The elevator was broken. The stairs are narrow and steep. The wallpaper was peeling off. The shower didn’t have a liner in it. The blanket wasn’t in the bed, you have to go find it. The only area the air reaches in right in front of the door way. The room didn’t have wash rags.

The manager was rude and had no training in customer service. No warm welcome, no smile, nothing. He gave me a room with no washcloths, and told me I had to wait until the morning. After being on the road all day all I wanted was to take a shower. This wasn’t cool at all. Luckily it’s a nice woman on staff who offered to get me some washcloths from her hotel! The woman, and the fact that I had to pay an unexpected $40 for parking is the only reason I agreed to stay.

Don’t Stay Here!!! What a disaster 😡. I’m still waiting for my $100 deposit to be refunded. For starters there is an additional $20 plus tax per night “Resort Free” required to stay here but this place has no resort amenities. No pool, no gym, no breakfast so what is the resort fee for?? . It’s worse than a Motel 6. If you have a car then parking in an ADDITIONAL $30 per day. The room they provided was on the 3rd floor and it was old and Super slimy and dingy. The walls look like they were painted 47 times on top of the old paint. The room was warm and through the evening It started to get warmer. There is no AC in the room. It is a central AC for the entire building. In the evening it was 84 degrees in the room. After complaining, they put us in a room downstairs at the lobby level, which had AC working but now we are right next to the lobby and street noise. I WAS PROVIDED WITH ONE TOWEL IN THE BATHROOM WITH NO FACE TOWELS, AND NO TOWEL FOR THE SHOWER FLOOR, THE SOAP WAS THE SIZE OF A STICK OF GUM, THE SHAMPOO WAS IN A CONVENIENT KETCHUP PACKET. 😡The location was nice being only a block away from the beach, but there are not many good options for restaurants within walking distance. The street noise at this location is super loud and It makes it difficult to sleep with sirens and horns honking throughout the night. In the morning we noticed bugs scatter when we turned on the light. This is definitely not a good stay and I hope I get my $100 deposit back.

Hotel was terrible, dirty, bed sheet were so dirty, the shower drapes were sticky, dirty, filthy, ask for some toilet paper and received a attitude, need to leave a personal card for a beach towel… Fight append in the adjacent room at 3h am and lasted for one hour of yelling, waking everyone one the floor, no one of the hotel came. Expedia should not offer that hotel, nothing looks like in the picture, stay away at all cost

This hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The rooms were dirty with blood on the floor, and there were roaches crawling around in our room. Even though they advertise parking, they only have enough parking to accommodate approximately five guests. They also charge additional fees when you arrive that are not posted on Expedia including a cleaning fee for Covid. We checked in and immediately checked out and requested a refund.

They are adamant about check in time. The elevator was broken when we checked in and we had to walk up to the third floor. The decor is outdated. The bed sagged in the middle and the frame was bent. The pillows were small and flat. There was no way to adjust the AC and it was freezing in the room with thin covers on the bed. The bathroom shower was not clean and hair was all over the shower wall. The two towels that were left for us were so small and thread bare. We had no hot water when we took our showers in the evening, but there was hot water in the morning. It is a great location, just needs a little updating and cleaning.

I stayed at The Notebook Hotel from 04/04/25-04/07/25 through Expedia. I was assigned a room and from the moment I walked in, it was clear the room had not been cleaned at all. There were blood stains on the sheets, a strong moldy smell in the bathroom, grime and hair in the tub, and the sink barely worked. I immediately reported the issues to staff, but nothing was done to address them. Despite multiple complaints every day, no action was taken. I asked to switch rooms numerous times and staff stated the hotel was fully booked. I was forced to change the dirty sheets myself after being given fresh sheets by the first desk. The staff were unprofessional. Could you believe me asking for room service my entire stay they never came to clean the room, nor address any complaints. I was ignored by the management, who refused to speak with me directly, and I developed a severe rash due to the unsanitary conditions. The hotel’s negligence and the manager have a complete disregard for guest safety and hygiene is shocking. I was offered a refund of my daily hotel fee only by the manager which is insulting. I want to warn others to avoid this hotel at all costs. It’s a health hazard Do not stay here!

Great location, cute decor. But hire some professional cleaners, pest control and invest in towels. CLEAN, put some money and effort and people will return. Otherwise NEVER again. I would rather pay twice the amount to not sleep on filth.

Gentleman at the front was very nice. Walking into the room there were dirty towels on the floor. In the bathroom there were bugs on the bathroom floor. Bathroom door did not close all the way. The bed was not sturdy. Furniture had stain spills that could’ve been cleaned up.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I paid extra to get a room earlier. The room wasn't even cleaned. The floors were dirty with crumbs of dirt. The Bed was made but sheets weren't even changed. There was hair on the sheets. I found pieces of weed crumbs under the sheets. The shower knob was broken. I couldn't turn the water off. I went down to let the receptionist know. He said, I'm not a handyman. The toilet wasn't cleaned and the bathtub still had hair stands from the last person that was in the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good value to be close to the beach. At first glance one might think it's unclean but it's more an old building: Bare light bulb in the room, visible bad caulking job in the bathroom. No phone to call reception in the room. Got woken up for over an hour because of screaming and fighting neighbors in room next door. Took night employee over 30 minutes to calm these guests, another 30 to get rid of one of the guest. He did great. I asked for a refund the next morning and was refused. I asked if the guests next door would be charged extra for waking up the whole floor and below rooms for more than an hour between 2h30 and 3h30 am, and learned they would not be charged. The hotel should have a policy to charge extra for any disturbance.

I was very upset that I had to kill roaches everyday during my stay. I noticed the roaches when I first entered the room and I informed the front desk and someone came the next day to spray. However, even after they sprayed I still continued to see roaches and one day there was a waterbug in the hallway. Aside from the roaches, the WiFi was not conducive for the work I needed to do, since I work from home. The network kept kicking me off and even when I signed in on my phone the network barely worked for me. I reported this to the front desk as well and the lady informed me that she did not know why it was doing that especially because the router was right outside my room. She asked someone to reset it remotely since they were not present when I made the complaint but the issue still occurred. Oh, and the elevator was broke, but the staff was helpful when it came to carrying my bags and belongings upstairs. Other than that, it was a fairly decent place to stay. Would I stay there again… no because I despise bugs especially roaches and waterbugs. But, it’s a decent place to rest your head for a decent price should you have a membership with Expedia.

Pros: -great location, short walk to the beach. - nice view from room 216 Cons: - they charge a resort fee, and there are little to no amenities in the room. Our room had no washcloths and one towel although the reservation was for two people. We had to go to the front desk twice to get sufficient towels and washcloths. - Poor lighting in the room, it felt more like a basement area. - There is no temperature controls in the room. There is one central air vent that blew air continuously. It was cold outside and cold inside the room and we had no control over it. -There is no iron in the room and the safe does not work. - The bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was dust in corners, marks on the toilet bowl and the bathtub was old and had missing fixtures. It was hard to get the hot water because the knob turned continuously. - There is absolutely no free parking in the area so if you have a car, be prepared to pay for a garage or metered parking on the street.
Pros: -great location, short walk to the beach. - nice view from room 216 Cons: - they charge a resort fee, and there are little to no amenities in the room. Our room had no washcloths and one towel although the reservation was for two people. We had to go to the front desk twice to get sufficient towels and washcloths. - Poor lighting in the room, it felt more like a basement area. - There is no temperature controls in the room. There is one central air vent that blew air continuously. It was cold outside and cold inside the room and we had no control over it. -There is no iron in the room and the safe does not work. - The bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was dust in corners, marks on the toilet bowl and the bathtub was old and had missing fixtures. The property is older. Room has very limited amenities. Alarm clock did not work. TV very small. Bathroom is tiny and hair on the toilet and in the tub. Only toiletries was very small hand soap. Only bath towels. No hand towels or wash clothes. I won’t return.

We had a “king room” and got 2 twin size (indiv) beds. The decor is tacky(roof is brown), the curtains did not stop the sun so we woke up with a tan, there is no AC you can control.. there is a cental vent you can’t make cooler and it was very warm. There is a fan you turn on by pulling a chain. No water or fridge…. The sheets were white but actually brown and the towels were so old and broken in they were very very thin. We honestly spent the night and left early to shower elsewhere.

Check- in was terrible. I walked up to the front desk attendant and said to him “good evening” and instead of “ welcome” or “good evening” I was told “License Driver”. The first room I was assigned was terrible and the door would not close. I took a picture of the door because it seemed as if someone tried breaking in to the room with some kind of tool. The second room was grossed. I walked in and walked right out. The bed had a stained liner, there were no linens and the bathroom was dirty. The third and final room was ok. I do not recommend this hotel. I was able to get the front desk attendant to smile a bit but it took some work.

I stayed here for 3 days, it was fine, no issues, room was clean. Nothing fancy, no frills, good for a short stay, close to beach, CVS one block away, airport bus across the street. Refrigerator in room but no ice machine on the premises. A hair dryer in the room would also be helpful.

Pretty much the only thing we liked about this property was the location. It was a nice area. The property itself was not good. Their is no service in the room. You also get a $90 "resort" fee which makes you wonder what it's for. We had one very tiny small soap to share between two of us. One little packet of shampoo and two medium size towels. Nothing else. Oh, we had to go down and ask for a roll of paper towel since we only had one roll which was not full when we go there. The bathroom... let me just say that my closet at home is bigger. And much cleaner! Fortunately, we spent all the time outside having fun and went to the room only to sleep. Oh, and the bed frame was just sitting against the bed and not secured in any way. I has a cute little lobby, so it looks nice and cozy when you go in to the place, but that's about it. I will not be staying in the place again.

What can I say? A hotel with no AC is not a hotel. If the staff avoid telling exactly what’s going on in the property how can you make the right decision with the little time you have on your hands. Bad experience.

I'm not usually the type to complain, and I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to hotels. As long as I have a clean place to sleep, I'm happy. Unfortunately, this stay was a different story. The employee who checked me in didn't seem to be in the best mood and had a bit of an attitude, but I didn't think much of it. When I entered my room, the bed was unmade, there were random personal items scattered around, wet towels on the chairs, and the bathroom was even worse, the toilet wouldn't flush, and it was obvious the room hadn't been cleaned with used towels, shower not cleaned, and sheets unchanged. I went back to the front desk and asked if I had been given the wrong room because it honestly looked occupied. I was told my original room had a broken A/C, so this was the only room available. My options were to take the room with no A/C (In mid July) or stay in the dirty one, and I was actually encouraged to just use the dirty room. So basically a "Just suck it up" I was exhausted and only staying for two nights, so I accepted it and made the best of it since I wasn't planning on spending much time in my room anyways. On top of everything, the parking is awkward and expensive (You have to pay extra $30/night). I rarely leave negative reviews, but based on this experience, I can't recommend staying here.
