I traveled with my wife and two kids. The property is just in front of the beach and you are surrounded by jungle. The rooms are excellent, the staff is amazing and the food was delicious. It is very private and you can walk through amazing trails to nearby beaches. There is parking on site. Do consider driving a 4x4 so you can get all the way to the hotel as there is a short drive on sand before reaching the property. If not, no worries, you can leave your car in the hotel Sano Banano, and they will arrange a shuttle for you. I will definitely go back.

This was a short but sweet treat to one of the most beautiful coastline of Costa Rica. The staff was super friendly, everybody was helpful, accommodating, supportive, and the condition of the property as well as the food of the restaurant was very good. We traveled with our two year old toddler, and the stuff always was very kind and friendly with her while practicing for Spanish. The coastline is beautiful, we arrived after our weather event, so the ocean was rougher than normal. Despite that hiking around the beach, walking to town was easy and beautiful. We have a chance to visit nearby beaches, waterfalls river outlets in Cabo Blanco or within a 25 to 30 minute drive. For the most part, the roads were in good shape despite sections not having asphalt. There was not a lot of people around the area, which also made it quite pleasant. This hotel is a gem in the region and one that also supports the local community. Highly recommended and can’t say enough good things about the place. I guess the only two things that we would suggest is to come prepare for the mosquitoes, I’ll make sure you have good reef shoes as the rocks are pretty sharp as you walk along the different beaches. A suggestion for the hotel would be to provide a better map of the parking location and transportation from Montezuma. This is a slightly peaky comment, as the majority of people would have no problem getting there.

Outstanding stay and this small resort on the edge of the world. The drive from Liberia airport was a long one, but totally worth it to drive into the little village of Montezuma and into the jungle paradise of Ylang Ylang. Our room was right on the ocean. Going to sleep with the crash of the ocean waves outside our door. Beaches - mostly empty save the hermit crabs and occasional local dog. Staff - outstanding. Bed - comfortable. This is a slice of paradise. Highly recommended for those who don’t want to be surrounded by a hundred other people on vacation. Truly amazing

Very neat location back in the jungle - a bit of a walk from the main city center, but gorgeous beach access and darling bungalows. The food was ok- Spa service was overpriced for the treatment I received.

Ylang Ylang embodies Costa Rica’s motto - “Pura Vida!” The property is stunning - right on the ocean and surrounded by lush tropical trees, plants and flowers. It is clean, quiet and extremely well-maintained with meticulous attention to detail throughout. The restaurant has incredible fresh, delicious meals. The staff are amazing - warm, friendly and very welcoming. We loved our stay at Ylang Ylang and hope to be able to return one day.
