm! No apology or help to find alternative accommodation. So far no refund as hotel.com weren’t aware of the cancellation

Our reservation was cancelled last minute the night before our trip. I checked my phone to see our reservation and it was cancelled and this was awful for us. It was very stressful as we had to find somewhere last minute which was difficult. The other place booked was more expensive as well. I know Expedia doesnt have a connection with this but I will avoid to booking with Oyo in future. We had booked the reservation with lots of time in advance so cancelling it last minute is a terrible business tactic because the tickets were currently twice as expensive. Overall terrible experience.

My stay was cancelled by the hotel day before with no reason given to me.

Customer service was awful. Stayed here years ago and it’s gone right downhill.guys in office were hanging over the computer, while another ran up and downstairs to “check “ if rooms were ready. One complained that they didn’t have enough cleaners, yet, they could have lent a hand and helped instead of hanging around there. The entrance lobby was dingy and messy looking. In the morning I went looking for where I could get breakfast and followed the signs, then ended up in a dark downstairs passage. The guy also told us there wasn’t many stairs to our room, yet it was on the top floor, and because we were in for 5 nights, we had heavy bags. Fine and cheap and good location, but I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either

Hotel cancelled on day of booking. Booked over 4 montgs prior. No support or help to find alternative accommodation. Then hotel keep asking for review your stay.

A truly pathetic performance from oyo and hotels.com . My booking had been cancelled so when I turned up late at night I had nowhere to stay and had to go around various hotels looking for a room. I was still receiving emails about looking forward to me checking in. The reception staff were very unhelpful.

No rooms available when we arrived due to maintanance. no pre-warning about that. Had to book another hotel in the city center myself, due to poor service.

We needed a central convienient hotel for a one night stop over. This hotel was perfect for that.

We knew it would be basic but it was sooo noisy. This was from the room above to past midnight. Banging and the could hear the talking. It was very late. The street outside was also noisy with people arguing etc. There is a very large staircase that leads from the station to the elevation of the hotel. There is probably another way to arrive but this was the most direct and it was very difficult. Had to phone a number to get someone to do check out. After the call a person did arrive at the desk.

Nice enough hotel for price paid. Very convenient for shopping, amenities & transportation.
