Staff on check in were good polite and helpful on getting keys the room very basic but looked ok booked as going to family event. On returning at 6:30 the room smelled of smoke, which continued all night, there was a party booked in bar area which started at 7pm with loud music which continued until 1:15am but because it was spring the clocks when forward so it was really 2:15am then it was the party customers shouting screaming and arguing for a further 30/40 minutes also some were staying overnight so they were shouting and banging doors. So hardly any sleep which was a shame as the bed was quite comfortable with lovely crisp linen. There was no bin at all, nowhere to hand clothes, the toilet moved and leaked every time you sat on it and the shower was dirty and mouldy, the windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of them also the TV didn’t work and you couldn’t make tea or coffee and couldn’t go to the bar to order any as there was a private party on would I recommend no. It’s cheap for a reason just a lot of reasons

I liked this place, rough and ready though, I thought I was walking into the Liberal House in Tamworth, they must have used the same decorator at the same time. Even the holes in the wall matched. Feral kids running up and down the hallways at midnight. Parking was haphazard as owners seemed to just park where their cars stopped. However I quite liked the place, the room was relatively quiet and comfortable. The canal was a short walk away and a couple of nice pubs too.

Loud music from two competing events at either end of the venue until 2am followed by fireworks. This was like staying in a night club. In the morning the carpark was covered in broken glass. Our stay here spoiled an annual family get together.

I have never stayed at a hotel this horrible The noise was so loud noone could sleep 2 competing discos followed byfireworks at 2 am The bed covers were stained Shower didn't work The fire door next to my room was left open all night and so my room smelt of cigarettes People were fighting in the car park The next morning the main door was locked so we could only exit by the fire exit There were no staff around to complain to before we left The car park was littered with broken glass as we left

What can I say? The room and en-suite was lean and tidy. However, if you want a good night’s sleep, dream on. The connecting door to the bar and room corridor was constantly opening and the music / karaoke suddenly belted out at Mach four volume. When the door was shut, I could still hear the cat being strangled on the karaoke. Then at 2 in the morning, 2 female voices woke me up with their loud discussion on rooms. Night 2 was worse with disco night turning into let’s get ready to rumble at closing time. Certain individuals decided to have a standup Barney and slanging match that keep going til 1.30am. Thank god on night 3 I remembered my painkillers and actually got some sleep. Again the room was clean and tidy but if your looking for a peaceful place to sleep, I would say take ear defence, as you’ll need it

I must having checked in during a disco as the music was ear splittingly loud and check in was done at the bar. The room only had a small amount of toilet roll, and I didnt really want to go back and ask for more. There were holes in some of the walls and the window would close so I had to out the heater on really high to warm up the room. I wouldnt choose to stay here again.

Parking was ok and safe enough. Disapointed I was told breakfast from 0800 the bar area was lock up. Phone manager and he said breakfast was from 0900. When I check in I was given leaflet that said from 0800 am I went to Cafe Buttie 4 mins away in car

Stayed at The Minworth Lodge for two nights. Staff were lovley and very helpful you have to check in at the bar. Room was small but comfortable and clean. Bathroom was basic but good value for the price and ok for a couple of nights. Shower was great. Bathrooms could do with a repaint but the air extractor is not powerful enough to remove all the moisture. Sleep was great the bed was very comfortable. Will stay here on next visit 100% thank you!

The main lounge is crawling with flies. Multiple bathrooms have mold on the walls. The rooms have a horrible stench. The locks on the door are cheaply made, and anyone can see through them. I could easily hear what other people were doing late at night so it was hard extremely hard to rest. The property is unbearable in many ways.

Lack of staff to check in, stood next to drunk pun users for 20 mins waiting. Terrible clubbing pub noises until 22:30. Mouldy smelly bathroom. Stained bed sheets. No free parking spaces. No bin. Window covered in spiders webs. Coat hooks hanging off the wall. TV remote not working.

From the photos it looked great..NOT..feet stuck to hallway carpet paint coming off skirting doorframe..window in room was filthy ,you couldnt see outside of, toilet and shower awful, tv didn't work.nothing at all like the photos,I think it must have been a 50's working mans club,the only thing good about it was the bedding,,pristine white bedding, apaert from tht was worth the £50 for the night,would not recommend

Mould everywhere, broken blinds that had tape on them to stop the gap, plug sockets hanging out the wall, coat rack hanging on for dear life, holes in the walls, shower unusable as just sprayed everywhere when turned on. Wish we’d have read the other reviews before we booked because we’d have avoided this place like the plague.

Room was adequate except hardly any toilet roll and no extra provided. Bathroom was very bare. They advertised that they offer breakfast from 8.30am but when we went to the bar there was no staff on site. We were locked in but we could exit from the side door. Friday and Saturday night was loud music which made the beds vibrate because it was so loud and the music didn’t stop until 1.30am. It’s sad because the room was adequate for the price but the noise and the lack of breakfast let it down. We left a day early and booked somewhere else.

The connecting door to the bar and room corridor was constantly opening and the music / karaoke suddenly belted out at Mach four volume. When the door was shut, I could still hear the cat being strangled on the karaoke. Then at 2 in the morning, 2 female voices woke me up with their loud discussion on rooms. Night 2 was worse with disco night turning into let’s get ready to rumble at closing time. Certain individuals decided to have a standup Barney and slanging match that keep going til 1.30am. Thank god on night 3 I remembered my painkillers and actually got some sleep. I must having checked in during a disco as the music was ear splittingly loud and check in was done at the bar. The room only had a small amount of toilet roll, and I didnt really want to go back and ask for more. There were holes in some of the walls and the window would close so I had to out the heater on really high to warm up the room. I wouldnt choose to stay here again.

I booked here for 2 nights as I was working away. On the description it stated that there would be WiFi giving at least 25 Mb but I was only getting 87Kb which would not even load the Google search page. There was no Kettle in the room. Coat hangers hanging off the wall, bathroom door handle hanging off and the paint on the ceiling was more than flaking off. This was a none pet hotel but I had a dog barking outside my room on numerous occasions throughout the first night. The blinds on the window where broken and I needed to put a stool and my laptop bag on the windowsill, just to create privacy. The room itself was like a freezer and the heater that was in the room took over 2 hours just to take the chill off. As I said earlier, I had booked this for 2 nights but due to the lack of WiFi and the overall condition of the room, I left after the first night. I know this was a budget hotel, but just wow, this is the worst place I have stayed and will not be back!

The bedroom ceiling was mouldy as was the shower. The blind was broken and a bright light was on all night outside the window. Door lock was difficult to lock with the key and looked damaged. We were told breakfast started at 9 am but in the morning we were told it was cancelled...Manager was rude when informing us. Book somewhere else would be my advice.

The room was not ready upon arrival, said had run out of bleach, then said vacuum was broken. Asked to put luggage in room as was visiting family (purpose of the stay) was taken to a single room when booking was for a family room (there were 3 of us). Staff apologised and took us the correct booking. Adverts regarding breakfast were around the bar area, when we asked about this was told breakfast was not being served this weekend. Understand that the venue is under new management. A bit of organising and staff training appears to be needed.

Stayed at The Minworth Lodge for two nights. Staff were lovley and very helpful you have to check in at the bar. Room was small but comfortable and clean. Bathroom was basic but good value for the price and ok for a couple of nights. Shower was great. Bathrooms could do with a repaint but the air extractor is not powerful enough to remove all the moisture. Sleep was great the bed was very comfortable. Will stay here on next visit 100% thank you!

I liked this place, rough and ready though, I thought I was walking into the Liberal House in Tamworth, they must have used the same decorator at the same time. Even the holes in the wall matched. Feral kids running up and down the hallways at midnight. Parking was haphazard as owners seemed to just park where their cars stopped. However I quite liked the place, the room was relatively quiet and comfortable. The canal was a short walk away and a couple of nice pubs too.

All in all, its a decent accommodation for people who are looking to whizz through Birmingham. We needed a car to drive around to the NEC etc. This accommodation is not too far, but around 25 mins away from the centre of Birmingham by driving. Can't complain.

Upon arrival and parking in the carpark I was concerned I have made the wrong choice. I went into the bar area and spoke to staff and I found them to be incredibly helpful and wanting to ensure that the process of checking in was easy. Though out my stay I felt comfortable and welcomed. The only criticism I have is that there was no food available through out our stay. However, there is plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and within walking distance. Overall I liked it there and plan to go back with the children. The new owner and the staff were so keen to help make my stay a good one. Yes there were events in the evening and during the day but I feel that was to be expected given the properties location and cost. It was nice to see the community actively use the building. I would like to thank all of the staff there for making my stay relaxing.

Rooms are clean and breakfast was tasty. But there was no water kettle in the room, I needed to ask to activate the boiler to get the hot water in bathroom, and breakfast started at 10am and not 8am. Meanwhile, the staff was kindful and all in all we passed a good night.

Honestly it was terrible. I will say whoever took the pictures did a great job as the place looks nothing like these pictures. Arrived at 9pm on Friday, check in was ok and I had to give a form of ID which is fine I've done that in places before. Was given a piece of paper with the door codes, WiFi information breakfast times etc. Was given some vague instructions on how to find the room myself as the staff didn't want to seem to leave the bar where they were having fun. Security doors to the accommodation were constantly left open so anyone could walk in which is a bit of a safety concern when travelling wit children. The room had no tea and coffee facilities but I could go to the bar and get one if I wanted. I'm not going to walk to the bar every time I want a cuppa. The beds felt like they were basically planks of wood and some of the most uncomfortable beds ever and I've stayed in alpine huts which are literally wooden beds but they were somehow better. The room did have an ensuite, but the shower didn't work properly. After about 60 seconds the water stopped running. Breakfast on the first day was ok, turned up at 8:30 to be told that actually it was 9 it started but I could make a cup of tea or coffee while I wait. I decided on a coffee and wish I didn't, as I was trying to poor the milk out of the metal teapot that was used I noticed it wasn't pouring because there was a chunk of old milk like rubber in the spout. I have more to say but run out of space.

Bed Bugs We were supposed to stay for a week at the lodge but we had to cut our stay short on the very first night because of a bed bug crawling on the pillow. There was no emergency/out of hours number to contact on the night so we had to find last minute accommodation. In the morning, I spoke to the manager. I informed them of the bed bug currently held under a glass in our room. I asked if they wanted to see it but they did not want to. I was told it may not be a bed bug and that they need to get pest control in to verify. I have taken the attached video and photos so we may not forget what was on scene. I asked for a refund for our stay or for some compensation but they would not do so. They also said that even if it was a bed bug there needs to be an infestation of hundreds before they consider offering a refund. They did not apologise and there seemed to be no remorse in their tone or words. In fact their reaction seemed scripted like they have had this problem before. They simply told me no refunds and they'll get pest control in that day or soon after. This was on Thursday morning. I am writing this review on Monday, 4 days after the event. They told me they would email me with updates: they have not. Either they are keeping the bed bug alive until pest control arrive, or I dread to think they have disposed of the bed bug before pest control arrive. I am still open to a refund if they choose to contact me. I have more to say but I've reached the character limit

I asked for a refund for our stay or for some compensation but they would not do so. They also said that even if it was a bed bug there needs to be an infestation of hundreds before they consider offering a refund. They did not apologise and there seemed to be no remorse in their tone or words. In fact their reaction seemed scripted like they have had this problem before. They simply told me no refunds and they'll get pest control in that day or soon after. This was on Thursday morning. I am writing this review on Monday, 4 days after the event. They told me they would email me with updates: they have not. Either they are keeping the bed bug alive until pest control arrive, or I dread to think they have disposed of the bed bug before pest control arrive. I am still open to a refund if they choose to contact me. I have more to say but I've reached the character limit
