Two problems. 1. Only 2 elevators and one was out of service, so that made going to room a test of patience at high traffic times 2. Breakfast was very crowded and to be honest, not the best breakfast quality. Had similar offering at recent stay in Seattle but food quality was much better.

Great value for our family of 5. Room was spacious enough for two teenaged boys and a 10 year old and my husband and me. Convenient to popular tourist spots and lots of great dining spots. Staff was friendly. Work out facility was good and breakfast was tasty.

The hotel was great good and clean, i did not like the fact at this hotel and all alot of other ones make you pay to park was 59$ a night at this property,we stayed 3 nights and payed more to park then my bday dinner was at Mortons...I HATE PAYING TO PARK AT HOTELS THAT I PAY TO STAY IN

We liked almost everything about the hotel except that our check-in process wasn't great. We arrived 2 hours after check-in time and were told that our room wasn't ready. They said we needed to wait for 5 minutes in the lobby. It turned out to be more like 15 minutes. At no point. Did staff offer to compensate us for the inconvenience. Once that was over. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and bright. We were with a fairly easy walking distance of the miracle Mile and the Willis Tower to the West. We were just a couple of blocks from the river. The food was outstanding. The hotel has a restaurant called Emma and they make healthy and delicious Mediterranean food. One night for dinner we had an assortment of mezze. The breakfasts were excellent-- a large selection of food and everything fresh and well prepared.

Valet was easy & I was comfortable leaving my car with staff. The lobby is welcoming and has a great boho chic modern vibe! Staff were welcoming & quick to get us checked in. Our room was clean & had a sound machine to drown out city noise. Slept like a baby! Never heard a sound & we were on the 2nd floor across from the fire department! Free hot breakfast was delicious with plenty of seating.

The area is near our points of interest & have a lot of dining choices. Our room was right across fire station but the noise was tolerable. The bathtub, however, was clogged & water is backing up. Housekeeping should have noticed this if doing the cleaning properly. Also they skimped on giving body lotion.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant with a wonderful free breakfast. Only issues we had were that the sofa was stained in a major way (looked like bodily fluids that hadn’t been cleaned) and the fridge didn’t work properly (our perishables perished). Staff were wonderful and super helpful. Appreciated the baggage check offered by Jessie and questions answered by Kate.

Overall a very nice and quiet hotel near a variety of food restaurants. Only dislike was slow water pressure when showering and the ice bucket had an old rotten orange in it. Otherwise I would book this hotel again.

When i lifted the sheets there was dried blood stains on the bed sheets. Meaning the cleaning staff did not change the sheet from the previous group staying. When complained about the bed we did get new sheets for the bed immediately.

Bathroom was used and not cleaned when I got the room. They charged me for early checkin. They did not even offer an upgrade. I had to clean the WC to use it. Bedspread was crinkled. Not expected when I am paying such high charges for the room. Expedia should take them off their list.

The hotel staff was very nice. The hotel breakfast was much better than most breakfasts that come free with the room. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The view from our 10th story room was great with a view of the Sears tower and many other impressive buildings. There is a fire station across the street that is very loud when you are outside and you can also hear it when you are inside. We were walking a lot and slept well. We had no problems sleeping through it even though some of us can be sensitive to that sort of thing. One change I would make is the bathroom door. It is glass. You cannot see through it but it doesn’t block light or sound. So if someone goes to the bathroom in the night it lights up the room. Again we were tired and it didn’t cause much of a problem. It was nice to have a sofa in the room but we found the sofa bed too uncomfortable to use. Overall would recommend to others.

Overall the hotel is OK. Staff are great, very nice, answered all my questions. The room itself is very outdated. The couch we had in our room was old and seemed broken. The closet squeaked a lot and had a weird smell. I personally would not stay here again because of the outdated room and there was barely any lighting.

The front staff was extremely helpful and polite. They made you feel appreciated and valued. The 2 staff members on Saturday 3/23/25 were absolutely amazing. They took time to speak with me about questions i asked. I will definitely be staying here again.

Not willing to cancel room reservation due to severe Chicago snow storm forcing me to leave town early. They don’t care if you use Hyatt again. I used hotel.com for the reservation and hotel.com was willing to agree to full or partial reservation, but when they called the Hyatt they refused and probably sold my empty room for a premium to others during a snowstorm.

Check in was awesome- Kenya was especially friendly. HUGE breakfast was a pleasant surprise, and delicious:) Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was elevator- only 2 and long(ish) wait- just stay on a low floor!

Very conveniently places to all key locations. As it’s in the middle of all the huddle and bustle it’s a great location to be in but can get noisy during night. The hotel provides you with a distractor (white noise) which works well in the rooms.

I loved my stay at the Hyatt Place Chicago River North. It was very clean and the staff was amazing. The hotel is conveniently located in Downtown close to great restaurants and shopping!

Really great hotel located near several restaurants and blocks from the magnificent mile. The staff were super kind,m and the ambience was really nice. Rhe room was okay yet clean. The only downside about this hotel is that it is directly across the street from a very active fire station. Our room came with a noise counseling machine and earplugs. That is what I mean by very active fire station.

The location is great, walking distance to many dinning options and to many attractions in Chicago, overall is a great choice, the only thing that can be improved is the complimentary breakfast, which is terrible, other than that everything was great!

Two problems. 1. Only 2 elevators and one was out of service, so that made going to room a test of patience at high traffic times 2. Breakfast was very crowded and to be honest, not the best breakfast quality. Had similar offering at recent stay in Seattle but food quality was much better.

We liked almost everything about the hotel except that our check-in process wasn't great. We arrived 2 hours after check-in time and were told that our room wasn't ready. They said we needed to wait for 5 minutes in the lobby. It turned out to be more like 15 minutes. At no point. Did staff offer to compensate us for the inconvenience. Once that was over. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and bright. We were with a fairly easy walking distance of the miracle Mile and the Willis Tower to the West. We were just a couple of blocks from the river. The food was outstanding. The hotel has a restaurant called Emma and they make healthy and delicious Mediterranean food. One night for dinner we had an assortment of mezze. The breakfasts were excellent-- a large selection of food and everything fresh and well prepared.

Everything was perfect. Staff was very nice, super convenient for Ubers, and it’s close to almost everything. Breakfast was disappointing, though. I read a lot of positive reviews about it, but it was almost the same every day. However, it’s good considering that it is included.

We heard very little noise outside the window despite being right in the city- a few sirens but nothing that kept us up at night. They include a sound machine, which is nice-we had brought our own. Bummed the bar downstairs didn't have beer on tap, but glad there was a bar. Lobby area was nice, sat there a few times having a drink or planning our day. The only downside was we didn't do the free breakfast. The line was ridiculously long and there was no seating in the dinning area anyway. That said, it was a holiday so it wasn't super surprising, people love their freebies. Just on the corner was Beatrix, which was great for breakfast. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay River North.

I had a terrible, terrible experience at this property. I show up at this hotel late evening (post dinner). The front desk staff pretty much said they dont have a room since there is some water leak. He said he will be moving me to a hotel next door. I immediately protested saying I had booked at the Hyatt River North - and dont want to stay in the next door hotel. The front desk person said I either have the choice to move to the hotel next door or I can go figure out myself where to stay. His verbatim response - "atleast you are not left on the streets figuring out where to go". He almost made it sound he was doing me a favor. I moved to hotel next door and was given a room there. When I asked their front deck what was going on, his response was: "I am not sure. We were told to accomodate you and we are doing just that. They must have overbooked". Just imagine! I reserve well in advance only to know Hyatt had probably overbooked. Anyway - made my peace and settled down for the night. Could not do much since it was already late and I had an early start. The next morning - I wanted to register a complaint at the Hyatt front desk and walk up to them. There was a new lady now at the front desk and her unapologetic response was - "sorry, we could not accomodate since your room had an AC problem. And this is fairly common in the hotels industry". A new reason now! Terrible experience. Not staying in Hyatt and mostly not booking through Hotels.com anymore. Insulting!!!
