Breakfast was too expensive for a continental style at £14.50. Only 1 pillow on the beds and no evening meal so had to find another hotel. No 24 hour reception as advertised and no fee car park either. Decide we could not stay another night due to poor compliance with advertisement.

Car parking £6 if available but when I stayed it wasn’t You can park on the street after 6 pm if spaces are available Staff very good and very welcoming Good for the price charged and there is a chippy if you walk towards the harbour or a Wetherspoon just down from the hotel

We arrived to find a very reasonable car park opposite that cost us £5 for 2 days . Great value. The check in was smooth and the room for what we paid was excellent value. The bar was closed but this trip was off season so quiet. Ilfracombe we love and has a whetherspoons close by.

We booked the same day on impulse for 2 nights but ended up staying 3. There is parking at £6 a night but only a few places. There is free on street parking further up the hill if you are fit. We didnt sample the food, but if you want breakfast its cheaper to book in advance. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a goid position for the beaches and harbour and tgere is a nice Wetherspoons just down the road

Cheap and pet friendly stay

The hotel was in desperate need of refurbishment. Damp areas on corridor wallpaper and scratched and dirty skirting boards. Clothing hook hanging off shower room door and shower surround grubby. My son's room has no mattress protector. No one manned the lounge bar, you had to go to reception and ask the receptionist to come and serve drinks and wait until they had finished check in no snacks available . Tea and coffee in room but no courtesy biscuit. We were only there for 2 nights to view properties in the area and were aware the room rate was very cheap but had I booked for longer I'd have checked out. Will not return.

The First Lady on reception we felt was really rude and abrupt as we enquired about parking in the car park as the chain was up. The Second Lady was friendlier however did not like how we were told our room number out loud. I worked as a hotel manager for Greene King and it was policy we were not to tell but to show the room number due to safeguarding the guests. Especially if I was a female travelling alone, anyways charged for the dog which we accepted. There was just no personal touch, I had stated in our notes it was our anniversary and not even a happy anniversary. I also noticed if we had booked direct which would have cost me alot more than Expedia we could have had a free room upgrade if available but didn’t want to take the risk of paying and then not, the hallway ti our room 312 smelt absolutely horrendous, first night it was bareabke but the second was like sewage, it was not great. Also a complete mission for anyone wth dogs like myself to ve put on the 3rd floor. Especially with a lift that was tempremental in working. All other dog friendly hotels I have stayed in have had the dogs on ground floor rooms for easy access to outside areas for them to go to the toilet etc. the bathroom wasn’t very clean and there was piles of dust beside the wardrobes, the coffee tray etc. We don’t get away very often due to having kids and after paying the extra £20 dog fee I just felt really really let down. This was our 2nd visit and one of the receptionists recognised us. We were treated well. All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was pleasant although this time we had a view of the backyard. Only criticism is that a large coach party arrived on the Monday, and as thete is only one very small lift we were unable to use it as it was full of cases.

We stayed when temperatures were not particularly high for the time of year and I would not have wanted to be in that room during a hotter spell. Overall the hotel offered very good value for an overnight visit and we would stay again if we return to the area,

Staff were great. My room was a good size ( I had a double room). Curtain was hanging off one side. Shower curtain was also hanging off. Shower was broken, so I could not put it up higher on the pole. Bath mat had mould on the underside of it. Breakfast was nice, with a varied choice of food.

Hotel is disgusting, carpets in the rooms look like they haven't been cleaned in years with stains everywhere. Bed very uncomfortable. Damp stains in the roof. Much of the hallways look like they are falling apart. Everywhere in the hotel stinks of mould and damp. Overall disgusting and very disappointing. Photos look amazing… rooms look nothing like this

We checked in on Friday, we’re taken to our room, after looking around it to our amazement we found the room in very poor condition IE.carpet was old and dirty the skirting boards were covered in dust and dirty ,the radiator had rust on it and behind it the wall was peeling away. The decoration needs to be improved. The furniture was minimal and only one small wardrobe for the two of us. After taking about the situation we decided not to stay which spoiled the start of weekend. In our opinion and seeing our room this hotel should not be open for business.Fortunately we managed to find another hotel tha could accommodate us.

The hotel is very dated but it is a good price, its clean and in a good location. If your looking for somewhwhere cheap to stay and dont mind basic then its perfect.

We were down there for my son wedding , It's totally ruined it for me. I felt so disgusting that I actually cried the first night. And had to go and buy my own antibac wipes to clean the room. Complaint about the room smelling of Urine And That it was absolutely disgustingly dirty.Nothing was done until my husband had to complain.The second time

Excellent price/ value, fairly spacious but basic room with few furnishings, bathroom door oddly very narrow in my room! Very large hotel next to seafront and high street so good location and some free parking available in nearby streets. Would recommend as a budget-friendly option.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on December 30th 2025 in room 330. The reception and breakfast staff were wonderful, however everything to do with the room was awful. It is a very small tired room we found previous guests clothing in the wardrobe, the radiator was luke warm and not adjustable. Shower temperature was luke warm and just trickled out. The advertised garden view was a view of the road and beyond which looked like a building site where rubbish had been dumped. In the morning the view didn't matter as you couldn't see through the condensation running down the fixed window. At 7am radiator was still luke warm and there was no hot water, we could not have a shower or a wash. Having spent 45 years in the hospitality industry I have never stayed in such a poor room it resembles the type of room allocated to live in staff back in the 70's / 80's. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly however the breakfast room was extremely cold as there was no heating. There was a coach party in at breakfast and they were all making the same comments about the lack of heating. Having filled in the hotels survey whilst we were there we were offered a refund by the manager however after contacting them three times this has not happened.

Lobby stunk of cigarettes. Room did every once in a while. Came in from somewhere. Room on street. Car noise. Seagull noise at 4am on. Tiny room. Tub shower. THin walls.

Great location. Big room. Clean But only problem was child safety wasn’t that great. Because the door can be opened by the child easily from inside in the room.

Ok for short stay, noisy drain in road at front of hotel, every time a car ran over it, it was like a gun going off in the night, good breakfast, Ilfracoombe seems to be shutting down, derelict buildings and hotels all around, would not go there again.

Definitely value for money and would use again given its very convenient location to all attractions including the harbour.

Staff were friendly and very professional, nothing was too much trouble for them. They also had good knowledge of Ilfracombe and gave good advice on where to go, what to see, and knew what was happening (i.e. where local bands were playing etc) at night time. My room was clean, tidy, warm, with a lovely power shower. If i had to 'nitpick' i am quite a large person, but, my shower was quite small. However, this would not put me off from booking again and recommend to family and friends. Defiantly a value for money hotel.

Rooms are good and the staff are excellent

The room was very cold, no hot water and no customer care. When we survived the night with a little help from the hair dryer to raise the temperature just above freezing, the breakfast was good. There were however many other guests at breakfast who suffered the same problems. We have no intention of ever returning.

Excellent location, easy and short walk to town and quay. Free side street parking if you can find a space.

Friendly staff, great location for the museum, theatre, seafront and harbour. There is a bus stop right outside for Barnstaple for shopping. We asked if we could have a ground floor room when we booked and that was what we were given. The bathroom was large and very clean. We had to leave early as our granddaughter was unwell and the night staff were very helpful. We would stay in this hotel again. Only downside was the decor was a bit tired in our room.

Lovely destination right by beach and short walk to harbour

Large hotel doing B&B at a reasonable price. Very central to Ilfracombe with easy walking to Tunnel Beaches and the Harbour. Very few parking facilities but Jubilee Gardens car park is close by - busy in summer. The room, facing the street, was in fact very quiet.

Breakfast was good and plentiful and well served, Dinner not so good, selection was poor, probably because l was the only guest for dinner must be difficult to cater for one. The service was good, but selection of menu was not good for me.

A nice hotel, well positioned for walking access to the lower town & harbour area which was great for an daytime or evening stroll & friendly welcoming staff, a clear winner on breakfast, very well cooked, plenty of choice, generous helpings . Overall a clean, tidy hotel, good sized comfortable room, the only let down was the plumbing, struggle to get hot water from taps consistently. Parking a bit limited, but walking around, even out of season, it looked like a problem for residents, never mind visitors.

Charlie and Linda couldn't do enough. Yes the hotel needed some updating up the rooms were clean and the breakfast was good . Will definitely be back .

Entering the warm friendly reception area, you are greeted with smiles and laughter, and the staff are so friendly and chatty, making check in a breeze. The bedroom was spacious and clean, and the shower was large and had good water pressure. Evening dinner was delicious it was a 3-course meal – Fish Goujons for starter and Chicken and dauphinoise potatoes for main and fruits of the forest cheesecake for dessert. Bingo was on the go for the residents after dinner, loads of laughter and people having a really good time. My bed was comfy and a had a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was a full English breakfast and once again the meal was delicious. Ilfracombe is a town worth visiting so many things happening and the harbor is beautiful and of course Verity that is an amazing piece of art work standing at the entrance of the harbor, so much to do in the town and around the town – art classes, chocolate making classes and a History tour of Ilfracombe as well as smugglers talk and ghost hunting. Jump on a boat and head over to Lundy Island to see the Puffin birds and the beautiful scenery. Swim with the seals, off you go on a boat, jump overboard and swim with the seals. Great hiking trails and gorgeous beaches and even a theatre (Landmark Theatres) with some amazing shows across the road from the hotel. Golf courses are plentiful in the area and are definitely a must for the avid golfer, making Ilfracombe and Dilkhusa a place to see. I will be back!

The hotel was well placed for walking into Ilfracombe and the room was comfortable. As it was a large room the bed would be better to have been a king size as opposed to a double. The hotel obviously caters to bus trips and as such the dining was limited to the same, but the food was good and well cooked.

Great breakfast Comfortable nights sleep Hotel could do with an update but for the price i didnt expect the ritz.
