My hometown Lakewood does not have many options for lodging. This hotel has a grear location near the Lake. All it needs is new carpet and paint to be a nice place

Although the outside of the building is old, the room was updated and clean. The beds are comfortable. The wifi was not available and I needed to make calls which cost me extra money. Wold not return and not recommend to my family and friends. Cheers

What do I even say about my stay? Photos to show just how disgusting this room was. Spider curled up on the floor next to the bed. Smooshed bug guts on the wall. The lamps, I can't imagine the last time they were wiped down. I wouldn't have touched the remote with gloves on. The coffee machine, I think hopefully just water spots but honestly just looked at it made me feel like I needed a shower. Which, speaking of the shower took 20 minutes to drain. So you'd have to stand in the water if you wanted to shower. I drove 6 hours and to my fault, I did try and check-in 30 minutes early. Instead of informing me nicely that I was 30 minutes early, the check-in staff didn't even look up at me and recited their spiel (I imagine she had to say it often, with how rude she said it) about check-in time being at 4 and that I could come back later. So I said, "Oooookay" and turned around and walked out back to the parking lot where I sat in my car awkwardly. Speaking of the parking lot, expect people coming and going, sitting in their cars, and when I got back from my concert (reason for traveling) there were cops arresting someone in the front where you enter the parking lot. Lol. "Continental breakfast"? Some raisin bran and fruit loops, 2 Aldi yogurts (no hate, I love Aldi, just saying what was in the fridge), a 2 gallon of Milk, some varieties of muffin/pound cake type breakfast bread, and cinnamon raisin bread. Oh, a waffle maker. There was an unplugged juice machine. Good luck.

I'll be amazed if this motel stays in business. The bathroom door didn't latch and the door was cracked. Wifi "hasn't worked as long as I've worked here" per the clerk. Paint peeling many places. But the night clerk Steve was great and went out of his way to try and get us what we needed. No maid service. No elevator.

At checkin I was asked for my driver’s license and credit card (even though I was prepaid), to my surprise they photocopied both. The sign in the lobby says this is the hotel policy, but it seems like a lot of personal data to share, and a big responsibility for the hotel. The WiFi is also expensive, $4 per day and requires a credit card and all information on it.

Booking this hotel so close to Lake Erie and the beach was the reason that we made the reservation. Upon entering the facility, the stale smoke smell permeated the lobby and hall as well as dealing with the dazed and confused counter attendant was pretty off-putting start to our stay in our 1st-ever trip to Cleveland. Dragging our luggage up the stairs (there's no elevator, folks!) and entering the dirty, musty hallway was just another demerit on the property. Entering the room, now that was bad! The carpet was so dirty and moldy. Both the microwave and refrigerator had food/drink residue from previous stays. Both bed comforters had stains on them. There were empty bottles and cans found under the bed as well as a lighter with other trash. The bathroom...equally as bad. Hair all over the baseboards and in the corners. Both the tub and the toilet had a ring around it. We had to go...after over 5 minutes. The desk clerk was again, nowhere to be found and when she arrived offered no help to resolve our refund. Manager and General manager can only be contacted via e-mail and not responded in over a week to numerous attempts. The hotel took our hard-earned money, kept our hard-earned money and offered no help in the matter. I repeat...DO NOT STAY HERE!

Terrible! Dirty! Stained mattress, sheets & towels. Food left in fridge, ac didn’t work, vents were nasty. Dead roaches on floor along with trash. Toilet not attached to floor. Clothes rack hanging off wall. Coffee & cups in room with no coffee maker. Free breakfast food left out all night & coffee was like hot water. Only trash can was small bathroom one. I asked for the trash to be taken out & roaches to be cleaned up & they didn’t do it. Never go here!!

Hotel was very sketchy with a lot of undesirable people around. Checked in and room was dirty with a used condom on floor, pizza boxes on bed, blood stains on carpet. Staff asked us if we wanted another hotel as she could tell me and my dad didnt belong.

It was filthy. The carpet was so dirty that I wouldn’t take my shoes off. I always check the beds in all hotels I stay in for bedbugs. Although I didn’t see any live ones, their dirt was visible on the mattress and mattress covers. When we arrived home, we went straight to the laundry mat to wash and dry everything. I would not stay here again.

The hotel room itself looked to not be cleaned. There were splatters on the wall and residue left on all surfaces. The door trim had been broken, it appears someone had successfully broken through door as there were two nails holding it together. The king bed had two top sheets, no blanket and two small pillows. The breakfast is a waffle machine that says “Do Not Use” and mini muffins purchased from the Walmart bakery. We also had issues with our room key to the point that the front desk had to let us in rather than getting us a new room.

There's a side door that is open all night long. Our room had no remote for the tv and after finding one, had consistent connectivity problems, the chain lock on the door was broken, the toilet didn't flush well and had a slight leak.

Staff didn’t communicate about a room change. Deadbolt didn’t work and night shift called police because of staff miscommunication. No towels. Toilet leaked, no lights outside. Tv didn’t work. Would not adjust bill after getting woke up at 3am.

Was told early check in was $23 when I called on Wednesday for my Saturday stay but when we arrived early we were told $100. Came back at 4 and rooms were not ready, so not sure what that $100 would have done. Girl working desk very rude, night guy drinking Busch light there. Had to leave our stuff and head out to concert. We couldn’t even get into the room until after 5! We asked them to not throw away our food/even left a note to double confirm it and they still threw it out. We had no towels and our stuff moved. They Left someone’s old tooth brush along with other trash in our room too. Our key cards didn’t work when we came back that night. Random iron board in the room. The staff was just rude and under prepared for this weekend. Breakfast is a joke there, cold stuff left opened & 2 options- cereal and old bagels…area needs cleaned. The door to our room doesn’t fit inside the frame of wall so we heard everything and light from hall came through. We will not be back. The positive? The beds were comfortable.

Run away from this hotel. After checking into room found heater unplugged and disassembled. Plugged in and sparks flew out of it. Went for second room only to find it had water damages. Third room when entering found a rock the size of a football in middle of room. Mice droppings all over toilet not working and no toilet paper told front desk I was going to another hotel she said she would issue credit. Which they did not. I quess you get what you pay for. Worse hotel I ever dealt with

1st room we were in: -Broken lamp electric cord -Air conditioner was old did not work -Room smell was musty 2nd room we were in: -Refrigerator didn't work -Microwave not plugged in -Some Lights did not work -Coffee pot in room dirty and not plugged in -Floors appeared not clean -Wall paint chipped -No shampoo in shower - there were 2 conditioners instead -Musty smell in room Breakfast area: -Dirty -Dirty rag in the sink was covered in gnats -Waffle batter was all over the cabinet and on the floor. appeared to have been there awhile. -Breakfast options slim Outside: -The Travelodge was covered by a tree -When we left in the morning there were thousands of mosquitos getting in everything and leaving blank spots on our van. Positive things: -Parking was convenient -They did now us to a second room when the first room was not acceptable. -The bed was good. -The was quick hot water in the shower

This place was bad from the start. Check in was supposed to be at 3. We arrived around 2ish. Normally the charge $20 or $25 (not sure which) to check in early & you can use card. They told us we could check in early for $100 cash. Seems super fishy. Since we didnt pay the $100, here was no check in till 4. We arrived back around 3:30 & there were multiple people waiting to check in. So instead of starting to get people in they waiting til after 4. Almost everone was there for a concert that night. We were all late. Once they started to check people in, it didnt last long as after the 1st person there were no more rooms available. How does this happen? Check out is at 11am. We are now at 430pm & no rooms are ready? When asked about some money back for any of the inconvenience, we were told NO. They arent allowed to refund. We waited for our room while others were given rooms that werent cleaned yet just to change quick and leave for the concert. We get to our room and it was just ok. It looked like a rundown room from a 90s movie. The lock on the door was missing, the bathroom still had hair in the tub and there was stains everywhere (beds, chair, curtains, bathroom shower curtain). Im glad we were only there 1 night. I honestly wouldnt recommend this place to anyone unless it was a last resort. There isnt even a bathroom in the lobby to use while you wait to check in. Travelodge, never for me again. I still think the upcharged price of $100 to check in early was a scam!!

Unfortunately I wasn't even given a room even after I've paid for one. What makes it worse is that I've booked a room at this location in the past with no issues. Late Friday night / Saturday morning I've decided to visit this location to book a room until Saturday morning. The clerk told me to book it online through Expedia or Wyndham directly. Even after doing so, still I was not granted a room and was told to wait until after 1 o clock until a manager shows. I've waited until after the designated timeframe and no one showed up. I left and later on Saturday called support to get a refund. I was told it would have to be approved by the establishment. Later the request was a refund was denied by the establishment. Unfortunately this is a terrible way to conduct business and if you value your time, energy, and money do not stay here because they will scam you out of your money.

Was told early check in was $23 when I called on Wednesday for my Saturday stay but when we arrived early we were told $100. Came back at 4 and rooms were not ready, so not sure what that $100 would have done. Girl working desk very rude, night guy drinking Busch light there. Had to leave our stuff and head out to concert. We couldn’t even get into the room until after 5! We asked them to not throw away our food/even left a note to double confirm it and they still threw it out. We had no towels and our stuff moved. They Left someone’s old tooth brush along with other trash in our room too. Our key cards didn’t work when we came back that night. Random iron board in the room. The staff was just rude and under prepared for this weekend. Breakfast is a joke there, cold stuff left opened & 2 options- cereal and old bagels…area needs cleaned. The door to our room doesn’t fit inside the frame of wall so we heard everything and light from hall came through. We will not be back. The positive? The beds were comfortable.

We paid for the hotel online and when we got there early we could only check in early if we paid $100 cash only. No keys would be given until they had $100 cash. People in front of us paid online for early check in and were told their payment had not gone through yet so they had to pay $100 cash. This is only due to the fact that everyone was in town for a concert or ball game and they knew people would pay it so that they wouldn’t have to wait until 4pm to check in. Which by the way, the sign above the front desk said check in time was 3pm. But no, that sign was wrong and it’s 4pm unless you pay $100 cash. No towels in room when we got in but there were coffee packets with no coffee maker to make it in. Dirty. Large air conditioner couldn’t cool down a small room. But the positive is that it’s a great neighborhood that’s quiet and we felt safe. About a mile down the road are great restaurants and shops. Close to the train if you decide to take that downtown.

What do I even say about my stay? Photos to show just how disgusting this room was. Spider curled up on the floor next to the bed. Smooshed bug guts on the wall. The lamps, I can't imagine the last time they were wiped down. I wouldn't have touched the remote with gloves on. The coffee machine, I think hopefully just water spots but honestly just looked at it made me feel like I needed a shower. Which, speaking of the shower took 20 minutes to drain. So you'd have to stand in the water if you wanted to shower. I drove 6 hours and to my fault, I did try and check-in 30 minutes early. Instead of informing me nicely that I was 30 minutes early, the check-in staff didn't even look up at me and recited their spiel (I imagine she had to say it often, with how rude she said it) about check-in time being at 4 and that I could come back later. So I said, "Oooookay" and turned around and walked out back to the parking lot where I sat in my car awkwardly. Speaking of the parking lot, expect people coming and going, sitting in their cars, and when I got back from my concert (reason for traveling) there were cops arresting someone in the front where you enter the parking lot. Lol. "Continental breakfast"? Some raisin bran and fruit loops, 2 Aldi yogurts (no hate, I love Aldi, just saying what was in the fridge), a 2 gallon of Milk, some varieties of muffin/pound cake type breakfast bread, and cinnamon raisin bread. We booked two rooms at this hotel for the location. The overnight desk clerk was kind and helpful. The other three employees were rude. Since then, we have found out that it has a terrible reputation. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We had to change rooms multiple times, due to the problematic issues. It was filthy and reeked of cigarettes. Each room was missing at least one thing: refrigerator, desk chair, luggage rack, coffee maker, towel, hangers. One room was freezing, and the heater was not functional. It also had a large hole in the ceiling right above the bed. Another room had a leak in the patched bathroom ceiling, which dripped all over the toilet & floor, leaving noticeable puddles when the shower was in use. Another room had a nonfunctional TV. In another room, the bedside table drawer contained a dirty towel and a crack pipe. There were strange noises throughout the night. And, sketchy characters were drifting about. It seemed as if everyone there was hooking up and/or doing drugs. It is surprising that Wyndham and Expedia would want to be connected to this horrendous hotel.

The night desk person was amazing. The room we were in, the floors were sticky and the girl that was on at night was very friendly and helpful. While we went to Walmart she moped the sticky floors and was very eager to help. The morning person did not have breakfast open at 6:30 am like the sign said and when we were waiting she was very rude and was on her personal cell phone rather than getting breakfast set up. At about 6:45 am the morning worker finally got up and did breakfast.

Truly a hidden gem, my family and I were pleasantly surprised to find this quaint and comfortable hotel across the street from Lake Erie. A short drive to Downtown Cleveland, less than 10 minutes. The area is beautiful and feels very safe and inviting. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and night life. Our room was very clean and the mattress was amazing. The staff was super helpful and made us feel right at home. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone that is traveling to the Cleveland area, especially if you need to be in Downtown Cleveland.

One of the few places to stay in Lakewood, it was a block from Lake Erie and hard to spot with little signage between homes, condos, apartments. It is rundown and in need of maintenance and repair. At least mow the lawn! The clerk was nice and had security monitors he was watching. The room was ok, standard fare, old, had a fridge. There is a breakfast room but we stayed out late so missed breakfast. It was ok but with the lakeside location and a bit of care, this could be a really good place. Shame. Almost hard to believe Wyndham puts its name on this place.

We were in Cleveland attending an event at Huntington Bank Field and chose this hotel because of how close it was to the event. We were not disappointed! It took us less than 10 minutes to drive down there. The area is beautiful, just across from the lake. We were able to walk to the beach and there were many shops nearby. Lakewood is absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were all so friendly. Parking was super easy and we had no issues at all. Good job Travelodge Cleveland Lakewood!

I have stayed here before yet I still had problems locating it. The 2 entrance drives are hard for me to locate due to my not being from Cleveland and a downtown area. The big plus is the Police check the area. Last yeay I got gas but forgot to close the door. The police got me to insure no one had broken in to the car.

Made sure my motorcycle remained secured safely. *What I didn’t like was the neighborhood… and its police activity. BUT most importantly the condition of the room.. I slept fully clothed. Did not use the restroom, or take my shoes off. There was food left presumably from the previous guest. It was exceptionally dirty complete with odor.

Even without wifi I like this Travelodge! Comfy room. Clean and quiet. Close walk to a neat little shopping and dining area. Best waffle maker ever! Property seems to be being spiffed up. Would 100 percent stay here again.

Run down, dim, dingy, dire. Soap from a previous occupant in the shower. A cockroach ran across the table. No internet. Breakfast was cheap pastries and dishwater coffee. Do not recommend. I bailed early.

On the plus side it was convenient for getting to the Rock and Roll HOF and didn't cost a lot of money in comparison to other overnight stay rates. The bed sheets were clean well enough as well as the toilet. Unfortunately I would never stay here again due to poorly maintained facilities overall. For example, cracked or crumbling walls, sidewalks, and parking lot. There were stains on the ceiling in the room with cracked drop-ceiling tiles. The carpet was sticky. The AC unit pumped out dust that make me choke. The mattress and pillows were lumpy and hard. The included breakfast was sad; there were breads for toasting but no butter to be found anywhere. Just a small fridge that held a few cups of yogurt and a gallon of milk with a gallon of OJ in dining area. Dining area was sticky with crumbs everywhere. I could overhear the hostess on a private conversation talking about what it's like to get stabbed which just created a bad impression.

The night desk person was amazing. The room we were in, the floors were sticky and the girl that was on at night was very friendly and helpful. While we went to Walmart she moped the sticky floors and was very eager to help. The morning person did not have breakfast open at 6:30 am like the sign said and when we were waiting she was very rude and was on her personal cell phone rather than getting breakfast set up. At about 6:45 am the morning worker finally got up and did breakfast.

It was a place to stay in Lakewood for the eclipse. That's it. There wasn't coffee in the breakfast room at 8, the free breakfast was all carbs and sugar, the hair dryer smoked and i shut it off after 5 seconds, and the room smelled like nasty febreeze. The property is getting really run down. "The wifi is down." The sheets and towels were ok. Clean. Old lumpy pillows. No sign of bedbugs. We checked.

The hotel room itself looked to not be cleaned. There were splatters on the wall and residue left on all surfaces. The door trim had been broken, it appears someone had successfully broken through door as there were two nails holding it together. The king bed had two top sheets, no blanket and two small pillows. The breakfast is a waffle machine that says “Do Not Use” and mini muffins purchased from the Walmart bakery. We also had issues with our room key to the point that the front desk had to let us in rather than getting us a new room.

The dingy aspects would not have been so hard to deal with if we could have counted on a somewhat proper breakfast. We travel to ride MTB. We need a proper breakfast in the am and always stay somewhere that offers breakfast. No protein, coffee situation was terrible, cereal stale, homeless lady that smelled like feces sat right next to us and wanted to talk to us while she ate her breakfast. We felt so bad for her, but also we like peace in the early am, and we were trying to have a conversation about our plans for the day, including the issue with needing to find a proper breakfast and decent cup of coffee. We apparently arrived 30 minutes earlier than the check in time, and they were going to charge us an extra $50 instead of just telling us that, or being hospitable or anything remotely professional. It didn't appear that they were very busy, so they must be scrounging for any extra cash they can get out of people. Came back for a nap between hard exercise and housekeeping kept banging on our door, even though we asked for a do not disturb sign. Front desk assured us no one would try to come in unless we requested services. Rough stay. Basically camping indoors. At least the water was hot in the shower.

Room was good, clean and everything from towels to coffee was stocked up in the room. Only complaints with the room is there was a half drank water bottle in the fridge so it clearly didn’t get opened and cleaned out. The staff seemed like they just didn’t want to be there. When I went to check in the woman didn’t even look me in the eyes and seemed annoyed that she even needed to check me in at all. Person in the morning when I checked out had the same type of vibe. The only other thing I have to complain about is the breakfast. I wasn’t expecting 5 star or anything but the milk and orange juice containers were disgusting. There was old congealed milk around the spout. The syrup for the waffles tasted like it was expired. The batter for the waffles didn’t seem mixed at all. All in all it was nothing more than a place to sleep and the room in which I did so was in good condition.

The staff tried hard but it was so awful we left—filthy dirty, we didn’t want to touch anything. They sent us to a sister hotel which was only slightly better—cracked glass in windows, no smoke alarm (wires hanging), no towels except very worn hand towels because they had no one to do laundry. It was just gross. We left at dawn. The second was the Lakewood Days Inn-/that’s where the photos are from. I didn’t take any photos from this place because we were so grossed out.

This location was terrible! As soon as we arrived in the parking lot, it was clear this property was not maintained. The signage lights were not working, the lobby was filthy, and the check-in desk had a hand-written sign informing customers with no ID and paying cash that they must spend at least $100. This really set off alarm bells. There were also a few men just hanging out in the lobby that seemed to be friends of the check-in clerk. As I was given my room key, the clerk loudly stated my room number so that his buddies could hear it. Again, alarm bells. As we walked up the stairs to our room, the lights in the stairwell were out, the carpet was covered in some sort of black sludge and the drywall had holes in it. Once in our room we discovered there was no toilet paper, hand soap or towels in the bathroom. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned as there were sticky puddles on the nightstand and the beds were unmade. We ended up checking out 30 minutes after checking in. This place was a nightmare. For $125 I would at least expect toilet paper and cleanliness.

I don’t think the entire hotel has been cleaned in years. My room was not vacuumed, bugs everywhere, no towels, no toilet paper, a huge mold spot on the ceiling that looked like it was going to collapse, no trash can, tv didn’t work, and the bed looked like someone was just laying there. I had to use a hand towel to dry off after a shower the first night but was able to get a bath towel the second night. Still itching from the bugs and still have a headache from the mold.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The front door/window was dirty and a huge bag of thrash was left next to it. The reception desk area had not been swept nor mopped in days! The sheets in the room were stained and we had to ask for new ones. The room did not have a small frigde, just a whole in the furniture wher eit suppsedly once was. A broken hanger was left in the clothes' bar. There was no soap (just small samples of shampoo and conditioner) nor towels! When we requested towels we were given 2 hand towels, a very small shower towel, a regular shower towel and the towel for the floor (we were 2). The water was shut off in the bathroom and we had to turn it on. Then the sink started leaking in two different places but we only had a small trash bucket to collect the water dripping. The shower filled up to my ankles while I showered and took 20 minutes to empty. It's ok to have a. modest hotel. It's not ok to be unclean and charge money. This hotel is a disgrace. DO NOT GO.
