Silver Pines Lodge

Enjoyed my stay and perfectly accessible to everything and near the best restaurant in town, Fero an Italian restaurant, it was just steps away. I brought my dog with me and loved that it was pet friendly and the rooms smelled fresh. Very clean and beautiful landscaping too

Beautiful majestic trees, right out front and a circle of four wooden two seater swings with a fountain at the center. To enjoy your morning coffee and the birds singing or the golden as the sun sets. I enjoyed it reading, journaling, and meditation time here as well.… As well as some silly conversations with my teenage daughter and her friend.I think it’s unique how kind and helpful the staff is and how after two days I just want to live in this community and see these people every day. The big lodge was welcoming and had peaceful music playing and a puzzle set up that we enjoyed visiting every day and going out to visit all of the Koi fish in the beautiful pond. Relaxing and refreshing Water fall sounds everywhere on the property mix so well with the sound of the birds and the beautiful majestic trees and clean breathing. It was a wonderful retreat! The cabin had a fireplace and beautiful stained glass windows and tall, high ceilings everywhere, even in the spacious bathroom. It was like a deluxe cabin at such an affordable price. We had cabin number 15 and the adorable tab… Oh, and the water pressure… I wanted to take a shower there every day for the rest of my life! Thank you so much. Usually I could not afford something so nice for two nights. It was really such a pleasure and I hope many more people get to enjoy the peace and beauty I experienced.

Wonderful property. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. It also had a fully stocked kitchen we used to make Thanksgiving dinner. Very spacious, lots of upgrades, comfortable beds. Pet friendly. Highly recommend! *However, be aware that the price you pay with expedia does not represent true total. You will pay a cleaning fee as well as a pet fee if applicable at Silver Pines Lodge, which was not very transparent.

Very nice and cozy room. Super convenient location right in the village, yet off the main busy road. We could easily walk to everything. Loved the fireplace. Walls are thin but it was still quiet and peaceful. Worker who checked us in was very nice and let us check in an hour early. Only minus would be bathroom and shower is very small. I'd stay here again.

Adequate but not terribly comfortable. The cabin is shabby and not sparkling clean. To add insult to injury is the additional cleaning fee imposed upon check in. The koi pond and common lounge are a nice touch

The cabins were beautiful and clean, and the service was very friendly. We got the mama bear unit. Great location! Everything is walking distance. Unfortunately, my actual stay within the unit was very uncomfortable. All the furniture (bed, sofas, patio furniture, chairs) were really difficult to sit on for any period of time. My fiancée and I booked two nights to get away and reset, and we left exhausted and sore from no sleep. Furniture is really outdated and the sofas are futons in which you can feel every spring and slats. The bed was like sleeping on concrete. Was looking forward to a hot tub, as shown on hotels.com pics, but I learned upon check in that the photos from all properties are combined and they only have hot tubs for certain private properties (three bears do NOT have hot tubs). Got excited about the jets in the bathtub, but they didn’t work. All in all, would book Silver Pines again, but would look into the private properties they look like they might have more comfortable furniture based on pics.

Beautiful location nested among the pine trees. We all loved the antiques lobby next to the reception. The fish pond in the premise with soothing water stream sound makes it memorable. Easy access to restaurants and grocery store adds convenience. Patio with overlooking water creek is perfect to enjoy the coffee. Overall its a nice and cozy refreshing place.

From the staff to the grounds, it was excellent. They have a beautiful Koi Pond and a nice little trail to follow as well. Most of all it was very quiet there and my husband and I need to get away for the weekend. It was perfect. Thank you, Silver Pines.

Pioneer cabin #3 is in severe need of rehab in addition to being dirty. Filthy carpet, windows won't operate, mold in shower, towels smell like mildew, hinges on back door broken. Extra beds are stained futons/couches. I understand it is an old cabin but it could be a nice, clean old cabin. Won't be going back.

I love the location. You can walk to the little town as it is only a 5-10 minute. The cabin itself was not in cleanest of conditions. I am surprised that a cleaning fee is issued. I rate a 4/10 in cleanliness. The property grounds are cute and it is quiet in the area. Would I stay here again, perhaps for a night only.

Room was dirty, the restroom did not flush properly. Water took long to get warm. My sandal accidentally fell off and when I stepped on the rug it was sticky. The room had a dirty smell too.

The property is old, built in 1923 but is VERY clean. No weird "old" odors or anything like that. Staff was great, great setting. We will be back!

Hotels.com allows you to "choose a room" based on pictures provided by the SPL. You aren't actually going to get the room that is pictured in your booking. You are securing a "comfort cabin" or a "room" which allows the SPL to assign you a place to stay based on availability. I found this out the hard way. I chose a cabin based on the pictures and compared them to the pictures on the SPL's actual site. I thought I chose the "mama bear" cabin based on the "choose a room" option on hotels.com. I was actually assigned #3 "Pioneer Cabin. It's the older red framed/white trimmed units for SPL. Upon arrival we discovered the fridge and most of the outlets didn't work. SPL did send someone to trip the breakers the next morning because I had emailed them (we arrived after the office was closed). The food we brought had already spoiled by the time the fridge was working. Seeing the cabin in daylight was a shocker. It's filthy, gross, smelly and has no business being rented out. The shower curtain is filled with mold, the crusty carpet is smelly and discolored and the walls, door frames, thermostat, light switches and corners are grimy, filthy and gross. I have sent a second email to the SPL requesting a resolution because I really feel ripped off after staying in #3!

Great location and friendly staff. The property really needed a deep clean, and there were lots of dirty spots. The furniture was a little worn and uncomfortable, but we still enjoyed our stay!

Just old and tired. Needs a lift in furniture and facilities. The portable fan didn’t work and the dishes were stuck together. 😟

We absolutely loved the location of this property! Our room overlooked the beautiful woods and had a running creek at the bottom, which was easily accessible on foot. This little gem led to a small cascade at the end of the trail and can also be used as a shortcut to the Idyllwild Brewery! We just have 2 notes that we believe could enhance the overall experience: 1. The bed we slept on was not very comfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The pillows were too flat and needed to be fluffier, and the sheets could use an upgrade as well. 2. Some of the windows were missing screens, allowing unwanted bugs to enter. Other than that, this was a nice little cabin that certainly makes you feel one with nature.

Very rustic - a little run down. However, it is cozy and in a wonderful location to access Idyllwild. They make it easy to check in late, but their property map could be improved.

FALSE LISTING! Rooms have no air conditioning and they get really really hot...im currently at home and not working cause of heat exhaustion from staying there...and not really refunded well enough for what i went through...choose another property at idyllwild

Escaped up from Palm Desert for the night into the Library Room. Beautiful stained glass windows above the bed and other areas. Enjoyed the decor along with reading early '80s National Geographic mags. Without AC the room was warm till 11pm-ish, but really enjoyed the stay overall. Neighbors from Borrego Springs were cool in shared patio area.

We had a shared porch which meant that our room shared a wall too. So we had to be pretty quiet because we didn't want to disturb the other guests. We did hear their voices. But that was the only complaint! It was so lovely staying there. Super close to the main Idyllwild area, great for dogs, cute vibes and fun to build a fire at night :)

The air conditioning didn’t work

2nd time weve stayed here, this time we were in the room Aspen #21. It did not disappoint. We came in late for a really late check in and Raj had our room nice and toasty with a fire going. Awesome hospitality from all who manage The Silver Pines Lodge.

It wasn't bad for the price except the kitchen cleaning fee at checkout I wasn't aware of but the property is nice nice views. Owner is nice and they do have pretty good prices thru Expedia. My only real big complaint about this stat was the check in. I booked at 7:45pm and there was nobody at the office at 8pm I waited 30 min for someone to arrive somehow missed them so they stuck my key to the board out front I eventually notice it and had to call again because they have multiple properties and I didn't know where this one was located. When I get there it's a long walk down some stairs in the pitch black it would have been nice if the attendant could have at least turned on the outside light to see. Up in the mountains we literally just had a mountain lion snag a deer in my clients backyard not even a 1/8 mile from the hotel so the lights would have been nice to have on. But other then that it was good

I loved my stay at Silver Pines Lodge, it was very cozy and comfortable! Room 22 was clean and had a calming interior. When I wasn’t out and about, I enjoyed hanging out in the room by the fireplace. It is conveniently located near the main street where all the shops are, but still nice and quiet. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Will be back!

I notified an issue with the bathtub but it was not fixed, even if I was told it would have been taken care of. Disappointing.

This is one of the most amazing places I've stayed at, and the staff was very accommodating and perfect.

Its the perfect location. No need to drive to the center of the town, you already there.
