Wow. Just wow. Incredible staff. Delicious food. Great location. Wonderful grounds. Amazing facilities. The rooftop hot tub at night was amazing. Highly recommend. And I will be back.

Beau séjour, bel accueil, beau jardin, spa sur le toit avec vue sur le clocher de l'hotel. Vélo, pédalo, canot, kayak et planche à pagaie à disposition sur la rivière. Nous avons bien profité de l'environnement. Agréable séjour.

Bel établissement, belle chambre par contre manque un peu de moderne. Pas de prise USB pour brancher les appareils, télévision de base, pas de possibilité de Netflix ou autre plateforme. Il faudrait une mise à jour 2024. La piscine est minuscule, c'est plus un grand bain avec de l'eau à la taille.

Great hotel. Welll kept, nice rooms, Beautiful grounds, spa, pool, hot tubs (especially on the roof) free biking, canoeing/kayak/etc. Only negatives were the extremely loud air conditioning in the room and the restaurant menu which lacked many vegetarian choices (for us) and quite pricy. Not much choice of restaurants in the area… Otherwise highly recommended hotel.

Luxury accommodations at bargain US prices Hotel is a former monastery and sits amidst miles of corn and potato fields on the bank of a large river. Rooms are large with jetted tubs and face a peaceful garden. Great spa and pool areas. Very good attached restaurant. Staff is young and could use some prepping such as when they tell a guest the restaurant is closed for dinner Sunday night they could volunteer to help the guest get dinner reservations somewhere else.

Nice looking hotel from the outside and a lovely setting. However inside it is a bit dated and could do with some maintenance to bring it back to grandeur. Corridors felt dark and gloomy and it was quite a maze to find reception and room. Pool is small and again a little tired. On arrival tasked if we wanted dinner which we replied yes - then told the restaurant was shut. Would have been good to be told in pre communication as the hotel is not walking distance to anything else. Garden room was nice with doors leading outside. Patio was unswept. The air con was noisy like an aircraft taking off, had to turn it off for any chance of sleep. Was then v hot. The fridge was just as noisy and had to be turned off too. Was asked to give a precise time if we wanted breakfast so didn’t bother.

Last year when we stayed at Hotel Montfort we gave a higher rating. We had a room in the newer area. This time we had a room in the old part of the hotel. The room was okay at best. Clean and comfortable beds. But the carpet was old and stained. The bathroom was updated but so small that when you sat on the toilet the toilet tissue was knocked of the holder. The shower was in a small deep bathtub. The temperature controls did not work and the room was quite hot. Lovely common areas. I recommend staying here if you can get a room in the newer section.

Très bel emplacement le personnel Est super. Cependant, le toit terrasse semble négligé au niveau de la propreté et en prenant un marches les fenêtres côté piscine sont très salles et comporte des toiles d araignées. Le reste est impeccable. Nous avons reçu une chambre différente à la description de expédia.ca … il semble y avoir une grande différence entre la chambre deluxe à 344 pi2 de superficie pouvant héberger 3 personnes décrite sur Expedia et la oasis obtenu sur place !!! Ce fut une déception. Avoir su pour le peu de différence de prix j aurais réservé sur le site de l hôtel. C est ce que je crois que nous allons faire dorénavant, car ce n est pas la première fois que ça nous arrive avec Expedia

This property is trying to be something it is not. An example: a decent (but small) pool and hot tub area but you have to walk through a maze of back-of-house (laundry, janitorial ) hallways to get to it. There was a nice rooftop hot tub and seating but the seating was very cheap and the hot tub was dirty, and there was no staff anywhere (no music or lighting for example). The one window in the room was acually a sliding patio door with parking 6ft away from it so the drapes needed to be pulled at all times for privacy, making the room dark and depressing. And the room wasn't clean. There's a bar in the lobby, but again, no one there, no music or staff, just very empty table and chairs. The grounds are nice, and there is a separate spa building which I didn't go into, but overall, just very underwhelming

Beautiful property- we thought the place was beautiful pulling in. We had to be moved because there wasn’t working AC in our room and the room we were moved to was equally bad (and much smaller).

The one dislike was the view from the only window on the ground floor: looking over into what appeared to be a storage facility. I suppose this is okay for a one-night stay, but a bit depressing. The other problem is that the hotel provides only coffee in the rooms: why not tea for tea drinkers who rarely drink coffee?

Très bien dans l'ensemble! Belle grande chambre de luxe. Des passerelles pour se promener dans l'hôtel, pas besoin de sortir dehors. Bons buffets pour déjeuner. Seul point négatif, les matelas un peu trop durs et les ventilateurs de salle de bains qui font un bruit épouvantable.

Bel hotel, belles installations, beau lieu. Ce qui m'a empeché de mettre un 5 et même me fait réfléchir si je retournerais est la dureté des lits. Je crois que je n'ai jamais eu à dormir dans un lit aussi dur. Résultat j'ai au final peu do.

Bel hôtel et endroit superbe ! Par contre bémol au niveau du personnel qui ne semble pas intéressé ni motivé ! Les réponses à nos questions sont brèves et parfois un peu bête. Je comprends le manque de personnel chronique mais au prix qu’on paie un sourire serait apprécié

One night on short vacation through Quebec along St Lawrence River. GREAT place. Excellent service from front desk to restaurant. We don’t speak French and staff in both areas were VERY accommodating. Would DEFINITELY recommend ❤️

La chambre n’était pas prête à l’heure convenue, mais on nous a offert une consommation au café pour patienter de même que les déjeuners pour le lendemain matin. Le jeune homme à la réception était très gentil.

Disappointing for price. Room was poor. Had to move as tv didn’t work. No assistance moving with luggage. Second room air con was so loud to be unusable. Restaurant was understaffed and food took 2 hours. Ordered 3 different beers off menu, none were available. Food when arrived was cold. Just not a good experience for price.

Excellent service le personnel est extrêmement sympathique et professionnel, la chambre parfaite propre et spacieuse. Foyer et bain thérapeutique pour une détente assurée, je n’ai pas eu le plaisir de profiter des installations spa du au mauvais temps mais ce fut tout de même un séjour agréable

My favorite little gem on our travels between Nova Scotia and Ontario. Excellent for a night on any cross country road trip. Get here early enough to take advantage of the spa pools/rough top hot tub etc. Garden view room recommended. So peaceful. Onsight spa is great. Perfect for a night for rest.

Beautiful property 😍 we had a lovely one night stop off here on the way from Montreal to Quebec City. The hotel was great, staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was brilliant! Would definitely recommend!

Everything was perfect but there’s absolutely no nightlife in the area close by or restaurants that are open late (dates/hangouts/late food) so you have to drive out. I suggest a little research ;)

Luxury accommodations at bargain US prices Hotel is a former monastery and sits amidst miles of corn and potato fields on the bank of a large river. Rooms are large with jetted tubs and face a peaceful garden. Great spa and pool areas. Very good attached restaurant. Staff is young and could use some prepping such as when they tell a guest the restaurant is closed for dinner Sunday night they could volunteer to help the guest get dinner reservations somewhere else.

Superbe acceuil, l'hôtel est majestueux dans un lieu remplie d'histoires. Le spa sur le toît très agréable. On peut y mettre une bûche au feu en soirée. Le personnel est très courtois et les tarifs sont raisonnables. À distance de marche du centre-ville et situé sur la rue Saint-Jean-baptiste qui longe la rivière Nicolet bordée de berges aménagées.

Nice and clean room. Comfortable bed. Our room overlooked the parking lot only because we booked rather last minute and the garden view rooms were not available. We highly recommend you choose a garden view as the garden is beautiful. The pool area is very lovely and relaxing. More for adults than children. Quite a romantic setting. The garden has a large fire pit to enjoy in the evening. The downing the restaurant was very good. The one exception that was poor was rectified by the staff.

Nice place and accommodations but was refused a table for dinner because there was an event going on. This was very disappointing. I came in a little late and the last thing I wanted to do was to start looking around in a town I know very little about with not very many restaurants to choose from. If I am paying well over $200.00 for a room, I expect to have a dinner table available for me at dinner time. This alone was a very major annoyance.

Malheureusement le service au restaurant a été pitoyable. Attente de près d’une heure pour une soupe après quoi il a fallu encore attendre plus d’une demi-heure pour l’assiette principale, une entrée de tartare au saumon en ce qui me concerne. Air climatisé défectueux dans la chambre et tapis sale. Prix élevé pour la qualité du séjour malgré la beauté du site. Dommage!

Wow. Just wow. Incredible staff. Delicious food. Great location. Wonderful grounds. Amazing facilities. The rooftop hot tub at night was amazing. Highly recommend. And I will be back.

Welll kept, nice rooms, Beautiful grounds, spa, pool, hot tubs (especially on the roof) free biking, canoeing/kayak/etc. Only negatives were the extremely loud air conditioning in the room and the restaurant menu which lacked many vegetarian choices (for us) and quite pricy. Not much choice of restaurants in the area… Otherwise highly recommended hotel.

Loved the beautiful architecture and artwork in the room. Staff members were very professional and friendly. Construction around the outside was messy and dining room was closed.

Stayed a night here and thought the experience was neat, however; I was very disappointed about a couple of things. We tried renting bikes, and they were all either rusty, and none of them had air in the tires, and no one could help us. Then we tried going to the outdoor pools just to find out that was actually part of the spa experience besides de hotel and we had to pay $60 per person or $30 after 5 or 6pm. I dont recall Hotels.com letting us know that was not part of our stay. The hot tub on the roof was always full, so we only got to enjoy a small hot tub inside the building as the other small pool was really small and usually for kids..

Hotel Montfort is one of the best places in the region for families who want to explore and enjoy the Mauricie area. Its corridors and interconnected passageways make it very convenient to move from one part of the hotel to another without having to go outside, which is especially appreciated when traveling with family. The only downside is that the hotel could do a better job of informing guests about events taking place at the Convention Centre when they make a reservation. On Saturday, there was a wedding being held there, and it became a little difficult to find a parking spot. Other than that, the place is wonderful, and we had a great experience!
