IntercityHotel Zürich Airport

This is purely an airport hotel. It was clean. The people were not friendly. The hotel restaurant is incredibly expensive even for Switzerland. Food choices pretty bad. There’s a Migros across the street, but you have to practically kill yourself to get across the construction. I can’t believe they have the audacity to make you pay 8 Fr to get a lift back to the airport. The gym has two bikes, one elliptical one bad treadmill, and weight machine that doesn’t work. It’s fine. It’s an airport hotel. Wasn’t expensive. You get what you pay for.

The "free" shuttle is only one way from the airport to the hotel (and not the other way around....they charge 8 Euros to go back to the airport). The shuttle only runs 2 times an hour and does other stops too. The hotel is quite big and I had to walk quite far with my suitcases. I thought the hotel was closer to the airport but it is not. It is not walkable. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

The hotel was easy to find and was very modern and clean. When searching for a hotel, I filtered for a hotel with parking because I had a rental car. I was unhappy to learn when i arrived that parking cost an additional $25. In addition, although the hotel shuttle will pick you up from the airport for free, it charges $8 per person to deliver you to the airport. Just seemed like there were a lot of extra fees tacked on.

Only stay on night before my flight back home, nice hotel, very close to train station, only thing is booking said free shuttle to airport but I was informed only free if they pick you up from airport. We have to pay $8 Swiss francs for each person take us to airport, should have clearly stated that in booking.

It is a nice and quiet hotel, although quite far from the airport. You Need to take bus 510 which goes once a half-hour. The gym is tiny, with 1 machine and no free weights. The steam room was out of order, although the Finnish sauna was nice.

Mosleh (?) at reception was very nice to let me check in earlier unlike his female coworker. The room I was assigned was a long walk from the elevator and didn’t have a good view. The breakfast was the same fare everyday. The gym was small and had very limited machines and equipment but the sauna was nice.

We stayed for one night only prior to catching our flight. The hotel advertised that there is a sauna and steam room, but both were out of order. I read other reviews from previous guests mentioning the same issue. I would’ve picked a different hotel if I knew the facilities at this hotel weren’t in order.

Convenient free shuttle from the airport but charges a fee for the return to the airport. Good noise protection from the busy street and the runway from the airport. Breakfast Buffet was ok but other mealtimes the menu was limited. There was only pay parking available.

Clean, quiete, great saunas (wet and dry). Perfect to relax after a long flight oversee. Pick up at the airport every 30 minutes just outside arrival 1.They will send you directions. Shuttle back to airport something like 10 USD. Will use again.

Hotel was ok the staff was great! We had to keep asking for items since they won’t clean your room unless you ask. The AC in our room didn’t work to well so it was hot then cold.

shower drain was clogged up. it took me 10 min to step out of the shower without flooding the whole floor.

İkinci gün odaya döndüğümüzde, oda temizlenmemiş, havlular değiştirilmemişti. “Temizlik istemiyoruz” şeklinde bir işaret bırakmamış olmamıza rağmen, lobiyi aradığımızda temizlik hizmetinin sadece talep üzerine yapıldığı söylendi. Ancak bu durum hakkında giriş sırasında bize herhangi bir bilgilendirme yapılmamıştı. Daha önce aynı bölgede başka otellerde kaldım ve oradaki hizmet kalitesiyle kıyaslandığında bu otel beklentilerimin çok altında kaldı. Hem fiyat politikası hem de hizmet kalitesi açısından memnun kalmadım.

The staff cleaning at the hotel did not clean my room properly and when I complained, they said if I want better cleaning, I will have to pay them extra !!!??

room floors, applainces were very dusty, staffs were not friendly or smiling, room had a funky smell, expensive parking prices, limited transportation, AC heater never worked. They keep towels right next to toilet flush. How hygienic.

Hallway carpet had stains all over. The blanket on the bed was not big enough to fit a couple. It wasn’t even the width of the bed. The WiFi was not provided in room or on the key card envelope and you had to physically go to the lobby to ask for the password. My husband and I went to the bar and was ignored on multiple occasions to have drinks refilled. I would not recommended staying here unless you want a bad experience.

Bathroom area could be improved. Glass wall could be changed.

Shocking Lack of Privacy – Avoid This Hotel, Especially with Kids I was genuinely shocked by the room design. The wall between the bathroom and the main room is a giant window. When you’re using the toilet or taking a shower, you feel like you’re on display in a shop window. Anyone else in the room can see everything. It’s incredibly uncomfortable and completely inappropriate, especially for families. To make things worse, the hotel charges an additional 8 Swiss francs p/p for the airport shuttle — something that’s usually complimentary at this type of hotel. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I absolutely do not recommend staying here — especially if you’re traveling with children.

Very unhappy the AC did not work. Called to report this and staff of no help. Had to block the bathroom drain as the bathroom smelled of sewage otherwise. Would not stay again.

Great Hotel for the price right at the airport. Bathroom we did not like the indoor wall to separate Bathroom to Bedroom, without putting a curtain you could watch significant other doing their business

Airport shuttle was convenient. Weird see through showers to sleeping area. Slept with window open as air conditioning didn’t work and heard planes taking off and landing

We chose this hotel due to its decent reviews and closeness to the airport. However, there were a few issues. There is basically no A/C as they rely upon some sort of ventilation system that works poorly when there are more guests at the hotel. Of course, it was packed so we were told to open a window which would mean listening to airplanes taking off and landing all night long. Secondly, there was an odd room design where you could see directly through a glass wall into the bathroom. A small curtain was placed over the glass wall but it was too small to fit over the whole thing. So, there is no privacy. Finally, the hotel offers a shuttle back and forth to the airport. However, they bring you from the airport to the hotel for free while charging 8 francs per person for the return trip. Seems a little inconsistent to me. When we visit Zurich in the future, we will be staying somewhere else.

Big rooms and clean. But there was no airflow or air conditioning in our room at all we had to sleep with window open.

The rooms were sound proof and super comfortable- only downside is the bathroom had glass that was half see-through? not sure what that design choice was made for but it is odd. Parking is a bit confusing as you pay at reception for $25 overnight parking- but still need to get a card to go into the parking garage and when you get out the card doesnt know if you paid or not..there should be a better system for that. 10 minutes from the airport which was a plus for our early flight and nearby to gas stations when we needed to refuel the car before returning it.

Very long lines to get checked in. Should have a way to pay the city tax so people can get to their rooms (for those who prepaid).

The hotel itself is well-kept, extremely convenient relative to the airport and the business I needed to conduct. Breakfast is well-presented and easy. However, this time when I checked in, the staff member stated that there was a CHF 65 fee, as I now understand it for early check-in, but he would waive that fee if I scanned the QR code on top of the desk and give them a 5-Star rating immediately. I consider this "Ratings Extortion," extraordinarily unprofessional, and horrible Guest Experience. I gave that rating, as bribed to do so, to avoid that fee...not because they deserved it. Note: extorting Guests to give great ratings in exchange for unreasonable and unwarranted favors is not a great way to sustain or grow a business.

Overall average. The check-in person was unfriendly and he was on the phone most of the time during our check-in process. We did not feel valued.

It was a very nice hotel. Close to airport and had a reasonably priced shuttle. Room very comfortable. It was necessary for us to call the hotel 3 times and each time got the same very rude desk personnel. When we got to the hotel a different desk person checked us in and was extremely nice and helpful. I hope there has been enough complaints about this person that the hotel would fire him because otherwise, the hotel was excellent.

The hotel is very new, staff is helpful and amazing. I love the tidiness and location.

Had high hopes for this property based on reviews. The horrible experience started at the airport. We had called them & they told us where the airport shuffle pickup was. We went, it was raining & cold. Airport sign said there was pickup always at 20 and then again at the 50 minutes of the hour. Well, we waited a whole hour + to get picked up. So many shuttles came by & we asked each driver if they knew where intercity shuttle was & they would say “it’s next” “in 10 minutes” but it never was. We called the hotel several times to a very rude front desk man who didn’t seem concerned & even gas lit us that we were in the wrong pickup spot. Once the shuttle came, the shuttle couldn’t even take the whole group bc so many people were waiting & there were only limited spots. The shuttle ride is also nauseating & poor driving skills by the driver. So we get to the hotel nauseous & around 9:30, hungry, & the front desk staff never apologized for the inconvenience. We did get a free drink voucher at the restaurant.We went up to our room & our shower has a 3 foot curtain covering the transparent wall that would have let your roommate see you in your entirety during the shower. We saw another room that was open w/ the cleaning woman inside of it with a curtain. We told the front desk about this & they didn’t believe us. They said there are none. They switched our rooms but were most concerned if “they could still sell” the room. No apology. Also 6 am vacuuming woke us up.

I had a 15 hour layover and spent the night. The gentleman at the front desk when I checked in at 11:30 pm was fantastic. He gave me advice on where to order food, how to get back to the airport the next day, and even fetched a corkscrew to open the bottle of wine I ordered from ubereats.

Staff was helpful and responsive and the facility was clean and comfortable. Location was near the airport but not walkable to the airport. Have to use a 15 minute shuttle or train to HB and then to the airport.

Modern hotel, very spacious, clean room, very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Hotel shuttle was helpful and on time. The location is off airport but only 10 minutes walk to train station, so it is quite easy to get to Zurich town.

Excellent staff service, unfortunately the road in front of it was under construction, to no fault of the hotel, so it was difficult to cross the road.

We stayed at this hotel for four days in May 2025. The IntercityHotel Zurich is in an industrial complex just outside the airport. It is a basic no-frills hotel with small rooms that is clearly designed for short stays by airline passengers. The hotel staff seemed stressed and were curt at times. With construction on one side and a vacant lot on the other, there is almost nothing nearby. Your restaurant options are the hotel itself, a Subway across the street, a McDonalds, and a poorly rated Italian restaurant in the Radisson nearby. We arrived in Zurich by train from the Hauptbahnhof, and the train you need to take is the S15 train to Rumlang (7 CHF per person). When you get off the train, there is still about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. DO NOT take the Zurich Tram 10 (which we mistakenly did). It also stops at Rumlang, but at a different station about 2 miles to the south. We ended up carrying 80 pounds of luggage down bike trails and across farms in the rain to get to the hotel. IntercityHotel Zurich does not accept cash, so you will need a credit card for everything. The hotel also does not clean rooms unless you request it. The food at the hotel is not bad, but is very expensive like the rest of Zurich. We paid over $100 USD for a chef salad and a one-person pizza. My recommendation is to avoid the 20 CHF per person breakfast and instead stock up on croissants, meats, cheese, etc. at the Migros grocery store across the street.

We were just looking for a place convenient to the airport that was clean, safe and quiet. Intercity Hotel Zurich fit all of those for us. We were also able to pop into the old city centre of Zurich for dinner by walking a few minutes to the train station and were in the center by Banhofstrase within 10-15 minutes times.

Great staff and clean hotel with great breakfast for a cost (worth it in my opinion)

When I checked in online I chose the option to waive the cleaning abd to instead receive a $5 credit for the bar / restaurant which I was never offered upon checking in and receiving my room key. We ate at the hotel that evening and the service was terrible. Incredibly slow and when we tried to get the servers attention he held up his hand to us. When I booked the shuttle online to the airport it showed as costing $0 but upon checkout we were charged. My friend had booked a double room which was supposed to include free shuttle for her and her husband but they were also charged. Would not stay here again.

Limited hours for restaurant and I felt breakfast buffet was overpriced and food cold.

The cost was very reasonable. The room was very comfortable, and the proximity to the airport made it a great choice. We were able to book their shuttle for a 4:35 AM ride to the airport on our way out of Switzerland. The restaurant menu was pretty limited. Otherwise it was a good stay.

The breakfast was not so good, I miss some stuffs and the variety in sheet pastry and also cheese. The cost is CFH 20, a little high for the quality of the goods.

Food was great, dinner and breakfast. Free Internet great. Subway across road which we used for lunch. Shuttle bus on time and good.

Decent hotel, with basic facilities, normally good for business trips. Well behaved and helpful staff....shuttle bus service to airport is very useful and convenient. At CHF 27 per person, the buffet breakfast is expensive for what is in the buffet menu...

The hotel is fairly new and clean. The breakfast has good selection and the staff was friendly. Across the street was a supermarket called Migros and Subway and a small clothing store. Crossing the street to these places was a bit unsafe from the hotel as lots of cars were crossing fast and two lanes in each direction. The bus to and from the airport is good and on time.
