Starlight Inn Canoga Park

I honestly liked nothing about the property. I had to wait 5 minutes at the front desk before anyone came. And once they did come they took my ID, my partners ID, and my credit card and asked for $20 fee for check in although I booked online. They also asked for $20 as cash so I believe there is no check in fee and they’re just trying to scam people. The person who checked me in asked me three times if I had any pets with me when I told him no the first time. The TV barley worked I had to press the buttons multiple times and later on in the night when I walked around the room my socks got wet because the floor was wet. I would not stay here again. They also had no elevator so if you have a disability and cannot go up stairs hopefully they have a room on the first floor. I would definitely not stay here if I were a solo women, I’m glad I had my partner with me because the area is also a bit sketchy.

Sleep was not an option due to the high amount of activity throughout the place. There were few channels available on the tv and when getting my deposit back they requested my signature before giving me my money. I had to request to see the money upfront before I signed it and it was like making an illegal transaction. My guy was worried about leaving me there when he had to leave early and I was a little uneasy myself. Needless to say we won’t go there again.

Here's what we liked: (1) Friendly, knowledgeable staff, (2) Clean, but simple, (3) Had our favorite HGTV channel, (4) Bug free Here's what we disliked: (1) WE HAD TO MAKE A $100 CASH DEPOSIT! It was refundable at checkout, but who carries that amount of cash when credit cards are available?! We had to drive to a nearby ATM and pay a transaction fee! NOT HAPPY! (2) Parking lot is tight in an essentially one-way path (check it out using Google's satellite view of the property). Neutral: There was a lighting option to turn the room blue.

Nice cozy hotel, I was over charged for choosing a non smoking room $30.00 and asked for a cash security deposit $20.00, the vending machine did not have water for sale. my shower very uncomfortable.

I stay there and I got bed bugs bites I talk to front desk try to talk to manager but still not responding my stay there was 09 /26/2025 till today 10_02_2025 manager haven't responded I went to urgent care to take care of my skin very bad service

Room was discusting, smelled of smoke and requested $100 cash deposit on top of my room rate. Will never stay here again.

I didn’t like the dirty carpet and chair, also the non smoking rooms smelled like a smoking room and wasn’t kid friendly

I didnt like the amount of hair that was in between sheets. And my wife found a bed bug in the bed. So we didnt stay the night at the hotel.

Don't stay here. Floors were dirty, the bed cover had cigarette burn holes, recliner chair was very gross to look at. Got a non smoking room and the room reeked!

Room not clean

This is the worst property I have ever stayed in. The staff are computer illiterate, and boarderline rude. There was no coffee pot in the room (just an inconvenience I haven't ever dealt with) and a bisted fridge. Also there were roaches in the room causing additional time for checkput as we needed to make sure our luggage was clean. Nasty. Do not stay here!

My stay was rather late evening to early morning. The only complaints are the propinquity of Winnetka Ave. with the attendant noises. The second thing I noticed is that the bathtub/shower was very slippery once it was wet. It might be a good investment to put some anti-slip appliques on the tub floor.

Rooms are not like pictures, small, dirty, would not recommend

The only reason 4 stars - no hair dryer and closet, other than that very nice motel

It was a nice stay for a couple of hours to rest but chair was broken. Look like blood on the ceiling and the room was small.

From the outside looks ok but once you’re in your room it’s OLD and furniture is broken or ripped. This is definitely a sex service motel dressed as a Hotel. Would NOT bring family here it’s old, musty and dirty.

I cannot put into words how gross this place was!! You are not "allowed" visitors, overpriced, the wifi doesn't work... I have stayed in bad places but this was by far the WORST!!

When I was checking in they told me they need a credit card on file, that was OK. Then they told me they need $100 in cash as a deposit. I had to leave and go find an ATM to get them the cash. Normally when you check out you can just leave and leave the card key in the room. Instead I had to got to the lobby and give them the key to get my cash back.

Staff service was the worst, They are very arrogant when serving you

Staff too slow for service and bad attitudes as customer service, beds in very bad conditions, towels ready for trash,

You pay everything with card and when you get to the window they ask you for a 100 in cash and I didn’t have 100 and it was already closing for check in and had no vehicle so had to cancel and sleep outside Sketchy as hell to take 100 in cash and everything in card It was only one Indian man at the counter

No Staff had to call twice… cash deposits was the worst. Left immediately staff gave me a hard time…. Horrible service and dirty/trashy. Consider not partnering with them.

Good location, clean from outside. Room old and not clean…bed spread was disgustingly dirty. Bath towel had a hole in it. Unfriendly check in. They repeated the rules at least 3 times!

They would not let my fiend help me up with luggage because they forgot their ID. I guess the rough neighborhood necessities those measure for fear of vandalism.
