We had really great visit to the Cotswolds and chose Burford House as our base, which was the perfect choice. The team were warm and welcoming, the room was impressive and clean, the food was excellent (we had two evening meals there as well as breakfast every day, all really good), and both the bar and the courtyard were great places to relax after a day of sightseeing. All in all, a great place to stay.

We had a lovely stay. Friendly welcome and check in. Great character room with comfy four poster bed. Huge bath to soak in as well as separate shower. Excellent breakfast. The only reservation we had was street parking. As soon the shops closed it was easy to park in front of pub. Free parking until 10.30am not an issue. Definitely stay again. Thank you

We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfasts were excellent! Parking in the street opposite the hotel was easy later in the day. It was great value and we would definitely stay there again.

We had already been advised of parking, not to park on the same side of the road as the hotel. We were lucky to find free parking up the road. Reception staff lovely, showed us to our room. Room was spacious with big bathroom. We struggled to find sockets for kettle & charging. When we asked later we were told it was behind the armchair! We had dinner in the garden, lovely area, hot & tasty food. The bar area is great, lots of interesting decoration! We asked for a fan for the room as it was hot and with it being an old building there is no air-con and we were given a new fan which helped greatly. Breakfast was great, fruit salad good and cereal selection as expected. Good selection of cooked offerings. Well cooked and tasty. Points to improve would be better layout in room to allow access to sockets but overall a lovely place to stay.

This old pub/hotel is right on the high street. Although it doesnt have onsight parking we parked across the street which is free, there is also a near by car park. Burford house has a resturant, which serves well presented tasty food. There is also plenty of other places to eat on the high street. Burford house house has plenty of character, our room had a beautiful four poster bed, lead windows overlooking the high street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Burford is well worth a visit.

Friendly small hotel with proper quirky rooms. Bar and restaurant offering good selection of beers including Clarksons Hawkstone lager (Really very good). Pretty courtyard at the back - very quiet away from the bustle of Burford High Street. Noise from the road can intrude at night but we still managed a decent nights sleep in a comfortable bed. All in all a nice hotel in a great spot…would recommend.

A lovely 'oldie worldie' hotel with all the quaintness and quirkiness you'd expect with a hotel in the Cotswolds. Whilst there was no parking at the hotel there was plenty of space to park in the surrounding area. If you like hotels with character this is the place. Each room is different but comfortable for a short stay and the staff are very friendly.

Such a wonderful inn! The town of Burford is a great home base for visiting The Cotswolds. There are coffee shops, bakeries, local stores, antiques, a cute candy shop, a beautiful church and the hotel is a few minutes walk to all of that. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding. The stay comes with breakfast that was delicious and they also serve lunch, dinner, and drinks on the first floor in the restaurant. We stayed down there till 11 pm each night chatting and playing cards like the locals.

Ok, where to start, at £160 a night, we were expecting a 5 star hotel. Staff were friendly, room was cute but soft furnishings and curtains were worn and tired. Bathroom was a bit grim, couple of thick black hairs floating around the place, shower lacking in power and thick with mildew and limescale, shower door hanging off. No phone for reception, no fridge and no general luxuries you’d expect from a 5 star. Hotel not manned at night. Breakfast sausages basic at best, continental part of breakfast basic but fine, no milk alternative but nice man on duty awkwardly offered to “pop to the shop” Day 2, room barely cleaned, bed not made, had to ask for shower gel and a new bath mat. Fruit bowl at breakfast was the same fruit bowl my wife had already picked strawberries and blueberries out of the day before (she’s not keen on melon). We’re trying not to be too disheartened by the hotel, it just feels a bit ridiculous at this point. We would have brought all of this up to staff but it’s a small hotel with the same staff daily and we have to stay another day yet, upsetting staff at this stage didn’t seem the one. Day 3 better room clean today but still not the best, breakfast, unbelievably, was presented with fruit bowl on day 3, remaining strawberries already showing mould. By this point we’ve had enough, we leave as quickly as possible, grossed out by the fruit bowl, we made a complaint to hotels dot com but the hotel were unwilling to make a partial refund, hence review

We visited for our anniversary weekend and did enjoy the original features of the property and the location as there are a lot of cafes, pubs and shops close by. However, the room was tired and needed a bit of TLC. The shower had black mould on both heads and luckily there was a bath however the plug didn’t have a chain which meant I needed to prise it open after use. One window was mouldy and the latch was broken so it didn’t close completely. Although our bed was made after our first night, the toilet paper wasn’t refilled and the bath wasn’t cleaned down so my partner couldn’t enjoy a bath that evening. Overall I wouldn’t recommend especially for a special occasion. I also wouldn’t give it a 5* rating. Quite disappointing.

Great food and service in the resturant but...the mattress was unfit for purpose, it was so uncomfortable that we didnt sleep much at all and the cleanliness was awful. The hotel needs a lot of attention and updating considering its in Burford high street. The window wouldnt close, all needs repairing, the heating was up too high, the shower needs regrouting, the towels had holes and were ripped. The only good think were the clean bedsheets. We wont be returning due to this!! Not worth the money even for one nights stay!!

Situated right in the heart of Burford. Very convenient for shops but noisy and busy with traffic. The hotel has got character and charm. The house-keeping at the hotel let it down badly. It needs a good clean. Had to ask for bins to be emptied, bathrobes to be supplied, tea/coffee to be replenished more than once. Breakfast was good although a fish option would have been welcomed. Unfortunately we would not stay there again.

The good; the staff was friendly and the included breakfast was delicious! The bad; the rug was old, dirty and quite disgusting, the spare blanket was on the dirty floor in the closet and the shower was very slow draining.

We arrived and there were old dirty towels still in bathroom ( in a bin) , had to ask for soap, ( little squirt bottles) gave us one. Carpets were filthy throughout property. Upholstery was dirty. No bed made second morning. Traffic was very loud. This did not meet the expectations of a premium room. Plug for bath had a broken chain, very hard to pull up. Got a key ring from front desk to make it easier. I mean, this is not premium by any stretch. Very disapointing. Plenty other choices, that would be my choice next time. Positives, breakfast was outstanding. Could be so much better

My wife and I stayed for 1 night during our week off for our anniversary. Lovely staff, romantic 4 poster room in a 400 year old building that is kept very well. Everything very clean, small (cute) bar with a good selection of Hawkstone ale and cider. We shared a pizza which was really good, probably one of the best ive had actually and enjoyed drinks in the courtyard garden in the sun. Would definitely stay again!

I booked a wo night stay at Burford House Hotel with my daughter as we wanted to visit the Cotswolds Safari & Wildlife Park which was just a short drive away from the hotel. Our stay was fabulous, the staff were so accommodating and friendly, a big thank you to Rhea for being so efficient and such a star member of the Burford House team. Our room was extremely spacious, large bathroom with shower and bath. The beds were super comfy and at night is was so quiet, a really restful two nights sleep. I booked a wo night stay at Burford House Hotel with my daughter as we wanted to visit the Cotswolds Safari & Wildlife Park which was just a short drive away from the hotel. Our room was extremely spacious, large bathroom with shower and bath. The beds were super comfy and at night is was so quiet, a really restful two nights sleep. We visited for our anniversary weekend and did enjoy the original features of the property and the location as there are a lot of cafes, pubs and shops close by. However, the room was tired and needed a bit of TLC. The shower had black mould on both heads and luckily there was a bath however the plug didn’t have a chain which meant I needed to prise it open after use. One window was mouldy and the latch was broken so it didn’t close completely. Although our bed was made after our first night, the toilet paper wasn’t refilled and the bath wasn’t cleaned down so my partner couldn’t enjoy a bath that evening. Overall I wouldn’t recommend especially for a special occasion. I also wouldn’t give it a 5* rating. Quite disappointing.

I cannot recommend this venue. When we got to our room, which looks amazing, we were very disappointed to find that the hot water didn't work (this seemed to be a known issue). The bed was also incredibly uncomfortable, so much that my wife ended up sleeping on the floor. The staff were pleasant and did offer to let us use the shower in another room but it was a pain to do so. The hotel itself offers so much potential but I would look elsewhere

We had really great visit to the Cotswolds and chose Burford House as our base, which was the perfect choice. The team were warm and welcoming, the room was impressive and clean, the food was excellent (we had two evening meals there as well as breakfast every day, all really good), and both the bar and the courtyard were great places to relax after a day of sightseeing. All in all, a great place to stay.

Breakfast was delicious, with a choice of cereals, croissants, fruit juices, yoghurt, and various cooked options. We didnt have dinner in the pub downstairs but the food looked very nice. Location was in the main high street, with everything you'd need as you step outside. Lots of boutique shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. The Farmers Dog is an 8 minute drive away. Would definitely recommend Burford House

We had already been advised of parking, not to park on the same side of the road as the hotel. We were lucky to find free parking up the road. Reception staff lovely, showed us to our room. Room was spacious with big bathroom. We struggled to find sockets for kettle & charging. When we asked later we were told it was behind the armchair! We had dinner in the garden, lovely area, hot & tasty food. The bar area is great, lots of interesting decoration! We asked for a fan for the room as it was hot and with it being an old building there is no air-con and we were given a new fan which helped greatly. Breakfast was great, fruit salad good and cereal selection as expected. Good selection of cooked offerings. Well cooked and tasty. Points to improve would be better layout in room to allow access to sockets but overall a lovely place to stay.

Staff were very nice and accommodating. They even started the breakfast a bit earlier as I have to leave early for work. Room was spacious with antique decor. Only issue was shower head in the bathroom wasn’t working properly but it didn’t bother as there was bath tub as well. Bed was big and comfortable. TV screen was bigger than more big name hotels and was Smart TV and I used my own login details to use various apps. Parking is on the street. Right outside 2 hours free parking available but after 6 it’s free. If you need to park during the day there are some free parking space further down opposite to post office.

My check in experience was utterly terrible. The staff person was rude, abrupt and unhelpful. I had requested a king in the reservation and followed it up with an email directly to the hotel. The staff person said it was a king when I checked in (which was heard by the person beside me.). It wasn't. When I went to room, I found it wasn't a king. I went back down, and the staff told me that she never said it was a king and that I was lying. She then told me there was nothing she could do.

There are coffee shops, bakeries, local stores, antiques, a cute candy shop, a beautiful church and the hotel is a few minutes walk to all of that. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding. The stay comes with breakfast that was delicious and they also serve lunch, dinner, and drinks on the first floor in the restaurant. We stayed down there till 11 pm each night chatting and playing cards like the locals.

This old pub/hotel is right on the high street. Although it doesnt have onsight parking we parked across the street which is free, there is also a near by car park. Burford house has a resturant, which serves well presented tasty food. There is also plenty of other places to eat on the high street. Burford house house has plenty of character, our room had a beautiful four poster bed, lead windows overlooking the high street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Burford is well worth a visit.

It needs a good clean. Had to ask for bins to be emptied, bathrobes to be supplied, tea/coffee to be replenished more than once. Breakfast was good although a fish option would have been welcomed. Unfortunately we would not stay there again.

Friendly small hotel with proper quirky rooms. Bar and restaurant offering good selection of beers including Clarksons Hawkstone lager (Really very good). Pretty courtyard at the back - very quiet away from the bustle of Burford High Street. Noise from the road can intrude at night but we still managed a decent nights sleep in a comfortable bed. All in all a nice hotel in a great spot…would recommend.

Everything very clean, small (cute) bar with a good selection of Hawkstone ale and cider. We shared a pizza which was really good, probably one of the best ive had actually and enjoyed drinks in the courtyard garden in the sun. Would definitely stay again!

Ok, where to start, at £160 a night, we were expecting a 5 star hotel. Staff were friendly, room was cute but soft furnishings and curtains were worn and tired. Bathroom was a bit grim, couple of thick black hairs floating around the place, shower lacking in power and thick with mildew and limescale, shower door hanging off. No phone for reception, no fridge and no general luxuries you’d expect from a 5 star. Hotel not manned at night. Breakfast sausages basic at best, continental part of breakfast basic but fine, no milk alternative but nice man on duty awkwardly offered to “pop to the shop” Day 2, room barely cleaned, bed not made, had to ask for shower gel and a new bath mat. Fruit bowl at breakfast was the same fruit bowl my wife had already picked strawberries and blueberries out of the day before (she’s not keen on melon). We’re trying not to be too disheartened by the hotel, it just feels a bit ridiculous at this point. We would have brought all of this up to staff but it’s a small hotel with the same staff daily and we have to stay another day yet, upsetting staff at this stage didn’t seem the one. Day 3 better room clean today but still not the best, breakfast, unbelievably, was presented with fruit bowl on day 3, remaining strawberries already showing mould. Such a wonderful inn! The town of Burford is a great home base for visiting The Cotswolds. There are coffee shops, bakeries, local stores, antiques, a cute candy shop, a beautiful church and the hotel is a few minutes walk to all of that. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my stay at Burford House. To start, the shower in our bathroom was very dirty - mold all around the caulking and the door. I get it’s an old property, but old timey charm shouldn’t mean mold in the shower. The second issue was the heat. Obviously the property doesn’t control the weather but only one small window in our room opened. The other problem with that window is that we were situated right on a very busy road. The main road in Burford apparently has traffic at all times of night, so we were stuck between a very hot room or a very loud room. We did not get a lot of sleep. On the positive side, the breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. But overall I wouldn’t stay here again.

Beautiful room in a warm and friendly environment. Breakfast was superb quality and plentiful. Staff were happy and chatty and everyone made you feel very at home. Will def be going back!

Parking is free on the road outside the hotel, the hotel is in the High Street so all shops are very close. Stairs to the rooms are a little steep but not excessive, this is an old hotel be expect creaky floor's.
