Comparatively speaking, Check-in was laborious. Request to have a meal from the restaurant in my room was met with a $7 room service surcharge response - even though I was happy to collect meal / return all plates utensils. Wet comfortable bed but nestled in the main light fitting in my room was a crushed empty spirits can. Will be my 1 & only stay at Magdala. Definitely not worth the $170+ per night cost. Oh & golfers … don’t (like me) be fooled by the 4 or 6 hole golf course advertising sign.

A clean and tidy motel with basic but adequate facilities. Good value. Convenient breakfast. A good spot to stop en route. 8 year old reports that his “bunk bed was squeaky but it had a playground and lots of space and needs more playground equipment” and gives 3/5. 6 year old reports it was “a little bit small” but gives 5/5. We were extremely disappointed to stay here. Check-in was ok but we were advised there was a fee for Amex, so I gave another card. Didn't realise that they had already charged our original card and, of course, the fee. Our room was relatively clean until you looked under the bed where there was Maltesers. The spa room had a spa big enough for a small person, definitely not room for 2 and the shower only had soap in the dispenser, no shampoo or conditioner. Internet was sketchy (tried 2 mobile phones and a laptop) so I went into the restaurant to use their internet. Was offered a coffee, asked for a tea (same that is in the rooms) and was charged $6 for literally a tea bag and water!! Room was clean and spacious. Abit above average price. Shower was nice and hot and a very comfy bed. Patio with table, chairs looking over part of lake with some ducks. Had free internet. No netflixs. Abit noisy for awhile with crickets making a noise but it stopped. Was abit confused played for on hotels.com but payment wasn't done when got there. So had to pay when there. Next day made sure payment wasn't taken out twice. Restraunt and pool but l didn't use. Nice stay. Lovely owner

The proprietor's were lovely, and did their absolute best to provide a wonderful experience, unfortunately the pool was too cold to swim in and it would be quite noisy with the truck air brakes during the week, the beds really do need to be updated to more modern mattresses. All in all though it was a lovely and staff were just wonderful.

Ein durchaus gepflegtes Motel, ruhig an einem kleinen See gelegen. Zimmer sehr ordentlich. Es störten die vielen Fliegen. Nach deren „Entsorgung“ war alles gut. Ein freundlicher Gastgeber. Gutes Essen!

Not a huge town Stawell, but some nice accomodation options. The Magdala is very clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was good. No hesitation in recommending for short stays and roadtrips

As a family with teenage children, the bedding in these rooms was perfect with 2 singles and a queen. The grounds were lovely, and the check in team were very friendly. Very good value for money when visiting the region. We would stay again. The only faults we found were that the room was a little musty, but we opened the door for a little while, and it was fixed!

We were extremely disappointed to stay here. Check-in was ok but we were advised there was a fee for Amex, so I gave another card. Didn't realise that they had already charged our original card and, of course, the fee. Our room was relatively clean until you looked under the bed where there was Maltesers. The spa room had a spa big enough for a small person, definitely not room for 2 and the shower only had soap in the dispenser, no shampoo or conditioner. Internet was sketchy (tried 2 mobile phones and a laptop) so I went into the restaurant to use their internet. Was offered a coffee, asked for a tea (same that is in the rooms) and was charged $6 for literally a tea bag and water!! Owner was rude and unhelpful and, if you look at the comments through google, he refutes everything you write. I'm the second person from my company who stayed here, and we are both on the same page. Do not stay here!

No netflixs. Abit noisy for awhile with crickets making a noise but it stopped. Was abit confused played for on hotels.com but payment wasn't done when got there. So had to pay when there. Next day made sure payment wasn't taken out twice. Restraunt and pool but l didn't use. Nice stay. Lovely owner

Given that is off the main highway the property is set back from the road and is so quiet and peaceful. The owners are friendly and easy to talk with. I will be going back again. It is a very relaxing property.

As a family with teenage children, the bedding in these rooms was perfect with 2 singles and a queen. The grounds were lovely, and the check in team were very friendly. Very good value for money when visiting the region. We would stay again. The only faults we found were that the room was a little musty, but we opened the door for a little while, and it was fixed!

Comparatively speaking, Check-in was laborious. Request to have a meal from the restaurant in my room was met with a $7 room service surcharge response - even though I was happy to collect meal / return all plates utensils. Wet comfortable bed but nestled in the main light fitting in my room was a crushed empty spirits can. Will be my 1 & only stay at Magdala. Definitely not worth the $170+ per night cost. Oh & golfers … don’t (like me) be fooled by the 4 or 6 hole golf course advertising sign.

A clean and tidy motel with basic but adequate facilities. Good value. Convenient breakfast. A good spot to stop en route. 8 year old reports that his “bunk bed was squeaky but it had a playground and lots of space and needs more playground equipment” and gives 3/5. 6 year old reports it was “a little bit small” but gives 5/5. Wife felt “was like a school camp motel” but still 4/5. Overall, a good result!

Not a huge town Stawell, but some nice accomodation options. The Magdala is very clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was good. No hesitation in recommending for short stays and roadtrips

The restaurant was closed but it was offered that Room Service was available on both nights of the stay. Room service was fine on the first night then when we went to place an order on the second night we were told that it was not now available because they had decided to have a family night and and therefore no Room Service. Very disappointing and no prior notice given.

Stayed for 2 night in a Standard Queen Lakeview - Lake consists of a man-made channel surrounding the complex with the brownest of muddy water - not dirty or scummy or ugly but not a sprawling Lake either. Did not use any amenities outside of our room - did not use Restaurant. Situated on the Western Highway but constructed a fair way back off the road so we were not bothered by the continual passage of trucks passing by - this is the main highway connecting Adelaide and Melbourne and trucks use it 24 hours a day - we have stayed on other Motels in Stawell which are built right on the highway and noise IS an issue ALL NIGHT. It was July and very Cold and Wet - accordingly we did not explore the grounds - we were just there to sleep ! Room was large - more than big enough for a King Bed (we only had a Queen) and Heating cycle of the A/C worked very well - all appliances worked well - plenty of bench space and spacious bathroom with plenty of Bench too. Would stay there again - tariff was good - is on the western outskirts of town and parking is directly outside your room - a long way to “walk” into town - you basically need a car.
