The whole building appears to have been abandoned for some time. It is visibly deteriorating and inside has clearly not been cleaned or maintained to any acceptable standard. Dirt, grime, and clutter were present throughout the property. The worn-out furniture and deteriorating décor, combined with an insecure bedroom door lock and questionable ground-floor windows, also made me feel very uncomfortable about the property's security. The kitchen was particularly unpleasant. The breakfast food left out appeared to have been recycled enough mornings to raise serious hygiene concerns. The person presenting themselves as the “manager” was, however, very keen for me to leave a positive review. As a guest, my suggestion would be simple: hire a cleaner—and perhaps address the security and maintenance issues while you're at it.

I wasn't expecting The Ritz but when I arrived at just after 5pm, there was no member of staff on reception but a print out of guests' names, their assigned rooms and the keys. The full names were printed out but the first names were scribbled out badly with biro - for privacy, I'm guessing! On my way to my room, I passed the office. The door was wide open, no one was in and it was a tip with paper all over the place. Impression so far - not great. The room was fine, clean but not well maintained. No remote for the TV and no one to ask about it. It did lock well, though, so I felt secure. It's a two star accommodation - set your expectations accordingly!!!

Never stayed in a more dirty room, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling with spiders, the sink still had toothpaste in from the last person, the shower didn’t drain and was all wet and brown from the last use when I arrived, the shower door didn’t close so the bathroom was very wet after my shower. Every time I used the water there was an awful smell of drains/mould. There was mould everywhere. The toilet was dirty including the seat. There was no one to check me in even though I was within the time that the desk was supposed to be manned. My name was written on a scrap bit of paper for everyone to see which room I was in along with everyone else checking in that evening. I did not feel at all safe.
