Inn is on the National Historic Landmark list. Main house has wonderful character and charm. We had a room on the third floor with a small gas stove. They also have a restaurant and the food was outstanding. We expect to come back many times. Staff was friendly.

The cabin was what I expected. The grounds looked sad. The fridge could have been bigger and the web site could have identified what type of coffee maker they had. messaging in advance was met with no response. The towels were fine, but the wash cloths were dingy. There was no bath mat. The beds were nice. The TV wasn’t hooked up to anything. It was quiet. What I paid for two nights, I expected more.

Check website for "extras" like weekend food options and fun things across the street, enjoyed the pm music and nordic sauna! Great front porch with a view, lovely tubs in rooms, lots of personality! Definitely read details on room location if guests with mobility issues but lovely!

Mixed excellent with one major issue with our late check in. No lights on at cottage or on the property to get to cottage which was pitch dark and no clear direction to cottage except in email, a description. A safety concern, as well as several minutes of anxiety for all 4 party members. I finally found the cottage, without help or answer to my phone message to the emergency number provided, using the light on my cell phone. Parking was also unclear on arrival with a coned off area of sunken asphalt that my husband stepped in due to the poor lighting. Separately from this, delightful staff, very easy to work with on all details.

This was a stay "back in time". Most importantly, it was clean and quiet. Our grandparents had homes like our room and we are now grandparents, so it was awhile ago. So, it was very nostalgic for us, but we felt unsafe in the bathroom. The shower curtains were in the bottom of the tub and would have been easy to trip up on. There was only one outlet for us to re-charge our electronics on. The lighting was very poor. We somewhat enjoyed our stay because of the nostalgic factor, but really missed the conveniences of today.

Loved the location and area. Disappointed in responsiveness of staff, very disappointed in the bed/ horrible mattress (did not rest well) and limited ceiling height in the 3rd floor converted artic—in the Cherry room. Surprised by squeaky floors, road noise and surprised by noise level from nearby rooms. Our first stay there and we aren’t inclined to go back again.

It was okay. Quaint atmosphere, but Noisy Road next to Inn. Close to nearby attractions 7-10 miles. At this price and all the taxes loaded on it, it should have offered free breakfast. The First morning a continental breakfast was offered, but not the second day (as they were bringing in a chef to cook a full breakfast at a cost). Recommend local police put a crosswalk to go to the barn across the street and flashing warning lights around the bend to slow down speeders. Very dangerous especially for children.

Sweet historic house in the heart of Valle Crucis, great communication and easy self check-in. Check website for "extras" like weekend food options and fun things across the street, enjoyed the pm music and nordic sauna! Great front porch with a view, lovely tubs in rooms, lots of personality! Definitely read details on room location if guests with mobility issues but lovely!

This was a stay "back in time". Most importantly, it was clean and quiet. Our grandparents had homes like our room and we are now grandparents, so it was awhile ago. So, it was very nostalgic for us, but we felt unsafe in the bathroom. The shower curtains were in the bottom of the tub and would have been easy to trip up on. There was only one outlet for us to re-charge our electronics on. The lighting was very poor. We somewhat enjoyed our stay because of the nostalgic factor, but really missed the conveniences of today.

Unique combination on grounds of old log cabin and old farmhouse. My room in old farmhouse was not clean. Windows in building not clean. Third floor. room was a difficult climb. Parking not convenient across the street, and poor visibility for possible approaching traffic.

Loved the location and area. Disappointed in responsiveness of staff, very disappointed in the bed/ horrible mattress (did not rest well) and limited ceiling height in the 3rd floor converted artic—in the Cherry room. Surprised by squeaky floors, road noise and surprised by noise level from nearby rooms. Our first stay there and we aren’t inclined to go back again.

It was okay. Quaint atmosphere, but Noisy Road next to Inn. Close to nearby attractions 7-10 miles. At this price and all the taxes loaded on it, it should have offered free breakfast. The First morning a continental breakfast was offered, but not the second day (as they were bringing in a chef to cook a full breakfast at a cost). Recommend local police put a crosswalk to go to the barn across the street and flashing warning lights around the bend to slow down speeders. Very dangerous especially for children.

Inn is on the National Historic Landmark list. Main house has wonderful character and charm. We had a room on the third floor with a small gas stove. They also have a restaurant and the food was outstanding. We expect to come back many times. Staff was friendly.

Charming old mt farmhouse but not acceptable for a hotel or motel. We were in “Aunt Leona’s Room.” Nice small walk-in shower. Plenty of hot water. But: uncomfortable bed , floor creaks loudly with every step, no bath trowels; instead we had 3 bath mats. Desk clerk left at 4 pm, locked the front door, put up “closed “ sign. A prepaid guest arrived at 4:30 to check in and was locked out. No restaurants open within 15 miles. The lodge provides in room coffee but no breakfast and no food nearby. The ceiling is so low on this third floor room that you hit your head. Cool air from AC is right over the bed and blows right down on your face. No fire escape for third floor rooms. Two very narrow and steep stair cases to drag your luggage up. Three unlabeled light switches in bathroom. If you turn one of the three on, it creates an. Immediate loud sound like a fire alarm?!?!?! We checked out at 7:30 Am. Front door still locked and no desk clerk on site. We are not demanding guests — but this was not a pleasant stay.

I have wanted to stay at the Mast Farm Inn for ages and it was worth the wait - so much charm! The room was beautiful and comfortable. Loved having a drink at the barn across the street and enjoying the garden

We stayed in the Loom House, not until we arrived did we know we were to occupy the oldest habitable log home in NC. While the bed was comfortable, the small fridge was iced up and smelled of old food. There was no TV. There were nail heads sticking up out of the floor upstairs and the floor creaked loudly every time we got out of bed to walk to the bathroom. It was not a place for older people to stay with the narrow stairs and small shower. The cabin is quite near the busy road so lots of truck noise early in the AM. The desk staff gave us zero advice on amenities at check-in (except for the Wi-Fi password). There was no breakfast offered (except on weekends, apparently) and the nearest restaurant was 5 miles away over mountain passes/ switchback roads. Parking was tight (and not managed well with no designated lines) When we returned after dinner one night, there were no spots left (due to wide parking by tenants) and overflow parking was across the road.
