Room was spacious but - like the pub - in need of updating. Parking was only on-street and subject to the municipal restrictions. The Inn was a cracking place to stay. The bed was comfy, room was warm and had a great shower. The Inn itself had a lovely wood burner on and the food offerings were well received by the other patrons. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were excellent, always smiling and up for a chat. Would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area!

The Lamb Inn sounds charming, but reality is a shock. You enter through a pub, with an iffy clientele staring at you. Our room was on a second floor, no elevator, just a very, very step stairway with spiders and webs. Our room was small and the bathroom was a joke. Water was either ice cold or scalding hot and the controls didn't work. Toilet didn't flush properly and no service in terms of fresh towels or emptying wastebasket. As pubs are now smoke-free, the entire center of the property, which you must pass through to access rooms, has overflowing ashtrays and smells of stale cigarettes all the time. Only decent thing was breakfast, Very nice woman prepared and served and I'm guessing isn't there any longer. Parking is a nightmare as it's close to downtown with time restrictions. Not even a loading zone so you could drop off bags. Yes it sounds charming and old photos are misleading. Reality is borderline nightmare. Hotels.com ought to post a warning next to the listing.

Basic surroundings, desperately needs updating. The staff were friendly and helpful but we got the feeling the pub was struggling. The room was tiny but clean, we were unable to open the bathroom window as it was broken. Hot tap needed a washer and dripped all the time. Beds were comfortable though. Note No parking so had to park in the long stay car park and keep feeding the meter. Not ideal!

Very worn bathroom. Shower glass not been cleaned for some time. When boiling the kettle inside could have been descaled as not done I some time and all the cartons of milk were dated March, so they all had to go in the bin

Although it is a pub it was totally quiet by 11.30pm. Very comfortable bed, probably the best sleep I have had for years. Very good breakfasts, continental for me & full English for my husband & certainly enough to eat. Very close to the High Street but still not noisy. Would recommend & hope to have a return visit.

This is a pub, my room was above the courtyard which was heavily used and therefore noisy. Breakfast was very good, Becky did a excellent job.

The staff was very friendly but I have to admit the internet even at times when I could connect was so weak, I couldn’t even access my emails. The shower has a power saver machine on it but the problem is the hot water cycles from cold to warm to scalding and around and around so you constantly have to dip under and out. I can’t say the stay was worth the price.

Although it is a pub it was totally quiet by 11.30pm. Very comfortable bed, probably the best sleep I have had for years. Very good breakfasts, continental for me & full English for my husband & certainly enough to eat. Very close to the High Street but still not noisy. Would recommend & hope to have a return visit.

We had an absolutely amazing time. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Good beer, fabulous breakfasts and Sunday roast was perfect. It's the perfect location for visiting the area. Our room was comfortable, clean and warm. Thank you for making us feel so welcome; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

Chaotic check-in as pub was preparing for 'cheap pie night' and bar area was occupied with many young children and their mothers. Room key could not be located for a while. The Lamb Inn sounds charming, but reality is a shock. You enter through a pub, with an iffy clientele staring at you. Our room was on a second floor, no elevator, just a very, very step stairway with spiders and webs. Our room was small and the bathroom was a joke. Water was either ice cold or scalding hot and the controls didn't work. Toilet didn't flush properly and no service in terms of fresh towels or emptying wastebasket. As pubs are now smoke-free, the entire center of the property, which you must pass through to access rooms, has overflowing ashtrays and smells of stale cigarettes all the time. Only decent thing was breakfast, Very nice woman prepared and served and I'm guessing isn't there any longer. Parking is a nightmare as it's close to downtown with time restrictions. Nobody turned up to cook the included breakfast in the morning so I had to leave without eating. Missing shower door. Dirty bath mat. Dry drink packages not refilled. Extremely difficult to park. Had to move car three times and then park on street far from hotel overnight.

The Inn was a cracking place to stay. The bed was comfy, room was warm and had a great shower. The Inn itself had a lovely wood burner on and the food offerings were well received by the other patrons. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were excellent, always smiling and up for a chat. Would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area!

The bedroom was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding, the lady who cooked and served it was lovely. Staff were pleasant & friendly too.

The room hadn’t been cleaned from the previous day when I arrived - staff very apologetic - breakfast the following morning was worse- I waited 30 mins after being asked if I wanted tea or coffee - so I got up and left

I booked a room with a double and two singles. What we got was a too small for two people double and a sofa bed. The bed was the hardest I've ever come across in my life. I slept on the couch as it was too late to make up another bed. The breakfast was the worst ever. I have never complained about a breakfast but this was so bad, we had to. The waiter just shook his head. Black toast, solid egg, wrinkled old mushroom that was raw. The hash brows were leaking grease on the plate. Picked one up and it dripped. The staff were nice enough but we had no idea of who the manager was during our two night stay. Open mic outside was nice.

Stayed 2 nights whilst hiking the Ridgeway and surrounding areas - a great base for getting to the amazing surrounding areas. The pub was very friendly with a friendly welcome and a pleasant bar. There are lots of good food options in Marlborough although I ended up eating in the pub both nights as the food was very reasonably priced and very tasty and with a good selection of beers on tap. The room was comfortable and clean although quite dated and it was quite noisy until late as it was above the bar. The shower worked well and there was ample supply of tea bags and milk. It was easy to leave early in the morning as there is a fire escape that can be used for out of hours exit.
