Comfortable cabins, and a fantastic home cooked breakfast. Yes, the drive is a bit potholed, but the welcome is second to none. I had a home cooked evening meal, which the host will provide for a reasonable cost. It is lovely to be out in the countryside - and I felt totally at home. Unfortunately I experienced a flat tire whilst there (a really old tire went pop) and the host was so kind - he sorted me out with a replacement tyre to keep me on the road for my meetings. I will book again, and take my wife for a quiet retreat to the country - and look forward to meeting the host once again. A lovely man.

Very quiet location. Away from everything. Friendly and helpful host. Enjoyed cooked breakfast too. Tea and coffee available in the dining area. Rooms comfortable. Had a good night's sleep.

Nice small chalet style unit in good condition. Breakfast available by request at 6.30am which is great for those of us that need to be on site early. Nice breakfast freshly cooked to order.

The shower was really good and the beds comfortable, though I'm used to a firmer pillow. Breakfast was plentiful (though' no jam for the toast brought ready buttered with the full English.) On the down side it was odd not having tea/coffee biscuits in the room; that breakfast was brought across outside from the house; there was no hairdryer in the room.

Lovely friendly host, and very good value for money. But I do want to point out a few things you should know. You won't I've staying that the lovely house your see in the picture but a wooden chalet building to its side. The walls are pretty thin and you can here even small noises from your neighbouring rooms,including TV and toilet. The bedside lamp had seen better days and bathroom radiator was full of dust. By default there's no kettle or tea making facilities in the room. You can take them over yourself. WiFi was very bad and I could not stream any TV. No usable phone signal with Three. Breakfast was not brilliant. Veg sausage were awful and no baked beans.

Exceptional value stop over for the night. En suite room in a row of cabins, comfortable and warm room with easy open window if ventilation needed. Very friendly welcome from host. village of Witchford within a few minutes drive or equally easy to drive into Ely city centre. Had to leave early so didn't get to sample breakfast but had sausage sandwich in fridge of breakfast room which has 24hr tea / coffee making facilities.

Not what we were expecting from the photos and reviews. The host was really good and the breakfasts were lovely excellent, but our room was anything but. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling, and the radiator was coming off the wall. The furniture in the conservatory is falling apart.

A warm welcome after a long drive from Jane/Owner. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, the shower was instantly warm! The owners were lovely, very friendly, attentive and accommodating. My daughter and I were going out very early one morning and thought we would miss breakfast so Sean/owner made us bacon sandwiches and put cartons of juice in the fridge to take with us! The breakfasts were tasty too, full english and poached eggs on toast. We were greeted each morning by the owners two donkeys. We enjoyed sightings of squirrels, rabbits, and a green woodpecker. We had a lovely peaceful stay, would recommend, and hope to stay again as very close to my family and Ely, thank you!

This was an an enjoyable experience, particular for a sole traveller. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast (which was very good food) was an enjoyable social experience meeting other guests that you do not tend to get with staying at a larger chain hotel. Very relaxing and quiet rural location, easy for getting out and visiting Ely or Cambridge.

Lovely setting in the countryside only drawback is the terrible road conditions driving in to the property. Apart from that I would stay here again. Bed was comfortable

Incredibly kind hosts that went out of their way for me, allowing me to check in early as well as giving me a lift back into town for a wedding. Real, genuine people. Delicious home cooked breakfast arranged the night before. Secluded property off a gravel lane with only nature's noise to be heard. A real off-the-beaten-path gem. Loved being able to see donkeys, rabbits, and other wildlife right from my window. Great shower, warm bedding, and comfortable bed. Only qualm was that the walls were a bit thin and I could hear some other guests chatting in the middle of the night, but wasn't too loud so was still able to sleep. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great stay really quiet in the middle of nowhere which for us was great. Nature was all around us (rabbits everywhere) the only down side was the WiFi yes they are on copper cables but maybe they could do with a WiFi extender as we couldn’t get WiFi in our room but that does not detract from what a great place it was.

Only qualm was that the walls were a bit thin and I could hear some other guests chatting in the middle of the night, but wasn't too loud so was still able to sleep. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

My stay was excellent. The breakfast was really very good and Sean the owner went 'above and beyond' to ensure everything was done to make my stay perfect. Will I be going back? I certainly will.

A warm welcome after a long drive from Jane/Owner. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, the shower was instantly warm! The owners were lovely, very friendly, attentive and accommodating. My daughter and I were going out very early one morning and thought we would miss breakfast so Sean/owner made us bacon sandwiches and put cartons of juice in the fridge to take with us! The breakfasts were tasty too, full english and poached eggs on toast. We were greeted each morning by the owners two donkeys. We enjoyed sightings of squirrels, rabbits, and a green woodpecker. We had a lovely peaceful stay, would recommend, and hope to stay again as very close to my family and Ely, thank you!

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived. Breakfasts brilliant and vegetarians catered for. Only had to ask out host if we wanted anything extra. Very efficient radiators that warmed the room and en suite very quickly. Would definitely stay again.

V good value. Friendly and welcoming. Basic room with 2 friendly mules outside. The only slight negative was extremely bumpy 200 metres unsupported road to premises. No problem if careful but don't bring your Ferrari! Would definitely recommend for a stay.

Fantastic location for peace and quiet after the hustle and bustle of sight seeing. A very friendly welcome from the owner who also does a great breakfast included in the price. The rooms are spot on for what you want it for. Always stay there the owner can't do enough for you highly recommend it.

The property is well described on the sites and is in a quiet location near to Ely and fairly close to Cambridge. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable cabins, and a fantastic home cooked breakfast. Yes, the drive is a bit potholed, but the welcome is second to none. I had a home cooked evening meal, which the host will provide for a reasonable cost. It is lovely to be out in the countryside - and I felt totally at home. Unfortunately I experienced a flat tire whilst there (a really old tire went pop) and the host was so kind - he sorted me out with a replacement tyre to keep me on the road for my meetings. I will book again, and take my wife for a quiet retreat to the country - and look forward to meeting the host once again. A lovely man.

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 kids under 6) and the family suite was perfect. Sean was such a helpful and friendly host and the breakfast was outstanding.

Really enjoyed my stay here, the owners are very friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic. If I was to really, really 'nitpick' the WiFi signal was a little weak and I ended up reverting back to my mobile data, but everything else was brilliant and I'll definitely be booking here again if and when the opportunity arises. Have already recommended to several colleagues.

Lovely friendly host, and very good value for money. But I do want to point out a few things you should know. You won't I've staying that the lovely house your see in the picture but a wooden chalet building to its side. The walls are pretty thin and you can here even small noises from your neighbouring rooms,including TV and toilet. The bedside lamp had seen better days and bathroom radiator was full of dust. By default there's no kettle or tea making facilities in the room. You can take them over yourself. WiFi was very bad and I could not stream any TV. No usable phone signal with Three. Breakfast was not brilliant. Veg sausage were awful and no baked beans.

Exceptional value stop over for the night. En suite room in a row of cabins, comfortable and warm room with easy open window if ventilation needed. Very friendly welcome from host. village of Witchford within a few minutes drive or equally easy to drive into Ely city centre. Had to leave early so didn't get to sample breakfast but had sausage sandwich in fridge of breakfast room which has 24hr tea / coffee making facilities.

A lovely couple of nights at The Woodlands. Comfortable bed in a peaceful setting, with a tasty full english breakfast. Just a couple of miles outside Ely, this was an ideal base for my trip. Great hosts, plus a friendly chat with the donkeys in the morning.

Have stopped here before. It is an ideal stop for me at a good price when I'm stopping for one or two days. Breakfast cooked to order and very enjoyable. Rooms clean and very quiet as it is situated well away from any major roads or towns without being too remote. Always friendly welcome. Easy to drive to Ely and surrounding area.
