Easy to locate from M42. Conveniently to the village for food and exploration especially if interested in history. We only wanted a room for a pre early departure from Birmingham airport which was a 15 minute drive away and will consider doing so again. It was a very hot night so a fan had been provide. On the landing was a fridge, toiletries and extra tea & coffee etc.

There’s room for 4 cars directly outside the property but as it’s in a nice residential area there was safe parking very close too. We only saw the staff briefly on arrival but she was very friendly and helpful. Good size clean room. Great location for us to go to the NEC. Lots of lovely places to eat in close walking proximity.

We stayed for two nights with our grandson, had all the facilities we needed in our room and a local Toby carvery walking distance away for a quick and easy breakfast before we went out for the day. Room was comfortable, clean and welcoming, tea and coffee facilities available. Grandson enjoyed the party lights around the bath!! No issues with parking. Would definitely recommend.

Easy walking access to shops, cafes and restaurants in lovely neighbourhood. My only negative would be that the microwave had old food on the glass rotating plate - this may have been left by a previous user between cleans. great to have access to fridge and microwave. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

I had a lovely 2 night stay here, the owner couldn't do enough to ensure I had a lovely comfortable stay. The room was well furnished and clean. The kingsize bed and pillows were soft and very comfortable. Loved the disco lights bath feature! Towels, toiletries and kettle facilities all provided with easy access to extras if required. Also bonus use of fridge and microwave on the landing if required. Great guides for local facilities and recommendations on food places and things to do. The village itself was lovely and quiet. Fish and chip shop - brilliant food! 15 minute drive to NEC so ideal for what I needed and will be back again.

Great location for the NEC and eating out in the evening but the room was in poor condition. The bathroom window doesn’t close and there’s no heating in the bathroom. The bathroom door only closes from the inside. We arrived at 7pm on a chilly day and the heating hadn’t been on nor could we put it on so it was cold. We were awoken at 5am by people walking about overhead. But the beds were comfortable.

Stay was OK but room was a bit tired, cup place mat cracked, mould in corner of shower and on wall and only partial hand rail on the stairs. Although sign outside Hotel said Bed and Breakfast there was no breakfast available. However lady host welcoming, carried my case upstairs and put fan heater in room as the room was cold. I would stay again but only if it remains significantly cheaper than Premier Inn.

Check in was a slip of paper with my name telling me the key was in the door. The entrance was really shabby but the room was ok, but does smell of damp. As a place to sleep before an early flight, the location was good for the airport. Felt expensive for the standard. Wouldn’t stay again.

Arrived late and left early, so really only slept there but had a very good nights sleep. We were welcomed, the room was lovely and clean, and quiet, and the bed very comfortable. It’s a shame we didn’t have a chance to experience the facilities, but perhaps next time when we have more time.

Knowle is a lovely town with some great pubs and restaurants, the host was friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the room was clean and had everything we needed, beds very comfy. We could hear other guests in nearby rooms but it didn't bother us too much. The front door and entrance was very worn and didn't create the best first impression, but it wasn't expensive so we didn't mind. This town is really handy for the NEC and airport if you have a car, it saved us going into the City for food in the evenings.

The lady running it was really nice and chatty and she cooked us a lovely full english breakfast, at an extra cost, which we didn't mind paying for. The stairs to our room were hazardous as there was no bannister & the last 2 stairs were a bit rickery. The room looked lovely, nice decor & lovely big tv on the wall and a nice sized bathroom. However, it was so hot in there as the sun beated through the big windows and it didn't cool down overnight. The bed was really low and very uncomfortable, like being on a huge marshmallow, so we hardly slept. It was, however, lovely & quiet and a really good location.

I did not expect the room to be so beautiful in a guest house. It looks better than many five stars hotel. I didn’t have a chance to meet the host as I checked in real late. But I was greeted with a very personal and friendly note. Felt welcome. Will stay again.

I arrived at the property very late as my flight had been delayed. I had been told that it would not be a problem to check in. I found a note with instructions which was thoughtful and helpful. The bed was soft and comfy, my room spacious and clean , it had an ensuite bathroom with a nice bath. My room was quite and spacious. Thank you for the noce experience.

We stayed at Achill Guest House for one night before starting a canal boat trip from Alvechurch Marina. We appreciated that it is a family-run guest house with a funky charm one doesn’t find in a chain hotel, even if the walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbors a little bit. Bed on the soft side but still slept well. Good location very close to a charming high street with Tudor era buildings, a pretty parish church and dining and breakfasting options (the bakery is fabulous). Very friendly and helpful owner.

I did not expect the room to be so beautiful in a guest house. It looks better than many five stars hotel. I didn’t have a chance to meet the host as I checked in real late. But I was greeted with a very personal and friendly note. Felt welcome. Will stay again.

Very handy place to stay for our two-day event at the NEC. Friendly and helpful owner and very comfortable beds. The village is picturesque and has a good range of restaurants and pubs. We'll hopefully be able to get a room here next time we're in the Birmingham area.

I arrived very late due to having a blow out on the motorway and the proprietor was very good when I let her know. The room was excellent, with the amenities I needed for a one night stopover on the way to a business meeting. I didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment here. Likewise, I’m unable to say anything about eco-friendliness.

I had a lovely 2 night stay here, the owner couldn't do enough to ensure I had a lovely comfortable stay. The room was well furnished and clean. The kingsize bed and pillows were soft and very comfortable. Loved the disco lights bath feature! Towels, toiletries and kettle facilities all provided with easy access to extras if required. Also bonus use of fridge and microwave on the landing if required. Great guides for local facilities and recommendations on food places and things to do. The village itself was lovely and quiet. Fish and chip shop - brilliant food! 15 minute drive to NEC so ideal for what I needed and will be back again.

Easy to locate from M42. Conveniently to the village for food and exploration especially if interested in history. We only wanted a room for a pre early departure from Birmingham airport which was a 15 minute drive away and will consider doing so again. It was a very hot night so a fan had been provide. On the landing was a fridge, toiletries and extra tea & coffee etc.

There’s room for 4 cars directly outside the property but as it’s in a nice residential area there was safe parking very close too. We only saw the staff briefly on arrival but she was very friendly and helpful. Good size clean room. Great location for us to go to the NEC. Lots of lovely places to eat in close walking proximity.

Stayed for one night as travelling to Birmingham airport early morning. Good price and location to facilitate the early morning air port journey. The host was really nice and welcoming. Family room was clean and everything we needed for a nights stay.

Check in was a slip of paper with my name telling me the key was in the door. The entrance was really shabby but the room was ok, but does smell of damp. As a place to sleep before an early flight, the location was good for the airport. Felt expensive for the standard. Wouldn’t stay again.

Knowle is a lovely town with some great pubs and restaurants, the host was friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the room was clean and had everything we needed, beds very comfy. We could hear other guests in nearby rooms but it didn't bother us too much. The front door and entrance was very worn and didn't create the best first impression, but it wasn't expensive so we didn't mind. This town is really handy for the NEC and airport if you have a car, it saved us going into the City for food in the evenings.
Knowle is a lovely town with some great pubs and restaurants, the host was friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the room was clean and had everything we needed, beds very comfy. Stay was OK but room was a bit tired, cup place mat cracked, mould in corner of shower and on wall and only partial hand rail on the stairs. Although sign outside Hotel said Bed and Breakfast there was no breakfast available. However lady host welcoming, carried my case upstairs and put fan heater in room as the room was cold. I would stay again but only if it remains significantly cheaper than Premier Inn.

We stayed for two nights with our grandson, had all the facilities we needed in our room and a local Toby carvery walking distance away for a quick and easy breakfast before we went out for the day. Room was comfortable, clean and welcoming, tea and coffee facilities available. Grandson enjoyed the party lights around the bath!! No issues with parking. Would definitely recommend.

The lady running it was really nice and chatty and she cooked us a lovely full english breakfast, at an extra cost, which we didn't mind paying for. The stairs to our room were hazardous as there was no bannister & the last 2 stairs were a bit rickery. The room looked lovely, nice decor & lovely big tv on the wall and a nice sized bathroom. However, it was so hot in there as the sun beated through the big windows and it didn't cool down overnight. The bed was really low and very uncomfortable, like being on a huge marshmallow, so we hardly slept. It was, however, lovely & quiet and a really good location.

We stayed at Achill Guest House for one night before starting a canal boat trip from Alvechurch Marina. We appreciated that it is a family-run guest house with a funky charm one doesn’t find in a chain hotel, even if the walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbors a little bit. Bed on the soft side but still slept well. Good location very close to a charming high street with Tudor era buildings, a pretty parish church and dining and breakfasting options (the bakery is fabulous). Very friendly and helpful owner.

I wasn't expecting this much nice place it would be. From parking check in and check out everything was smooth. They have kept everything in need for the travellers. Kitchen utensils appliances. I really enjoyed would recommend everyone. Also the area is nice and peaceful yet you can walk to high street with in 2 minutes

The lady that owns this property is the nicest person ever so I do feel a bit bad writing this. The property needs a lot of TLC. However the bed was very comfy and the shower great, we were never planning on staying in our room and the location for us was perfect.

Nice enough, clean and cosy with everything you could ask for, for the good value price and extremely convenient for the motorway and the NEC plus the village had lots and lots of options for food and drink in easy walking distance. Property was easy to find and easy to park, was also nice and lovely and quiet (aside from one of the other guests setting off the fire alarm in the middle of the night smoking in their room when they shouldn't have!) Would definitely stay here again for the NEC.

The room and towels had a terrible smell. Spider webs everywhere and the bed was broken on one side. No blackout curtains. Close to good restaurants and helpful guidebook in the room. Nice teas
