Very lucky to get 2 parking spaces. Staff very welcoming. Room and bathroom very clean but the bed was too soft so not comfortable however accept that a very firm bed is our personal requirement. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice. well cooked and served. Short but very pleasant stay

The stairs are a huge problem if anyone has any difficulty in walking or climbing. Lack of room numbers to point you in the direction of your room. I was confused by the fire door sign on the door and thought i could not enter so spent ages trying to find my room whilst struggling with the stairs until I was refused by a delightful young staff member who carried. my luggage to my room.

The staff and food were fantastic. The hotel was being refurbished, but we were not informed about it, until we arrived. It involved, quite a convoluted detour around back stairs to get to our room, and those areas were very dusty. On the plus side, they did give a small discount as redress, but I felt it was still very overpriced for the stay.

Fantastic wee hotel and the staff are all superb. It’s right in the heart of Biggar so an ideal location for the surrounding wedding venues. It definitely feels like a warm family run business that cares about their guests well-being. Breakfast was pre ordered and freshly served after your teas and coffees. My only say would be, plan ahead of your visiting as parking is limited with it being a town square. Will definitely be booking in again!

We booked in for one night on our way back from John O' Groats. Our room was upstairs no lift and no offer of help with my suitcase. I have arthritis in both of my hands and wrists. Our room was alright. But it was all a bit jaded. We were provided with enough coffee sachets a milk for 2 cups of coffee, however the kettle had to be plugged in and boiled on the floor because the lead was not long enough to reach any flat surface. Choice of breakfast. I provided my own cereal as they didn't provide a gluten free option. Carpets were all a bit shabby and looked like they needed a good clean. Booked in for evening meal which was excellent and also they had a gluten free menu, so we were very pleased wirh that. We had stayed here a few years ago for several days and noticed how much things had deteriorated. I doubt if will stay there again.

I was only looking for an overnight stay on a business trip to Scotland and this fitted the bill perfectly. I was late to check in, but the hotel called me to make sure I was ok and still coming, which I thought was a nice touch. I had a beer in the (busy) bar before bed, a good breakfast to start the next day, and great hospitality throughout. No issues at all, and I’d happily recommend it.

We were attending a wedding. Things got delayed, and I checked in by phone. The lady said the key would be left on the bar for collection. Later they rang me and said if I hadn't collected the key by 10.30/10.45 they would have gone and we wouldn't have a room. Had to leave Reception early to ensure we had a bed. Room spotlessly clean, although bin not emptied. Stair carpet very dirty and worn, and room smelt of state cigarette smoke. Breakfast I ordered porridge which never arrived and received a fried egg at breakfast rather than the scrambled I requested.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Dog friendly and excellent value. We stayed in the small double room. It was cosy and comfy and had everything we needed. The room itself could do with a bit of updating, but it was as expected for the price. The bathroom is new and pristine. Would stay again.

Had a lovely overnight stay here. I arrived early as I was attending a wedding and was able to access my room no problem to get ready. Room has recently been re-furbished and is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good too. I would have no hesitation in returning.

As my bus left before breakfast they made me a boxed lunch to take with me. Very nice people.

Fantastic wee hotel and the staff are all superb. It’s right in the heart of Biggar so an ideal location for the surrounding wedding venues. It definitely feels like a warm family run business that cares about their guests well-being. Breakfast was pre ordered and freshly served after your teas and coffees. My only say would be, plan ahead of your visiting as parking is limited with it being a town square. Will definitely be booking in again!

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Dog friendly and excellent value. We stayed in the small double room. It was cosy and comfy and had everything we needed. The room itself could do with a bit of updating, but it was as expected for the price. The bathroom is new and pristine. Would stay again.

We were attending a wedding. Things got delayed, and I checked in by phone. The lady said the key would be left on the bar for collection. Later they rang me and said if I hadn't collected the key by 10.30/10.45 they would have gone and we wouldn't have a room. Had to leave Reception early to ensure we had a bed. Room spotlessly clean, although bin not emptied. Stair carpet very dirty and worn, and room smelt of state cigarette smoke. Breakfast I ordered porridge which never arrived and received a fried egg at breakfast rather than the scrambled I requested.

Great staff, clean room and fantastic food. The breakfast in particular was exceptional. But be warned, the portions are huge. All in all, a quaint little hotel that offers service well above its price band

We booked in for one night on our way back from John O' Groats. Our room was upstairs no lift and no offer of help with my suitcase. I have arthritis in both of my hands and wrists. Our room was alright. But it was all a bit jaded. We were provided with enough coffee sachets a milk for 2 cups of coffee, however the kettle had to be plugged in and boiled on the floor because the lead was not long enough to reach any flat surface. Choice of breakfast. I provided my own cereal as they didn't provide a gluten free option. Carpets were all a bit shabby and looked like they needed a good clean. Booked in for evening meal which was excellent and also they had a gluten free menu, so we were very pleased wirh that. We had stayed here a few years ago for several days and noticed how much things had deteriorated. I doubt if will stay there again.

A bit run by down and in need of some care and attention. No spare loo roll! Breakfast somewhat sparse and once you had booked for day one gut same again on day two - like it or not.

Great location with plenty of free parking. The room was quite small but we were only there for one night and had very little luggage. Good restaurant. Service was excellent. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful.

Nice clean spacious room but the window in my room needs replacing as it was draughty and aloud in noise from outside, perhaps a few mushrooms would not go amiss with the breakfast apart from those minor qualms I would not hesitate to stay again.

One of the friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Fabulous staff, friendly locals, good beer & food and free parking right outside the door. To top it all off the breakfast is amazing. I’d stay here again next time I’m travelling this way.
