Modern hotel across from Alnwick castle provided comfortable rooms with everything needed for our 4-day stay. The highlight was the friendly and helpful staff. Food was good but the dining room was rather more cafeteria in decor - lacked ambience.

Superb hotel in perfect setting right next to the Castle and a short walk into Alnwick town centre with its full range of shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay with friends and being a new hotel (opened in May) everything felt fresh and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially the two girls working on the bar in the evening. The bar itself is a perfect way to start the evening and classic cocktails were excellent. The breakfasts were superb too. A bright open dining room with excellent continental buffet and table service of hot choices. My wife and I (and couple we were with) can confidently say that this hotel is one of the best we have stayed in the UK. The price point is also fair and reasonable. Only potential issue (not for us really) is the steps up from the main car park (62). Depending on age and mobility this could prove an issue to some. However, with drop off at the main door of the hotel (bags and less able visitors) I am sure to most that this would only be a minor inconvenience.

Beautiful new place. The room was very nice, shower very spacious. Had afternoon tea here as well and it was delicious, with a great view of the castle. You can relax with hot or cold drinks outside in the courtyard after a day out. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely hotel, right next to the entrance to Alnwick Castle. The hotel itself is lovely, with helpful and friendly staff, lovely rooms (exactly as described on their website), nice relaxing bar. the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We were there for two nights and decided to eat in the restaurant on our second evening. The food was delicious. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand and it was cooked perfectly. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic, with a great choice. The Kipper Hash was a particular favourite of mine. We will definitely go back as there are lots of lovely places to explore in the local area

The different bars all offered something unique but the Garden Room looking at the castle was my favourite. Lovely attentive staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bailiffgate Hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean. The new refurbishment was excellent and the room had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. The hotel is situated in a quiet corner of Alnwick overlooking the castle and yet only 5 minutes away from the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We shall definitely stay there again.

Within 5 minutes of entering this hotel, myself and my partner both agreed that we would be back. This hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff can't do enough for you. The room is clean, beautiful and homely and the views are amazing. Breakfast was awesome too and the location is right opposite the castle. The whole of the town is flat so really accessible. We only stayed for one night and we wish we'd have been able to stay longer!
Within 5 minutes of entering this hotel, myself and my partner both agreed that we would be back. This hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff can't do enough for you. The room is clean, beautiful and homely and the views are amazing. Breakfast was awesome too and the location is right opposite the castle. The whole of the town is flat so really accessible. Wonderful hotel in such a picturesque town. Our suite room was amazing and views of castle fantastic. Food drinks and staff also fantastic, so intend to go back next year again for our anniversary. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for a great time away.

Great location for the castle. Furnished to a very high standard. Staff very friendly. Food served in the restaurant was excellent. Hotel had only been open for just over a week so staff understandably still getting use to processes / facilities etc. A really comfortable and welcoming hotel.

Great 2 night stay at Bailiffgate. Tracey checked us in and was very helpful and welcoming, even helping with our bags (we arrived late in the evening) up to our room. I’m disabled so it was very helpful. The hotel is beautiful, an elegant modern extension to a period building. Very comfortable king bed, super bathroom with a walk-in shower. Wonderful breakfast. The hotel is right by Alnwick Castle and Alnwick is a very walkable town with lots of interesting shops.

Stayed for 3 nights recently. The hotel is very nice and clearly new. Style and furnishings are modern without being pretentious. Centrally located for town centre and castle. On site restaurant was great but there are also plenty of options nearby.
Stayed for 3 nights recently. The hotel is very nice and clearly new. Style and furnishings are modern without being pretentious. Centrally located for town centre and castle. On site restaurant was great but there are also plenty of options nearby.

Superb hotel in perfect setting right next to the Castle and a short walk into Alnwick town centre with its full range of shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay with friends and being a new hotel (opened in May) everything felt fresh and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially the two girls working on the bar in the evening. The bar itself is a perfect way to start the evening and classic cocktails were excellent. The breakfasts were superb too. A bright open dining room with excellent continental buffet and table service of hot choices. My wife and I (and couple we were with) can confidently say that this hotel is one of the best we have stayed in the UK. The price point is also fair and reasonable. Only potential issue (not for us really) is the steps up from the main car park (62). Depending on age and mobility this could prove an issue to some. However, with drop off at the main door of the hotel (bags and less able visitors) I am sure to most that this would only be a minor inconvenience.

Within 5 minutes of entering this hotel, myself and my partner both agreed that we would be back. This hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff can't do enough for you. The room is clean, beautiful and homely and the views are amazing. Breakfast was awesome too and the location is right opposite the castle. The whole of the town is flat so really accessible. We only stayed for one night and we wish we'd have been able to stay longer!

The Bailiffgate hotel was a delight. An elegant, charming yet relaxing place literally steps from Alnwick Castle. The room was clean and beautifully appointed. Would definitely stay again if ever back this way.

Beautiful hotel with a idillic location beside Alnwick castle and a short walk from the town centre. Room was spacious and luxurious and loved the tick down service at night. Bathroom modern with Jo Loves toiletries and enjoyed the coffee and shortbread on the terrace. The different bars all offered something unique but the Garden Room looking at the castle was my favourite. Lovely attentive staff.

Modern hotel across from Alnwick castle provided comfortable rooms with everything needed for our 4-day stay. The highlight was the friendly and helpful staff. Food was good but the dining room was rather more cafeteria in decor - lacked ambience.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. Very quiet hotel, right next to the castle. Everything was beautifully decorated, would definitely recommend!

Beautiful new place. The room was very nice, shower very spacious. Had afternoon tea here as well and it was delicious, with a great view of the castle. You can relax with hot or cold drinks outside in the courtyard after a day out. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely hotel, right next to the entrance to Alnwick Castle. The hotel itself is lovely, with helpful and friendly staff, lovely rooms (exactly as described on their website), nice relaxing bar. the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We were there for two nights and decided to eat in the restaurant on our second evening. The food was delicious. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand and it was cooked perfectly. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic, with a great choice. The Kipper Hash was a particular favourite of mine. We will definitely go back as there are lots of lovely places to explore in the local area

Mum and I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Bailiffgate hotel. The hotel was beautifully appointed and clean. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was really good and the staff attentive. Our twin room was clean and perfect for a 2 night stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

It’s a nice hotel but, at £840 for two night’s B&B, it’s phenomenally expensive for what it is. Staff were polite but the numerous contact calls and mails/ texts before we stayed, and contact points during, always made you feel like you were being upsold. The room was clean but the taps on the bath were wobbly and it was pretty dirty between the bath and the window. The bed was very comfy. The balcony was nice but it did pool water in it when it rained and you couldn’t really sit out - no views and no smoking / vaping allowed. Breakfast was nice - good selection at the buffet part, but I’d expect t nothing less for £25 per person. I would go back, but not at that price!

We had a fantastic stay at the Bailiffgate Hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hotel itself is beautifully finished, combining modern luxury with the character of the historic building in a truly special setting opposite Alnwick Castle. Our Terrace Suite was exceptional. It was spacious, immaculately presented and finished to a very high standard. The private terrace was a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring Northumberland and really made our stay feel extra special. The standout feature, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team we met was warm, welcoming and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel valued from the moment we arrived until we checked out. It’s clear the hotel places a real emphasis on hospitality.
