Very welcoming and friendly staff. The room was modern and well equipped, very clean and comfortable. Food and drinks were of a high standard. We would definately stay here again.

Fantastic two day stay here. Couldn't fault it. Fab & friendly sraff. The food was excellent. My partner and I both agreed that the full English breakfast on a very cold winters day in front of the roaring fire was really first class - possibly the best breakfast ever! Room was lovely, very comfortable. Beautiful little village. Well worth a visit!

The pub was great, cosy and food was fantastic as well as being reasonably priced. The staff are polite and very welcoming and provided lots of help throughout our stay. The room was very clean and tidy and comfortable. We will definitely be staying again and recommend this hotel to anyone. We are not dog owners but its extremely dog friendly.

Hotel was close to Vindolanda and walking on Hadrians Wall where we spent our day. Dinner at the pub and the breakfast included was one of the best full-English meals we've had on our 3week journey in the UK. Room was newly remodeled and very comfy beds.

The Bowes Hotel is a lovely hotel and pub in a small village near Hadrian's Wall. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, fresh, and renovated within last 5 years. My friend stated if she could pack the bathroom in her suitcase and take it home she would! And, we had a lovely view of their garden. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely Hotel, surrounding area beautiful too. Close to Gateshead & A69, but so peaceful. Rooms are lovely, and food and service to match , will return for sure.

Superb relaxing stay at the Bowes Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The food was excellent, all home made and plenty of choice on offer. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans which made my day! All the Thai dishes on the menu are authentic and very good. The Thai mains can be made vegan or vegetarian with tofu or quorn. The breakfast was also brilliant with plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. They cooked me a full vegan breakfast and supplied me with oat milk for my coffee and cereal and vegan spread for my toast. They certainly made a real effort to accommodate my dietary needs. The hotel is spotless and the bedrooms are finished to a very high standard. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the shower nice and powerful. The train station is a stone throw away and the location is perfect for exploring Northumberland. I will definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to my family and friends. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

The hotel building seemed very old, but the inside has been very well modernised. Everything about our room was excellent. We had a very good evening meal and a super breakfast. It must be one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have ever stayed in

Friendly and welcoming staff. The room was clean and spacious. The food was lovely at both breakfast and dinner. Would have given 5 stars but the bed was a little uncomfortable and mattress could do with being replaced.

We had a lovely time here. We were driven to the starting point of the walk by Catherine, who was fab. Food was delicious, and the room was very cosy and clean.

From start to finish the customer service was fantastic , and will highly recommend the food it’s amazing , unfortunately we couldn’t sample the breakfast as we was leaving early in the morning , however they knocked us up a takeaway lunch ( Spot on too👍) If I was in the area again I will be looking to stay there again .

Superb relaxing stay at the Bowes Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The food was excellent, all home made and plenty of choice on offer. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans which made my day! All the Thai dishes on the menu are authentic and very good. The Thai mains can be made vegan or vegetarian with tofu or quorn. The breakfast was also brilliant with plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. They cooked me a full vegan breakfast and supplied me with oat milk for my coffee and cereal and vegan spread for my toast. They certainly made a real effort to accommodate my dietary needs. The hotel is spotless and the bedrooms are finished to a very high standard. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the shower nice and powerful. The train station is a stone throw away and the location is perfect for exploring Northumberland. I will definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to my family and friends. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location close to famous sites like hadrians wall. The hotel is very clean, friendly and has good food. Next door to the hotel is a brilliant pottery place. It is very reasonably priced and great for gifts.

We were in the area to visit Hadrian's wall. This hotel is an ideal base and close to many sites. Comfortable room and great food for breakfast and dinner. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again.

Hotel was close to Vindolanda and walking on Hadrians Wall where we spent our day. Dinner at the pub and the breakfast included was one of the best full-English meals we've had on our 3week journey in the UK. Room was newly remodeled and very comfy beds.

Lovely Hotel, surrounding area beautiful too. Close to Gateshead & A69, but so peaceful. Rooms are lovely, and food and service to match , will return for sure.

Fantastic two day stay here. Couldn't fault it. Fab & friendly sraff. The food was excellent. My partner and I both agreed that the full English breakfast on a very cold winters day in front of the roaring fire was really first class - possibly the best breakfast ever! Room was lovely, very comfortable. Beautiful little village. Well worth a visit!

Lovely place to stay and visit Vindolanda and Hadrians wall. Thai food and breakfast were faultless, nicely decorated rooms and comfy beds. The staff were really friendly with a fantastic sense of humour. Can't wait to come again! Thank you

We were walking Hadrian's Wall. Great evening. Room spotless. Slept really well. Fantastic and enormous breakfast. Arranged a left up to our starting point.

A special thanks to the team here - I'd gotten lost walking the wall (a recurring theme on this trip). They called me as dark approached, and sent someone out to find me and pick me up - a not-quite-so-uncommon occurrence from what I was told. They even kept the kitchen open a bit late for me, which I sincerely appreciated. The food (breakfast and dinner) was also excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and I was provided with directions and a steer back to the trail the next morning. They really go above-and-beyond here.

Absolutely top recommendation for The Bowes Hotel! Everything was perfect, great room (Pottery Room for us), great staff, great beer, great food, great location. Absolutely nothing we did not like apart from leaving. A first visit which I really hope will not be our last. Great work by the team here.
