An older character Inn with a warm welcome and very comfortable room, in the centre of Wooler with free parking at the rear. En-suite bathroom was compact but adequate - good size room and great bed. Breakfast choice made the night before was freshly served and good quality. Cereals, toast, juice and drinks plentiful to help yourself. The chef was not working on the evening we stayed which was a disappointment as we had already decided on what to order before our arrival. However the Italian Restaurant behind the Black Bull was recommended and did not disappoint.

Highly recommend! If you're on a budget this accommodation can't be faulted. We stayed in a clean, comfortable and quiet room. Parking was available which was great. Would be happy staying here again.

Nice welcoming hotel, room was great, breakfast lovely and staff really helpful. Parking was a little bit limited. Really good location for exploring the Cheviots.

Nice pub with standard rooms. In nice location, central and easy to find. Easy and friendly check in, nice cooked breakfast too. Beds comfy. Shower was a little small. Whilst they didn't have anywhere to store bicycles indoors overnight, we were able to lock them under shelter in the tucked away Car Park at the back. Overall ideal for our one night stay.

Very impressed. From friendly welcome, to the comfort and cleanliness of the room and excellent breakfast, it much exceeded my expectations (particularly considering the price). Will definitely be staying here again any time im in the area. Thanks.

The Black Bull was a near perfect stay for us. The ladies who run the place were very helpful and gave us our room key (room 5) and the room next door (room 4) as our shower door was broken so we could use that room's shower. Room 4 had just been refurbished by the look of it but wasn't quite ready as had no curtains but I would say it would be a lovely room to stay in. The only reason it didn't give a 5 star is the toilet in our room. When I flushed it before bed it took ages to refill and made a lot of noise...I eventually used the kettle to fill the cistern so that we could sleep. I did tell them in the morning so hopefully that will be resolved. We ordered what we wanted on our full english when we arrived and agreed our time for breakfast. It was well cooked and you could help yourself to all other items. We have an electric car and there was a charger in the car park next door so we could get a full charge overnight. I would definitely recommend the Black Bull. :)

The room was fantastic with a bay window high up overlooking the street. It was well furnished with a very comfortable bed and we had a great nights sleep. The only downside was the bathroom which was 'compact' (not really a problem) but the shower did not work well in that that it never got beyond just above cold and had a miserable trickle of water. We spoke to staff before leaving and they were appalled that this had happened and were going to get it looked at. Overall, very happy to stay there again.

Great hotel very welcoming room 1st class bed very comfy shower fantastic host was 1st class contacted me as forgot my wallet with all my cards in it sent it 1st class all intact would not take any money for postage.would not hesitate to book again breakfast was 10 out 10.

Stayed here on a Sunday night on the way back from Scotland. The room was of a very high standard. The bed was a tad too soft - but other than that the stay was lovely.

Parking at the side of the pub in the bis station is a big plus but for us thats really where it ends, the bedroom was spacious being above am old pub but the mattress has seen better days and dipped badly in the middle, but the main problem was that there was what i can only describe as drum and bass music bouncing from a residence next door that wemt on till 2am! We were in room 12. I know that is not directly the pubs problem but if its spoiling what should be a peaceful nights sleep in a country pub then dont use that room!! We had to be up at 6am to go scuba diving in seahouses so not fun on 4 hours sleep, im sure it mist be heard in other rooms too so take heed, totally spoilt our peaceful night away.

Stayed for one night, the bar area was really busy when I arrived at around 1845hrs. Booking in was straightforward and the room was comfortable with an en-suite. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. I had a full breakfast, which was excellent, the staff were also very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, the location is an excellent base for touring the area, and the price of rooms are good value.

An older character Inn with a warm welcome and very comfortable room, in the centre of Wooler with free parking at the rear. En-suite bathroom was compact but adequate - good size room and great bed. Breakfast choice made the night before was freshly served and good quality. Cereals, toast, juice and drinks plentiful to help yourself. The chef was not working on the evening we stayed which was a disappointment as we had already decided on what to order before our arrival. However the Italian Restaurant behind the Black Bull was recommended and did not disappoint.

Very friendly staff and awesome location. Nice room and clean.bed a bit too soft for our taste. Otherwise, everything runs very smoothly. Definitely would recommend.

If you are looking for the authentic English village experience this is perfect. Beautiful old hotel with a nice pub on the first floor. Friendly people, two more pubs on the same corner. There’s a really beautiful forest nearby for good walks , it’s about a 30 min drive to the coast (Holy Island, Bamburgh etc). was really really enjoyable.

Comfortable, clean room in an old pub. Great staff. Wooler is surrounded by history and a great place to be to explore. Recommended.

Worth staying for the breakfast alone! But comfortable bed, hot and powerful shower, spacious room and great location (excellent Italian next door), handy for Bamburgh, Alnwick, Lindisfarne etc. Would definitely stay again.

Handy place to stay if you are exploring the area. The staff were really welcoming and we enjoyed our breakfast. Wooler is a really nice town as well.

Stayed for one night, the bar area was really busy when I arrived at around 1845hrs. Booking in was straightforward and the room was comfortable with an en-suite. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. I had a full breakfast, which was excellent, the staff were also very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, the location is an excellent base for touring the area, and the price of rooms are good value.

Nice welcoming hotel, room was great, breakfast lovely and staff really helpful. Parking was a little bit limited. Really good location for exploring the Cheviots.

Right in the centre; a proper local pub. Don't expect top class luxury but for the price, it's great value. Clean comfort room and bathroom, good evening menu and a perfect breakfast. Very friendly staff. I'd definitely stay again.

Unfortunately the chef was off sick so only had breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant next door and plenty of other food available in the town.

We were in twin room room 6 at the front of the property, it overlooked the main road but we found it very quiet. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed. Lovely steak pie, mashed potatoes and veg in the evening followed by trifle (these are never on menus!) Great breakfast the next morning, nice filter coffee and yoghurts. Will come again.

The Black Bull lodgings and Staff were excellent. Anne was especially gracious. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious. Heartily recommend staying here.

Lovely traditional hotel with a busy and friendly bar. Our room (Suite) was huge with a fabulous four-poster bed. Superb value for money and excellent location.

A room above a pub, we were two floors up so there were no issues with noise. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The bathroom is in need of a refresh, however the breakfast more than made up for it. Definitely more than adequate as a bed for the night, but less so a destination accommodation. It was perfect for our needs, as we were spending a day at Berwick. Free parking is always a bonus. The price was a true reflection of what we got. The restaurant next door (Milan) provided an excellent meal, though it possibly wouldn't make the Green Book in terms of hospitality. IYKYK.

The Black Bull is a lovely old building and has loads of character. Despite some reviews we found the locals really friendly and happy to talk. Our 2 Dachshunds loved it. Especially when our young 'Fred' escaped the room and went to the dining room for breakfast,😂no complaints. Down side, room was really hot and needs a fan. Bed was comfy and room was good size. Drinks reasonable price and staff were helpful. Wooler was nice to walk round. Had fish and chips at local which were nice. Barney and Fred gave it a good 🐾 up
