Excellent staff! They are all efficient and helpful and always cheerful. Parking at and around the property is challenging; I would definitely stay here if travelling without a vehicle as it’s convenient to downtown but in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. But parking a car in the James Bay Area is a hassle.

Met at the door by our host who was very accommodating and welcoming. We got a tour of the space. Parking is a very small space behind the building on the property. Street parking is very limited due to the new bike lane in front of the BnB.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Parking was an issue because the city put in bike lanes that took away front curb parking.

Great property right in the centre of Victoria, exactly where you’d want to be as a visitor. Everything is within walking distance of the house. The welcome was warm and friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The common living room had a TV and there were glasses for your own drinks. Breakfast from 08:30 to 09:30 can be outside on the patio or inside and was very good with muffins to start and then a choice of eggs, pancakes, bagel or cereals, all with some fresh fruit, tea & coffee. No tea or coffee making facilities in your room but a large communal kitchen downstairs allows you to make coffe and hot drinks. There was parking at the rear of the property but not guaranteed, but we had a space all weekend. A wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Victoria and surrounding areas and want a nice, comfy, cosy and unique experience.

Old house in pretty and quiet neighborhood close to the harbor. There are quite a few steps and no elevator. No staff is available to help with luggage if you arrive later in the day.

Fantastic staff that was accommodating with storing our E-bikes. The breakfast was phenomenal! The bed thought has seen its last days. Very soft and uncomfortable. If that changes we will definitely be back!

The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Darlene was exceptional. There are a lot of stairs which may be a problem for some folks but they are manageable and the staff will help with luggage if needed. The breakfast was outstanding and we would be very happy to stay here again!!

What I loved about this property was its uniqueness. It is very different to a normal hotel, much more of a BnB vibe, which is what it's classed as. What sold me on choosing this hotel was the pictures of the rooms, and let me tell you, they don't disappoint in person! We were very pleased with the all the rooms we saw, as well as the one we stayed in. It had a Jacuzzi in it too which was a happy surprise. The breakfast was really good in the morning as well. They have a few people come and cook for you, as you choose from a small menu. We had the pancakes, which were delicious! Three small downsides that I noted: 1) There were about 5 spots to park in the back of the house and it was very tight even with a compact car. Not too bad as there's parking on the street if needed, but you may walk a ways. 2) The house, while very charming being built in early 1900s, creaks like crazy! It honestly wasn't too bad but when we were trying to sleep it was noticeable. 3) The shower gets HOT, like SCALDING HOT, so be very careful. All in all, a very fun experience. And Marketa, the owner, greeted us when we first got there and said goodbye when we left. Would stay here again and recommend it to you for a unique and memorable BnB experience.

Very small room, no water available and all very inconvenient. The in is okay but far from what we expected, unfortunately. Staff service was ok, getring a normal coffee not possible and the breakfast ok. Giving all clients a one hour slot for breakfast is really weird. In a nutshell, i would rate this place average, at most.

Amazing gem in Jame’s Bay that is a safe walk to fisherman’s wharf and Parliament. The service at check in and breakfast is fantastic. The only discomfort we experienced is that the curtains are not blackout and let a lot of light in on the second floor. Otherwise we were so lucky to have stayed at such a charming property!

The house was absolutely lovely, and we were fortunate enough to stay in a spacious room that happened to be available. The room had a beautiful view, and we were truly grateful to spend my time there. The next morning, we even saw a horse-drawn carriage passing by the window—it felt so elegant and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very attentive and kind, checking in with us several times. Although it was just one night, I had such a wonderful stay. If I have the chance, I’d love to visit again. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Marketa's was a super cute old house that was comfortable and cozy. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which had a fun jacuzzi style tub in the room. The breakfast was delicious, and the host very friendly and helpful. The house's location was very close to the Clipper terminal, which was convenient for us. Overall, we had a great stay!

The place is amazing, beautiful large home converted into an old school B&B. Loved my room! Had a wonderful bathtub in a cozy environment. Only two comments I have are lack of breakfast options for early riser. Unfortunately I could not partake in the breakfast part of the Bed and Breakfast. I understand that it's easy and convenient to have a scheduled time for breakfast but it would've been nice to have an option to speak to someone about my schedule. This is the second comment, I did not get any notice or email about my stay. I was slightly concerned that perhaps the reservation did not go through. Upon arriving there was a letter with my name on it with house rules and a key. While I understand people have their schedules, I never once interacted with a person. In the age of Airbnb a unique service suck as this should prioritize their clients a little more. I specifically chose this option vs. Airbnb because I've grown tired of the soulless micro-units with zero connection to staff or other humans. This is a great B&B so please keep the spirit alive

We had a totally wonderful day in Victoria. Arrived on the island by ferry around 11 and Marketa invited us to check in on arrival notwithstanding official checkin is 1 pm. We had a lovely room, were guven dinner recos which turned out great and had a relaxing evening at the b&b and a wonderful restful sleep. Breakfast was outstanding. We enjoyed it all!

Wonderful staff, welcoming, friendly, terrific location, breakfast was delicious. Home was charming and historic. There is some parking in the back and on the street out front so no issues there. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf. As with most older heritage homes the layout will be a bit more unique (toilet and shower/bath are in separate room) and this is common for more older European hotels. We had everything we needed. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making it a warm and comforting stay!

The staff is exceptionally friendly and hospitable who gave great suggestions and served an incredible breakfast each morning. The house is a beautiful old home with lovely plants on the deck where we had breakfast each morning. The dining room is also lovely. Marketa’s is convenient to all the downtown sites and port. We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Marketa’s.

This vintage B&B is extremely well located. Easy walk to the harbour, Fisherman's Wharf, and great dining options. The staff was amazing. Really nice and happy to help and suggest places to visit around. They were also very flexible in preparing a to-go breakfast since we were leaving early. Would go back and highly recommend.

Old house in pretty and quiet neighborhood close to the harbor. There are quite a few steps and no elevator. No staff is available to help with luggage if you arrive later in the day.

Fantastic staff that was accommodating with storing our E-bikes. The breakfast was phenomenal! The bed thought has seen its last days. Very soft and uncomfortable. If that changes we will definitely be back!

An excellent choice for a visit to Victoria prior to a cruise. Very close to Fisherman's Wharf, Inner Harbour, rext to restaurants, shops, etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again!

Outstanding location near the beautiful, fun and interesting Victoria inner harbour but also easy walking to Fisherman’s Wharf, Beacon Hill Park, shopping, restaurants and more. The only issue, which is NOT Marketa’s fault, is the removal of street parking in front of the B and B to make a bike lane. There are some parking spots behind the property however and other parking options nearby.

We loved Marketa’s! It was the first stop on our honeymoon trip. The staff were all very friendly, the room was a good price, and the location was very close to the ferry back to the US. We absolutely loved the breakfast! We will be back!

The place is amazing, beautiful large home converted into an old school B&B. Loved my room! Had a wonderful bathtub in a cozy environment. Only two comments I have are lack of breakfast options for early riser. Unfortunately I could not partake in the breakfast part of the Bed and Breakfast. I understand that it's easy and convenient to have a scheduled time for breakfast but it would've been nice to have an option to speak to someone about my schedule. This is the second comment, I did not get any notice or email about my stay. I was slightly concerned that perhaps the reservation did not go through. Upon arriving there was a letter with my name on it with house rules and a key. While I understand people have their schedules, I never once interacted with a person. Very small room, no water available and all very inconvenient. The in is okay but far from what we expected, unfortunately. Staff service was ok, getring a normal coffee not possible and the breakfast ok. Giving all clients a one hour slot for breakfast is really weird. In a nutshell, i would rate this place average, at most.

I just wanted a boiled egg with brown toast but this request was refused. I think it would be easier than making eggs benedict. Yogurt muffins and granola had quite a bit of sugar in them. less is sometimes more.

The decor and atmosphere of the place was wonderful and unique, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and was made into a truly memorable experience by the staff. Super excited to come back one day!

Bed and breakfast properties are so much more comfortable and friendly than hotels. Each morning at breakfast, we met someone new and had a delightful chat. Our room was comfortable and quiet.
