Such a cute place! I wanted cozy, rustic cabin vibes and it 100% delivered. Loved having my own fireplace, patio, and being able to walk into town. The owners had clear communication and check in was very easy (self-check-in). The ONLY negative I can say is that the walls are very thin, I could hear my neighbors TV very clearly, people talking outside, and traffic going by (it’s right on the main road into town), but the AC unit drowned out most of the noise, and it was fine at night. It was the perfect spot for me and my dog overall though. I’d stay here again!

The Fireside in is a cozy and comfortable cabin space. Overall perfect for a night getaway. The town surrounding does close relatively early so food around may be limited in selection. There’s a couple things to fix up in the bathroom and amenities. I would happily stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay in”Fern”. It was a charming well appointed cabin located walking distance from town. We never used our car. There were outdoor couches under the pine trees which were very nice to hang out in. Everything was clean and parking was assigned and right by our room. We would definitely stay there again.

The king sized bed and pillows were comfortable, but we didn't use the stone fireplace because it wasn't cool enough yet. Check-in went smoothly because we used a code, not a key. The A/C worked well and the location was a short walk from the center of town. There were some light bulbs missing (over the kitchenette sink, the overhead ceiling fan), so it was very dim in the room. The reading lights over the nightstand tables were too dim to read by (one was strobing). The shades on the window provided privacy but did not block the security light outside. The grapevine outdoor furniture and the place in general exhibits deferred maintenance, looking overall tired.

Loved my little cabin! So much room. Plenty of storage. Cute little patio. Parking. Walk to town. A few more wine glasses would have been nice. Ice in the freezer was old. I had to throw it out. One more roll of paper towels could have been useful. The maids have the place right next door and they are noisy in the morning. Fireplace was great. Bring your own firewood or a duraflame log. Heater got hot very fast. Staff was friendly and communicated via text in a timely manner. King bed was so comfortable. Pet bowls under the sink were very thoughtful and poop bags out front, but they ran out. I love that they are so pet friendly! I would definitely stay here again.

The property is only a couple city block from the town square . The town square has multiple antique and thrifts shops - So much nostalgia . Prices reasonable. The room was rustic as expected and the wood burning fireplace was very nice. WiFi also available with good connection and excellent cell tower connection.

The best thing about the home is being able to walk to the town. And the hot tub is clean and a great addition. Kitchen is big and well stocked. The only drawback for me personally was the big bison head staring at the master bed. I couldn’t sleep in there. So I slept in one of the little rooms. Also there is no window coverings in the big room so you are definitely getting up with the sun

Liked the quaintness. Bed was comfortable. Cleanliness was good. Didn’t like the bathroom. Shower and toilet need updated. The electrical setup was dangerous. You had to unplug the toaster from an ext. cord to plug in the refrigerator, that plugged into an adapter on the ext cord. No instructions for the heater or the fireplace. When we turned the heater on it smelled like it was dirty. The bed sheets are showing wear.

Initial room had a cleanliness problem. We were offered another room which was clean. Fireplace was the main attraction. Good value for the money. Property needs stained sink and tub replaced. Overall average rate due to positives of fireplace and rustic setting. Management very responsive and seems dedicated to assuring a pleasant stay.

We really loved this location and the vibes of the cabin however there may be a mouse problem… lots of droppings in all the cabinets and drawers where kitchen utensils are… it was very unsettling because we could not prepare food here and that was one of the main reasons why we chose the more expensive bigger cabin - because it has a full kitchen… the appliances were very nice but again the mouse poops really threw us off… some highlights, the bathroom was shiny and immaculately clean, the fridge was very spacious and clean, seemed brand new to be honest, we loved all of the dishes and pots and pans, the bed was large and comfy and we really loved the over all vibes. Super cute. Just disappointed to find mouse poops and the couch could use a good clean, it had an interesting smell and had stains… would have rated it as five stars but unfortunately I just can’t.

I keep returning because of the set up with kitchenette, which allows me to make my own meals. Superficial surfaces are a bit dated but it’s a rustic experience. Beds are comfortable with fluffy comforters and the cabin was clean. The cleaning service seems better under new ownership (I always start by going over surfaces with disinfectant wipes and the wipes showed white even after a once over)

This is a property very much in need of renovation. The good part is the cabin was clean and the kitchen had a new refrigerator, stove and microwave. Everything else in the cabin was shabby, missing pieces of wood, needed reupholstering or just plain needed to be updated. The toilet in the bathroom is angled so close to the door that a tall person could not comfortably utilize it. This facility is certainly not worth the price. The TV was inoperable for the first day. There was a fenced area next to the cabin that was filled with junk. The view from the bedroom window was another area of the property strewn with more junk. There was a fireplace but no wood. There was a pod coffeemaker with only two pods for the 2 days stay and no daily maid service. There is no staff on premises. On the positive side the bed was comfortable although the bedding was worn. The location is great with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. This could be a very beautiful property if the owners invested in renovating the cabins.

I’ll start off by saying that the location of this property was perfect. It was walking distance to the main town which made it very convenient. Even with that, I would not stay here again. I stayed in the Redwood cabin and it looked NOTHING like the photos. The photos online made the room look trendy, hip and upgraded. Instead, the room was dusty, outdated and some things in the room were broken and falling apart. I hope the other cabins are in better condition.

The bedroom needs room darkening shades. There should be additional in the living room and kitchen areas. The bathroom tiles are peeling. The living room is very spacious and has a gorgeous view of the trees. There is a normal-size kitchen.

We loved the wood cabin coziness and decor. The bed was comfortable, cabin was clean and there was a nice supply of silverware, glasses and dishes. It was nice to have a good minifridge in the room for chilling drinks for the following day's hike. The location of the Inn is quiet, yet just up the street from the central town area. You can hear noises from the adjacent cabin with a shared wall, but guests seem to be pretty quiet. We loved the cute porch. Check in is super easy and streamlined. Overall, this is a great place, and we would definitely stay here again.

There were some inconveniences. the lighting was very poor, and some of the lights had odd yellow tints to them. The bar of soap they gave you was tiny--basically enough for just two showers. The door had difficulty locking because the deadbolt didn't line up exactly with the hole. And the shower door didn't stay closed. So, big picture issues were all good but they needed to spend a little more time on the details.

the room was unexpectedly large and comfortable with a small kitchenette. It is a throwback in time with knotty pine walls and fireplace. All a little old fashioned, and all very clean and well kept. The plumbing was noisy, but this is a small price to pay for the lack of pretension and the ambiance.

The room is fine and everything worked. There is, however, an incessant humming noise in the Ponderosa unit. I could not determine where it came from, but it was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. Please fix this problem!

This was a very cozy cabin that was close to a lot in town making it easy to walk to and fro. The only complaint I have is the bathroom was small and I felt a bit cramped in there which is funny to me since I am only 5'5". I would come again but I might check out a different room.

We love the Fireside Inn, and stay every year when our kid goes to AstroCamp. It is the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell your friends about. Super friendly owners, very available as needed. A little routine maintenance in some of the larger cabins would not go amiss.

Fireside Inn is so cute! My cabin/room is adorable. It’s perfect. And it’s so close to everything! There’s no staff, but it’s an easy check-in and they are available by text or phone. I’ll be back.

Nice little cabin for a reasonable price. The kitchenette was just well equipped enough to get the job done. The location was great. No real interaction with staff. All communication was done by text. This worked fine.

Super convenient for walking to everywhere in town. The caretaker was great and provided us a mattress topper when the bed was too hard the first night. The room smelled like wood smoke even after three days with the windows open. The kitchen provided a small fridge, stove and a toaster but no coffee maker. Instant coffee and powdered creamer don’t cut it. Had to get up and go get coffee every morning.

This property is extremely unique. It's a collection of cabins. Some are attached to one another but, unlike a motel, they are individual units. Think of a... Triplex? Like a duplex? You share a very thick wall but, when inside, it feels like a full size cabin. Additionally, it's very quiet. It's small & is a very small business. Chances are you will never talk to, or see, staff unless you need help with your booking. They are very kind & accommodating. If you leave a msg, they will contact you almost immediately. I have tried 2 of the smaller units. 1. Ponderosa: basically a studio with separate, small kitchen & 3/4 fridge, breakfast table, lots of windows & bathroom. It's perfect for one or 2 ppl, shorter stays, or if you won't be inside too much. 2. Fern: 1 bdrm, full bath, kitchen & full size appliances. Larger eating area. Both offer lots of closet space, large dressers, fireplaces & efficient heaters controlled with a thermostat. For a variety of reasons I have stayed at a number of places in Idyllwild. Some more expensive. Some newer or recently refurbished. The Fireside Inn is, hands down, the best place I have stayed. Re: Cleanliness & quality: spotless & very well cared for inside & out. With such a variety of units & prices, there is something for everyone. You can't get better than the Fireside Inn. I know, this sounds like I know them. I swear, I don't. This is a completely above board review. It's really this great! ☺️

I’ve stayed in every room of this property over the years, including this one multiple times. It’s a great property. The rooms are quaint and well appointed. The check in process is simple, but I do miss having someone around at the property during the day when things arose like the lighter for the fireplace being empty (had to go to the store to get one myself) or there not being a corkscrew (which has always been in each room prior). The heater, for some unknown reason, also decided to not kick on during the first night and my room was 46 degrees when I woke up! Worked fine the second night. I will continue to stay here, it’s still the best property in town in my opinion.

The Fireside Inn is the coziest, most charming place I’ve ever stayed in Idyllwild. I was amazed by how close it is to downtown Idyllwild, the walkability was fantastic! We could easily stroll to all the shops, and the convenient parking was such a relief after a long drive. The interior was absolutely lovely. I couldn’t get enough of it.

I loved the Fireside Inn. So cozy and comfortable. I can't wait to visit again. The room was a great size and everything I needed and more. It's close to town and everything else. Parking was a little tight with the snow but all guests of the Inn made it work. You do need to bring your own firewood but easy to find in town.

Great little find. Have passed this place for numerous years and decided to stay the night. Would definitely stay again. The room was very cozy and the location was superb. No staff interaction so I can't leave a rating on that. The text service on how to check in and check out was very thorough and easy to understand.

A very cozy property, tho did not have the 'kitchen' advertized, just a small fridge, a small kettle and dishes. No microwave. Very comfortable bed and charming furnishings. The blanket, tho clean, did have a large hole, as did the shower mat. But all very clean and comfy. Very reasonable ratesWould stay again.

Such a great little spot! Come prepared with your own firewood for the fireplace. Things in town close relatively early but there’s a market not even a minute drive down the road that’s open til 8 perfect to grab necessities at and cook a cozy meal in your cabin. You’re pretty close to the other guests but not sharing walls so it feels like the perfect balance of secluded but not scary and isolated. Perfect weekend getaway spot!

the room was unexpectedly large and comfortable with a small kitchenette. It is a throwback in time with knotty pine walls and fireplace. All a little old fashioned, and all very clean and well kept. The plumbing was noisy, but this is a small price to pay for the lack of pretension and the ambiance.

It was a quaint and roomie cabin with all the necessities. We loved the location, bael shop is 1 minute walk for a great breakfast. Plenty of restaurants walking distance for dinner. We had a wonderful time!

My wife and I enjoyed our time in Idyllwild and at the Fireside Inn! We would have preferred a larger refrigerator and it would have been nice to have even a small table and a couple of chairs to eat at. But on the whole, we had a wonderful time and stay! We also really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace in the room!

The place is cute and if we were staying in a different cabin, it might have gotten a better review. Our cabin, Ponderosa, had a smell to it when we first checked in (love the easy check-in, by the way). We turned on the A/C and opened a window, but by the time we got back later at night, it still smelled bad -- like an animal urinated in it -- and we smelled it all night. Fortunately our stay was 1 night. Our friends were staying in another cabin, and theirs was nicer (but also had been updated recently), so I know the overall accommodations are better than what we got. Be sure to bring your own lotion (shampoo/conditioner & a soap bar are provided). But K-cups, creamer pods, and sugar are provided, which was great. No nightstands to place your phone, reading material, or glass of water because the bed takes up all the space. Also difficult for the person next to the closet to get out of bed. Road noise was not bad. Too warm to use the fireplace but we sat in the chairs next to it for morning coffee, and the chairs were comfy. It is a cozy space.

Room was run down no closet or hooks to hang clothes. Bathroom rusted rails and drawers broken. No light in room very dark. No hairdryer shower knobs hard to turn. Place needs major overhaul old and run down a lot of $ for that.
