This is a lovely hotel in beautiful location looking across the Firth of Forth. Very comfortable rooms, well equipped. Restaurant had a good choice of dishes, reasonably priced and well presented. Service was excellent. Facilities on site were good. Pool was adequate although I would not have liked to be there if it was busy. Nice wet room and sauna. Hotel is stated as 3 star but I would score it higher. Excellent location for exploring Fife or going across to Edinburgh. Only negative was that I paid for a room with a view. Technically this is what we got, but part of the view was blocked out by the height of some bushes in the grounds. Some severe pruning required!

Lovely hotel with fantastic views and short walk to beach. Room was spacious and had everything you needed. Restaurant provided excellent meals, although basic choice. Only slight down side was the pool was small and shared with caravan park so had quite a few children in it but did not detract from stay. Location was good for sightseeing in the Fife/Dundee area.

We arrived before 6pm but we’re told the only available times that we had to book for breakfast was between 8am and 8:45am! The hotel simply wasn’t 4 star although rated as such on hotels.com website. The room needed updated. The shower had a sunken shower tray which almost flooded over each time it was used and took ages for the water to drain away. There was no hot tub as advertised and the swimming pool steam room and sauna were very disappointing. When dining in the restaurant it seemed like we were on a conveyor belt being pushed along - not at all relaxing or enjoyable!

I politely let them know we were unsatisfied both during the stay and in an email afterwards. No actions were taken at all. They say ‘thank you for raising this”. Really loud music going on when we arrived and until past 11pm. We were very close to the noise though they said that if we didn’t attend the celebration they have a policy of assigning us a room far from the noise. Did not happen. They strongly advised we book a table for breakfast so as to get any food at all. The latest possible time for it was 8:30am. Almost completely empty restaurant even after 9:30 am so we were really not sure why they made us wake up early on our holiday. Restaurant closed early in the evening, we ordered Chinese which was the only option. The ceiling panels in the spa are almost falling down. The steam room was out of order. The gym requires an additional payment, no note on that on their website. Definitely not worth the steep price. Never going back. The receptionist was great though, booked us a taxi driver that took extra care that we would be at the train station on time.

The room was incredibly small we could barely walk around the bed to get to the bathroom, there was very little room for suitcases as there was only 1 bench for a single suitcase. The ocean view was of the parking lot, the road and then the ocean so their pics on line are very deceiving. Very expensive by Canadian standards. The pool closed by 9pm so we didnt get to use it.

Im sorry to say that my stay was not so good. At night there was pipe noise every so often, couldnt sleep because of this. Swimming pool area looked filthy. Something wasnt covered in the steamroom so there was a puddle of boiling water there which burned my foot. That is a massive health and safety hazard. Staff member did go to sort this out after we said something, but there was no empathy, apology or nothing. No care in the world. I screamed when this happened. Nobody bothered to even look what happened until we said something. Breakfast was cold and not nice, vegetarian option is not good could of added a veggie sausage for example. Scramble Eggs tasted like powdered eggs Coffee not good. When checking out explained our experience, but reception didnt seem bothered just seemed like wanted rid of us only said 'shame' no im sorry, not caring or empathic at all. I get it I cant expect much from a 3star hotel but everyone seemed miserable, could atlest improve try to be more apologetic and show some empathy to unhappy customer that pays to have half decent service. Came home hungry, tired and with burned foot instead of rested and happy

Rooms are cramped so little space for 2 suitcases. The pool was closed. The view was nice but not great . The beds have coil springs which you feel and they are noisy

We chose this hotel for its location for a family matter we needed to take care of. On approaching the hotel, the views across the firth were amazing!! The online check in completed a day before meant we had minimal to do at reception, with staff member being really helpful and explained that the swimming pool, gym and games area were included in the price, and xould be used as often as we liked and positively encouraged us to use it. The food served for breakfast and evening meal was fantastic. The choices for the evenings were not overwhelming so it was very easy to select something. The hotel room was very clean, super large bed and very good shower. I was so happy with this choice and would happily stay there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff very attentive and friendly. The bay was spotless. Our breakfast and evening meal were excellent.

Restaurant was very good although breakfast starting at 8am was a challenge as this was a business trip. Staff very friendly. Level of housekeeping was really disappointing. Arrived back late one night to find the bathroom had been cleaned and towels changed but the bed had not been made and bins not emptied; just not acceptable.

deluxe room with sea view.well for a start the so called sea view was part hidden by trees and a overgrown and unattended plant area,the terrace in front of the room has never been cleaned in weeks making the sitting area unpleasant.in the room itself the fridge was found to be dirty,a lot of areas had never seen duster for a while,the shower in the bathroom had lacked power upgrade to power shower required,all in all expected better.the horizon resturant is the one bright spot serving good food.

Wi fi very poor. Shower lacking in pressure. All the front facing rooms are for Families. Not as Luxurious as expected for the price paid. Room not serviced although the sign left on door. They had two weddings on so very busy. Best bit was the breakfast which was huge and possibly too much.

Very noisy the night I stayed. Could hear thumping music in my room til late & a continuous on/off of something like the boiler very loudly engulfing the room all night. So no sleep.to cap it the fire alarm went off at 8 am. Free internet didn’t work at all and you have to pay £8 a day if you want to upgrade the internet access. Hairdryer plug was dangerously loose. Family rooms get view of the bay. ‘Deluxe’ rooms get the car park. That was really disappointing. The staff were nice. I won’t stay again. Most expensive bad night I’ve had.

We made reservations for a Deluxe room with an ocean view at The Bay Hotel back in April. We were not happy to arrive in August to find we were direcrly beside a party room where there was a function that evening. We asked to be moved to another room with a view and were told the only room available was considered an upgrade and that we would have to pay to have that room. Security held upfront for breakages on a hotel room is a new one on me. Also adding charges to you room for dinner or drinks is poorly done. Wifi appeared like its turned off around 9pm and on again at 8am. Phone reception is not great either.

deluxe room with sea view.well for a start the so called sea view was part hidden by trees and a overgrown and unattended plant area,the terrace in front of the room has never been cleaned in weeks making the sitting area unpleasant.in the room itself the fridge was found to be dirty,a lot of areas had never seen duster for a while,the shower in the bathroom had lacked power upgrade to power shower required,all in all expected better.the horizon resturant is the one bright spot serving good food.

Lovely hotel but i was disappointed that the delux room had no bath and the king size bed was two beds bolted together, meaning there was a lump right down the middle. The restaurant and views were stunning!

I politely let them know we were unsatisfied both during the stay and in an email afterwards. No actions were taken at all. They say ‘thank you for raising this”. Really loud music going on when we arrived and until past 11pm. We were very close to the noise though they said that if we didn’t attend the celebration they have a policy of assigning us a room far from the noise. Did not happen. They strongly advised we book a table for breakfast so as to get any food at all. The latest possible time for it was 8:30am. Almost completely empty restaurant even after 9:30 am so we were really not sure why they made us wake up early on our holiday. Restaurant closed early in the evening, we ordered Chinese which was the only option. The ceiling panels in the spa are almost falling down. The steam room was out of order. The gym requires an additional payment, no note on that on their website. Definitely not worth the steep price. Never going back. The receptionist was great though, booked us a taxi driver that took extra care that we would be at the train station on time.

Very friendly welcome and check in. The room was spacious and had very good facilities. We used the Horizon restaurant which was excellent and we had lovely food which was good value for money and had fantastic views over the bay. Breakfast was superb too. Thanks for a wonderful overnight stay. We will be returning.

The hotel was good, but the only problem I had is that the staff at the restaurant, made us stand and wait for quite a while, as they cleaned up tables. There were lots of other tables that we could of sat at, but we had to wait and wait. Probably for about 5 minutes, which seemed a long time. The waitress wasn't very nice. But we did notice another head waitress which was very nice to the new staff.

This is a lovely hotel in beautiful location looking across the Firth of Forth. Very comfortable rooms, well equipped. Restaurant had a good choice of dishes, reasonably priced and well presented. Service was excellent. Facilities on site were good. Pool was adequate although I would not have liked to be there if it was busy. Nice wet room and sauna. Hotel is stated as 3 star but I would score it higher. Excellent location for exploring Fife or going across to Edinburgh. Only negative was that I paid for a room with a view. Technically this is what we got, but part of the view was blocked out by the height of some bushes in the grounds. Some severe pruning required!

We chose this hotel for its location for a family matter we needed to take care of. On approaching the hotel, the views across the firth were amazing!! The online check in completed a day before meant we had minimal to do at reception, with staff member being really helpful and explained that the swimming pool, gym and games area were included in the price, and xould be used as often as we liked and positively encouraged us to use it. The food served for breakfast and evening meal was fantastic. The choices for the evenings were not overwhelming so it was very easy to select something. The hotel room was very clean, super large bed and very good shower. I was so happy with this choice and would happily stay there again.

Im sorry to say that my stay was not so good. At night there was pipe noise every so often, couldnt sleep because of this. Swimming pool area looked filthy. Something wasnt covered in the steamroom so there was a puddle of boiling water there which burned my foot. That is a massive health and safety hazard. Staff member did go to sort this out after we said something, but there was no empathy, apology or nothing. No care in the world. I screamed when this happened. Nobody bothered to even look what happened until we said something. Breakfast was cold and not nice, vegetarian option is not good could of added a veggie sausage for example. Scramble Eggs tasted like powdered eggs Coffee not good. When checking out explained our experience, but reception didnt seem bothered just seemed like wanted rid of us only said 'shame' no im sorry, not caring or empathic at all. I get it I cant expect much from a 3star hotel but everyone seemed miserable, could atlest improve try to be more apologetic and show some empathy to unhappy customer that pays to have half decent service. Came home hungry, tired and with burned foot instead of rested and happy

My husband said the meal we had at high tea was the best food he has ever ate in his life! I would agree the food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional. Staff so friendly and helpful. Only issue was the air conditioner system and the bed wasnt very comfy. Minor though and we had an excellent stay. Cant wait to come back!

The room was incredibly small we could barely walk around the bed to get to the bathroom, there was very little room for suitcases as there was only 1 bench for a single suitcase. The ocean view was of the parking lot, the road and then the ocean so their pics on line are very deceiving. Very expensive by Canadian standards. The pool closed by 9pm so we didnt get to use it.
