This was an outstanding place to visit, friendly helpful staff from the start and throughout our stay. Comfortable warm room, really comfy bed and pillows. Food in the Restaurant was so delicious and the breakfasts were really well prepared. The car park was a little tight and fills up quite quickly but you can park on the road outside for a period of time. We would definitely love to return.

The family room with a double bed and bunk beds for the children was a good size. The hotel even provided a Z bed free of charge for our 6`2" son in case he could not fit into the bunk bed. The food, bar and location are all perfect. The staff were so accomodating as we had a dog with us. Very dog freindly throughout. Unfortunately, the room had no A/C and limited window opening. To be expected in an old building. So the night was hot and uncomfortable despite two fans provided. That`s nature. We liked the Hotel, meal and staff.

Stayed at the Lawn Rooms around the corner from Feathers. Nuisance having to walk through town for breakfast. Self service at Lawns. No WiFi which was also a nuisance as this was a business trip. No amount of apology can resolve the bother. Shame the Lawns has been converted into rooms but I guess this is the Chestnut Groups way of maximising profit. Dogs everywhere in the Feathers even yapping in the breakfast room which was extremely annoying. As someone with a dog allergy this is stressful. Can we have at least one mealtime without dogs spoiling the atmosphere?

Great location in the centre of beautiful Holt. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well equipped with pod type coffee machines. Parking is a little limited. Food (dinner and breakfast) was very good.

Great location in lovely Holt. Small car park so could not park one evening ( selfish guests had parked their vehicles with too much room or we could have got another in). Staff were lovely, breakfast was really good and meals were a mix of very good and average. Drinks expensive. Bed comfy with nice sheets pillows and towels. Very dog friendly.

Ideal central position for exploring north east Norfolk. The Feathers is a lovely place and the staff were friendly. The room was very comfortable but it is in need of refurbishment. They need to let dog owners know that they need to control their dogs and stop them barking. The evening menu needs more variety to suit all tastes.

Enjoyed my stay. A few nice touches like good quality tea bags in the room, rainfall walkin shower and great staff. Arrive early if you want to park. Easy walk to everywhere in Holt.

A fabulous base for Christmas shopping around Holt. The beautiful building is full of historical character, and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Although the vibe was rural shabby chic, details like mould on the bathroom ceiling, a leaky shower door, and flaking paint in the conservatory suggest that the same level of attention to detail given to staff training, and food quality, is not given to repairs and maintenance. Good, but not great.

Great location , lovely welcoming staff , clean , extra added touches , coffee machine in room , range of teas and hot chocolate , milk available in communal fridge , fabulous breakfast , nothing too much trouble , with definitely book again , thank you to all the staff for our lovely stay

Room not soundproofed; dogs allowed in rooms/restaurant - didn't realise this before booking. Room didn't have hanger space for clothes. Poor attention to housekeeping e.g. not restocking preferred teabags, failure to check /replace lightbulbs despite asking. coffee machine instructions poor if unfamiliar with these. Advertised as luxury room but it was not up to standard nor value for the money. Breakfast ok.

Room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable with ;plenty of pillows. The bathroom was spotless. All the staff i met were courteous and took the time to ensure all needs were met.

We had a lovely stay at The Feathers. The room itself was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We decided to have an evening meal as we liked the pub area when we checked in. The food was excellent and good value too. Breakfast in the morning was equally good with lots of choices.

Sooo Clean and white fluffy towels. Comfy bed and fresh fresh linen . Duvet a perfect balance of weight and warmth . Breakfast great choice and well presented . Sunday roast was good ish but a little uncooked on the roast pots and parsnips -fabulous red cabbage tho and the enormous yorkshire pudding was a tad hard It was a small room adequate for one and a short stay Overall the good far out weighed the little niggles . It was a last minute booking so I was pleased that it was a very comfortable stay Loys of space in eateries Brilliant staff. Very welcoming . Just no lift up the strange levels a tad heavy for suitcase for an oldie but manageble .

The room was not big, but was comfortable and had everything you needed. The bathroom was very modern and excellent. Breakfast was very nice with a good hot buffet, fresh fruit, cereals and toast. There were only two complaints. The reception was not manned and you had to shout to get someone to come. A bell would be nicer. The room was facing the sun and the windows were open. Fine, but if the shade had been closed the room would have kept cooler. Not often that Holt is around 30C and they had provided a fan, but it was very hot. Not really their fault, but it did make it difficult to sleep. There were two radiators, so it will be nice and warm in winter. Overall - very good.

Compact room thin walls can here everything shower ok toilet not very good but all surpassed by very friendly and helpful staff and our evening meal was fantastic the lamb was very nice need to improve parking I had to park in the street car park was full so was the lawns need number plate recognition but overall would stay again

Stayed in room 17 of the Lawns annexe, a few minutes walk from the hotel. Room was large, quiet with superking bed and nice walkin shower. Parking on site. Breakfast was good and all staff friendly and helpful. Fresh milk for tea always a nice touch Would have been handy to offer an umbrella in room as walk to hotel in rain not ideal Would certainly return

We managed to get a room at a much more reasonable rate than this hotel is usually available for and what we got was good value for money. The staff were very friendly, the room was small but cosy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The only reason for not giving five stars was that the room was far too hot, so I didn't get much sleep.

Great stay but i wouldn't choose the room we had again out of choice due to it being on the main road and by a crossing. This may not be an issue for most people but i am an incredibly light sleeper. Menu was small but fine for our two night stay. Food was pretty good. Breakfast on the second morning was much better than the first, fruit salad for example had a better selection. Staff were love and welcoming. There was a superb selection of wine by the glass.

We booked to stay in the Lawn rooms, just a short walk from the Father's pub and main building. The room was in a very pretty cabin, very spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't hany any heating or hot water at all for our first night, so the staff kindly moved us to another room, this time in the main pub building. Room was large and comfortable although not as pretty as the Lawn room we were first in, road noise was also quite loud. Personally, if you are happy to walk 2 mins, I would reccomend you stay in the lawn rooms. Much prettier, lighter and quieter. Staff were very helpful and friendly, evening meal in the pub was good. Breakfast was OK. Good quality cooked breakfast but not much of continental option, only toast and cereal. No pastries offered. Coffee was very good. All in all a great location to stay in. Holt is very pretty and has lots of cafes and shops, but keep in ming not much is open on a Sunday. A great base to explore other nearby towns.

Excellent comfortable large room. TV reception was a bit variable - loose aerial. Nice touch of coffee machine, kettle, coffee, teas and fresh milk available. Annex pleasant with good parking but about 4 to 5 mins walk from main building. Unfortunately was given dirty cutlery in restaurant on first night (immediately changed) and advised Amex not accepted in restaurant on third night. It was after I showed that I paid with Amex the previous two nights. Breakfasts excellent. Great value via Hotels.Com. and staff friendly and helpful. Would go again.

The checkin was great. Staff could not have been more helpful. The room was really lovely - big with a large bathroom with lovely big fluffy towels and good quality shower, shampoo and conditioner lotions. We had dinner which was very good.

Stayed in ‘The Lawns’ building. Checked in at the Feather’s and nice warm welcome. Great building. Offered fresh milk to take to our room. Had dinner in ‘The Feather’s’. Top service from Peter. Had breakfast there too. We’ll be back again for sure. 10/10!

Parking wasn’t possible on site. I can’t really say that I’d recommend the hotel. Our first room was very dreary so we moved and although it was more nicely decorated it was teeny tiny and. Squash for two adults. Dinner was very good. Service excellent considering how clearly short staffed they were. Breakfast was well below par. Definitely not a place I’d return to in a hurry.

I stay with the chestnut group of pubs and hotels a lot over the years. This was a terrible experience and the worst stay I think we have ever had. We stayed 2 nights. With breakfast and dinner. We were given room 6. I can say it was dirty. With a kitchen extractor fan outside our window. It stunk and woke us at 6am. The bottles from pub and next door department store were to be heard from 6.15am. The Lorrie’s coming through the gates to the store. Breakfast was ordered as poached egg on toast. Egg turned up and we had to do our own toast. Arrived on Tuesday night. No parking places and even worse. We’re told to wait 2 hours for a table for dinner. Awful experience and I could go on and on. I am gutted as I love this group and there pubs. Absolutely ruined our trip to a point of my wife was in tears.

Great location. Hotel rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. Short walk for breakfast from the Lawns rooms which is okay unless it’s pouring with rain! ☔️ Breakfast is tasty with quite good choices. Only slight criticism...hot plates would be better to keep breakfast hot.

Stayed in room 17 of the Lawns annexe, a few minutes walk from the hotel. Room was large, quiet with superking bed and nice walkin shower. Parking on site. Breakfast was good and all staff friendly and helpful. Tram were fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious. The only downside qas staying in the lawns rooms, the shower was not really fit for purpose as the showerhead was not angles and just pelted you in the face! This is the only criticism. The other room facilities were OK.

Great location, lovely building, our cozy double was very comfortable and dog vera welcomed and catered for. Only negative comment tv wasn’t connecting . Didn’t request assistance as only one night stay. A radio provided could have made up for it. Staff hiwever lovely and helpful. Food delicious.

Great stay but i wouldn't choose the room we had again out of choice due to it being on the main road and by a crossing. This may not be an issue for most people but i am an incredibly light sleeper. Menu was small but fine for our two night stay. Food was pretty good. Breakfast on the second morning was much better than the first, fruit salad for example had a better selection. Staff were love and welcoming. There was a superb selection of wine by the glass.

We enjoyed our stay at The Feathers, and would certainly recommend it. The was clean, the food was delicious, particularly the breakfasts and the staff were friendly. When booking the room, the Hotels.com website showed it as not providing towels, but it did, and I advised management, so hopefully that has been corrected. The only negative point which will likely be standard across most Hotels this time of year, is the radiators in the bathroom weren’t on, so there was nothing to dry our wet beach clothes etc. on. Apart from that it was thoroughly enjoyable.

The room is not quiet. You can here people flushing the toilet next door and you can hear anything that's happening outside the room. The breakfast is nice and cooked quickly. I wouldn't eat dinner at restaurant again.

This was our second time here for an overnight stay Parking is good Room was spotless and lively toiletries Staff throughout were lovely, friendly and helpful We had a Sunday roast and breakfast at the Feathers both delicious We had a much larger room the first time and room 19 small in comparison but still lovely Only suggestion we would make is for music during dinner and breakfast as when other customers are seated close to you, you can easily hear each other’s conversation Highly recommended
