We had a great stay at the hotel. The location is great, easy to find, plenty of parking and very close to sea front in a quiet a picturesque setting. Our Room was lovely, very comfortable bed, everything else you need and a stunnung sea view. Food was very nice, high quality breakfast and staff were friendly, attentive and couldnt do more for you which creates a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend and im sure we'll be back when next in the area.

Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. Hotel dates back to the 16th Century and therfore has no lift so if infirm or have mobility issues beware, some steps are quite step. Room was clean, loads of storage and had wonderful sea views all round. Free tea ,coffee and water were a plus. Breakfast had a wonderful selection and the full English was fantastic. Service was quick, fuss free and friendly throughout our stay. Large free car park . Set in a small hamlet with no shops or facilities as such so don't expect Blackpool! . Peace and quiet the order of the day (and night). great as a base to explore the surrounding area, beaches and towns. A car is a must because of the distances and hills. Good road access to all of Dorset. Highly recommended.

Lovely setting in West Bexington. The manor is good value. People are lovely and Jordan is a great asset to the team. Food at venue is good and the Drinks available more than adequate. It’s an old hotel so don’t expect everything to be flash and ultra modern, however the atmosphere is homely and calm. Very dog friendly.

If you want a break away from the hustle this is the perfect tonic. Staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. An idyllic setting, walk down to the pebble beach or use this as a base to drive to the nearby places and come back and enjoy the wonderful food/drinks in the spacious gardens. Thank you!

It was a pleasant place to stay for one night and good value but as it is an older building people should be aware that there are a lot of stairs and steps between different parts of the hotel, bar and restaurant, so not recommended for those with mobility issues.

Lovely hotel. We had a great nights sleep. The service was a bit hit and miss on the night of our visit and they seemed a little unorganised. The food was lovely though. The bathroom was a little tired with black mold. Hard to access the bar area through the hotel as the stairs down are not the best if your mobility is not perfect.

Really lovely staff and a great bar downstairs. Only complaint (hence 4 stars). We were up in a top floor room and it was so insanely hot. We turned off the radiators and opened the window but the minute you stepped into the corridor you were sweating again. We enjoyed the bar quiz, but not the drunks outside in the beer garden at 1am! Meals were fab, good selection of beers. Beautiful decor.

Beautiful, quiet location set in spacious grounds. The hotel is well presented & the staff very helpful. Access to rooms on the upper floors is via length staircases. Our room 23 was on the top floor, with a small window looking out to the sea. The room was spacious, clean with a large bed but let down with broken window locks & a shower that required re-grouting. The cellar bar is a nice touch with draught lagers & ales & a good selection of wines & spirits. Meals & snacks are also available here. I would definitely stay again but would hope to see improvement in room presentation.

The staff were lovely and breakfast very good. Even the beans were hot. However the door as you go in to your room is shabby looking, as was the skirting boards. Carpet was stained and paint on the lights. It just needs some TLC. Such a pity when it has everything else. I think when it is classed as a manor you expect a bit better. Saying all that the staff were lovely and the area beautiful.

All these good reviews!! They have obviously not stayed in room 10. It was not shabby chic it was just shabby and dirty. The toilet had pee and poo stains under the lid, I asked if a member of staff could come and clean it and they did. The shower cubicle had black mould everywhere, which could have been cleaned and I don’t think the shower head has ever been cleaned!! There were stains on the walls, table and carpet. I had to clean the teaspoons as they were dirty. If I hadn’t already paid in full for the 2 nights through Hotels.com I would not have stayed. If I could have moved rooms I would but they were apparently full. The only good thing about the room was the bed, the bed linen was clean and it was comfortable. The food was good and tasty and the staff were polite and helpful. It spoilt the end of my holiday.

Location is beautiful and the accomodation was full of character. Food was lovely, we had a selection of starters for dinner and breakfast in the morning (broccoli with breakfast was an interesting touch). The only real issues with the room were that it felt quite small being up in the eaves, wouldn't have managed 2 nights in the small space. There was a seaview, beautiful, but had to stand and look through a small window to see the views. The shower head really needed a very good clean, it was black! Some attention needed in places but otherwise a pleasant stay.

The food was amazing. My husband had the seafood linguini - one of the best he has ever eaten and I settled for the sausage and mash. We loved the breakfast which plentiful with freshly cooked, hot food which was beautifully presented. Everywhere was immaculately clean and the staff were pleasant and attentive. The gardens are obviously looked after and there were some lovely blooms, even at this time of year. The room was disappointing - we up graded to a room with a sea view and an enormous bed. Money needs to be spent - the bedding was 'bobbly' from age, paint was peeling off much of the woodwork, the bathroom tiles were ridged in black, the carpet was stained. The furniture was wooden and was lovely. With so many five star aspects, it is a shame that the bedrooms are so much in need of renovation.

Welcoming, really loved that there was a fridge in hallway for fresh milk and bottle water. Did find dead flies or moths on the roll up blind and a tooth retainer on the floor. But had a lovely time, very cute and relaxing .

A beautiful, quiet old manor house with lovely gardens & places to sit outside. The food was very good indeed, dinner served in a well-appointed conservatory. The bed was very comfortable. The staff wonderful. Carpet in the bedroom stained, & an awful sliding door between bath & bedroom which was very noisy.

The Manor House is in a lovely location with good walks around. The food is good and the staff friendly, but the house itself is very run down and the rooms need a complete makeover a they are something akin to a 1960’s B and B. We had the impression that it was being run on a very tight budget.

We were celebrating our Ruby anniversary. The hotel was lovely and we were greeted warmly. The room was spot on and we opted for one with a sea view. The room was large with a very comfy bed. The bathroom had a very big shower which was nice. The towels were lovely and soft. The food was excellent. We had a meal in the conservatory in the evening. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. We would stay there again.

Will absolutely stay here again. Such a stunning building with beautiful views and Devine food. Tucked away along back coastal roads, it was the perfect place for a romantic weekend celebrating a birthday. The restaurant food was beyond expectations. Everything fresh and cooked on site, no complaints - not for the price either. Room was wonderfully clean with facilities. The only pitiful was the heating got a bit too hot and we struggled to turn it down but otherwise very cosy and comfortable. Tiniest downfall to the trip was the noise. With the buildings age, walls were very thin and could hear the conversations and movements (creaky floorboards & bathroom fans) in adjacent rooms. Otherwise, completely stunning & we plan to return next year. Thank you! 😊

With the buildings age, walls were very thin and could hear the conversations and movements (creaky floorboards & bathroom fans) in adjacent rooms. Lovely bedroom with large sash window and sea view. Large bed with very soft mattress. Great shower with loads of hot water. Bottles of mineral water by bed was a nice touch Short walk to Chesil Beach One suggestion for room would be to replace the instant coffee sachets with a cafeteria and maybe some flavoured teas.

Location is beautiful and the accomodation was full of character. Food was lovely, we had a selection of starters for dinner and breakfast in the morning (broccoli with breakfast was an interesting touch). The only real issues with the room were that it felt quite small being up in the eaves, wouldn't have managed 2 nights in the small space. There was a seaview, beautiful, but had to stand and look through a small window to see the views. The shower head really needed a very good clean, it was black! Some attention needed in places but otherwise a pleasant stay.

The food was amazing. My husband had the seafood linguini - one of the best he has ever eaten and I settled for the sausage and mash. We loved the breakfast which plentiful with freshly cooked, hot food which was beautifully presented. Everywhere was immaculately clean and the staff were pleasant and attentive. The gardens are obviously looked after and there were some lovely blooms, even at this time of year. The room was disappointing - we up graded to a room with a sea view and an enormous bed. Money needs to be spent - the bedding was 'bobbly' from age, paint was peeling off much of the woodwork, the bathroom tiles were ridged in black, the carpet was stained. The furniture was wooden and was lovely. With so many five star aspects, it is a shame that the bedrooms are so much in need of renovation.

Building itself is exquisite, felt special staying in such a place, check in was very easy and gent helped with automatically with my case - however, breakfast was chaotic, the two people serving and taking orders was dire, no communication between them and some of the orders were coming out incorrect, i waited for quite a while until i was served, the female server actually contradicted the guest seated next to me as to what she had actually ordered! Very special place let down by breakfast service. Great shame.

We appreciated the beautiful setting, the views of the ocean and pasture. The parking was ample and easy. Our only complaint is that there were the long waits at mealtimes and the general unease at breakfast. We weren’t the only ones who weren’t greeted and didn’t know what to do, or receive a menu. We arrived promptly at 8:30 but were not waited on for over 20 minutes and food was another 30 minutes to arrive.

Nice little place to stay in a great location that was quiet and only 5 minute walk to the beach. For me and my partner it was a good one night stay. They are also pet friendly which is a bonus as I find it hard to find dog friendly places and the staff are friendly and polite. Cons: I found the food to be quite expensive and the inner doors that lead you up to the rooms bang every time someone opens the door which can disturb others in their room. The food service could have been better. For example, the young lady asked us if we wanted any water for the table and she never came back. Me and my partner decided to have the roast dinner and it tasted great, the only thing was we were missing the stuffing. At breakfast the next morning we decided to have the full English breakfast and it was supposed to come with toast. I wasn’t fussed about the toast but my partner had to ask for it but it should have been served straight away with the rest of the breakfast. I was left a bit disappointed when I asked for a croissant and was told there wasn’t any left. It would be great from a customers point of view that the hotel made sure there was enough for at least one per person. Other than that me and my partner and the dog enjoyed our stay and I would go back again.

We booked without much research at the last minute for a one night stay. Welcomed on arrival by Jordan, who later served us at the bar, in the restaurant and at breakfast. He has just the right mix of great customer focus with informality and a sense of humour (Yorkshire tea is DEFINITELY not the best in the world!). The building is old, so is bound to have a few quirky elements, but our room had a very comfortable bed and a powerful shower and even a painted bathroom floor. The view from our room (and pretty much everywhere else) was great, across the fields to the sea. Had dinner in the conservatory and enjoyed it, especially the cod recommended by Jordan. Would definitely return, and hope to do so.

Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. Hotel dates back to the 16th Century and therfore has no lift so if infirm or have mobility issues beware, some steps are quite step. Room was clean, loads of storage and had wonderful sea views all round. Free tea ,coffee and water were a plus. Breakfast had a wonderful selection and the full English was fantastic. Service was quick, fuss free and friendly throughout our stay. Large free car park . Set in a small hamlet with no shops or facilities as such so don't expect Blackpool! . Peace and quiet the order of the day (and night). great as a base to explore the surrounding area, beaches and towns. A car is a must because of the distances and hills. Good road access to all of Dorset. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived we instantly appreciated our surroundings. The Manor House is tastefully decorated, clean and very welcoming. The staff were lovely and nothing too much trouble for them. Breakfast was excellent with a good amount of choices. Unfortunately we had only booked in for one night but made the most of the fabulous views and wallowed in the peace and quiet. Absolute heaven. We have made a promise to ourselves to return for a longer stay.

The room was spacious with a comfortable kingsize bed. The staff were friendly and helpful accomodating an early cooked breakfast as we needed an early checkout. Unfortunately our evening meal was very disappointing with the wrong starter being served twice and poor main courses. We were offered a discount which we accepted but it put a damper on our stay.

The only criticism we have is that the room we had (in the loft) felt like it was a room only to be let out if MUST. It was cute and clean. But needs a bit of maintenance. And as a tip, ask how tall your visitors are before booking them into room 21 Lol
