I booked this one night stay because we were travelling north and it seemed a good mid way point, I always book a hotel with a restaurant to save time. Immediately after booking I received an email telling me about the restaurant & an À la Carte breakfast on a weekend, after emailing to book a table for Saturday evening it took them over 24hrs to reply that the restaurant isn’t available then on check in to find out it’s continental breakfast only! Room was ok, but unfortunately while dark walls & woodwork maybe on trend the build up of dust is much more visible Not somewhere I would return to

The staff were friendly and helpful. Location great. Looks lovely from outside with plenty of parking and it was quiet. However our room needed a deep clean, mould in bathroom and bedroom could easily be cleaned. Spiders and cobwebs. Broken socket and light switch- potential to be lovely again just needs some TLC. Breakfast was a mixed bag - very reasonably priced with a good selection of cereals and nice quality juice. Room information mentioned cooked breakfast which was not available and the croissants were very doughy.

I stayed here on a business trip and unfortunately the experience was poor. My room was located in the roof space and was far too hot. The window had security restrictors that only allowed it to open a few inches, making it very difficult to get any fresh air into the room. There is no air conditioning, only a fan, and the room itself was small with no desk or workspace for a laptop. After arriving, I was told that no food was available. When I commented that this was a shame, the response I received was that staff “have to have two days off a week, it’s the law,” which made it seem as though I was asking for something unreasonable. The shower in the morning was also problematic. The water pressure was extremely low and there was barely enough hot water. When water was used elsewhere in the building, the flow from my shower stopped completely. Breakfast was disappointing. It consisted of boxes of cereal, a small amount of fruit, bread with a toaster, and a few squares of cheese and ham. There was only enough for one slice at a time, and more was put out only when someone came down for breakfast. I asked for gluten free bread or cereal, neither of which was available. For £161, I felt this represented very poor value. The stay was not pleasant, and I will not be booking this hotel again. The local company I was visiting had recommended this hotel for their visitors, but based on this experience they will no longer do so.
