Second time at this hotel in 3 mos and they remembered preferences we had at the restaurant, greeted us by name, etc.... The only complaint was the lack of punctuality twice now with the shuttle. I gave a time to pick us up and both times we waited over 30 min with luggage in the hot sun at the Cap Haitian airport. This is not a huge problem for me, but if I did not speak Creole I would possibly feel uncomfortable. Also, it is sad to see shuttle drivers from other hotels with their little signs getting other people while you stand in the street and wait and wait and wait. Not a great first impression.

I have been to many hotels in Haiti and this one was very good compared to most. First, the positives: The view is amazing! Staff was accommodating (especially the manager and front desk). Room had 24 hour power and intermittent air conditioning (it ran when on generator but not when on inverter). All facilities were clean. Reasonable rates for shuttle to town & back. Now, the negatives: Hotel is a bit dated though they are working to replace old wood and such. Grounds are small (nowhere to really walk around). Pool was under maintenance so no water in the pool (one of the reasons we chose it was for the pool, but not their fault). Food service was SLOW, but we did not get sick at all and everything was TASTY (they eve accommodated special dietary needs). Shuttle service to/from airport was a bit pricey- we paid the same at another hotel for our rooms and it was further from the airport, yet shuttle was included with that one. Overall, we would stay here again in a second and actually plan to do so next time in Cap Haitian. THANK YOU-

Nice setting but the pool was not opened. And to get to this hotel is very difficult. The hotel charged too much for its shuttle. They don’t facilitate clients to go to their facility. The staff is very nice and helpful though.

Check in was quick, staff was very nice. Not all room are same but we got lucky and got a spacious room with a large balcony. Room had a ceiling fan and a floor fan which were very helpful until generator is turned on at 6:00pm for A/C. Note this is basically standard practice at all hotels in CAP. Restaurant is not fancy but has excelIent food and a great view to town. I had a beef "tassot", it was really good and portion was plenty with rice and plantains. Not walkable to any of the main restaurants on the boulevard but the hotel has a few drivers available. They also offer pick-up or drop-off to airport for $30 each way.

Basically the road to this Hotel is terrible, you need to have a good car to get there. The pool has no water, they have promised me that they would put water in the pool but they never did. The guy working at the front desk lied to me about the taxi price to go to Citadel. He told me $150 dollars, later I found out it was $ 100 dollars. They charged multiple times for a transaction, they never returned the money. The ladies working at the bar are very kind. The people who are cleaning are very good people. The only good thing about this hotel is a quiet place but with no fun. Please don’t go there if you’re on vacation and want to enjoy!!!

My stay was ok, the area is not too accessible, staff is very friendly. Food was ok but not the very best customer service is very slow. I think they could add more activities for clients to enjoy their stay without having to leave the hotel. The pool was not available to us. The room wasn’t ready upon arrival had to was for an hour an a half for it to get cleaned. Everything else went well.

La piscine n'était pas disponible durant le séjour. L'eau de la douche n'avait pas de pression à aucun moment de la durée. À notre arrivé la salle de bains n'était pas propre. Néanmoins, le personnel était très gentil et serviable et la nourriture était super bon.

The A/C only runs from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM and from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM. I woke up at 2:00 AM completely sweating to open up the windows and switch on the fans. At 3:00 AM when the A/C resumed, I had to wake up AGAIN to shut the windows. Then, at 6:00 AM, I woke up again for the same reason. I spent my entire night waking up and opening and closing windows. Horrible service.

You can't drive all the way up to the property, the only solution is to get a taxi moto. The staff at the bar/resto are horrible! I went there to order some food, it's as if I were invisible. When I finally got their attention and ordered my food (the steamed fish) they told me it would be ready in 30mins. An hour and 10mins later, I was still sitting there waiting on my food. They haven't even given me an update or anything. When I went there and asked for an update, she went to the kitchen and checked, and apparently, the food was just sitting there; nobody brought it to my table, as if I was supposed to go get my food in the kitchen. When it was finally served it was just cold as ice, and I mean everything: the fish was cold, the sauce was coagulated, the fried plantains were cold and hard, and so was the rice. They charged me US$32 for some cold ass food and some of the worst service I've ever received in my life. Say away from this place!!!!

I wasn’t in the room so I didn’t check in because they give me a terrible customer service so I decided to go to another hotel and then they didn’t give me the money back so I didn’t have any Internet. That’s why I didn’t call you guys cause when you’re in Haiti you don’t have any phone my phone cannot use and Haiti so I need your help guys so I can get my money back.

Nice setting but the pool was not opened. And to get to this hotel is very difficult. The hotel charged too much for its shuttle. They don’t facilitate clients to go to their facility. The staff is very nice and helpful though.

I am disabled and the best room they had was 65 stairs to climb which is nowhere on the website. I asked for another room and there was non available. A young man assisted me up but due to being so high up I could not even go down to eat anything. I had to spend the rest of the evening and morning in room with no access to food. I did not see any free breakfast when I finally went down the next day to check out. I feared something could happen to me and no one would know. This is important information to disclose especially for Disabled and Elderly. : (

If you are driving there’s no way to bring a car on top of hill , I have to rebook for another hotel because it unsafe to drive on top of that hill , the road is so narrow, don’t wast your and your money, nothing you see on the website is real , when I get there I was surprise . The main thing is I did reserve a room with double Beds , someone from the hotel ask me how many people will be sleeping in the room , I ask him why do you ask , he answered if you are by yourself you don’t need two bed , I said I already pay for that room he said he there’s not matter . I went there for sure , for my safety I chose not to stay there . Please people don’t go there . It’s up to you ! Don’t say someone warns you!

You can't drive all the way up to the property, the only solution is to get a taxi moto. The staff at the bar/resto are horrible! I went there to order some food, it's as if I were invisible. When I finally got their attention and ordered my food (the steamed fish) they told me it would be ready in 30mins. An hour and 10mins later, I was still sitting there waiting on my food. They haven't even given me an update or anything. When I went there and asked for an update, she went to the kitchen and checked, and apparently, the food was just sitting there; nobody brought it to my table, as if I was supposed to go get my food in the kitchen. When it was finally served it was just cold as ice, and I mean everything: the fish was cold, the sauce was coagulated, the fried plantains were cold and hard, and so was the rice. They charged me US$32 for some cold ass food and some of the worst service I've ever received in my life. Say away from this place!!!!

I liked almost everything about this hotel. It was very welcoming. The servers and all the other staff are amicable. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the overpriced food and drinks—$ 4 USD for a glass of lime juice in Haiti. C'mon now. Also, the mosquitoes were not that fun. Other than that the place was such a healing place for me. It offers peace, a natural vibe, hiking, privacy, and even more to discover. I wish the artists will place their paintings in a different space, like one of these open rooms in the back area downstairs, and show them like a paid entry gallery instead of leaving them outside to collect dust and rain. Maybe create more souvenirs and showcase other types of art from the locals as well. Anyway, thank you for my time there. I had a great time. The food is also good. The drivers were very helpful. Again, Thank you. I will make this place my home each time I am in town.

Check in was quick, staff was very nice. Not all room are same but we got lucky and got a spacious room with a large balcony. Room had a ceiling fan and a floor fan which were very helpful until generator is turned on at 6:00pm for A/C. Note this is basically standard practice at all hotels in CAP. Restaurant is not fancy but has excelIent food and a great view to town. I had a beef "tassot", it was really good and portion was plenty with rice and plantains. Not walkable to any of the main restaurants on the boulevard but the hotel has a few drivers available. They also offer pick-up or drop-off to airport for $30 each way.

The facility requires some cosmetic support; the rooms don’t do justice to the booking pictures found online, and the pool was still not available during my entire stay. Meals were affordable. Breakfast choices were good. Friendly drivers, very helpful and respectful. The dining room staff can benefit from customer service skills. Overall, it was a safe and affordable space to escape to and shelter from the chaos in Port-au-Prince.

My stay was ok, the area is not too accessible, staff is very friendly. Food was ok but not the very best customer service is very slow. I think they could add more activities for clients to enjoy their stay without having to leave the hotel. The pool was not available to us. The room wasn’t ready upon arrival had to was for an hour an a half for it to get cleaned. Everything else went well.

Travelers, please be aware when booking a room at Habitation Des Lauriers. I made a reservation for my elderly mother and my sister. When my sister checked in the day before my mother arrived, they were assigned a room that required climbing numerous steep steps and walking a considerable distance from the front desk. I immediately contacted the hotel through Hotels.com and explained that my mother, who is nearly 70 years old, would not be able to manage the long walk and steps.
