unfortunately the negative is that there is no onsite parking. you have to keep moving your car from off the street to pay and display carparks which are very close but not cheap, £5 to £6 for a few hours, it soon mounts up if you staying for a few days. Overall a well appointed property with a fantastic garden area.

We only had a few days and One Holyrood was the perfect location in Newport. It was easy to find and 5 mins walk from the bus station. Lovely room and very friendly staff. The included breakfast was excellent. One Holyrood is a cafe during the day and closed in the evening. There are many nearby restaurants and pubs serving food

The room was comfortable and spacious and breakfast was good - my partner particularly enjoyed the breakfast. It was nice having a separate bath and walk in shower. There were some facilities maintenance issues around the room and hotel e.g. carpet flapping off the steep stairs in places, creating a trip hazard; a black dent in the bath enamel where someone had clearly dropped something previously, a discoloured worktop around the sink which might have been water damage, and slightly tired paintwork in the room. For the price charged, we would have expected these issues to be repaired, but we do understand the difficulties of balancing the books these days. The room must’ve been wonderful when first done. Having said that, compared to the other accommodation available at short notice on the island, this was better than most places and in a similar price bracket. We enjoyed our stay and slept well.

As an Expedia user, who has booked multiple hotels over the years, I have never had a situation where having booked 2 rooms, to pay at property, the full payment was taken before check-in and without my knowledge. On arrival it was abruptly pointed out that it is their policy to take payment early against the card used on Expedia. I was shocked that the payment for both rooms (booked in 2 different names) was taken. It’s worth knowing this! Reception closes c7pm and there’s no bar facility once they’ve gone. Our room didn’t have any information, so no wi-fi code. On the plus side it’s clean, central and easy to find.

A little gem, beautifully appointed throughout. Room 10 comes with a large pink bathroom which includes a bath the length of which I had not yet encountered, a toilet built like a tank (double hinged toilet seat and cover) and a mahusive walk-in shower large enough to fit big foot. At breakfast (included) we opted for fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, a croissant (still warm and crispy) and well cooked full English with more options available. And yes, the beds are comfortable, I managed to clock 8hrs. Needless to say, I'll be back...

My fiancée and I recently had the most wonderful stay in Newport. The building itself is truly stunning, steeped in history that added a unique charm to our experience. Beyond the beautiful architecture, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We were also particularly impressed with their breakfast service – the selection and quality were truly outstanding and a delightful start to each day. We left feeling refreshed and with fantastic memories of our time here. Highly recommend for a truly special and memorable stay!

We only had a few days and One Holyrood was the perfect location in Newport. It was easy to find and 5 mins walk from the bus station. Lovely room and very friendly staff. The included breakfast was excellent. One Holyrood is a cafe during the day and closed in the evening. There are many nearby restaurants and pubs serving food

Lovely hotel in the centre of town. Really beautiful garden at the back where you can eat, have a cocktail or chill. Super convenient and the staff are super lovely and friendly.

The ensuite apartment is located at another building, just 2 mins walk from the reception. it is well equipped and very beautiful decoration. We had good time staying here. My mistake I overlooked that breakfast is not included, and it is not allowed to pay extra for the breakfast which disappointed us.

We had a nice stay, Hotels.com duped us a bit as they said breakfast was included yet it wasn’t! Trying to take this up with them unsuccessfully so we won’t book through them again!

My fiancée and I recently had the most wonderful stay in Newport. The building itself is truly stunning, steeped in history that added a unique charm to our experience. Beyond the beautiful architecture, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We were also particularly impressed with their breakfast service – the selection and quality were truly outstanding and a delightful start to each day. We left feeling refreshed and with fantastic memories of our time here. Highly recommend for a truly special and memorable stay!

Entertaining stay! The hotel itself is really nice, it's very clean and tidy throughout, which is so important to me personally. My room was roomy and had all that I required for a one night stay, even longer would have been fine also. the bathroom while a mixture of modern and old fashioned, again was fine for my stay, it had a lovely walking show fitted with a rain head, which was all very nice, toilet & sink though were a horrid pink, bit functional, although the cold tap had to be turned in the wrong directionion to make it work, which is like to see replaced with a new set, so they worked as expected. Breakfast was excellent, the quality of the produce used was excellent and this alone would make me return for another stopover, which I shall. My only criticism is that the fire alarm went off just after midnight, which turned into a right nightmare, as there was noone on site form the hotel itself, so 4 of us were left to try and resolve the problem, which resulted in the fire brigade having to attend and reassure us that we could rest easy for the rest of the night, what a bloody pain that was in the early hours.
