Despite the lack of a view from the bedroom, this was a very good place to stay, and was excellent value for the price we paid. The bed was very comfortable, really good shower, super soft towels, no air conditioning but a fan was provided in the room, the iron and ironing board were handy, and the room was quiet with no noise heard from other rooms. Breakfast was very good. We ordered breakfast the night before and got everything we asked for, even tomatoes which were not on the order sheet. The service was very good and the hotel seemed to make a real effort to satisfy their guests. They even had two electric car charging points. The steak and ale pie I had for dinner was packed full with tender and tasty beef. We would not hesitate to return.

Although the rooms are a little tired the hotel is a good position for Ashbourne and Buxton. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant service was excellent and so was the food. We really enjoyed our stay here and will visit again soon.

Great food, great service. Unfortunately the room was incredibly hot because we were above the kitchen so also noise with fans, bed and pillows were lumpy and hard so didn’t sleep very well, plus cobwebs. Lovely people though.

Excellent place to stay. Room was really lovely, and large (also had bath and shower, not just one of them) It was very cold when we got there, but as soon as we asked, the heating was put on without question.Service was really good, and we were well loooked after. Nice location for Ashbourne, Bakewell etc.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and delicious food. We stayed in the family suite but weren't expecting it to be an apartment set up with two separate bedrooms, a lounge area and bathroom so this was a brilliant surprise. All staff, from check-in to dining were really welcoming. We stayed two nights and had breakfast included both mornings which had plenty of choice and was really nice. We ate dinner on one evening and the food was delicious! Good selection and reasonably priced. This room is in a separate building across from the main hotel and is by a road. If you are a light sleeper the external noises may bother you. The only negative was the matress in the double bedroom, it's either old or a bad mattress and was rather uncomfortable. Overall would highly recommend.

I spent two nights hear so saw lots of different staff and they was all amazing. I had the single room which is probably only a few inches off been a double, so great. I had two evening meals which were both fantastic and also fantastic value for money. But the breakfast is the show stopper for me. If you like a full English you will love this hotel

We stayed for one night after a family party. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure that we had an earlier than usual breakfast, as we had to leave very early. The effort they went to was exceptional.

It says including breakfast on the website & the booking, but they did try & charge breakfast - when I showed them a photo of the website they didn't charge & were very good about it, but it's worth checking in advance if you're booking. Otherwise a lovely stay, lovely food, and our kids loved it.

I spent two nights hear so saw lots of different staff and they was all amazing. I had the single room which is probably only a few inches off been a double, so great. I had two evening meals which were both fantastic and also fantastic value for money. But the breakfast is the show stopper for me. If you like a full English you will love this hotel

Despite the lack of a view from the bedroom, this was a very good place to stay, and was excellent value for the price we paid. The bed was very comfortable, really good shower, super soft towels, no air conditioning but a fan was provided in the room, the iron and ironing board were handy, and the room was quiet with no noise heard from other rooms. Breakfast was very good. We ordered breakfast the night before and got everything we asked for, even tomatoes which were not on the order sheet. The service was very good and the hotel seemed to make a real effort to satisfy their guests. They even had two electric car charging points. The steak and ale pie I had for dinner was packed full with tender and tasty beef. We would not hesitate to return.

A good one night stay, staff very pleasant and welcoming, had a meal in the hotel as well. Thought the meal prices were a little expensive given the portions but service was excellent. The only criticism we would have is the very noisy extractor in room 5, not great in the middle of the night when your partner is trying to sleep! But if that is all we can criticise then it speaks volumes about our stay, would return as it was very relaxing.

A really nice place for an overnight stay near Ashbourne, where a hearty breakfast will set you up for the day. Good food, good drinks and good staff. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Although the rooms are a little tired the hotel is a good position for Ashbourne and Buxton. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant service was excellent and so was the food. We really enjoyed our stay here and will visit again soon.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and delicious food. We stayed in the family suite but weren't expecting it to be an apartment set up with two separate bedrooms, a lounge area and bathroom so this was a brilliant surprise. All staff, from check-in to dining were really welcoming. We stayed two nights and had breakfast included both mornings which had plenty of choice and was really nice. We ate dinner on one evening and the food was delicious! Good selection and reasonably priced. This room is in a separate building across from the main hotel and is by a road. If you are a light sleeper the external noises may bother you. The only negative was the matress in the double bedroom, it's either old or a bad mattress and was rather uncomfortable. Overall would highly recommend.

Excellent place to stay. Room was really lovely, and large (also had bath and shower, not just one of them) It was very cold when we got there, but as soon as we asked, the heating was put on without question.Service was really good, and we were well loooked after. Nice location for Ashbourne, Bakewell etc.

The staff and dining were very good ... The hotel room was a little tired but clean The quilts would have been excellent for cold weather I think summer quilts would have been much more appropriate for this time of year
