Nice and easy check-in with the young lady who showed me to my room. Decent food and beer options there and a speedy service. The rooms are qell maintained and quieter than you think it will be above a pub. Stayed a couple of times and will be likely to stay again. Also a bonus of allocated hotel guest parking. Useful when its busy with guests

We had a great stay at The Tawny Owl. Lovely clean room, comfy bed, decent facilities and a great price meant that itvwas fantastic value. We ate in the pub restaurant and found the food really good and the selection of beers was excellent.

Check in was easy. Shown to room. Everything provide and polite abd friendly staff. Great base for our visit to the Air Tatoo. Room was comfortable and the pub was busy and friendly and family orientated. Live mudic in Saturday night was an added bonus x

They had an event on with live music outside the room so was late before everyone left No breakfast before 9:30 am on a Monday not good Bathroom could do with a lick of paint and some new grout Staff were super friendly and helpful

Old Tired and lacking.... No soap in the room, stayed 2 nights and no room service so be prepared to make your own bed. Breakfast does not start until 9.am so if on an early start this is an issue. Often has live bands / music and so room can be noisy. Car park limited in space. As a Pub.... first class....good food, staff friendly and good ambience....

Great home base to visit the Cotswalds. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room above the really cool pub. Staff was excellent as well. Free parking too. Th e only issue was that the pub got loud on Friday night. It really didn’t bother us but I could see some early birds getting a bit annoyed. Otherwise great place and a great value

The staff are very friendly and obliging. The food was also very good. The room was quite nice with a good selection of tea, coffee etc. The bathroom is very tired and could do with a refresh. The sink had a crack in it. The price was very good so did not expect it to be perfect. Would stay again if we are in the area.

Lovely rooms, spacious clean modern and quiet. The bathroom could do with some TLC, the sink pipe work was making strange noises and shower was off the bath. Great food available in restaurant attached we highly recommended the restaurant for food. Great size portions, very well priced and delicious. Staff were lovely.

A very comfortable stay. Room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom could do with a bit of TLC, although the shower was good, with plenty of hot water. We stayed on a Saturday night, so there was a party with music in the pub downstairs but this didn’t overly disturb us. We both had a lovely nights sleep.

When we were shown to our room, initially I thought it was very well presented and looked like a lovely, cosy place to stay. However as we settled in I began noticing some cleanliness issues. There was toothpaste marks on the sink in the bathroom which had been left by previous guests and not cleaned properly. The chairs in the room were extremely grubby and dusty and covered in stains. We then went down for dinner at 7pm an hour after checking in, only to be told the kitchen had closed. The blind in the room was covered god knows how many dead bugs stuck to the blind. There were spiders, flies and other bugs rolled up in it. There was also mould on the bathroom ceiling and wall. I explained some of the issues when i checked out but i didnt feel like staff cared. Have also emailed feedback and not heard back from them. Very disappointing and wouldnt return.

Nice and clean with a comfortable bed. Really nice decor. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Only down side was an extremely slippery shower/bath but a mat was provided.

To start we only paid £55 so i wasnt expecting it to be 10/10, the bed was ok comfortable enough for a 2 day stay (pillows dreadful - take your own), the room itself was fine (2 chairs was a bonus) although dusty, my biggest bug bear was the noise right outside the window coming from a extractor fan/kitchen? But as i say for £55 it was OK and I'm pretty sure there were better rooms than the Courtyard that we were allocated (although others were available, which seemed strange.....)

Absolutely disgusting und dirty. Bed was made up but sheets were not changed from previous guest! Linen was covered with lots of male body hair as was the bath tub. Not even rinsed. The lowest of standards of decency, not to speak of any standard regarding hospitality. Don‘t understand the positive reviews, clearly no recommendation!

Terrinle room, above the kitchen. Absolutely boiling hot with no air conditioning. The constant smell of food and the awful drone of the extractor unit. The room I stayed in was called "The Courtyard" I might as well have slept in the courtyard, I would have had a better night sleep. Never again.

Had to approach bar for service. Very limited interaction - just escorted to room and provided key. No information provided. Bars of soap provided on bathroom sink, and not pump soap. Difficult to get soap off hands. Room comfortable enough.

Twin room en suite accommodation was clean and spacious, but even though an inn/pub, it is most definitely self service and absolutely no room service was provided. I even had to take dirty dishes back myself and when ask for more milk/coffee etc, was only offered a small jug of milk from behind the bar as apparently after 9pm everything is shut down apart from buying alcohol. However no information was given with regards to any of this on check in, and no information leaflet/pamphlet provided in room. Basically if you don’t sort it out for yourself before 9pm, you go without. Check in chaotic & staff also announced my room name/number in a busy public place, which imo if you are a lone female, this is a security risk, as accommodation is accessible to members of the public. Stair lift not available, as was blocked by linen/bedding bags. No privacy screening on windows, so had to keep curtains and blind in bathroom closed if you didn’t want ppl seeing you naked/dressing or undressing, from the car park/beer terrace. Shower head broken and screen leaked all over the floor. Fan was provided, but broken and dusty. I would rebook, as its location is extremely convenient.
Twin room en suite accommodation was clean and spacious, but even though an inn/pub, it is most definitely self service and absolutely no room service was provided. I even had to take dirty dishes back myself and when ask for more milk/coffee etc, was only offered a small jug of milk from behind the bar as apparently after 9pm everything is shut down apart from buying alcohol. However no information was given with regards to any of this on check in, and no information leaflet/pamphlet provided in room. Basically if you don’t sort it out for yourself before 9pm, you go without. Check in chaotic & staff also announced my room name/number in a busy public place, which imo if you are a lone female, this is a security risk, as accommodation is accessible to members of the public. Stair lift not available, as was blocked by linen/bedding bags. No privacy screening on windows, so had to keep curtains and blind in bathroom closed if you didn’t want ppl seeing you naked/dressing or undressing, from the car park/beer terrace. Excellent experience!! Mel was fantastic, and got us situated immediately! She went above and beyond to ensure our fellow guests were also taken care of! Kudos to the staff for the hospitality shown during our entire 2 day trip!

Good access to the Local enjoyable scenery of the Country Park. Sited in a modern residential area but you have to watch out for enthusiastic joggers. Bus No.16 provides a service from the Bus Station to Tawny Owl six days a week. Handy for visiting the Swindon & Cricklade heritage Railway. There are no local shops as such, nearest I could find was the Orbital Park quite a long stretch or again 16 Bus

We stayed at the Tawny Owl for 3 nights for a family break and a base to travel the Cotswolds. The accommodation was great and the staff were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The morning full english was huge and a great way to set you up for the days travels. From the bar staff to the chamber maids, all were so very welcoming. A truely enjoyable stay. Thank you all.

Check in was easy. Shown to room. Everything provide and polite abd friendly staff. Great base for our visit to the Air Tatoo. Room was comfortable and the pub was busy and friendly and family orientated. Live mudic in Saturday night was an added bonus x

Great home base to visit the Cotswalds. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room above the really cool pub. Staff was excellent as well. Free parking too. Th e only issue was that the pub got loud on Friday night. It really didn’t bother us but I could see some early birds getting a bit annoyed. Otherwise great place and a great value

Liked the property as clean and had a lovely bath. The food was good even if they forgot to put sausages on my breakfast. Very easily sorted one i spotted them missing. Great staff and a nice atmosphere. Busy but not too crowded

We had a great stay at The Tawny Owl. Lovely clean room, comfy bed, decent facilities and a great price meant that itvwas fantastic value. We ate in the pub restaurant and found the food really good and the selection of beers was excellent.

They had an event on with live music outside the room so was late before everyone left No breakfast before 9:30 am on a Monday not good Bathroom could do with a lick of paint and some new grout Staff were super friendly and helpful

Old Tired and lacking.... No soap in the room, stayed 2 nights and no room service so be prepared to make your own bed. Breakfast does not start until 9.am so if on an early start this is an issue. Often has live bands / music and so room can be noisy. Car park limited in space. As a Pub.... first class....good food, staff friendly and good ambience....

Stayed here to go to a wedding reception nearby. Everything we needed was available. Room clean and tidy and the bed was amazing, so comfortable! Breakfast available from 0930 in pub below, good prices and tasty. Well worth the money.

Camera spaziosa, carina, dotata di diversi comfort (asse, ferro da stiro, asciugacapelli, bollitore, ecc) e con bagno grande. Posto auto all’esterno gratuito e pub (con cibo ottimo) sotto le camere ma che non disturba assolutamente la quiete. Non abbiamo consumato la colazione. Consigliato!

We had 2 rooms booked. 1st room was great, large, very comfortable bed, towels were clean and fresh. Room on the most part was clean, The bathroom was a little tired looking, basin was cracked, bath panel could have done with a coat of paint. Window was very grubby, not helped by the pigeons on the roof. Despite it being a very hot day and evening we closed the windows due to the road noise. There was a small fan in the room, but it was so noisy we had to turn it off. 2nd room was next to kitchen extractor. Very noisy and filled the room with the smell of cooking. There was no way the window could be left open. It was so hot we had to prop the door open. The extractor was turned off about 20:30, however it was turned on again quite early the next morning for breakfast. We were warned that the football would be on so if we needed food to book a table early The pub was very busy, we sat in the garden, service and the staff were great. Although we only snacked on things, the food was good. My husband had a cheese ploughman’s, the portion size and quantity was amazing. Overall it suited us for the one night we were there. Easy to park, food on site, good garden. Just needs a bit of TLC here and there.
