Aufenthalt für eine Nacht

This is a very cute set of rooms in an excellent location for sightseeing in York. I liked being 15 min walk from the Minster and I recommend attending the 5:30 evensong there. It is therefore also a slightly shorter walk to an entrance to the town wall wall. In addition, it is just a very pretty 12 min walk to the train station. Breakfast was abundant, good quality and delicious. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was bright and clean. I recommend this bed and breakfast.

Disappointed based on previous reviews ​Having read so many positive reviews prior to booking, our expectations were quite high, but unfortunately, our stay didn't quite live up to them. ​The Room ("The Bars"): Very basic. Wardrobe space was extremely limited with only four hangers provided, forcing us to live out of our suitcases. There was no iron available (despite an advertised laundry service), and it lacked thoughtful touches like biscuits on the tea and coffee tray. ​Breakfast Experience: Simply okay, rather than the "amazing" spread mentioned in other reviews. Tables were quite small and were not cleared between courses, making the space feel cluttered. Compared to other York stays, the selection felt lacking—there was no fruit salad, limited jam options, and no marmalade available. Having to use a single self-service toaster also created a bit of a bottleneck during busy times. ​Location & Amenities: The location is excellent—just a 10-minute walk into the city center. The parking was a huge plus, and the staff were kind enough to extend our parking time on our final day, which we greatly appreciated. ​Overall, it's a convenient base for exploring York, but the room amenities and breakfast service fell short of expectations.

Breakfast had funny taste first day, decent second day. Front entrance mat extremely grubby and this is what welcomes you. Peeling paint, dead flower pots and no hanging baskets at front. Carpets dirty around bed, defiant tracks. Couple we was with had stayed there before, said it had definitely gone down hill with all the above mentioned plus they used to have homemade loafs of bread and jams and yogurts where much betțer on the whole seemed to be cutting costs and corners. Bed comfy and clean as was bathroom. Staff pleasant

We spent 3 nights at St. Raphael. A really lovely b&b. Perfectly located for the centre of York being just a easy 10 minute walk away. Was lovely and clean. A lovely breakfast room with a cooked and cold buffet breakfast available. Parking outside can be secured by the owners. They just need your registration number before you arrive. A big thank you to Jamie,Fran and the team for making us so welcome. Would definitely recommend.
