Rooms were supposed to be ready 5pm, which is fairly late by many hotel standards, nevertheless rooms weren't available until around 7pm. Nice apartments with great views, but no elevators and no help with luggage up 3 floors.

Beautiful loch side views from this gorgeous hotel. It’s a little run down in parts and stair well etc not the cleanest but the room is gorgeous, big and clean. The dinner room is beautiful, fantastic quality food and service. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the grounds are very picturesque. We had the best time! However food and activities are pricey

The self catering accommodation was great for our family of four. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms with a lovely balcony and view across the water. The weather was wonderful which made our stay really special. The accommodation was excellent value for money given we visited during the Easter break, we are already planning when to head back. Lots of things to do including lovely walks, boat trips and even some wild swimming although the water was cold as we were told by some local swimmers that the water temp was impacted by melted snow peaks. Expect it to be at a more agreeable temperature from May. Food at the hotel seemed expensive so we ate locally or dined in as there was a full kitchen. Lots of places to visit to enjoy eating out with the Faerie Tree Inn and their chicken fajitas being a particular highlight. The pool on site was great for families but filled up quickly, there were points where it felt too busy to enjoy but it didn’t stop us visiting it every day! Spa treatment options available. I indulged in a luxurious facial which I would highly recommend. We had a lovely break, plenty of time for adventure and relaxation. Would recommend.

Beautiful location, plenty to do nearby and when the weather was poor, there was the health spa. Slightly disappointed the squash court pictured in the website gallery has two pool tables sat in it (sacrilege to any squash player!)

There were 6 adults and 2 children in our group. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and were more than happy with its condition. It was very clean, spacious and had everything required for a self catering stay, although if I’m honest a 2 slice toaster is a bit of a challenge at breakfast time. 😬 The hotel itself is also very well looked after. We had lunch in the lounge area and the food was great. We used the leisure facilities and had no complaints there. The pool is a great size. The grounds of the resort are a credit to the staff. They are beautifully kept and an absolute pleasure to sit in and wander about. The staff we came into contact with were friendly and efficient. We would definitely love to return to the resort in future.

The hotel is lovely but is run down and in need of a facelift. I cannot fault it on the cleanness. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its location is superb! If you want to play tennis, the courts are terrible and in desperate need of resurfacing.

Beautiful location but hotel is very old and weathered. Pool was broken apparently which was half the reason for booking. Offered us a swim in a place 30 minutes drive away. Food was finished at 8.30 and nowhere close to get anything to eat. Prices were also really excessive for drink and food with no table service in bar even though plenty of staff around. I would say it was a lovely place 15 -20 years ago but it has been let go.

Loved our stay. Theres everything in the apartment you possibly need even a sauna!!!!. There's indoor pool facilities and gym however we didn't get a chance to use it. Loved the view from the room.. so peaceful..would love to visit again..Theres a coop and wool mill nearby. Watersport opposite the site entrance.

It was very disappointing that the pool is shut in a spa hotel! We received a notification that was shut two days after the free cancellation period. Arrived in the hotel and it is definitely not air-conditioned! Facilities are dated and quite disappointing to be honest

Overall lovely hotel and location with great facilities. All staff we encountered were polite, helpful and friendly. We ate in the Garden Room restaurant with our kids and it was more upmarket but lovely food and staff, just more expensive which was expected. One member of staff had a slight body hygiene issue and a dirty shirt which you wouldn’t expect in a more upmarket restaurant but he was very friendly and served us well. We stayed in an apartment which was very spacious and had good facilities like a sauna and corner bath but some things needed upgraded or didn’t work. Our main issue with the apartment was that although it was clean, there were dog hairs on the throws on the beds and this is not good for people who have allergies. My partner has allergies to dogs and it can bring on his asthma. It would be good to have the option of having a room or apartment that is totally pet free but this isn’t the case unfortunately. The changing rooms in the swimming pool building need upgrading but there are a lot of other things to do during the day that we didn’t see.

Stayed in one of the apartments, this is a wonderful place to visit if you just want to be detached from the real world for a few days. The hotel and spa areas were in great order. The only negative for me was the carpet in our apartment was a bit grubby in places - spills that had not been cleaned. Perhaps waiting for the winter cleaning/maintenance programme to commence. Not enough to put me off, will be back in a few months.

Good location and nice apartment except the apartment was very tied and equipment was very worn, rubbish out side room was there for a couple of days and bedroom was noisy because large wimdow on to corridor plus sounds from staff smoking area and servixe area. Enjoyed the stay and good facilities with gym pool sauna and steam room and enjoyed the spa treatments.

The location around the loch was great. The staff was really nice and helpful. The room itself was spacious with two bathrooms. The main bed was hard but good. The second bed was terrible. It was folded away in the main closet in the living room. The mattress was too short and very thin. With a minor investment a good sleeping couch would make it very nice and at least 5 stars. But since the whole purpose of a room is sleeping I have it a lower score. The interior was a bit outdated but very clean, spotless and comfortable.

Mixed feelings. We were wowed by the location, views, gardens, general bar and main restaurant areas. The staff were lovely and the main restaurant food was excellent. Our experience of the bistro food was poor We had spacious apartment (good deal offer), very old and tatty, - ‘heart sink’ moment on arrival to the block. The bed and linen was good quality and we slept soundly. The balcony was dirty and grubby.

The location is very good. apartment is average, old looking and dark. stairs leading up to the apartment was unclean and filthy. Front door key was fiddly and difficult to open most of the times. Sauna was nice and the most important plus point in the apartment.

Surroundings and grounds of hotel beautiful breathe taking. Rooms dated and lodges had mould as well as stained duvets and ripped sofas heating issues which made us lose a night at the lodge since it was cold had to wait for it to be fixed the next day. Not hygienic. Staff especially manager Sam extremely rude and sarcastic. Loved the area thoigh pools and spa lovely clean but rooms and lodges really need sever tlc staff need hospitality training

Lots of things to do including lovely walks, boat trips and even some wild swimming although the water was cold as we were told by some local swimmers that the water temp was impacted by melted snow peaks. Expect it to be at a more agreeable temperature from May. Food at the hotel seemed expensive so we ate locally or dined in as there was a full kitchen. Lots of places to visit to enjoy eating out with the Faerie Tree Inn and their chicken fajitas being a particular highlight. The pool on site was great for families but filled up quickly, there were points where it felt too busy to enjoy but it didn’t stop us visiting it every day! Spa treatment options available. I indulged in a luxurious facial which I would highly recommend. We had a lovely break, plenty of time for adventure and relaxation. Would recommend.

The location around the loch was great. The staff was really nice and helpful. The room itself was spacious with two bathrooms. The main bed was hard but good. The second bed was terrible. It was folded away in the main closet in the living room. The mattress was too short and very thin. With a minor investment a good sleeping couch would make it very nice and at least 5 stars. But since the whole purpose of a room is sleeping I have it a lower score. The interior was a bit outdated but very clean, spotless and comfortable.

Gorgeous grounds and surrounding area. Really peaceful and well placed for scenery. Good on sight playing for children and lovely even if you don’t leave the grounds. The apartments are super spacious and love the indoor sauna and hot tub. A little cold and old fashioned but adds charm. Absolutely love coming here with my family for a little break from the city. Hoping to get a chance to visit in the summer because otherwise it’s consistently foggy and damp being right opposite the loch. This, however, is charming and atmospheric if you like that kind of thing.

Stayed in a 2 bed apartment in this fabulous location. The accommodation was very roomy with a well appointed kitchen and two sizeable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Whilst the large kitchen lounge was bright and airy with a full width window accessing a balcony, the bedrooms only had relatively small windows, making them seem a little gloomy. The bathrooms were functional but somewhat dated with a 1980’s feel to them. One bathroom was in need of some maintenance with a large 1m crack in the ceiling through which the plaster lathe could be seen. There was a small sauna in one bathroom (which went unused). Parking outside the apartments was shared with 8 apartments in the block. This required residents to park with consideration which given the narrow nature of the slots and the generally large vehicles was somewhat problematic when arriving late at night. The location was fabulous with unobstructed of Loch Ard across the extensively wooded grounds. Access to an extensive gym/pool building was free and the gym reported to have a good selection of equipment. Shower screen was hanging off, bath panels were hanging off and the drawers didn’t have runners so were lying squint. The WiFi only worked in the main living room, and at this it kept cutting out. The excellent view from the apartment. The welcome package with dishwashing tablets and cloths and utensils. The apartment was well equipped and had everything you needed to cook a meal. The apartment was cosy and clean. We did feel the pricing of the meal at the bar was expensive for what you received and wasn’t value for money. On the whole the staff were nice and friendly. Rooms were supposed to be ready 5pm, which is fairly late by many hotel standards, nevertheless rooms weren't available until around 7pm. Nice apartments with great views, but no elevators and no help with luggage up 3 floors.

Unfortunately we did not have internet for 3 nights. And despite informing the hotel mutiple times they promised us to fix it the follwoing day and on the following day it still was not fixed which was extremely inconvenient as we had no coverage on our cellphone.

A bit disappointing as had no hot water for first day and a half but receptionist Sam suggested while we waited for maintenance we would be fine as we could use the electric shower. Unfortunately the electric shower didn’t work either and the other 2 showers were mixers so ran cold. Maintenance eventually checked electric shower, door fell off it as he was checking it, and reported he’d have to order a new shower. We had a nice meal in the hotel and the dining staff were fab. But the carry on with the water was pretty poor and we didn’t find that Sam cared at all. I asked for a late check out to which she agreed but she took no initiative at all to offer us any sympathy or compensation - it felt like our issues were an inconvenience to her.

There were 6 adults and 2 children in our group. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and were more than happy with its condition. It was very clean, spacious and had everything required for a self catering stay, although if I’m honest a 2 slice toaster is a bit of a challenge at breakfast time. 😬 The hotel itself is also very well looked after. We had lunch in the lounge area and the food was great. We used the leisure facilities and had no complaints there. The pool is a great size. The grounds of the resort are a credit to the staff. They are beautifully kept and an absolute pleasure to sit in and wander about. The staff we came into contact with were friendly and efficient. We would definitely love to return to the resort in future.

Hotel charges luxury prices but is very far from the mark. Amazing location but the hotel itself could be so much more. Service was awful too, made to wait for an excruciatingly long time for simple drinks, for food and when you have young kids that’s not the best.

Rooms dated and lodges had mould as well as stained duvets and ripped sofas heating issues which made us lose a night at the lodge since it was cold had to wait for it to be fixed the next day. We booked this hotel at the last minute rather than going into Glasgow. It's unique. Hard to describe really. Our apartment not only had a kitchen and three bathrooms, but also a fully functioning sauna. the rugs were a bit dingy but overall it was amazing. the staff could not be more helpful or pleasant. We only ate at the restaurant once for a Caesar salad, and I might skip that. the grounds are stunning as you can see in the photos. A couple things you might want to know. It is VERY remote. it's 20 minutes on single track to get to aberfoyle, the closest very small town. But we did go to Ballard, a bit farther and took the train into Glasgow from there one day, Also wonderful access to Loch Loman and Loch Katrine and Sterling. Also the Expedia website says that the hotel does not have a reception desk and that there is no check in after 7 pm. This is not true. Wonderful reception open all hours.

Beautiful loch side views from this gorgeous hotel. It’s a little run down in parts and stair well etc not the cleanest but the room is gorgeous, big and clean. The dinner room is beautiful, fantastic quality food and service. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the grounds are very picturesque. We had the best time! However food and activities are pricey

The hotel is lovely but is run down and in need of a facelift. I cannot fault it on the cleanness. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its location is superb! If you want to play tennis, the courts are terrible and in desperate need of resurfacing.

Loved our stay. Theres everything in the apartment you possibly need even a sauna!!!!. There's indoor pool facilities and gym however we didn't get a chance to use it. The self catering accommodation was great for our family of four. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms with a lovely balcony and view across the water. The weather was wonderful which made our stay really special. The accommodation was excellent value for money given we visited during the Easter break, we are already planning when to head back. Lots of things to do including lovely walks, boat trips and even some wild swimming although the water was cold as we were told by some local swimmers that the water temp was impacted by melted snow peaks. Expect it to be at a more agreeable temperature from May. Food at the hotel seemed expensive so we ate locally or dined in as there was a full kitchen. Lots of places to visit to enjoy eating out with the Faerie Tree Inn and their chicken fajitas being a particular highlight. The pool on site was great for families but filled up quickly, there were points where it felt too busy to enjoy but it didn’t stop us visiting it every day! Spa treatment options available. I indulged in a luxurious facial which I would highly recommend. We had a lovely break, plenty of time for adventure and relaxation. Would recommend.

There were 6 adults and 2 children in our group. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and were more than happy with its condition. It was very clean, spacious and had everything required for a self catering stay, although if I’m honest a 2 slice toaster is a bit of a challenge at breakfast time. 😬 The hotel itself is also very well looked after. We had lunch in the lounge area and the food was great. We used the leisure facilities and had no complaints there. The pool is a great size. The grounds of the resort are a credit to the staff. They are beautifully kept and an absolute pleasure to sit in and wander about. The staff we came into contact with were friendly and efficient. We would definitely love to return to the resort in future.

Beautiful location but hotel is very old and weathered. Pool was broken apparently which was half the reason for booking. Offered us a swim in a place 30 minutes drive away. Food was finished at 8.30 and nowhere close to get anything to eat. Prices were also really excessive for drink and food with no table service in bar even though plenty of staff around. I would say it was a lovely place 15 -20 years ago but it has been let go.

Stayed in the self catering lodges and it looked like something out of a care home. Furniture dated back to the 60’s and a musty/damp smell throughout. Shower screen was hanging off, bath panels were hanging off and the drawers didn’t have runners so were lying squint. The WiFi only worked in the main living room, and at this it kept cutting out. We weren’t allowed to book breakfast or dinner as it was kept for hotel guests. Poor attitude from staff, false advertisement of lodges and just an overall disappointing stay.

We stayed in one of the apartments, rather than the hotel, and it was absolutely perfect. Very spacious, clean and so well-equipped, particularly for someone like me who enjoys cooking for a family. The view from the living room/balcony was totally stunning. The playground could do with a bit of maintenance and there was a net missing from one of the tennis courts, which was a shame, as the other court was taken when we wanted to play. The bar and bistro menu was pricey. Swimming pool and leisure facilities were awesome and we spent so much time in the pool as the weather was very disappointing but what can you expect in Scotland! If you do get some sun wet heartily recommend a day trip to Luss and kayaking on Loch Lomond.

Taps in apartments are hot and cold individual taps…water so hot that a child could burn their hands…..decor which is dated and tired….everything needs updating and maintaining from our experience… The location is out of this world hence the 3 stars…. Wifi did not work….horrendous coverage in resort - phone signal also not good but to be expected in such a lovely location….but the wifi should be sorted properly by the hotel It’s called a resort - but the tennis courts are missing nets and the court ground is turning to rubble….the kids play area is missing a swing of some sort and is small……not much to do for them…swimming is time limited for kids Apartments are cleaned, but our apartment smelt of pets…. No electric vehicle charge points- absolute joke Overall a lovely location you won’t be disappointed but if you are a person with good standard of hygiene and cleanliness - you will be disappointed as we were.

Beautiful location and the main hotel building is nice and well maintained however the apartments are not and are very dated and in need of refurbishment. The WiFi service is poor which is essential as there is no phone signal at this location. The food at the restaurant was fine and staff were helpful.
