The room was nice, spacious enough, with a fan that did the job at keeping you cool. Housekeeping came to clean the rooms every day, the toilet and shower were good and maintained! The staff were lovely and accommodating, very helpful and attentive to any questions we had. There is a supermarket a short bus ride away or a less than 5 min car drive- a bit too far to walk in the heat though. There isn’t really much around in terms of dining options so we made food our selves. The view is beautiful as the bungalows look straight out to the sea with a nice breeze blowing through, you can walk a little along the beach and the pool was nice and pretty clean. They have lots of dogs which are cute but did obviously bark some nights and they like to sit on the balconies with you. We had a lovely stay, super chill and relax enjoying the sun!

If you want or need "fancy", Punatea Village may dissappoint. But if you insist on charming, pleasant, beautiful, and inspiring, you'll love this place. It's a bit "out of the way", but then that's perhaps its best feature... except the staff. For example, the operating manager comes out early each morning to pick the perfect fruit (from many options) for the guest breakfasts. The setting is fantastic, the options for fun and adventure numerous, and since there are only ten guest rooms, you won't feel crowded. Experience the way Tahiti was when it earned its fabulous reputation: tranquil, relaxing, and endearing. That's why I won't visit the island without a stay at the Punatea Village.

It was a great view of the ocean. Sounds of waves crashing against the rocky shore. Nicely kept grounds. Comfortable bed. Yes, it is showing some age, but I didn't mind after paying 1/3 of what other beach resorts were asking. Great for the price.
