Nice hotel in a great location. Chose to stay here for a concert at Wembley. Minutes from Paddington and the Underground network. Hotel has parking directly outside which was an added bonus for me.

Great staff, lovely room with comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making and a microwave. Room furniture is a little dated. Spa and steam room very relaxing. Breakfast was ok, but I have had better for the price charged.

Second time ive stayed here. Almost great, but the one elevator and having to use it with housekeeping was sometimes a little inconvenient.

Basement room with a fake window. Spa closed at 6pm, was too early.

Fantastic place with lovely staff. Clean and quiet with nice size rooms. The elevator was a bonus as some townhouses don’t and lugging suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. A small fitness centre would’ve made this perfection but I understand that the building footprint probably couldn’t allow this. Will stay again

We had a basement so no window. . Liked the spa good idea. Good if your travelling from Paddington station but quite a small room and no milk sachets.

Room was quiet and staff friendly, we paid for parking on arrival however it was frustrating that none was available as several spaces were taken up by staff cars who didn't offer to move despite us paying for parking. We were told to wait in our room for an hour and then they would call to let us know there was a space, however after an hour still no call. Husband went to check and still no space, so was told to wait another hour, at which point we said we had to go out. We didn't come to London to sit in our hotel room all afternoon! Breakfast was poor, I wouldn't have this again unfortunately. Location is good as it's near Hyde Park and the basement rooms are quiet, but that's all really.

The initial room was very dirty. The "spa" only allows one person at a time and was closed the day I was there. Not a great experience. The manager was very nice and tried to make up for it. The hotel is in rough shape as it relates to amenities and cleanliness.

Lovely little single room with generous amenities, working AC which kept the room at comfortable temperature, friendly staff, good breakfast options. A very good deal for price. A quick stroll from Paddington station - felt very safe even at night. I had to check out a day early due to a schedule change and they were concerned they had done something wrong or I was unhappy with anything. The only thing I was unhappy with is not getting to try their little hot tub spa. Maybe next time!

Room in basement, smelled old cellar, no light.

The hotel is very nice. Staff are wonderful and very informative when we needed directions and restaurant suggestions. Room was perfect and very clean. Close to the tube and trains to Heathrow.

I had asked for a room on a high floor weeks in advance but instead was given one in the basement. Room was tiny and you could hear every movement from the bar and reception above. This hotel is more like the super budget Point A hotels or similar in the area. This stay has damaged the Montcalm brand for me. I was asked if I had a good stay upon check out and after politely explaining why I hadn’t I received nothing more than an insincere apology and fake smile. It’s not terrible hotel and I’m sure there are better rooms but I’ll not be using Montcalm again

I checked into my first room, only to find a crawling worm like bug on the mattress - I was understandably shocked! The rest of the room was ok, though very dark and dusty. I spoke to reception - they came to check the bed and found the same (or another) bug also on the mattress, so agreed to move me. However, they didn't help me with my bags until I asked, there were very little words spoken to me about the situation, and certainly nothing said that would reassure me the same would not happen in the next room (which was only next door to the first room). The member of the team then stood and watched me strip the bed in the next room to check the mattress, still no word of apology for the inconvenience, and also no consideration for my distress, and the fact I was now running very late for an event. The bed in the second room was ok, but not the cleanest I've ever experienced, and again the room was dark and dusty, with other half dead white 'flies' all over the carpet and around the ceiling lights. I had to stay in the room as I had no time to find a new hotel and make my event in this instance, but I barely slept on returning to the room, and left very early the next day. I was really shocked and upset at the lack of care provided by the team, along with the level of hygiene in the rooms - I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Sheets were dirty and badly fitted. Early check in was appreciated. But felt gross to sleep.

Tiny rooms, even by London standards, nothing 5* about the place, electrical fixtures are dodgy, carpets need steam cleaning, woken up after I fell asleep to be asked my name.

Very clean and very modern, room was comfortable and we were upgraded the 2nd night.

The location was great but the sheets were pilled and the pillows were as flat as pancakes. The hairdryer was missing along with hangers in the closet. Room was in the basement which I did NOT like, as it had no natural light. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

The location is great as it's a short walk to Paddington station. We paid extra for a Club Room for our stay and we were very disappointed to be assigned to a room in the Basement. Room is decent size for London. Club Room included 2 waters and cans of Coke but they stuck us in the basement. The one small window was below ground and looked out to a wall and drainage pipes. Basement rooms should be disclosed when you book and discounted accordingly. Paying extra for a Club room and being left in a dark room was unacceptable. We paid extra for breakfast and another disappointment. Coffee from a diner style carafe, not an espresso machine like other London hotels. Limited choices for food. This is a breakfast that would be ok if it was included, not worth the price we paid. I would not stay here again and recommend you choose something else.

Only gripe would be the smell, smelled a bit like cat pee in hallways and stairwell. Oh and the annoying bright green light above the door I guess for safety to show the way to the door, but it just seemed really bright so might keep light sleepers awake.

Nice hotel in good location. Booked single room, which was fine for one night. Room was in basement, so natural light limited and could be noisy as next to a staff entrance. Though room had desk it only had a stool, which made working there uncomfortable. Room very clean and nice bathroom with good brand shampoo etc. Staff professional and friendly. Would stay again, but would upgrade to double.

Not great. Thin, low quality mattress on a wooden bed that creaked every time you moved. None of the plugs worked by the bed. A tired room that needs an uplift.

The rooms and elevator are very tiny in keeping with the style of the building.

The entrance and reception are really good and the staff helpful when we arrived also and excellent and quiet location .unfortunately the bedroom although “deluxe “was far from it . Very small room and bed and other than a small fridge and microwave very basic . There was an ironing board but it was crammed into a small wardrobe . Shower was ok but I would say they were the worst towels we’ve ever had . Breakfast was not the best either ,most of it was luke warm and the sausages were anaemic and once again very cramped around the self service area . Overall it served our purpose but deluxe it isn’t

Had a nice stay,room was comfortable and clean . Staff were welcoming and polite. Great location for Paddington rail services and for exploring the likes of Hyde Park. There was a spa but we didnt use . Only slight disappointment was breakfast ,the tea was tepid at best ,the sausages were not great quality and they were nearly cold. However a good choice for breakfast options and i would definitely stay here again.

Staff were incredibly accommodating as I was a little nervous travelling alone and they managed to get me access to my room earlier. Jeana at reception really looked after me, Peter was very helpful in sorting my phone charging issues and Taj kindly helped with cases. Would definitely stay again.

Although a little small… Husband is 6‘6! We ended up LOVING this place and would definitely stay there again! Very clean! Comfy beds and friendly staff! Location is Fantastic with Paddington Station a 3 minute walk! Great restaurants in the hotel and around the corner! We had great service from Sophie, Shaik & Peter!

My reservation was cancelled on the day of arrival. I was rebooked into a 'sister' hotel about 15 minutes away. After a long day of travelling this was very unwelcome. Looking at other reviews, it seems that this was not an isolated experience. Staff could have made the disruption easier to cope with by preparing directions to reach the new hotel or by providing a taxi. instead they were unapologetic and disinterested.

I was told the room wasn’t ready and had to go to a different hotel

Hotel cancelled our room literally half an hour before we got to London. They made accommodations at their sister hotel all the way across town, but we needed to be close to Paddington because 1) we really enjoy that area and 2) we had to catch a plane the next day and needed easy access to the airport. I had to quickly book another hotel next to Paddington station which was much more expensive since it was for the same day. Hotel Montcalm Chilworth acted like it had done us a favor —- maybe they did!! I’ll never know because I will never book a room there again.

This is a very good property within a short walk of paddington railway station. The staff are excellent. Rooms are comfortable.

Everything was good from a hotel point of view, what let the stay down was very poor communication between reception staff and restaurant manager or restaurant staff, we were told breakfast was served on a Monday until 10:30am upon check in, getting into breakfast at 10:05am we were then told breakfast was closed, however reception staff thought it was 10:30. We were then told to grab a plate and take what’s left, no tea or coffee was available. After a late night we were looking forward to breakfast but unfortunately it was a complete let down. There clearly need to be better communication between reception staff and restaurant staff.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel and the staff truly made it memorable. Shaikh, Umer, and Vlad were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The room was spotless, Highly recommend this place for its exceptional service and wonderful team.

I know that rooms can be small in most hotels in the UK, but this was one of the worst I’ve seen. Beyond cramped. My first room was in a basement where neither wireless nor internet were accessible. The second was so small to make it impossible to walk around the bed. Also, I booked a late check-in and emailed the hotel twice about it. At the front desk they told me they “don’t read emails.” I was also quite surprised that the idea of a paid, late check in could be so foreign for them. All in all, I shall never again visit this property.

Large double room was very comfortable, nice decor and plenty of complementary add on’s eg drinks, fruit and toiletries. Breakfast good value especially if pre booked. Staff very nice and helpful. Located in quite area a few minutes walk from Paddington Station.

The location was perfect for us. 3 - 4 minute walk to Paddington Station trains and Underground made getting around London very easy. As well, the area around Paddington had lots of restaurant and pub locations to choose from, all an easy walk away.

Overall, the hotel is great. The room we had at 4th floor was clean and everything is working. The property is only a few minutes walk from Paddington train and tube station which makes it very convenient to travel all around London and UK. The room is small though but then again, it's London.

I needed an affordable single option for two nights in London before I was to meet with friends at another hotel. The Chilworth was perfect in every category that mattered. I arrived at Paddington Station and it's less than two blocks away - easy walk. This made it convenient for sightseeing and traveling around as both that station as well as nearby Underground stops were literally minutes away. The entire staff was courteous, helpful & cheerful. A reduced rate was offered for full breakfast which I accepted. The restaurant on site was terrific. Breakfast was very good and the dinner menu was fantastic. I had a wonderful curry dish that was so good I ordered it both nights I was there. The room I had was very small but I expected this as I booked a solo/single room. But it was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean; compact bathroom and full amenities in the room: mini fridge, microwave, tea kettle & supplies, safe, iron/ironing board, tv, & very good air conditioning. Additionally, this room had a window so despite being small, I didn't feel boxed in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation in London. I arrived rather early from the airport and it was a lovely treat to be given my room before 10am. I needed a power-nap to get recharged for a busy afternoon -- thank you to the reception staff for accommodating me. Would definitely return in the future. Rating: 10 out of 10 !!!

Absolutely no complaints! I’m a solo traveler, so the smaller room wasn’t an issue. Bath is a full bathroom. Very clean, incredibly quiet, and staff was great. Location is excellent being right next to Paddington Station so anywhere in London is reachable in about 20 minutes. Plenty of food options nearby. Really can’t be beat for the price!!

Nice desk staff. Just far from a five star hotel. The Days Inn around the corner would be nicer, I suspect. Breakfast genuinely disgusting — sloppy reconstituted eggs and seemingly boiled sausages

Very nice staff, super close to Paddington. Indian restaurant inside is very good. Great place, second time staying, will stay again.

Three star hotel not a five star at all. Tiny rooms, clean-ish but apart from a bottle of water and a biscuit (which I could get with a premier plus premier inn) it was no different, if not worse than a premier inn. One lift, took forever. Staff very unhelpful, air conditioning didn't work very well, and the breakfast was in no way five star at all - fruit that looked dehydrated, 4 cereals and the cheapest white and brown bread.

Great hotel, affordable but very clean with excellent, friendly staff. Well appointed rooms. Very good, affordable Indian restaurant downstairs that was also popular with locals (so you know it's good). Would definitely stay here again.

Room was fine. Very small for the price. The but that would put me off going back is that the restaurant downstairs is Indian style cuisine. The rooms absolutely stink of the restaurant by the time you go to bed. Thick smell of garlic, cooked onions, spices. Restaurant smelt nice at 5pm, not at 1am! Stay was ok but would probably look elsewhere
