Residence Inn by Marriott Fargo

We loved the layout with 2 bedroom suite - although we wished there was one room with 2 queens and 1 with a king - just easier with our family. But we just noticed a lot of deferred maintenance - scuffed walls, poor carpet... the pool was hot and humid and not comfortable for adults to hang out.

Staff was excellent, breakfast very good. Pool/hot tub felt like it needed to be remodeled, a bit rough and highly chlorinated. Rooms were overall nice, but could use some updates. Happy with the choice for the price and what we wanted for a hotel room this weekend

We chose this property for the fact tgat it had a pool and hot tub. Both were cold last Friday night. The room was also not the cleanest Residence I have seen.

I was surprised that this room had a separate double bed with his own bathtub and washroom! And had 3 tv’s one in each room and living room. So clean. Loved that the hot tub and pool area closes at 11 pm.

We liked the large 2 bedroom suites. Was great for 5 of us. The hot tub was not working the water wasn't hot so that was disappointing. The breakfast was okay. Needs bacon!

We had a great stay at this hotel! It was clean and well kept, the staff were professional and the room was nice and spacious and included a kitchen area. The pool area was a nice size as well. I would stay here again!

Very nice hotel. We had a bulb blow and maintenance was there quickly to get it fixed. Pool and hot tub could use a good cleaning. Other than that everything was great.

Room was not vacuumed at check in and a few minor issues but overall a great stay. Spa was broken and pool area tired looking in need of an update. Staff was very nice would stay again

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Pet friendly and grassy area with doggie waste bags and can. Beautiful common area decor. Elevator to upper floors. Fantastic staff. Rooms are INCREDIBLE. Full kitchen with full sized fridge, sink, dishwasher and basic supplies. Hook for dog leashes even. Living room has a small dining table and chairs, a comfy sectional pull out couch, a nice smart tv and an electric user friendly beautiful fireplace. The bedroom is separated by a door and has a huge king bed, comfy with lots of pillows and another smart tv. The bathroom has installed large pumps of great smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The shower is hot with great water pressure. The pool and hot tub are hot and FANTASTIC! The breakfast buffet is hands down the best I've ever had. Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream., sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa, hot oatmeal with every addition you can think of to add, brown sugar, granola, etc, sausage, ham and bacon, toast, muffins, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, English muffins, the list goes on. So many small and thoughtful touches to everything this hotel offers. I wish there was one in every town. Seriously. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Pool was very dirty. Room smelled linens very worn chairs in the dining area were very very worn out the finish in the chairs was almost completely worn off

Got checked into our room and when we went in the room was dirty. Beds weren’t made. Toilet was plugged. Smelled like somebody was just eating in there. Seemed like a nice place. Just extremely gross to walk into something like that.

Check in was easy, staff was great. It was unusually crowded but the staff seemed to handle it with smiles and ease. Upon entering the room, I was shocked to find the room was super disgusting. We had been told earlier that we got the last room so we knew that would be our room no matter what. In terms of what was gross: Lots of other people’s hair everywhere (floors, tables, the bed and furniture and the desk and table), food crumbs on the floor and on chairs, piles of dirt in corners, the cups all stuck to the cabinet, the fridge was nasty with old food in all the cracks and sides of fridge, there was a lot of urine from a previous guest on one toilet that pooled at the bottom of the toilet, there were stains (we hope stains) on the pillow cases. The floors in the hallways were in pretty bad condition in terms of fibers being torn but did seem clean on our floor. I found the staff to be kind but on the way out I dropped off my key and the employee asked me how my stay went, I paused because I didn’t want to be unkind but it was the second dirtiest place I’d ever stayed so didn’t want to say it was great. What I said with a disappointed tone and disgusted face, was, “It was….ummm…okay.” The employee said, “great!” And that was that. My husband said, clearly a poor okay is good enough for them.

By far one of my absolute favorite properties to stay at. It is clean, comfortable and exactly what you need in a hotel.

I choose hotels for our family based primarily on cleanliness ratings. We have young children who crawl around on the floor and have to sit in the bathtub, so hygiene is important to me. This hotel had good ratings, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why. There was food and trash on the floor in our room, hair all over the bathrooms, and mold all around the bathtub. I would never stay here again.

After we had gotten unpacked and settled in, I went into the restroom area, and there was hair everywhere. We asked them to send housekeeping down to clean it and they didn’t have anybody in the evening so we got a vacuum and cleaned it ourselves. There was also urine on the part of the toilet. They offered to move us, but we didn’t want to repack all of our stuff.

Lovely hotel, friendly well groomed staff. The hotel was clean, inviting and offered a surprisingly very nice breakfast buffet.

For the price we paid we should not have mold and rust stains in the shower/tub preventing us from using the tub. Property has definitely gone down hill. Garbage around the entrance and parking lot. So many options especially at this higher price point.

The hotel room was not fully cleaned. We had a family suite and there were children’s balls under the bed, dishes in the dishwasher, hair on the towels, used lotion bottle, and qtips in the trash can in the bathroom. For the price of the suite to hold our family I expect everything to be cleaned properly.

The room was nice and clean. Would have liked an extra toilet paper in our bathroom because our toilet roll was low on arrival. The hallway carpets need replacing as well the pool and hot tub could use an update. Our neighbors above were very noisy causing us to loose some sleep. I realize that this is not the hotels fault but beware you will hear your neighbors. The hotel staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. I was happy to find a hotel that had actual bedrooms and kitchen.

I like their room best, beautiful, neat and spacious, and there is a separate kitchen. I like to cook by myself. The master bedroom and living room are separated.

I would stay here again. We had a suite and it was a nice layout. The furnishings were a little worn and the bathtub had a bit of rust but the overall stay was nice.

The room was clean, some spots are dated. The breakfast was really good (cereal, yogurt, eggs, ham, warm buns and gravy, fruits, etc.). Location is very nice, safe, clean and quiet, and at the same time close to everything. When we are in Fargo, we will stay there again.

We loved almost everything about our stay.♥️ The bedding for the sofa bed was not in the room so we had to get it from the front desk . Also - the sofa bed was very uncomfortable - we suggest either new ones or at least a foam topper be available.

The hotel had good amenities but it seemed in need of some refreshing. Our tub had rust stains in it and the couch was stained. Breakfast had a nice array of options which I enjoyed because I eat Med and it's hard to find a hotel breakfast that accommodates that.

The Marriott Residence Inn, Fargo ND is a newer hotel located on a quiet side street near I-94 and 45th street ( a major cross-town thoroughfare). The staff are very professional, courteous and helpful. They are knowledgeable about Fargo. The suite was spacious and clean -- there were adequate amenities provided. The breakfast menu included a variety of hot and cold food. We noticed that the breakfast menu was a major step above the usual (cheaper) offerings by lesser-rated hotels. The Residence Inn provided free-range eggs, real cream, multi-grain breads, fresh fruit plus hot and cold cereals and hot entrees. When the air conditioning wasn't working, the staff quickly resolved the issue. I highly recommend this hotel. As an added bonus, it is located close to all the major attractions in Fargo. I look forward to my next visit to the city of Fargo -- at the Residence Inn.

Great property but it shows its age. Lots of wear on carpet and furniture. Needs to have some money invested in the property.

We were there for State Trap Shooting and they were very accommodating to our team. They let us gather and order pizza for everyone in the dining area. Very nice and clean and friendly staff. This was our 2nd year staying there.

Upon arrival I was given a lesser room than what was booked. I was told the hotel was full. I was flexible and understanding, however asked that I be refunded for the difference in price between different room categories. They would not do that. I was given points instead. Why should I pay full price for a double suite that I didn’t stay in??

Disappointed, They asked if we would like our room cleaned every other day, which I agreed to, but they never did. I expect better from Marriott.

i stayed at this hotel a month ago and they double charged my card without telling me and never responded to my inquiry when asked about it.

Did precheck prior to arrival. Greeted by front desk staff in a warm and friendly manner. Best check in ever!!

My stay was absolutely wonderful besides the check in with the staff, who was a team lead-named Foysal. I asked questions about what area of the building my room was in so I could get right there, he couldn’t answer; I asked to see a map of the hotel so I could get my answers, and he gave me a map of Fargo ND. Since he couldn’t answer my questions I began walking around to locate which way would be the room number and he began to question what I was doing. On my final day, my key card was not working, I had to go down to the front desk 4 times myself, to get a key card that would work so I could pick up and not one of them worked. The fifth time I sent my daughter down, because he threatened to call the police on me-when I was just asking to get a new key card and ban me from that property-ALL BECAUSE I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HIS MANAGER the 3rd time I went down

Location is good. The hotel itself is in fairly good condition. A few thoughts. We had a double suite with living area in the center. The concept is great, but the execution not as much. The bathroom was not clean in our room. Outside temperatures when we were there were frigid and the automatic doors stopped working so guests had to open and close them by hand. The staff were unhelpful, there was no solution on their end, and their contribution was to place a note on the door informing guests that the doors weren't working, that we needed to open them by hand and finished with CLOSE THE DOORS. As they were frozen and covered in frost, without gloves it was difficult and painful to try to slide a stuck door with no handle, open and closed. I found it annoying, but manageable. However, at different times when we were coming and going, guests were leaving and arriving with luggage, small children, handicap issues, elderly, etc. all expected to deal with the circumstance with no assistance from the hotel staff. And it was below freezing weather they were standing in trying to open and close doors with all the babies, luggage, etc. We helped when we went through the doors, but to say the least, we were unimpressed. They do have dishes, etc.in the kitchen area, and it gives the tone of Airbnb in a hotel format, but for the amenities and stay, I found it far overpriced. It felt like an AmericInn with a kitchen area concept,

The people who operate this Residence Inn are truly very nice people. I'm not sure how well they listen. On Wednesday when we arrived, we were fairly specific that we didn't need the room serviced until Friday with the exception of fresh towels and wash cloths. Seems simple enough. Thursday, no new towels and wash cloths. Had to pursue management to get some. On Friday, despite having talked to three people total to previously confirm, no one showed up to service the room. Had to go to management AGAIN to work it out and then barely got it done in the late afternoon. We stay in Residence Inns because we need to do our own cooking whenever possible (dietary restrictions) so when the kitchen wasn't stocked with the materials we've become used to at Residence Inns, it required yet another conversation with management to get what they knew we should have and I needed to follow a manger around to find the things. We were disappointed because usually Residence Inns can be counted on and this one simply fell short. Probably won't return.

Property was slightly dated but still nice. Room was decently clean. Breakfast was slightly better than your typical hotel breakfast which was great. Service was lacking. Pull out sofa bed, however there was no bedding provided for it. Also only two towels provided. Had to wait a bit at the front desk for someone to come. When requesting the items it took him a while to come back but even then, he wasn’t able to provide us with all the bedding we needed. Said he will look for more and bring it by the room. Never came by. There were also no towels at the pool area. Overall service was lacking a little bit, everything else was good.

The room was nice and big, however not spotless. Location wise its great, lots of shopping and dining options just a short drive away.

Staff was friendly at checkin, breakfast and checkout. The room had everything we needed for our family. Walking distance to the Red River Zoo.

Quick overnight stay for Christmas with family. Front desk staff was polite, professional and speedy. Room was clean, warm breakfast with a variety of options available, and the hotel quiet. We will be back!

Very nice hotel, got the fireplace room, with kitchenette, nice full fridge which we thoroughly enjoyed, very nice shower. Very good breakfast, eggs, sausage patties, bacon, hot coffee, waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereals, juices, didn’t use pool
