A good location from which to walk into the historic city centre of Cambridge. Very clean and simple room, providing all that I needed. Only downside is no lift and rather tricky narrow stairs. I was a bit surprised on checking out that there were 3 staff in reception who just looked at me struggling down the stairs with my big case and offered no help. That was the only downside.

A two night stay after arriving from the States before visiting family in the area. Very easy check in after 28 hours of travel. Comfortable room, no noise inside or outside the hotel to disturb us. Great ‘continental breakfast’ and interesting neighbor to explore with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We would recommend ‘Olive Grove’ on Regent Street for delicious Greek food. The only negative for us were the steep narrow stairways up to our room. Hard to navigate with suitcases. No elevators.

Booked a small double which was perfect for overnight stay. Walking distance in to town. We managed to get one of the five free parking bays which was great.

Nice property located a reasonable walk from the city center. Staff helped bring the baggage to the room and very helpful on questions regarding the city. The breakfast provided is very complete non cooked continental type, no option for an English cooked breakfast. Parking on site is only 5 or 6 spots, all others will have to fend for themselves on the street. We were lucky when we arrived, and did not move the car during our stay.

This was my third stay at this hotel, I like it because it is comfortable and spotlessly clean, it has everything you need for a short stay and is very good value for money in such a great location, a short walk from the city centre. The staff are also very nice.

Upon my arrival at the hotel, I encountered a disappointing experience at the front desk. The staff member, appeared to communicate in a somewhat dismissive manner. When I inquired about the possibility of checking in early, her response was less than accommodating. After some discussion, she permitted the early check-in, but I was assigned to a room that was not properly serviced; it was unclean and lacked adequate heating, leaving it extremely cold. Despite my efforts to adjust the heating settings, the room remained uncomfortable. When I expressed my concerns, the response I received suggested that I simply use additional blankets, which did not address my discomfort. As a result of this unsatisfactory experience, I made the decision to relocate to a different hotel that prioritizes guest comfort and cleanliness. The Expedia app malfunctioned, preventing me from finalizing the cancellation until after the applicable window had closed. Overall, this experience has been quite disappointing, and I have decided not to return to this hotel or consider any of its affiliated partners in the future. While I wish I could rate my experience lower than one star, that is the minimum rating available.

Good hotel in a nice location. The room was much bigger and nicer than we had expected. Plus there was the added bonus of being able to park at the front at no charge - a great perk for the centre of Cambridge. Easy to walk everywhere. Helpful staff. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner, especially around the bath/shower, but it was OK. The bed itself needs a new mattress but everything else in the room was to a high standard.

A very old building. Victorian era, which means its 100 years old. No elevator so you have to lug your bags up 2 flights of narrow stairs. The desk clerk will only offer to help after they see you struggling. But the worst part was the room. Or in my case, attic. And that's what it was a converted attic. Slanted floor and all. I never got accustomed to walking in it because the slant was so bad. The floor has to drop at least 2 inches from the outer wall to the inner wall.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. We only stayed for one night. I think I'd look for somewhere else to stay if we were looking or a multiple night break. Unfortunately our room was in the basement directly next to the street so the room felt very dark and claustrophobic as we had to keep the curtains closed to avoid passers by looking in. It was also extremely hot, even with the radiator turned off, so we had to sleep with the window open which made the room very noisy and we felt a little on edge with passers by so close to our room. The bed was also extremely springy which made for an uncomfortable night sleep, and it was on wheels so it moved a lot and made a very loud squeaking noise. The room was nicely decorated, however, overall I expected a bit more for the money we paid.

Old bed, very old furniture which has been hand painted to "modernise" it, well worn carpet, pokey little bathroom, door that doesn't fit the frame so light stands in from the corridor all night. Dead batteries in the TV remote. On the upside the hotel is close to the city centre and the room has air conditioning.

The shower temperature was at best, tepid. Haven't ever experienced this in a hotel with a 3 star AA rated hotel. A big disappointment ! Not a very nice guy on Reception last night; he preferred chatting to someone who wasn't a resident than check me in. Again, disappointing. As a lone female, I won't be back, sadly.

The Lensfield has an excellent location for central Cambridge. It’s an old property but well maintained; bedding is pristine, room warm & comfortable though modest in size. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Good value in a hyper tourist hub.

This is a pleasant affordable hotel in Cambridge. Close to the city centre and local attractions. It can be quite loud in rooms due to the busy road outside. There is no air con. The staff are great and super helpful all the time and they really make the stay go well.

It's always nice to stay at the Lensfield, though it is probably right at the very top of its price bracket. Very convenient to access central Cambridge. Due to its location, there are a few parking spaces available, but if you want one, try and get there early. Breakfast is only a continental buffet, but there's lots there and its good quality. I've never used the spa facilities though, so can't comment on those.

As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The room was lovely, plenty of choice at breakfast. We will happily stay again when next in Cambridge.

Unpretentious, basic, but friendly, efficient, and clean. A reasonably priced stay and a good, reasonably priced continental breakfast. Cambridge is devilishly expensive, and the hotel was a welcome exception.

Booked as a Easter break, hotel location was good for city centre, but the hotel bed was like sleeping on a wooden plank, the hot water in the shower was non existent, although we did not bother complaining. We went for the continental breakfast at £12.50 pp and there were out of date yogurts, which we pointed out.

Good hotel, conveniently located half-way between the centre and the train station. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast wasn't a full English but was good quality. I would happily return.

Nice property located a reasonable walk from the city center. Staff helped bring the baggage to the room and very helpful on questions regarding the city. The breakfast provided is very complete non cooked continental type, no option for an English cooked breakfast. Parking on site is only 5 or 6 spots, all others will have to fend for themselves on the street. We were lucky when we arrived, and did not move the car during our stay.

An excellent location for walking around Cambridge. Room was small but that is expected with the age of the building. Otherwise the room was very nice. Breakfast buffet was nice too. I really enjoyed my stay.

Hotel very close to the main sights of Cambridge and room was comfortable. Bathroom- especially shower- was tiny. Other negative was the breakfast. Very little protein - mostly bread products. And lots of packaging: muffins and waffles in individual packages. However, value good for an expensive town.

Un hôtel très bien placé à Cambridge, pile entre le centre-ville et la gare. Le prix est fort honnête pour la ville. Le confort était basique mais suffisant. Le buffet de petit déjeuner était tout à fait correct. Un seul bémol : le bâtiment n'est absolument pas insonorisé, on entend tout, donc on entend les autres clients marcher, discuter, claquer les portes... tard dans la nuit et tôt le matin. Boules quies à prévoir si vous êtes sensibles au bruit !

The hotel staff were excellent , efficient and more than helpful. A request for a certain type of room at the last moment was accommodated . The centre of town was within walking distance and I'm a 73 year old in reasonable health. Quiet area.

Our stay was pleasant and we found the location perfect for walking to see the sites in Cambridge. Our only issue was that the room was not air conditioned and we happened to be there during a heat wave but that normally not be an issue I think.
