This motel is more than 70 years old. The owners have made significant upgrades to a very old motel. Room looks nice upon entry and it was impeccably clean. The bed was possibly the best i have encountered in years. What you cant change are 2 foot by 2 foot showers, and a lack of heating controls during the cold months. It's an old central baseboard heating system for the whole operation. Staff was helpful and pleasant. This motel is a good budget option, but its still very old.

It was close to where we needed to be.bad because mattress and mattress cover was warm and dirty smelt like man sweat. Paper off walls skirting had body fluids on it . Bath room was clean. It could use some maintenance and deep cleaning big time. Ya get what ya pay for. Won’t stay again.

It was after midnight before we checked in. The night clerk had been asleep and didn’t say much. I had reserved a queen bed but was told he had none left so received 2 double beds. Property was older and appeared to have upgrades to it. The bathroom had no toilet paper, trash in the bathroom trashcan, hair on the floor and in shower. Luckily the beds appeared clean, although stains on the sheets. Disappointed since reviews had said it was more than what we got.

There wasn't anything good about my stay! The staff was very rude and hateful. I asked for extra towels and extra pillows the staff member stated really you are that dirty that you need extra towels. I will not be going back there. There also was bugs all over floor dead and stuff spilled on counters.

Flooring can be a tripping hazard as they were not installed correctly. Then had to run the shower for 5 minutes to see if hot water would run through. Tables have roach traps on them. Sheet on one of the beds had a red stain that did not appear to be old. Tried to drop keys off the next morning and the door was locked.

No Fridge. Air conditioner was not on when I got there--so room was 81 when I got there. It was still 77 when I went to bed so sleeping was hard--because it's on the 1st floor I didn't feel comfortable about opening window.

Desk clerk who checked me in was great. I would feel very comfortable parking my 1955 Studebaker in front of this property because that is about when it was built. They are doing their best, but it is outdated. But there again the price was right. take your pick.

The property is extremely run down. They heat using space heaters and the first night we were stayed there was no heater in the room, it was 50 degrees and when my husband got back from hunting the next morning wet and cold still no heat. There is rarely anyone at the office either. He was finally able to track down a housekeeper to get heat.

This motel is coming around. They are slowly renovating and the new manager is WAY better than the last manager and seems to be working hard to make improvements. He was accommodating and helpful whenever we needed anything. The place still needs work but for our need for just a reasonable place to sleep for two nights, all works well. We also like the ability to have rooms together at one end for our twice annual event.

I could not check in because the clerk never showed up to check us in. 2 hours at least with two trips to the site and 3 phone calls. I could not get anyone to talk to or check us in. I left a message that we were cancelling and we went to another motel.

The management team, husband and wife, need training. It took us an hour to check in and we even called Choice. The male manager was combative when we finally found him. I had to diffuse the situation between my husband and the manager.

My husband and I always stay here when we come to town to visit family The owners are nice and take better care of it than the previous owners it was under another name then and I refused to to stay there The new owners definitely make it a better place so quiet and relaxing We stay a week at a time

They really should attach the drain cover to the shower drain. Somebody could get seriously injured. Being a tile guy, looking around really had me laughing at the workmanship. The manager was a pretty cool guy, the room was fine, air conditioner worked great. Never went to the continental breakfast, i did see some little Debbie items

Staff- checked us in on Thursday. Very pleasant and did what he could to get us a room with two double beds. That is what I booked online at hotels.com. He had to call another guest and get it all worked out. He was great. The kid that worked the weekend. Our keys stopped working for our rooms, and we had to find him. He was either hanging out in the room next to the checkin lobby or walking around with his dogs. We know marijuana is legal in Illinois, but we sure smelled a lot of it. It got old. Parking lot- great for our truck and trailers. Everything felt safe. We didn’t worry about our belongings or safety. Lots of working men and their trucks during the week. Rooms- very dated. Poor remodeling thru the years. Smelled of old cigarettes/mold/closed up. Our air conditioning wasn’t on until we walked in and turned it on. Pretty stuffy for a hot August day. The room we had was two double beds. Both mattresses were bagged up and zipped in a mattress cover. When I inspected the box spring and bed skirt area. There were dead insects/human hair/dust/dirt. Under the bed, the same and also old food. floors of the rooms dirty/gritty and you couldn’t take your shoes or socks off at all. showers were horrible, cracked tile and the shower head was 4 1/2 feet from the floor. Luke warm water. Toilet wasn’t clean. Linens seemed clean. No window covering in bathroom. Only one light in room. Outlet was overloaded. I would not recommend staying.
