Glenview Cottages

The only negative thing I can say is that it didnt have a firepit. This was a "communal" firepit. Otherwise everything else is perfect.

Easy to find - right on highway. Pretty quiet. Cottage was certainly adequate. Comfortable bed. Clean. Nice pool, sauna did not use, hot tub did not use. Both looked clean. Wish I had taken picture of the two dead rats outside the pool. That area needed cleaning up. Quite close to kids' play area.

Great stay, the room and grounds were clean. The hot tub was out of commission but that's my only complaint. Would stay there again for sure.

A lovely place to stay. There is a gorgeous pond/small lake in the back. The cabins are comfortable. There is a nice pool well maintained. Laundry room. Wifi can be a bit sketchy at busy hours. They had controlled fireworks on Canada Day which was great. The cabins are close enough to Sault Ste Marie to easily stock up provisions. The owners are super nice.

This location provided above and beyond what we expected. Excelently stocked cottage, sauna, hottub and outdoor pool was all on could expect and more. Well done Glenview. We will be back and we will tell anybody going to The Sault to look you guys up

Hot tub room inside was decent. Pool was freezing so we skipped it. Cottages were decent but could use some upkeep. The threshold on the main entrance door was rotted out underneath and quite loose when stepping on it. Should be repaired! Internet was good. Staff friendly. Overall needs some better upkeep in my opinion.

The property has no store or restaurant and is too far to walk to any. The hot tub and sauna doors were locked during the day. There were no sheets for the pullout couch. Staff were friendly and helpful and the cabin was nice and quite clean.

Staff are awesome, hot tub is nice, cannot swim in the pond and the park is actually over where the RVs are. Pool table is in the office, haven't used it yet but look forward to it. Cabins are close together but hasn't been an issue. We are staying another night! :) thanks!

5 stars for: -so family friendly; quiet, safe and even has a park on site! -so accommodating, changes were easily made to my booking when needed by very friendly staff -lovely and clean little cabin with every amenity needed -very easy access to 17 highway -many bonuses, including eco friendly hygiene products, a walking trail and even a sauna!

Nice, but dated little cottage. Appliances have been updated. It served our purpose for a couple day stay. They advertise a pool, sauna, and hot tub. Pool was not heated so not usable for us when we were there. The sauna was locked. I’m sure they would have unlocked if asked. My husband was hobbling on a bad leg and even the extra steps to the office were a bit much. We would have enjoyed these amenities if they were more easily accessible. There were some hiking trails which looked nice.

Completely dirty. Mouse feces. Moulding shower curtain. Filthy. Wish I could submit photos.

Glenview cottages is our go-to stay when visiting Sault Ste Marie every year. We love the property and the cottages. Staff is super friendly. We always rent a pet friendly cottage so that we can bring our small furry companion. This year, however, we noticed that the windows, doors and walls were not cleaned. There was dog slobber on the windows and dirt on the doors and walls from the previous guests which we ended up cleaning. We would have rated a 5 if it weren’t for that. Everything else was perfect!

Knowing it was a cabin and not hotel room, it was filthy, the floor made my feet black, the bathroom and kitchen were very dirty. It smelled bad. There was garbage all around the property. Beds were not comfortable, I was afraid to use the pillow. The roof was sagging so bad it was clear there was a leak that was drilled from the roof to relief the pressure; however leaving the roof sagging badly in many spots. Overall would not stay again.

We stayed in a pet friendly cottage with our dog. The sofa and chair were stained as was the comforter on the bed. The shower curtain was not clean so I purchased a shower curtain at the dollar store for our use while we stayed there. The sheets and towels were in good condition and clean. The cottage living room and kitchen area was spacious. The bedrooms were snug. The full size refrigerator and freezer were nice and the air conditioner worked well. It was nice to have space instead of being in a small hotel room for a couple of nights. We didn't use the pool or other amenities. Overall, it was adequate.

Overall our cabin was ok. Some outlets didn’t work, and our shower was plugged. The shower had two shower heads, but only one worked, I thought at was a bit odd. Had a huge jacuzzi tub, but didn’t use it. It was a cozy cottage, with nice grounds. We didn’t visit the pool or hot tub, but they were open when we visited. The place could really use a deep clean, lots of dust in the vents and the grout in the shower and the flooring was dirty. We used sandals in the shower because it didn’t look clean. The place was quiet which was a nice retreat for us.

The reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 because our cottage was old and tired and minimalistic. However it was perfectly clean, a good mattress for a good nights sleep & up to date appliances. Management was friendly and accommodating.

I love staying here. The cabins are well laid out and spacious, love the pond and trails on the property. Excellent outdoorsy feel with all amenities close by. Laundry on site as well as pool, spa, etc. BBQ’s on site, outdoor games. Love the duvets! I do wish the overall cleanliness was better.

Currently waiting for my refund to be processed as the room was not properly cleaned. There was dirt in the bed and stains on comforter.

Cabin older but clean.

3 beds and sofa were so hard and uncomfortable we could not get a good nights rest for a planned train excursion the next day. Hard to enjoy when dead tired. Cottage was very clean, basic, well lived in. We don’t need much more than that for an overnight. Is in a lovely, quiet setting. Hosts were very polite and pleasant. If mattresses were comfortable we would rent there again. If you need hard bed support this would do. Recommend new mattresses or some quality foam toppers.

Et fint lille sted. Vi overnattede en enkelt nat, og oplevede et flinkt og hjælpsomt personale. Hyttens inventar er lidt gammelt, men den har hvad man skal bruge. Man kan høre vejen, men ikke inde i hytten, og om natten bliver der meget stille. Hvis det var mit sted ville jeg fjerne gulvtæpperne, og enten erstatte dem, med synligt trægulv eller nyere gulvtæpper. Det ville gøre meget for helhedsindtrykket

Liked the kitchen area and it was cozy but found the heater loud. At least with the bedroom door closed it was fine at night.

The unit was clean, and had a pleasant scent. Enough toiletries were provided. The main door was difficult to open, and the key got stuck. Both other doors were too large to close. The water heater in this unit was new and efficient. There was no kettle. We paid for a single queen bed, but received a room with a twin and a single.The free wifi was exceptionally slow, to the point it was unusable. Overall, when compared to other units in a similar price range, this cabin is worth the cost.

The cottage was quiet and comfortable. It had a convenient location for the Agawa Canyon Train Tour.

The room was clean and hygenic. It was located at the back of the camp away from the highway, so it was quiet and peaceful. However, there were many problems with the room. All of the doors were swollen, and none of them were able to close, including the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom heater didnt work at all. The main heater was putting out warm air, but not nearly enough to warm the room. I took a 10 minute shower, and the water heater started loudly beeping and flashing an error code. A quick google search showed that the code means there is a problem with the gas intake valve. My wife was not comfortable taking a shower after that. However, when compared to other accommodations in a similar price range, it would be worth the cost assuming you get a well maintained cabin. The cabin I got this time was not up to standard. I stayed here again in a different cabin, and it was much better.

Stayed 8 nights at Glenview Cottages in early November. There were a lot more guest this time around vs the last time I was there. Only a 10 minute drive to get into SSM for me. Liked the kitchen and the ability to go for a walk around the property. Bed was comfortable and the road noise was minimal at night.Would stay again.

We were very late driving from far away and they called us to see if we were coming. Great communication. Our check-in was a couple of minutes and our cabin was toasty warm and clean. Plenty of room to park our vehicle and trailer also. Perfect setting just outside of town and close enough to everything. This is our second time here and it was just as nice as the first time in the summer.

Accommodating staff even when we were running late

We had a great stay at Glenview Cottages. Our two bedroom cottage was spacious and the beds, linens and pillows were SO comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning. Nice easy hiking to Big Pine etc, and very kind lady at check in who helped us with an issue of our own that we had. Would stay again for sure!

Overall, had a great stay. Cabin was cute and had everything we needed. I thought I booked a pet friendly room, but I found out at check in that it wasn’t. We were still able to stay but had some modifications. Staff was helpful and friendly.

We arrived late for check in. In front desk he make sure everything is ready by early morning with keys and map to reach the cottage.

Was greeted by friendly polite desk people who explained all the workings of the property to my satisfaction.

I like to stay here. It is out of the City but close enough to everything. The Staff are very nice. The Cottages are old and need some love but, the Owners are fixing them and the Property up. I admire the efforts of them. I will definitely stay here again.

It was comfortable enough for what it was. Our room wasn’t ready until about 45 minutes after check-in. The pool is great if you like cold plunges.

Very nice and close to town

Stayed one night at Glenview Cottages; overall had a positive experience. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front desk by a friendly man who guided us to our cottage and encouraged us to walk around the property. There are some great trails on the property, giving you 30-60 minutes of exercise/entertainment. Everyone on the property was friendly, our cottage itself was on the older side. Many reviews claim the highway is "too loud"; I strongly disagree with this claim. You are obviously very close to a major road leading out of Sault Ste Marie but with the trees lining the property it does not affect your ability to sleep at all. The carpet was not particularly clean, but all of the appliances and surfaces were spotless. The bed was a bit firm, and the AC did not reach the bedroom but overall it was a pleasant stay for one night.

The location is very good for visiting the Algoma area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cabin was clean and affordable.

Cabin was in fairly good condition. Duct tape keeping some floor boards down. Excellent location for our stay and close to nature

They gave us a package log for the fireplace, which we didn't use, and gave it back. The sink area was too small. The kitchen area was nice and clean.

A very lovely setting. All the things a person needs to make meals. Places to walk.

Clean , comfortable cabin. Found it a little light on ammenities if you were intending to do your own cooking. No plastic wrap or foil. Enough dishes for two for one meal.

Great alternative to a hotel. Kitchen and living room area. 2 private bedrooms. Good for a small group looking to share accommodations.

A bargain, really, considering I had a cabin to myself, including a fully functional kitchen, for less than a hotel room. Now the cabin isn't anything fancy or even charming, but everything in it worked--stove, fridge, microwave, TV, toaster, etc.--and in spite of being worn down--scuff marks on the walls, chipped paint on the doors and door hinges--I settled in and had a comfortable bed to sleep in and a hot shower. The receptionist honored my request for one of the quieter cabins (there are a couple dozen cabins, lined up along two roads, beyond which is a RV park) and when I had trouble working the lock on my door, another staff person came over within minutes to install a new lock. As others have noted in their reviews, the property is along a major thoroughfare, but I can attest to Cabin 110 being far enough from the road that I never heard the traffic. Also worth mentioning: the sauna and hot tub both worked well, there's a pool table in the front office (stripes beat solids when I played myself in a game of 8-ball), and the biggest pleasant surprise of all is The Big Pine hiking trail. I followed someone who'd walked it in snowshoes and packed down the snow well enough that I could walk in hiking boots. Beautiful pine trees covered in snow--as pretty a hike as I've taken in more remote areas. You get onto that trail and forget that there's civilization, a busy one at that, only a quarter or mile away. I recommend Glenview Cottages especially for cross county skiers.

It is comparable to hotels - but you get your own little kitchen to cook food with. And a separate bedroom for the kids. This cute little space was perfect for a camping trip while staying relatively close to a city.

Furnishings worn and stained. Bed was a double not a queen. Cottage next door took our parking space. Quiet at night however property near a gun range. Nice trail and pond in back of property, however water very low at this time. No walkable food options.

We booked the pet-friendly cabin for a one night stay on our trip doing the Lake Superior Circle Tour. We arrived late and they ensured our key was accessible and provided a site map. Cabin is dated and in need of some repairs. The on demand hot water tank doesn’t accommodate two showers back-to-back :( Great water pressure though. The bathroom area needed to be re-caulked as it was getting moldy. The cabin does have a full sized fridge and stove and some basic cooking items. Queen Bed was comfortable enough- the area was very quiet. As we were travelling thru, we did not utilize or explore any of the property. Location is right on Highway 17 - minutes at the edge of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario - so great access.
