Kew Studios and Rooms

This is an affordable place to stay in a cute neighborhood with friendly hosts. The free onsite parking, however, turned out to be street parking a block away. Also, despite my messages and phone calls in advance to find out about parking and wheelchair access, we never got a response. When we arrived in person, they were quite lovely. This property is next to a mostly quiet tram track. All in all, we slept well and were comfortable.

Went on holiday for a couple weeks in the UK. This was my favorite room that I rented due to the kind owner and the amenities. The room had a Microwave & Refrigerator/freezer, which is something that all of the other hotel rooms I rented lacked. The neighborhood was nice and it was pleasant able to walk to the grocery store, restaurants, train station and Kew Gardens/Palace. I felt safe walking around even when it started to get dark. The room was very affordable too in comparison to the nearby hotel. Very pleasant experience! Highly Recommended!

Great studio in a perfect location for Kew Tube station (district line) and Kew Gardens. The kitchen even included a dishwasher!

Very easy to find, parking no problem. The room was clean and had all the basics needed. Great location. Would stay again!

Great location being so close to the tube. Easy to find parking after 12 Monday to Friday and no restrictions at weekends. Good cooking facilities and toiletries supplied Only negative is being so close to the noise of trains late at night. Ideal for one night though

Good location. kept clean. Property is so old it needs improvements. Appliances need replacement. New paint and mending or even replacement of wood trims can add appropriate appearance. from day one in our stay there was lack of heating. This should had been taken care of prior to our arrival

Comfortable modern and clean. Very convenient for our daughter’s house nearby. Full Self catering equipment including dishwasher. As it was weekend parking was easy as residential permits only Monday to Friday. Outside it looks like a work in progress but our room was good. Warm duvet and plenty of hot water. We will probably book again as our daughter does not have a spare room

Check in seamless and a nice secure, comfortable stay. Able to park safely and great selection of eateries (Lebanese, Asian, fish and chips) a 2 min walk up the road.

This place has some wonderful aspects. The first is that you will never have to wonder if you have missed your underground train. That's because it isn't underground and is actually running about 20 yards behind your back window! That means you never have to worry if you have missed it because you will be able to see it and hear it! This will continue up till 2:30 at night when you can happily say," I didn't want to be on that train anyway!" And if you are the person with, do it yourself capacity, you will be intrigued by the numerous possibilities of improvements in the room. You can be happily employed thinking about how you could actually fix the bathroom door so that it actually stays shut! Or how to repair the broken flooring that has been covered up cleverly by an armchair? So that's the good stuff. They not so good stuff is that the room is very small so that it's hard to be in the room with an open suitcase anywhere except on the bed. That of course makes sleeping difficult! Also, the people who rent the room say that it is set up for self-catering. However, there are only two saucepans and absolutely no kitchen utensils. That means that if you actually want to cut something you have to bring your own knife or use one of the butter knives that is duller than Queen Camellia. This place is absolutely not worth it. The money and should be avoided at all costs unless rain prevents you from sleeping on the park bench.

Geoffrey went above & beyond in Accommodating us, even moving his own car to free up an on site parking space. Our room was good overall, clean & functional, I’d recommend Kew Rooms - certainly for the price, we will return 👍

The property was not as portrayed. Bathroom had no shower curtain. Water damage at the base of the tub. Water stains on the ceiling and walls. Blinds were damaged and the other window covering was frayed. I would not recommend.

The location was excellent in that it was close to Kew Gardens and the Kew Gardens Station was a 5 minute walk,however what the online information didnt mention was that the railway liine was literslly 12 feet from the rear of the accomadation,so from about 6 am the passing trains noise was every 5 minutes.Yet that was surpassed by the noise coming from the above accommodation, as the walls and floors were so thin,that there appeared to be a herd of elephants up there. The room was booked for 4,but only 3 of us stayed luckily,as if we used the fourth fold out bed,there would have been about 2 foot of floorspace left. The room itself was a bit grubby and dusty with a smell of drains,and cat urine from the adjacent yard.There were no windows only a front and back door,so it was hot at night when we obviously had to shut the doors.There were several maintenence issues :shower mounting and door broken,bathroom tiles cracked,kitchen sink tap loose,and although the shower was ok,the hot water to the bathroom and kitchen sinks was lukewarm.It was most definately overpriced,and we wouldnt stay here again.

Had an excellent stay at Kew Studios and Rooms. The hotel was easy to find. close to the Kew Gardens metro station, and the staff were attentive and able to direct me to my room quickly and efficiently. The room was a good size and had a comfortable bed, a television, kettle with tea and coffee, and heaters that weren't required. The washroom next door was spacious and quite clean, the shower worked well. All in all excellent value for money and I would definitiely stay there again..

Didn’t even open our cases and couldn’t wait to get out of there. The bathroom was moldy and smelt really really bad. There was wallpaper peeling off the wall shabby mattress and broken heaters. The room felt unloved and grotty. We were met by the owner who gave us no welcome or even any eye contact. The whole place felt like it was there to make as much money with as little effort as possible. We were looking forward to having a nice place to stay but it was a massive overpriced disappointment.

Last minute accommodation choice after our original accommodations fell through. Clean comfortable and quiet in a wonderful safe neighbourhood next to Kew Gardens and an insta-viral Kew Station coffee shops! We were married on the Leap Year and will fondly remember Kew Studios and Rooms!

Functional, clean accommodation in an excellent location.

We were very disappointed to find the room dirty and damaged. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and ended up staying one. We were refused a refund and couldn’t reach agreement that the standard of the room was not good enough. When I said the chairs were dirty and the sink had mould we were told it was probably just someone had spilled their coffee and the sink was just the seal that was dirty. The cupboard door in the kitchen was broken off and the kitchen drawer was missing. There was grime? on the wall that was supposed to be the bed head. Very frustrating because the rooms could have been great - location is amazing and the room would have been fine if it was clean. Do not recommend. The photos don’t reflect our experience.

This property is in a great location; walking distance from the train. We arrived slightly early , the room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our luggage which was a positive. However, the accommodation is basic, the beds in our room are due for renewal. The noise from the rail line starts very early and is very sleep disturbing.

What can I say, that no one else has already said! Room 3 very small, bed not particularly comfortable only one pillow each, shower gel and hand wash, coffee and tea facility and a fan, also a hair dryer, very basic and the kerb appeal needs attention, the hall way narrow and dead flowers in vases, floor needed a mop but ideal for some where to get your head down after Kew Gardens music!

Good location, nearby free road parking. However, the rooms are really dated The single glazed windows did not seal properly and cold wind and noise were coming through. The bathroom was really small and the tab faulty.

My husband stayed here with friends for a concert nearby. He said the room was clean but much smaller than it looked on the pictures. It was basic but they were only there one night so fine for their needs.

Unfortunately, I had no other choice due to a late booking. This is not a hotel—it's more like a house that's been converted into accommodation with several bedrooms. The check-in experience was not particularly welcoming. The room itself had no soundproofing at all—it felt as if the people in the corridor or in neighboring rooms were right there in my room. The blinds didn't fully close, and the noise from planes passing overhead was very loud (not owner's fault in that case, but this should be mentioned in the listing). One evening, I returned at the same time as the owner, who appeared to be heavily drunk. Later that same night, there was a loud and somewhat frightening argument between the intoxicated owners that lasted for at least two hours. Guests were visibly concerned and looked out of their windows to see what was going on. Would not recommend—best to avoid.

Room was available from 1400 we arrived at 1700 and was told last tenant did not return the key to our room so they could not gain access was told to come back in 30 minutes also there is a busy train line just outside the back window

Room was a little small in size for three people. But overall the experience was good.

Apartment was clean. Personnel was flexible and accommodating. Getting in contact by phone was not easy as multiple phone numbers were either no longer in service or gave no answer on arrival. Opening or closing room and house (front) door took some practice but we got it in the end.

Tried to contact the owners for 24 hours by land line phone, 3 mobile phone numbers, email, text and expedia messaging, no response before checkin. One mobile phone number didn’t connect and the others went to voicemail. Left several messages but no one replied. had no idea if anyone was going to be there to let us in. Unusually for me i hadn't checked the reviews beforehand. Wish i had. It was convenient for Kew gardens but that’s all i can say.

Staff(manager or owner?) was absolutelly amazing! We arrived early a bit the room was not ready for some reason, he is upgraded our quad room for a studio flat in same plot with better position, and possibilities. Our complimentary coffee, tea and fresh towels was always top up.

Geoff was excellent, accommodating, and everything was as I expected when I arrived based on the posting. I left some ear buds behind and when I called to track them down he answered promptly and returned to the property so I can retrieve them.

Rang the doorbell when we arrived, no answer and not much sign of movement (it was a ring doorbell), so called the mobile number on the door and had someone answer with 'yes I am on my way up '. Didn't put my clothes in the wardrobe as it was very wobbly to the point that the door didn't close. The entrance hall to the property looked grubby and uninviting. The positives were that the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee making facilities. This property could have been so much better with a bit of TLC.

Unfortunately when I stayed there was refurbishment going on so the kerb appeal was not great. I booked a double room and got upgraded to a studio which was a pleasant but welcome surprise. The studio was clean but lacked attention to detail with maintenance, for example light bulbs not working, bathroom door badly fitting, shower head holder broken. Guests need to be aware that the train line runs very close to the back of the studios with trains running frequently between 6am - midnight. All in all, the studio was adequate for my weekend stay
