Lovely traditional B & B in the heart of Weymouth. Really busy on arrival so no onsite parking was a bit of a pain. That said our room 12 on the 3rd floor was cute, clean and had everything we needed with a sea view from a small top floor window. Unfit people (like us) or with poor mobility would find the 3 flights of stairs a challenge. Floor 2 had the optimum sea views where you’d be able to sit on the small balcony watching the world go by. Breakfast was brilliant, wide choice nicely presented, perfectly poached egg and as much as you wanted. Really nice, warm couple who deserve to do well. Highly recommend. P. S. Stumbled on the Sea Beats Seafood Bistro. Turn right out of the B & B, blue shack on the same side of the road. Unpretentious little place who served the best seafood I’ve ever had, fabulous food!

Nice Small Classic English hotel, very welcoming, right on the beach front. Nice room , tastefully done. Was concerned that parking was at the rear of the property on a pay and display car park, but turned out to not be an issue. Had room on top floor, you need good legs to get up the stairs . Excellent breakfast .

Wonderful hotel. Close to the train station. Across from the beach. Very good hot breakfast and good selection of cold items. Only negative is the lack of an elevator if your room is on the top floor.

This was our second stay at The Cumberland, excellent as before! We book a family room number 7, it’s very quiet with a rear view over the town, spacious, light and very cosy. I normally don’t pay a particular attention to toiletries but they are so good at The Cumberland so I had to google and order for my home. Hosts are wonderful, breakfast yummy and central location. They provide parking permit if you can find a spot near the hotel. We’ll be back!

Really friendly hosts, really clean hotel and room and good choices for breakfast. However, those with mobility issues will struggle with the stairs, with the breakfast room being an extra flight. A couple of minor issues with light bulbs not working and spotty tv reception. Otherwise a great stay and will stay again if im ever in Weymouth

Hotel location was ideal - right on Weymouth beach, close to the town. Staff were friendly and warm in person, though we were disappointed to have had a phone conversation with a very moody member of staff before our arrival, who unhelpfully told us we couldn't use the parking permits advertised when we booked. Disappointing, as nearby parking was one of the key reasons we selected the hotel. As luck would have it, the public car park behind the hotel, though small, was cheaper than the hotel permits! Still not chuffed to have been let down by the hotel. The room was 3rd floor, and small but sweet. Clean other than some flies trapped and dead in the lampshades. Beautiful sea view though - really stunning, even without a veranda. The room was well stocked, and cosy. The main physical downside was our shower was v v small - my 6ft boyfriend had to bend down to wash his hair. It was the little things that let it down a bit - bed was odd, it kept puffing up, lifting our legs in the air? The tv remote rattled and had to be hit on the hand to make it work. One bedside lamp didnt work. The bedside clock didn't work. The sink sometimes didn't clear, and only flushing the v loud masticating toilet cleared it. Very bizarre. Breakfast smelt great but was served a bit too early - we kept missing it!! Would maybe consider coming again if passing through, and the room was a good price.

Great location on the Esplanade & within easy access to the train station. Our room & the public areas were all very clean. Lots of storage space in our room with plenty of towels/face cloths provided. Lovely shower gel & hand/body lotion provided too. The breakfast selection was very impressive with a good range of hot & cold items and we were made to feel very welcome by our hosts. Would have absolutely no problem in returning to the Cumberland!!

Great stay at The Cumberland, couldn’t have asked for more. The location is spot on for a weekend in Weymouth with plenty of parking around. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly from the get go. We had a clean, modern and comfortable room. The breakfast and service was brilliant. All in all, ticks all the boxes.

It was very will situated, clean, excellent breakfast menu. Plus very friendly. Just book lower floor if you have a problem with stairs. It was no problem for us even being on 3rd floor.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at The Cumberland. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with plenty of storage, and a lovely sea view. The hotel felt modern, and tastefully decorated. Tea, coffee, and biscuits etc provided daily. Worth a special mention was the breakfast, which was beautifully prepared and delicious. Mark and Claire were very friendly and the perfect hosts. This was our second stay here and the only thing that will prevent us staying here again will be if it’s fully booked.

This accommodation is just perfect. The beach across the road and the town walking distance away. The breakfast is great, catering for all diets. The rooms are spotless and the staff are brilliant. I would recommend the Cumberland to all.

I had a lovely stay at the Cumberland Hotel. Mike, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was impressive—everything was thoughtfully arranged, from the plentiful extra towels to the little surprises like sweet treats, drinkable bottled water, and even a pair of binoculars in the drawer! The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, and the hot shower was just what I needed after a long day. The only downsides were things outside the hotel's control. There was some road noise between 10:00 and midnight due to the busy seafront location, and the beds could have been more comfortable. Still, these were minor issues compared to the overall experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming stay with great attention to detail.

Great breakfast, great location and host. We chose not to have our room made up. When we came back after a day out a bag on our door with coffee, toilet rolls, biscuits etc left. Really really impressed with this hotel, the owners were really friendly when we arrived and showed us to our room which was really nice and clean, with lots of added touches that were unexpected. Hotel location was ideal - right on Weymouth beach, close to the town. Staff were friendly and warm in person, though we were disappointed to have had a phone conversation with a very moody member of staff before our arrival, who unhelpfully told us we couldn't use the parking permits advertised when we booked. Disappointing, as nearby parking was one of the key reasons we selected the hotel. As luck would have it, the public car park behind the hotel, though small, was cheaper than the hotel permits! Still not chuffed to have been let down by the hotel. The room was 3rd floor, and small but sweet. Clean other than some flies trapped and dead in the lampshades. Beautiful sea view though - really stunning, even without a veranda. The room was well stocked, and cosy. The main physical downside was our shower was v v small - my 6ft boyfriend had to bend down to wash his hair. It was the little things that let it down a bit - bed was odd, it kept puffing up, lifting our legs in the air? The tv remote rattled and had to be hit on the hand to make it work. One bedside lamp didnt work. The bedside clock didn't work. The sink sometimes didn't clear, and only flushing the v loud masticating toilet cleared it. Very bizarre. Breakfast smelt great but was served a bit too early - we kept missing it!! Would maybe consider coming again if passing through, and the room was a good price.

Great stay at The Cumberland, couldn’t have asked for more. The location is spot on for a weekend in Weymouth with plenty of parking around. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly from the get go. We had a clean, modern and comfortable room. The breakfast and service was brilliant. All in all, ticks all the boxes.

Nice Small Classic English hotel, very welcoming, right on the beach front. Nice room , tastefully done. Was concerned that parking was at the rear of the property on a pay and display car park, but turned out to not be an issue. Had room on top floor, you need good legs to get up the stairs . Great location on the Esplanade & within easy access to the train station. Our room & the public areas were all very clean. Lots of storage space in our room with plenty of towels/face cloths provided. Lovely shower gel & hand/body lotion provided too. The breakfast selection was very impressive with a good range of hot & cold items and we were made to feel very welcome by our hosts. Would have absolutely no problem in returning to the Cumberland!!

Lovely stay. A very friendly and welcoming reception from Mark, and our room immediately available. The room was beautifully presented, clean and warm. Breakfast again beautifully presented with cereal, fresh yogurt, fresh fruit and berries and a fantastic cooked breakfast too. The only slight negative being that the room was really too warm for our liking.

In my opinion The Cumberland is a jewel. So so clean. Cleanest hotel l have been in for a very long time. The breakfast. Spoiled for choice. There was something for everyone. The bathroom and bedroom spotless. Amenities in the room were good and plentiful. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits. I have already booked in for next year. I think that is recommendation.

The rooms was very well maintained and were cleaned during the times we went out. The owner was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The breakfast was fantastic it was cooked to order and if you didn't want that, then there was a continental breakfast available too. The location of the hotel is ideal for those who want a close proximity to the beach and the town centre. If we are in the area again for another few nights stay, then we would return!
