Assiniboine Gordon Inn on the Park

This is an older hotel but the room was clean and adequate. There is no elevator and we were on the second floor. Not so easy for my husband with the stairs. Check in was easy and the staff friendly. Breakfast was made to order and came quickly. Great price.

Poor front entrance. Had to drive around to find where to gain entrance . Parking not best. Staff at front desk and restaurant great. Room ok but hot. Only way to cool was to open window. Quite noisy from band. Breakfast very good.

Restaurant and separate bar in same building as the motel, gets loud at night because of the bar so make sure to bring ear plugs!.

I would not recommend staying here if you actually want to sleep. The tavern downstairs is super loud! I asked for a quiet room as I needed to sleep for a few hrs on a layover. Not much sleeping happened though as I was kept up most of the night with loud music and slamming doors!

East to get to, cheap parking, helpful staff. Didn’t realize there was a casino and bar on the property - live music under our room till 1 am. No elevator.

There is no elevator so, if you have issues with stairs, get a first floor room. They have a bar with loud music playing until 2am on the night i checked in. The room AC untis have no thermostats so you have two choices: on or off. The Wifi worked in the restaurant, but not in my room. The toilet pipes made a loud noise after each flush. On the positive side, they give you two free half-liter bottles of water each day, the complimentary breakfast is cooked to order (excellent coffee!), and the waitress in the restaurant is very nice and helpful.

I stayed here twice in a span of two weeks, once in the main building and once in the building next door. I checked in on a Saturday evening which was a bit much. It’s attached to and above a bar that was packed with over 200 people including bouncers. It was incredibly loud and I got no sleep. The room was stifling hot with no temp control. As a solo travelling woman the crowd and vibe felt off putting, but all turned out fine. The next time I checked in on a Tuesday and it was very quiet. They put me in a different building (I didn’t know they had two properties) and this room was better than the room I had the first time with regards to comfort and came with a balcony. That said this is a very cheap room so you can’t have high expectations. You get free parking, free breakfast and a place to stay for the lowest price in town. They do hold $250 on your card, but both times it was returned to my bank within one day of checking out.

I don't know what property the other reviewers are talking about as this property is nothing like the pictures. Our room was in a separate building. The entry had beer cans & garbage in it and smelt of sweat and urine. The room was dirty, the furnishings were dirty (all chairs had some sort of stain on them), bathroom door was broken so when shut it was very hard to open. Bathroom sink did not drain as there was something shoved into it and when I went to take a shower discovered that the shower had stains in it that looked like pee. Our neighbors partied all night. We did call the front desk who talked to them but also told them it was us that complained. When the staff left the drunken women was yelling about pounding on our door and confronting us. They then went to the bar & returned to bang doors and play music all night. People crawled over the balcony to get into the room. After a night of little sleep we left at 5 am. We realized we weren't getting more sleep and had an 8 hour drive ahead of us. Can't comment on the breakfast as we felt it wasn't worth staying. On check out I started listing the issues and the night manager basically said we should have continued to call. The security guard was standing there and I had to wonder what his job was as why wouldn't he have checked on the situation regularly as he knew there was a problem. The final straw for us was when the night manager said that they likely had unregistered guests in the room.

Already from the entrance to the main lobby it was dirty and smelled terrible. The room was not only old and not updated but that wasn't important but being clean was. There was a huge spiderweb with dirty walls and the bathroom is better not to mention. Breakfast is included but only what they say otherwise it's an extra charge and my children are not included only 2 adults can have breakfast the children pay and it's not very health I will prefer McDonald's. Heating in the room not even mentioned. I don't recommend it for families. Then it calls itself a hotel but it's just a motel. It says 2 stars but I don't even give it 1.

A good nice clean hotel. Basic, but good. Included in your stay is a breakfast in the restaurant . It's a good Breakfast. Tw egg, hash brown, bacon , toast and a coffee. This keeps you going all morning . Restaurant staff always smiling , and quick to refill your coffee. Stayed five nights.

There are two buildings, one seemed nice in the foyer, but we were put in the building across the street, where dirty laundry, dishes, food, were lining the hallways when we arrived, and were still there the next day when we checked out. It smelled bad, and the room smelled of cigarette smoke and urine. When we complained to the manager, she was apologetic, but no compensation offered. One redeeming quality of our stay, was the excellent hot breakfast.

Room and facilities were clean overall, however there was a strong smell in the room and adjacent hallway of what I believe was cat urine. After arriving late I just opened window but noise from road was annoying yet slept OK. Saw maid in morning and told her about it, but upon return second night the smell remained. Went to a corner store and bought and used fabreeze which did the trick. Third day and night smell crept back in and I again sprayed the room down but frankly I was too tired to care anymore since I was leaving at 4:30 AM. Carpets need to be professionally cleaned and if so since all else was good I would return.

The hotel is clean and quiet, the immediate area not so much due to a 24 hour beer and liquor store drive thru that is right heside the hotel. It would be nice to have some standard hotel amenities like an in-room coffee maker, a mini fridge and a microwave.

Clean room. No control on heat. We had window open all night when it was - 30 outside. Including breakfast was vary good. Overall it’s you get what you pay for Very good value for $98 includes taxes !

The TV in the next bedroom was on until after 2am. The room faced a busy main street and could clearly hear all the cars passing by.

Rooms are tidy, comfortable and very clean. Price is right. Would recommend this hotel but keep in mind there is no air conditioning!

Good nice staff. You can actually hear other people from the other rooms. Tv’s too small. No control for room temperatures.

Service was incredible. Check in was a bit disastrous because of something I messed up, but the staff and management bent over backward to help me make it work. I am SO appreciative. I wasn’t expecting no conditioner or hair dryer, which is also my oversight because I always assume these items are a given so I didn’t check ahead. So take note! Also, there is VERY little soundproofing between rooms. I’d give 6/10 if it wasn’t for the service (because it’s pricey for what you get) but instead it’s a well-deserved 8/10. Thank you all!

Staff is rude and not helpful. We didn't get the room that we booked. Staff was unable to communicate in English.

Doors were locked when we tried to check in at 1030pm after driving 14 hours. When we rang the bell the front desk staff wouldn’t open the door, had to talk to them through the glass to explain we had a reservation! Not convenient for a place that has a “24 hour front desk”

When we check in I had asked about the gift basket my sister had left, the guy at the desk had no idea what I was talking, after getting to our room the basket was not there, went down to ask about it, and got the run around and waited, 15-20 mins to talk to Simon, we had gone to our room in the meantime and gathered our stuff and were ready to check out. When asked why, I had said no basket, no fridge in the room, and I asked 15 mins before to get Brain the owner on the phone to see the basket was. Simon said the basket was in a different room, ran up got it and helped us more to a room with a fridge. Next morning I called down to the front desk to say the bathroom sink was plugged, the girl said "you tell housekeeping they fix it." My hubby finds housekeeping and tells them about the plugged sink, later that day we go back to the room and the sink is still plugged, at the front desk I ask to speak with Simon, we wait 20 mins, I went to ask why is it taking so long, she says Simon busy. I tell her again about the sink and she says housekeeping didn't tell you, you move to rm 53. I said no. I forgot my pillow in the previous rm, hubby goes down to front desk and asks for the key to get my pillow, he says NO, he says I get someone to get it for you and bring it to front desk, hubby says why wouldn't you just put it our room, 5 mins later I have my pillow. The people at the front desk were incompetent, there was no communication, and the customer service overall was lacking.

Staff was very professional, helpful and service oriented. Have recommended to our friends and will stay there again. Would recommend seniors book the Motel for quiet and more amenities (coffee pot/fridge)

I texted day ahead for late check in no response called 6 hours ahead for late check in. When arrived the front door was locked and the clerk stood inside questioning why we were there. 68 year old couple with lots of luggage

Staff is very friendly and helpful

All the staff with whom I had contact were awesome. The room was cozy and neat. The food was very good, including the free breakfasts. Good atmosphere.

Can't trust this place. Booked with the full breakfast included. But the check-in staff told us there is no breakfast included and needs to pay if we want the breakfast. But the check out staff ask us " you guys want the breakfast, too?" while she is fighting whith two of other customers about the free breakfast included. We told her if that's free. She said nothing is free and push us to check out quick, she is busy with other customers. But the receipt she gave us listed 2 free breakfast on it. Since we have a long drive to Ontario. We can't spend time to fight with the staff just for a breakfast that staff doesn't want you to eat.

Good location easy parking

A decent place for a reasonable price. It is great that the express bus stop is close by so you can stay here and easily get to events downtown.

Easy access to parks. Room was about what we expected. Very clean though. Wasn't a fan of the beds but maybe that's just me. Great for accessing assiniboine park though, like a 10 minute walk to it. Worked very well for accessing the great outdoors comedy festival.

Close to the airport and park

If your travels involve nature and walking this location is perfect!

Property met my needs for going to the airport early the next morning. Airport is very close.

On the main route

Choose for price and location both of which were great. There is a liquor store adjacent so at night there is noise from liquor store regulars. Other then that everything was good.

Everything was okay . But breakfast is complimentary we are 3 adult and 1 kid .. they gave only couple for 3 adult and told we have to pay for kid. We don’t have much options for the breakfast too. We didn’t like it .

Amenities included breakfast but restaurant was closed and did not get compensated.

Room was very clean . Bathtub needs new grouting, bathroom sink wouldn’t shut off completely and the toilet had to be flushed twice to get rid of all waste. Breakfast was wonderful
