D Sands Rentals

It was a nice get away. Hot tub was amazing, but the pool is NOT HEATED . So we unfortunately could not use it because it was freezing. This was one of the reasons we chose a hotel with a pool, this time of year to get a little more exercise.

We were not happy with our stay here. The room smelled like a smokers house and everything was overly used and needed to be replaced. It felt like nothing had been updated since 1970. The walls were peeling, the carpet very stained and there was hair hanging from the “fresh” towels and the bathtub also had hair in it. To top it all off, this trip was for my husbands birthday and we specifically picked this rental because of the hot tub amenity, and it was CLOSED, taped off with caution tape, and the pool was disgustingly dirty, appeared to have never been pressure washed to clear the scum from the sides. There was also a bed just hanging out in the parking atea and nothing about this place was inviting. Needless to say, we won’t be back and this room was so not worth the price paid.

Overall a good stay. Location is good, nice beach front. Parking is lacking, spaces to small leaving limited parking for full size SUV. Pool was closed more than open.

Fair priced accommodations for location. The on-site parking is terrible.

No elevator,steep stairs

The parking was under the Canopy was VERY tight. I drive a Subaru; barely able to pull in or out.

Pool or hot tub or BOTH were closed every time we tried to go. It was very frustrating to pay such high rent to have an inaccessible pool/hot tub.

It was really unfortunate that the pool and hot tub was not working. It was one of the main reasons we stayed for my small grandson to swim. He was really sad about it

I enjoyed my stay. The people around were friendly. I didnt know I had a 3 story hike up stairs and with my spine it was painfull. I didn't see where it said staires and I assumed there was an elevator . Thats on me not on them. I had a beautiful view and loved the private deck. I would stay again but on the 1 st floor. Lol

The ocean view was absolutely beautiful, it was so nice to have a patio to be able to sit out on and enjoy. One issue we had however was when we walked into our room it smelled like at one point it used to possibly be a smoking room. We were hoping to use the hot tub but unfortunately it was out of service but I understand that things happen. Overall it was a nice stay.

The condo was clean and well-appointed, and was right on the sands, perfect for enjoying the sounds and feel of the ocean, as well as people watching. The contactless check in and check out was easy.

We are 77 and 79. Climbing two flights of stairs, was extremely Challenging. I should have requested a ground floor. We were first directed to a wrong building for our room. We couldn't use the balcony, because it was filthy with bird droppings.

We stayed for three days and found the room to be fair at best. The room was not the cleanest and the balcony was covered in pigeon poo. The wifi was very poor. I was unable to connect remotely to my servers and had to use my cell phone data as an access point to do my business. I am unable to give a better recommendation and we will not be back. We have stayed at better places in the area.

I'll never stay there again. Kitchen floor very sticky we tried to clean it but couldn't get the sticky off. It was really disgusting. Kitchen poorly stocked. No tea kettle, no hot pads not much silverware and what was there was cheep.The only measuring cup was a one cup liquid cup no measuring spoons at all. Handle on the frying pan was broken.The floor slopes really bad because the corner of the building has settled. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom was nice with updated fixtures but the cabinet under the sink was beat up and broken and there was makeup on one of the washcloths. The window with the ocean view had dirt streaks all over it. The Murray bed won't fold up completely. No extra bedding/blankets glad I took my own. Furniture in the living room arranged so you can't see the ocean. We moved the couch so we could look at the ocean though the dirty window and found a spot on the back of it from being pushed against the heater. The bed was comfortable but there was a blood stain on the sheets. Had to call the office because we lost hot water. They got on it quickly and it was taken care of in under an hour.

Very clean. Feels like home. Quite cozy place. We are enjoyed staying there.

The room smelled of stale old cigarettes smoke and was unclean. Hair all over the bathroom and bathtub wouldn’t drain. Great ocean view tho. But pretty stinky and gross. Carpet was sticky to walk on.

I am so glad we booked our stay at D Sands Rentals before reading the horrible reviews or we would have missed out on a wonderful room right off of the beach with a gorgeous view. Our room was the perfect beach retreat; clean dishes and surface areas, along with comfy and tidy living spaces. You can tell the owners of this rental take pride in providing a happy place at the beach for others to enjoy. There were photos of them and their family on the walls with a great beach theme running throughout. We will definitely be back!

Very disappointed in our stay. We have stayed at D Sands many times but not for a few years and boy has it gon down hill. The door lock code literally did not work until 4:00 pm. We arrived 8 minutes early and had to sit in our car. We did go to the front desk because we had to use the restroom to see about getting in the room. The answer was no and we had to use the restroom in the pool area. Upon arrival in our room we were surprised to find a dirty room. Food and dirt on floor, hair on the floor in the bathroom, dusty...just dirty. I always bring clorex wipes just as a sanitary precaution (just in case)...amen, because we used the entire pack. We sweep all the floors and vacuumed. We did send a message and 50% of the cleaning fee was credited back to us. My family and i did not walk in the room with our bare feet. The kitchen floor was so sticky and dirty that i finally got on my hands and knees and scrubbed it with the sponge. I did not scrub the whole floor, i left a strip so they could see how dirty it was. This room has not been really cleanned in a very long time. The carpet was very stained and dirty. It either needs a really good shampooing or just replace. We did call around trying to find another place to stay but could not find a place so our choice......stay and keep cleaning or go home. Very sad. This is such a great location but some major cleaning needs to occur. I would double think before ever going back to D Sands. Again, very sad.

Room was comfortable and the view was great definitely needs upgrades seams like a work in progress kind of room holes in wall from the rocker chair need patched and painted the tub had hair and was patched with some kind of spackle from a previous crack the furniture is older but functional would recommend more pictures in the room to make it feel more welcoming but over all we enjoyed our stay and would like to come back in the future

The rooms are all individually owned, so each are decorated, furnished, and maintained by each owner. So that makes the D Sands a bit of a crap shoot. The room I stayed in was dated, run down, tired, and the oven/stove didn't work. I only found this out the hard way when we chose to buy groceries one night and cook a meal instead of going out. Much to my dismay, the management company had no maintenance person on staff, and all that could be done was to compensate me for my grocery bill. I had prepared raw chicken breasts stuffed with cream cheese & mushrooms wrapped in bacon. So compensation of my grocery bill, although a nice gesture, was not going to help me and my party to eat that night. I went down to the hot tub where my husband said there were lots of people and begged for someone to allow me to use their oven. One very nice man said he would ask his wife if I could use their oven, and she said yes. I was immediately struck by how nicely decorated, clean, and newly renovated their room was compared to mine. More importantly the oven worked brilliantly. This kind lady told me that her daughter had stayed at this hotel a few months prior and she also got a very tired, dirty and over priced room. Bottom line is this hotel is in a fabulous location with a spectacular view, but cross your fingers and hope you are lucky enough to get one of the nice rooms because I wasn't and it really put a damper on my stay.

This property is right on the ocean and is fabulous for watching and listening to the ocean, as well as walking on the beach. It has a separate bedroom which is nice, as well as a pull-out bed that is in the living room. The rooms are spacious, and the kitchen is adequately equipped. There is a nice pool and hot tub available for guests. The property is located near the Outlet Mall as well as several restaurants and stores. Very conveniently located and easy beach access. We did get some traffic noise so earplugs may be advisable for those who are sensitive to noise. The building is a little dated, but a great value for the price!

Everything so far is great. I just have one tiny suggestion. It would be nice if there were robe hangers in the bathroom or am over the door hanger with several hooks. The WIFI was not good for streaming. Every movie we tried to watch froze up or fast fwd. Overall the view was great, it was quiet, and clean and we did enjoy our stay and would come again. Great view in both condos we rented but awful beds.

It was mostly good. The tub needed repairs. The toilet moved when you sat on it the bed in the living room. The bedspread didn’t even fit it in the balcony didn’t look safe.

Great Ocean views but our room definitely needed some maintenance. The bathroom shower stall was in disrepair and drywall water damage in multiple areas in the unit... Couch was hard as a rock....beds are great, overall very roomy ...would recommend some routine maintenance

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly at D Sands Rentals in Lincoln City. The condo was spacious and we had a terrific ocean view from #117! Very comfortable bed and adequate kitchen supplies. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back!

Beach front, covered parking for certain units. The floor above ours was very squeaky but after everyone settled down it was better. We would recommend it.

Very nice when in the room by the ocean. Super clean. Sooo loud though. Thirty feet from Hwy 101 on the bedroom side. Very unpleasant outside the room, entrance side. Still, far cheapest option with kitchen and able to sleep an entire family. Excellent views.

I called this place couple days prior asking if the Jacuzzi and pool is working they said yeah no problem. We arrived there. The Jacuzzi is not working. They’re not planning on fixing it. I said there was one of the reasons why we came here stuff is OK and I hate the way they make you sound like you’re stupid when you ask a question The rest of the unit is pretty clean. A little old notice some units that shows on the pictures are much better quality than what it is in person. Another thing when I ordered it said upper unit we did not get the disappointing. Great location next to the beach though.

The motel is the Most Overpriced and the Rooms and Very Worn and Dirty. I definitely fell like I got ripped off. The Sunday staff was non existent. I called the office 3 times and NO one ever answered!! I’m going to ask for a partial refund.

Very friendly and very professional

We had a really nice stay at Dsands overall. The unit was spacious for what I would expect and it had a gorgeous view of the ocean. I had an issue signing the rental agreement (Expedia glitch), but which the property was able to resolve. The property was a bit short staffed for the holiday weekend, and I was not able to check into my unit until about 5:15. They made up for it with a later check out, but I still wish I would have been able to check in on time or even earlier if it had been available due to my tired toddler who needed a nap. It was easy to communicate with the property once I realized they text messaged. Overall an enjoyable stay and we would stay again, just not on a holiday weekend next time around.

This is the second time we've stayed at D Sands. It's a great location - beach access is perfect. Staff is helpful and very nice. It will always be my first choice for a place to stay in Lincoln City.

Oceanfront location with beautiful views and lighted surf were the highlight of our stay. No contact check-in was simple, and coded door locks made for a keyless entry with no need to keep track of a physical key or key card. Cable tv worked in the main room and bedroom with no issues, however a channel lineup would've been a plus. Beds were nice and firm and pillows were super soft. Our room (221) had a full kitchen with range, refrigerator, microwave, along with basic pots/pans, dishes, bowls, utensils, etc. Items supplied in kitchen were enough for us to cook our anniversary dinner. There was one hiccup during our stay, which was tended to quickly and efficiently for which we want to say Thank You! We were unable to use the pool or hot tub because of an emergency shut down, but hope to use it during a future visit. We will return again.

Check in was a breeze. Communication was fantastic! Thank you for a great stay.

At 230 in the morning the ceiling starting gushing water in the kitchen and in the bathroom water also started leaking water. Apparently someone fell asleep in the bathtub upstairs. I called the emergency number that was just an answering service. No one came out for an hour and a half and all I was given was towels. By 4 am the water had stopped I guess they woke the person up that was running the water and who had fell asleep. Horrible night and experience

We chose to stay at D Sands only because we were told that the Wifi was good and we would be able to work remotely while there. The Wifi had a firewall that wouldn't allow our VPN to connect. We contacted our IT guy and he suggested rebooting the system. We weren't able to do that ourselves and the front desk folks refused to do so. In fact, once we decided to leave because we couldn't work, they refused to refund any money - not even a partial refund. Our IT guy said that rebooting the system would have likely fixed our issue and we would have been able to stay for our visit. The television in the living room didn't work for the first or second night and we gave up for the third since we left due to the Wifi issues. The finish on the shower wall (paint maybe) was peeling off the wall. It is a rather old building which is fine but these finishes could be much better. There was a person smoking on the balcony below us and smoking isn't allowed at all. We texted and the front desk did take care of that. I think our biggest complaint is the unwillingness to reboot the wifi which would have likely fixed the problem and let's face it, if you have internet it needs to be rebooted once in a while. Oh, and there aren't elevators. We were in #319. We were okay but if you can't climb stairs with all your crap don't choose an upstairs location. You can ask for a ground floor if there is one available.

Loved being right on the beach. It’s an older building, but the unit we were in had updated appliances and was very cozy and clearly well taken care of. Great customer service. Kids loved pool and hot tub.

Parking is a little tight, but great property and unbeatable view with beach access. Will definitely be back next year!

We like it because it’s right on the ocean

My boys and I enjoyed our stay. Our room was perfect for us, and that view is absolutely gorgeous.

The view is top notch. Literally a 30 second walk to the beach. parking a bit tight. Lots of things nearby to shop and eat.

Great beach access. Great view of the water. Location great in the middle of town with acess to everything. Nice to have a kitchen to be able to stay in if we wanted to.

The location was excellent, the views amazing. The property is starting to show it's age but that's to be expected. The garbage can on the third floor was overflowing onto the floor with coffee grounds and food wrappers when we got there. It was left that way for two days and the seagulls made it a bigger mess.

Location has great access to the beach. Close to shopping. To close to Hwy 101.
