Just love the vibe here. Hanging in the beer garden reading, short walk to the beach, hot tubbing under the stars and a comfy bed. What more could you ask for?

I like this property and have stayed here many times. It's quiet and the staff is nice. The only disappointment I had this time was that hot tub was not open. I have expected to enjoy the hot tub after a long day of skiing.

We stayed here during a cheer competition. Clean, and easy check in. Walking distance to the other hotels and heavenly village. Our room was above their coffee shop so the first morning we heard everything below us, which I accidently thought it was the room next to us banging. They have a text option when needing to get in touch with them, which made things very easy, and they were very quick to respond. There wasn't an elevator so if you have issues with stairs you will need to request a bottom floor room. My husband and I would stay here again for the price.

This property offers complimentary Tesla charging which is the big plus for me! My family and I stayed 2 nights consecutively. I did not like the property asking me to fill out check-in information twice and charge $25 twice for the security deposits. We were placed in the room next to the jacuzzi which was a bit noisy. Cute little hotel. Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Only thing that we did not like is they had the area with the fire pits rented out both nights for private parties and the fire pits and lights went out at 10:00.

The room is very old, the stairwells that took 3 flights of stairs to get to the room smelled of urine, people were smoking weed, the receptionist told us the wrong room, and there were no towels in the room due to a shortage in staff. Trash everywhere, and ceilings had water damage.

Our room was filthy, there was tons of crumbs and trash on the floor. The toilet was dirty, the shower was so small you had to press against the wall to even have the water hit you. There was a dirty sock in our closet. About 2am we were woken up with a loud obnoxious noise that shook our room and continued for 3 hours. We reached out to front desk and they told us it was the wind. We cut our stay short and left. Terrible stay.

Our bathroom had a sour, mildew smell when we came in. The hallway outside our room also smelled like urine. We weren’t staying long so we figured we would tough it out. By the second night, the bathroom smell was overwhelming. We opened windows, ran the bathroom fan, and kept the door closed. We felt like to got worse overtime. When we checked out, I told the staff member at the desk to check before the next guest arrived and she seemed to not care.

Good place to stay if you want to walk to food and drink options. It’s also very close to drive to other areas some may want to visit. The staff was awesome and allowed us and early check. The bathroom did have build up in the shower. That was probably the only thing I didn’t like. It could have been a little cleaner.

Stayed here once before two years ago and it was great however this time around the room was dirty with random scuffs and stains on the wall and bed sheets. Restroom shower drain kept popping off and was a safety concern. Better off paying the slightly higher price at a nicer hotel with breakfast included. One inconvenience was how the property planned the same playlist til 10pm. Note we were early risers to hike before the heat. It also didn’t help our room was right next to the speaker. Our second night we had VERY LOUD neighbors and we couldn’t call anyone about it since there’s no staff on site till 7/8am.

The staff is friendly, the place is quiet and free parking is a plus. The clearness is a concern, strong pee smell at stairs, the carpet in the corridor and room is very dirty. It will be nice to have a microwave either in the room or at the lobby to heat food for a small kid.

Great location. The beer garden on site is awesome and the staff in there is wonderful. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had an awful mold/mildew smell- not sure if all the rooms are like that. Property encourages guests to communicate via texts but they don’t respond.

We got a room here to be in walking distance of Heavenly Village. A cute place, enjoyed the atmosphere at the beer garden and fire pits, very walkable. Cameron at the front desk was fantastic and very helpful. However, as long as you're fine listening to your neighbor's conversations (and other sounds) right next to you or get lucky enough to have the people above you pacing back and forth until 3am every night and can hear every step because the walls are paper thin you'll enjoy it. If that isn't for you (and we're still catching up on our sleep from it) you may want to at least make sure you get a room on the top floor. Other than that, we did find it to be a cute little place. But wow, those walls - so thin.

The place was great. My only complaints are with the room and location of the room. I can loudly hear people walking up the stairs. One of the lights on the bedside didn’t work and the ac did not work either so the room was very stuffy. Comfort wasn’t great for those reasons but everything else such as the garden and walkable areas made the stay enjoyable.

Great area, quick walk to lots of good shopping and dining, very close to the lake. Live music next to the bonfires was fantastic. The hot tub was nice for the one day it wasn’t overrun by a group of 10+ preteens, and the other hot tub was broken so we didn’t really get a chance to enjoy it. It should probably be mentioned somewhere that this hotel is used as a travel spot for schools as well. Room was clean enough, the shower is a bit of a pain because the shower head directly faces the door, so you can’t turn on the water to let it get warm without water getting all over the floor. Water temps fluctuate a lot. For the price I can’t complain too much. Walls were thick, couldn’t hear the neighbors clearly which was awesome. Easy check-in and check-out. Overall, would probably stay again as long as it’s after school is out.

Hotel is an old remodeled motor hotel type. Great features like the hot tubs and fire pits plus the brewery with food and live music right on the same property. Water pressure was zero so we actually had to skip showers and the bed was so soft my husband and I both woke up so sore. So unfortunately for us we would not be able to stay here again.

The room was ready early, it was very clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bed in my room needs a new mattress, it has a sunken spot on one side, the rest of it was comfortable.

This is really a 2 star motel but it’s clean. The AC didn’t work as expected, we had it set to 65 overnight and it felt warm, we were hot at night. The bedding was very old, worn and torn. It needed replacing. Overall the bed and pillows were not comfortable. The shower stall was tiny and the shower head was too tall for a short person to adjust. The water was spraying outside the door and it was difficult to adjust the head so it didn’t shoot out. TV was tiny. Overall the price was fitting for what we got.

We stayed in the family room with the bunk beds but the bunks were so shaky and hard to get onto. Since the bunk beds were right over the head of the bed, we hit our foreheads on the metal railings a few times. That made it really hard to get in and out of bed. The lighting in the room is also inadequate, so the room was so dim. There also aren’t enough outlets available (only 1). The shower was very small and cramped. There also wasn’t enough parking at night so we had to park on the street far away and walk to the hotel.

Very cool place to stay, close to the casinos, the lake and lots of dining options. Hotel is old but rooms have been upgraded. We had to walk our luggage up 2 flights because there isn’t an elevator so that was kind of a pain. Room was nice and clean overall but our shower was a stall style and was too cramped for our liking, the way the shower head is installed you’re up against the back wall. Loved the outdoor area with a bar, games, seating and a fire pit. Food and coffee were also available in the lobby area. All we had were Lattes and smoothies which were amazing. Overall a nice place to stay, will definitely be back.

Be careful when making the reservation through Expedia, since the hotel will charge you the full amount again the day you check-in. They said that the authorized amount during check-in was only for 'safety', but they ended up charging basically the full authorized amount.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much! The location is quiet with voucher to the beach which is only a 5 minute walk. The rooms are huge and the balcony was comfortable. The attached brewery area and live music was fun. Great for kids and getting to know people. We mostly dealt with Claudio at the front desk - he was so kind and patient with all our questions. We will definitely be back!

Switched rooms three times. First the key didn’t work due to error by staff. So instead of activating the key for the room they told us we were in they made us move across the property to the one we were “supposed” to be in. I was offered a beer for my troubles. Then the second room had no running water and we were moved back across the property to another room with barely an apology. Worst check in ever… rooms aren’t to bad though and the hot tub was nice.

I’ve stayed at Basecamp South Lake twice a year for business and always had great experiences — until this recent trip. Unfortunately, my reservation was lost, and the front desk staff showed no empathy or willingness to help. Their attitude was essentially, “it’s not our problem,” and they refused to work with the website I used to resolve the issue. I was left without a room and had to find another hotel at the last minute. Sadly, after years of staying here, I’ll be looking for a different place for future visits.

Absolutely love this place !!! The only issue I we had was getting hold of the property late at night for our last min check in and that was more our fault than anything!!! The staff was amazing !!

This is our second time staying at Basecamp and we absolutely appreciate Stephanie! She was very communicative about when our room was ready (it was ready early so that was great after a long drive) as well as helping ship some stuff that we left accidentally at the room. The beer garden was fun with live music and great food! We got breakfast before heading out and everything was delicious. Great stay and we will be back again!

Couldn’t check in earlier unless I paid a $100 early check in fee. Front desk guy on the phone was kinda rude. Had to wait for my 4pm clock in so I had to wait around a long time for me to check in. After checking in staff were helpful and nice. Parking can be difficult to find space small area to work with. Hotel bar and hangout area is open to the public so that area was kinda busy with tourist/guests. Overall nice place might come back again won’t know for sure until my stay is over.

We got a room here to be in walking distance of Heavenly Village. A cute place, enjoyed the atmosphere at the beer garden and fire pits, very walkable. Cameron at the front desk was fantastic and very helpful. However, as long as you're fine listening to your neighbor's conversations (and other sounds) right next to you or get lucky enough to have the people above you pacing back and forth until 3am every night and can hear every step because the walls are paper thin you'll enjoy it. If that isn't for you (and we're still catching up on our sleep from it) you may want to at least make sure you get a room on the top floor. Other than that, we did find it to be a cute little place. But wow, those walls - so thin.

This is a very convenient location. It is right across the street from the Cesar’s outdoor amphitheater entrance and down the street from the Heavenly shopping center. Staff was great and texted us prior to our arrival and let us know we check in early. Check in was smooth and the young woman at the front desk was great. Cute outdoor area with a live band and corn-hole boards, fire pits, and you could purchase drinks. Pricey but comparatively speaking, not horrible for Tahoe. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was wonderful. We were there for the American century golf tournament at Edgewood. The hotel is on a perfect location! We were able to walk everywhere. We were arriving really late in the night and they have a wonderful late check in process. The coffee shop there has great coffee and breakfast items! Staff was always super nice! We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it! It has that perfect Lake Tahoe feel and atmosphere! Loved the outdoor space with the brewery!

Basecamp South Lake Tahoe is quaint, clean and convenient to the center of town and Heavenly Village. My kids and I stayed 2 nights. The breakfast offered in the front office/ lobby was great and surprisingly not super expensive. Bonus- they also have a water station in the lobby so you can refill water bottles if you are here to hike or ski. There are 2 hot tubs on the property… and fire pits where you can roast marshmallows or just relax. I would recommend the property.

I stayed at Basecamp on a solo trip for a couple days. They are very efficient with checking in and checking out process. The room was clean, comfortable and very cute. There’s a coffee shop and brewery on the grounds that has live music. Cute seating area outside with a couple fire pits. They are also pet friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The coffee shop is delightful, their juice bar serves really fresh interesting juice blends, and their breakfast menu has something for everyone. The brewery is super chill, delicious beer, and the live music is always fun and rarely too crowded. The whole place is dog friendly!

Property and room was clean and great for the price. We did have a towel that had yellow stains on it so didn’t use it but didn’t call front desk since we had brought extra towels from home. Breakfast was not included and honestly the food wasn’t good at all. Our mesh sliding door wouldn’t close all the way so had to have sliding door closed all day/night, and a/c unit was too loud to keep on a long time. Beach was 10 min walking and got a voucher for the private beach so that was nice. Parking is ok, does get crowded in the small lot especially for an suv so tried to stay on the outsides. Target was also a 3min drive away so that was a plus!

We liked the campy feel of the hotel. The brewery attached with live music and pub food was the main attraction. The parking was very limited and there was no daily room servicing, we had to ask for towels, toilet paper etc... I believe it was because we were there in the off season. The staff that we did interact with were great. The cafe that was open in the morning was nice. Over it was a good stay but could use a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint.

Base Camp is a really fun place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. Not only affordable rates, but quite unique with its outdoor courtyard (two fire pits, and large hot tub) a cozy lobby (with rooftop hot tub) and Base Camp Beer Garden! Shopping, restaurants and bars all within walking distance.

I love how warm the rooms are, and they are comfortable for a weekend of skiing. I love the beds but the pillows could use some help. Having the beer pub in the hotel is also great and drinking cider while making s'mores outdoors has been a good end of ski day The coffee shop in the lobby is also a good deal for getting some caffeine before hitting the slopes. A bit of a walk to the Gondola but rent a locker and all is well!

We stayed a couple nights for a concert just over Stateline and enjoy the area. Loved the walkability to the show and how central it was. Our room was clean and comfortable. Only downside was the small shower. Loved the firepits and brewery onsite! I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

What an amazing location! Hotel is older but decorated really nice. Beds were comfortable and rooms have everything you need. The brewery and outdoor area was the best place to hang out at the fire pit and listen to live music. Super easy to walk up to Heavenly Village or down to Lakeside Beach Club! Will be back again!

The location is great and it’s got a cozy feel. The room wasn’t very clean and wasn’t the best for a baby. It was more fun to stay at when it was just my partner and I.
