Not very good for parking & no disabled entrance. A beautiful beach though, like being abroad ♥️

Lovely sea view room with a comfortable bed. Very friendly staff throughout and made a fuss of my dog at reception. Warm and welcoming.

Convenient to the beach. The hotel room was overlooking the sea, which was beautiful. The furnishings were a little tired. Finding a spot to park was difficult even though they said parking was available, they never explained exactly where it was located which was in the back across a busy road and a very small, tight garage that was difficult to park in, very tight space. Initially the staff did not explain where to park and i had to drive around a one way system 4 times to finally see where it was located.

Nice location in beautiful St Ives. Close to station, Porthminster Beach and a bustling harbour with lovely shops and restaurants. Very nice staff. Large, Comfortable room overlooking sea. Due to hotel only having a couple of parking spaces, the nearest car park was down a steep hill with lots of steps which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Lift only in one part

This Hotel has an enviable position next to the railway station and a 5 minute walk to all buses covering a wide area. We booked a superior room which was comfortable and had a superb view over the bay and cliffs. However, it has many stairs and, as far as we could tell ,only one lift which was reached by 7 steps from reception. So, although the staff were helpful, it did not seem disabled friendly. Some ramps and (weatherproof) wheelchair lifts would assist a wider range of customers and could be done as part of the continuing upgrade which the management are obviously trying to undertake (evidenced by certain hi-tech features such as wi-fi and usb chargers, etc). Reception was not continuously manned as seemingly overworked staff were often carrying out other duties. Patience was needed at times but help was usually available. One thing that would not cost anything is a welcoming smile. So come on St.Ives Bay hotel, widen your horizons just a little more and modernise the corridors and accessibility of your fantastic, but slightly tired building, just like you have the rooms. Thanks for the experience of staying with you. We will be back!

Booked this as a last minute stopover. Had everything we needed for the night. Really comfy bed and had a great night sleep. If you bringing your vehicle we would recommend you get there early and try to park at the Railway Station

For the price the hotel was good value. the location was fantastic and free parking was a bonus too.

Big room, comfy beds, decent bathroom a fan. Free WiFi. Short walk to carpark but steep hill or lots of steps. Ten minute walk into town. Didn't try any food or have our room serviced. Reception staff were pleasant on check in and check out.

St Ives Bay Hotel was an ideal for our short stay in St Ives, perfect location, the room, although a little tired looking in certain areas, was clean, spacious and a great sea view. The staff were very pleasant, courteous and helpful, especially the gentleman that handled our check in. We needed a hotel that was dog friendly, the St Ives Bay didn't disappoint in any way, we even got a spot in the car park. Would highly recommend.

location is very good, but that was the only good part. The rooms, stairways are damp, and a terrible smell of dampness everywhere. The room had a terrible patch of dampness, carpets are extremely dirty . I avoid looking for perfection in my chosen place of stay, but the hygiene level in this hotel forces me to write the truth here unfortunately

Room was small, bed uncomfortable and bathroom was filthy dirty

This hotel was probably the worst Hotel we have ever checked into. So much so that within 10 mins we found alternative accommodation for the weekend. This hotel is horrifically outdated, poorly kept, dirty, very smelly the place generally feels unsafe. The room was horrendous with "clean me" etched into a thick layer of dust on the wall. Unfortunately, I can't give any further feedback as we left as soon as we could, although the person on reception was friendly and warned us the water may take some time to heat up! Don't be fooled by the location and photos! Stay somewhere else or sleep on the beach.

The bathroom windows had mould around it, there was mould on the ceiling. The window in the bedroom was so badly stained it couldn't be cleaned. The room smelt of mould. The carpet was very worn. The receptionists did upgrades us to this room.

This property is tired dated and dirty are room was not even in any pics advertised , was damp and dirty

St. Ives Bay Hotel was in the perfect location over looking a beautiful beach and within a 3 minute walk from the town. It is also only 3/4 minutes from the train station. Unfortunately this hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment. All the carpets are stained, there was dust everywhere, and the curtains need to be replaced. The shower was no more than a trickle. The road is noisy but we expected that and took earplugs. However the staff were friendly and helpful, the bed sheets were clean and the breakfast was good. We didn’t have the evening meal but other guests said it was also good. The WiFi was free and worked everywhere in the hotel. We where told be a staff member there is going to be a complete refurbishment next year to bring it up to a 5star standard.

The room was awful, dirty and grubby. The carpet had big holes all over and was so dirty I had to use the bathroom towels to cover it so I could walk on it!

Quite probably the worst bedroom suite that we’ve ever encountered: bedroom- walls covered in stains, carpet worn & filthy, broken pain of window glass & mould around window edge, top opening window wouldn’t close properly, half a lock on outside of bathroom door, all floor area squeaked, as did above us, next door & hallway, could hear light switches next door; bathroom - mouldy grout, rusty towel rail, rusty bin, tiles at end of bath coming away from bath, silvering at bottom of mirror no longer there, bath plug wrong size; Lots of cigarette butts at main entrance stairs, communal toilets on ground floor dirty, smelt damp, no toilet roll in ladies but plenty on floor. It’s no surprise that you pay before you see the room!

The hotel entrance and room was awful. I wouldn’t leave my dog in the room. The walls were battered and the carpet was dirty and worn in many places. It was cramped. The pictures online do not truly reflect the poor state of the hotel. Shame as it is in a good location but needs complete renovation. We could not stay there and asked for our money back which they did oblige.

I had a single room only. Fairly basic but comfortable enough for a 3 night stay. Sadly the shower pressure too low! Overall ok as a base for a short stay.

Great deal - good for one night - spacious single room with magnificent seaview. Close to trainstation and beach.

The view was terrific, unbeatable from sea view rooms. Reception staff did their best to help resolve problems however I repeatedly asked for food stuff to be removed from the carpet. A lot of this rambling hotel is tired but it’s comfortable and the breakfast was nice.

Beach views were great and rooms were clean and spacious.

Location, Location, Location. Great area close to beach, but it’s a long way down to get on it. Very convenient for the train great way to explore Cornwall without a car. Hotel was ok, very dated. Carpet needs a scrub. Walls need a wipe. Windows inside should not have finger marks. Windows outside bird poop. Great view of sea & beech. Conclusion hotel is a great place sadly needs a makeover. Creaky floorboards from the people upstairs kept us awake.

Probably the worst place i have ever stayed. I had to leave my car on double yellows for 20 whilst trying to find someone who could check me in. The poor night porter was rushed off their feet tending to coach loads of the turkey and tinsel brigade. Why they didn't more staff??? The room was up a dark smelly staircase directly above the toilet. The room itself was dirty with a broken tap, mouldy shower, tv that you couldn't turn down, no chair and absolutely no chance of wifi or a mobile sign. Breakfast wasn't much bet. As someone that has chosen not to eat animal based products my only choices were beans on toast and nuts and fruit. This place was cheap but still overpriced for the conditions. Staff were brilliant and friendly and helpful

The hotel is very very dated. The bathroom was particularly small, we are slender builds and anyone bigger would be very uncomfortable. The beds/mattresses were uncomfortable. The room was so hot and window didn’t open more than 3inches. For £100 per night, expected for comfort all round.

Rooms are dead cheap because the walls are dead thin and you can hear the zombies next door coughing and snoring loudly.

Room view is excellent but room 301 is so hot that I found difficult to fall asleep. It is better if I cant open the window wider and let cool and fresh air into the room to decrease the room tempereture and increase the comfort of residents.

The hotel general was ok. The location was perfect for us to get the the wedding in another hotel. The hotel itself looks a bit dated. The reception staff were helpful, when they were there!

No one around when we tried checking in Had to hunt to find a member of staff

When we arrived, we were greeted by a very rude receptionist. We asked about parking and she said it was full!!. But we could pay for parking down a very steep hill and pay for it!! We said the website said free parking. She asked who we booked with and we said Expedia. She got out a laminate which said on Expedia it says no parking!!! She had one of those for all the excuses, a folder full!!. We struggled with our cases up and down 2 flights of stairs it brought back my sciatica. No offer of help for 2 ladies in their 50's with ailments. The ladies loo downstairs for use by everyone was blocked!! The stairs and communal areas very grotty and rundown. Room was clean but very basic.we left a day early as hotel was so disappointing. No customer service there at all. We met one poor couple who paid £1900 for the week. Very poor hotel for them as he had copd and could not get around the area. They were promised entertainment every night. No entertainment on the first night. There was on the second night which was a last minute srand as the one booked cancelled. Anyway overall it was very disappointing!!!

The staff are amazing at this hotel. The breakfast was great and buffet with porridge/a range of cereals /fruit/yogurt etc. lovely bread too! We had a sea view and it was amazing looking over the beach and the small train . Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel team. Thank you x. We will come again soon. Ps bus stop right outside the hotel to many top places to visit. Train station a few yards away to Penzance, st Erth and more!

A two night weekend stay, quiet time of the year so was allocated a larger room than booked which was very much appreciated. Booking in and out was simple, staff were pleasant and room was clean and comfortable. No complaints, would happily stay here again.

Man behind the desk was very rude. Milk had gone off and could not drink the tea at breakfast. Carpets not clean. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable. Reception constantly had guests complaining about something regarding their stay. Nice location and view out of the window. Would not stay again though.

Lady at front desk on arrival wasn’t very friendly or helpful. Tension between staff in dining room at breakfast time was quite tense, this was because one member of staff was allowing reservations in the windows, overlooking the sea, and the other staff member, ( we totally agreed with, and other residents agreed as well) that it should be on a first come first serve basis. It caused an upset when an elderly couple sat in a window table after being directed by staff, and 15 minutes into their breakfast, a very rude lady went too their table and started being quiet intimidating toward them. Not very good! Staff team should be on the same page with how the restaurant is managed. Plus side was the general manager, was knowledgeable about the area, and helpful arranging taxi’s etc.

Great hotel location with good views over the beach and the bay towards Hayle. Unfortunately the staff were only interested in the coach parties attending the hotel and we felt rather ignored. No mention of bar or restaurant when we arrived or even during the stay until we asked. Room was outdated but a good size. Parking for cars behind the hotel, but travelled in a van so unable to use.

The location with Seaviews ,The price was very good.parking is available at the railway station but it’s a walk and steps.Parking is a premium in st Ives.

Easy walk into St Ives (good healthy hike!) and fantastic sea views from dining room and some rooms.

Staff great, nice bar, superb breakfast, bed comfortable. 5 min walk from railway station and the town. Some parts a little dated but doesn't make the stay worse.

We didn't expect a lot from this stay because the price was very reasonable. The property requires much updating. The room was clean but again required updating. The walls are clearly quite thin which was disappointing as I was disturbed by the neighbours showering in the night and because our room was at the top of the stairwell we had the banging of the stairs door every time someone went through it. The overpriced breakfast was very limited and the staff were clearly quite stretched. Location was good, however the parking was off-site.

We had a wonderful time, but the property was very tired, this included the decoration and facilities. The breakfast was delicious.

The room was dirty with thick dust covering surfaces and air fan in the bathroom, the curtains, mugs and carpets were stained. The windows had spider webs, mirrors and a single picture on the wall were poorly wiped. I was not confortable walking in the room or touch anything. I also asked for a quiet room and had one at the back of the property at street level with loud cars passing by. The hotel manager and staff were uninterested and unhelpful, not a good skill to have if you are dealing with customers. I did try to change my room but I was met with a cold and rude response. While in reception I have heard and noticed other guests complaining about the service. It was a horrible experience for a highly priced room which did not deserved it. I will never stay there ever again. Please don't send me standard corporate apology responses because I will not take notice. A refund or compensation in money would be appreciated (no voichers please) if anything... I understand it's high season but they definitely overcharged for a filthy room no one deserves to stay in. I did not feel safe. I hope this feedback will help to improve health and safety of the hotel if you are going to treat this feedback seriously, perhaps a skilled hotel inspector would want to pay a visit. I don't normally like complain or send feedback but this time it needs to be sent. Thank you.

The room wasn’t clean . To find parking was impossible and the answer was ( to park 10min away) The breakfast was absolutely terrible the scrambled eggs were not horrible and the options on everything else was limited . The wifi signal was good And the breakfast staff was rude

Large lounge areas with incredible views of the bay. Games provided as well. Breakfast had wide variety of foods and drinks to choose from.

Staff were amazing, they couldn't have been better. Room not as per photo and after staff kindly moved us to a room with a bath, Thank-you, the room was very tired. However, the views from 307 are amazing, and we watched the sun raising over the beach. Sundays breakfast was interesting and not up to standard, very sparse. Mondays breakfast was the opposite, quite superb in every way. We travelled with my service dog and the breakfast staff couldn't help enough. Thank-you

hotel in good location, the hotel is very run down and needs renovation. Bedrooms are small, we had a superior room so a bit bigger than average, but still needs updating. Breakfast was limited choice, no pastries offered.

Very dated food awful same breakfast every day no variety just generally very poor and staff are not that helpful. The room was okay but the location was good.
