Basic accommodation a very short walk from the Shadwell DLR station. Friendly staff, good breakfast choices and opportunity to get fried eggs cooked by the kitchen staff. Even fresh fruit. Could have wished for some more healthy breakfast cereals/options but overall, a good start in the morning. Room was very basic and bed comfortable. But good value for money and I really appreciated the closeness to public transport and an easy ride to the more expensive Canary Wharf.

£88 for one night on a Saturday, which I’d say is pretty good value for London. Location: The hotel is in a pretty run-down area, basically next to a council estate, and it didn’t feel 100% safe at night. Also worth noting that some of the surrounding-area photos on Hotels.com appear to be AI-generated, so don’t expect it to look like the pictures. The DLR is only around a 5-minute walk away, which is great. However, there isn’t much locally. It took us around 15 minutes to find a pub, and most of the ones showing on the map had closed down. It was then around 25 minutes to walk to the start of Liverpool Street. Room: Spacious and reasonably clean, with hangers and a good fan. However, the pillows were awful. They felt like cheap foam that had broken down into little balls, and I woke up with a sore neck. The window didn’t shut properly, the bathroom door was jammed, there was no bin and the extra door lock was broken. The shower was the biggest problem. It kept getting stuck between temperatures and at one point I genuinely thought I was going to be boiled alive. I couldn’t properly turn it off or change the temperature. Service: Basic but fine. We paid on arrival and were given the key and access code. Overall, I don’t want to completely slate the hotel because £88 for a Saturday night in London is cheap, and some of the issues are more about the location than the hotel itself. That said, I personally wouldn’t stay again. If you’re 20–30 and want to go out in central

This is a basic motel. As long as you aren’t expecting luxury or modern amenities, it’s okay. There are no elevators, it’s not accessible if you have mobility issues. The staff are nice and it was easy to get the train or a bus to go sightseeing. It’s okay for a short stay.
