It wasn't very clean wasn't what we booked definitely not worth £220 for 2 nights stay there was no bar it's advertising it has one I'm glad we didn't have to pay for breakfast as not every much section water for the shower was very hot or freezing cold and not very helpful when asked about it. It's just a check in take your money and get on with it very unhappy would never return or recommend it to anyone.

Second time here in a few months. Me and my daughter absolutely love this place. The rooms are big and comfy, all the staff including the cleaners were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and a good mix of food. The lift wasnt working the first day we got there which was a struggle for me as im disabled but the lady at the desk reassured me it would be fixed and working soon and come the next day it was! I couldnt fault this hotel and we cant wait to come back next year for my daughters birthday! Thank you everyone

Hotel under refurbishment, I hope! Very sparse in appearance, I.e. no embellishment as in house plants, flowers, ornaments and few pictures on the walls. The hotel is Muslim owned and therefore alcohol free although you can byo this should be advertised on booking and that breakfast is available although not included in the room price. Not a problem cost wise but maybe should be mentioned at booking stage. Room clean, linen clean and bed comfortable so not unhappy with our stay. Entertainment could have made a bit more effort to not look like she’d just walked in off the street. Maybe Ascot room could have had a bit more ambiance.

The hotel was nice but it was a bit dated and needed a bit of tlc to the doors and walls. It was an all round lovely stay apart from the fire alarm going off at 1:30am and the breakfast was nice could maybe have had a few more options with what was there. The staff were helpful and friendly. But overall we had a lovely time and would come back again. For the price I didn’t expect anything more.

The Carlton is very well located on the seafront. The lobby and the staff were very welcoming, and the place looked very clean once we had got through the crowd of smokers at the front door. Parking was a real issue as the hotel uses the free parking spaces on the main road, so if it is busy you may struggle to find somewhere particularly at high season. We did manage to find a spot by just waiting. Our room was on the ground floor, even so there were lots of stairs so people with limited mobility may struggle. There is a lift to upper floors, but I did not see a wheelchair accessible entrance so you need to be able to cope with stairs. The hotel does need a facelift. There were marks on the walls and the carpets were faded, and (being nitpicky) the wall hadn't been painted behind the wardrobe which we did find pretty funny! Having said that the room was clean and comfortable, the power shower was excellent and we had a fairly decent nights sleep, except for the people talking directly outside the window most of the night then someone moving a large wheelie bin around at 6am! Slightly overpriced (even for high season) but would stay again if you want a comfortable place for a short stay.

The room was spacious and clean, but the carpet was falling apart, handles missing off some drawers and a draught made noises through the main door (this was fixed by us creating a draught excluder by rolling up a towel). The beds were comfortable. Room was a little bit dated. The lift in the hotel only held 2 people so it was often a challenge in being able to make it to and from our room on the second floor (I was in a cast so relied on the lift). Breakfast was ok. Amazing & lovely staff.

We only stayed at the hotel for one night with our dog and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival by the friendly staff. The room was clean and a nice size for the price. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with a nice shower. There was a little noise in the evening but that’s to be expected from the location but we had a great nights sleep and so did our dog. Parking outside the hotel was great and they were actually nice and wide spaces for once. We’d definitely stay at the hotel again.

Nothing good to say about this hotel. The fire alarm went off for 3 hours in the middle of the night. The rooms were tired and dusty and you can hear the floorboards creaking from the hallway and rooms above and around you. Avoid.

Staff were very friendly. However going off the photos, the room we had was in nowhere near the standard shown. We paid more for this hotel as it looked better than the others. Stains on carpets, wallpaper peeling off and the smell was bad. Toilet leaked badly overnight so they had it checked out for only to be told there was nothing wrong even though there was water all over the floor, but they would move us anyway. The second room was a lot better but still in need of some TLC. Perfect location for exploring Great Yarmouth and staff were very friendly. Had a lovely nights sleep and views were lovely if you had a front room.Parking is free (council owned)outside if u can get a space, otherwise i noticed paid parking was pricey.

Really enjoyed my stay the room had a nice out look and warm cosy and clean the shower is brilliant and had tea and coffee that really makes a nice stay lots to do in that area And cinema is fantastic i had a lovely time

Got a few bed bug bites had to go hospital when I got back home as got infected and put on antibiotics.Under the bed hasn’t been hoovered for months very dirty.

Horrible. It is a mouldy and stuffy room. Single room but looks like a cupboard. Windows facing the roof with lots of birds remains and other stuff. Horrible smell and bathroom incredibly dirty. Never again!

I've stayed here a while back so thought ok don't bother reading reviews etc. So check in was quick and efficient and the lobby and way to the room were clean. Got. To my room... Excellent all clean unpacked stuff has a shower (brilliant shower lovely) got out to get dry and i was like omg the building is on fire it was so hot I. Thought right investigate as the radiators were on. Omg they don't turn off either as the control thing is. Broke. Funnily enough I had the room. With the fire escape and I opened it and had to leave thay open to the road down the bottom of the stairs it cooled the room... Well let's out the major heat stroke inducing levels of heat lol and. Just to top it off and run salt in. The wound the Tv had no reception a redeeming factor is the wifi was superfast. I can't get over how uncomfortable I. Was and how unsafe I felt. I didn't wanna go tell reception Coz. There was a. Weird man roamimg the halls I. Saw him. Several times through the peep. Hole.....

I stayed here for 2 nights and wouldn't stay any longer. The rooms are so outdated it's unreal and the worst I've ever stayed at. First is the carpet in the hallways- It's so old and ripped that it needs a refurb. Also the floors are so creaky it's about to break. Second is the bathroom. The shower rail and the shower head are completely loose. Literally they are all hanging off the wall. Finally the TV cable. We did not have a TV due to the ethernet cable port being broken. I literally shocked myself by touching it because it's live. Oh yeah and the noise in the room was like your ears ringing because they have a hyfire unit in the rooms. The only good thing was being so close to the seafront and free parking but that's it really.

We had a lovely stay at the Carlton. It was well worth the money we spent, cheap and cheerful but clean and accommodating. Breakfast was average but again for what we paid there was more than plenty and good value. The room was beyond what I expected. Very large and spacious, modern and comfortable. Yes there were a few marks here and there but it’s a working hotel so you can kind of expect that. Other areas of the hotel was dated, corridors etc. but our room and reception area were lovely. I’d definitely recommend and return.

We stayed at The Carlton for one night. It was a good location for our day Horse Racing in Gt Yarmouth. Very friendly greeting on arrival, room with a sea view, good clean bedding and towels and tea and coffee making facilities. Bit noisy with road noise but okay. We didn’t have breakfast but looked like a nice hot buffet

We always stay at the hotel when in Great Yarmouth, a few times a year. Has everything u need for the perfect weekend. Always clean, staff helpful, (they moved us to a different room when we said it was far too hot) perfect price, along the seafront next to casino , perfect for us !! 10 mins walk to the shops .. you won’t regret staying here !!

The check in and welcome was the best we've ever experienced anywhere! It was such a massive surprise and so refreshing. We travelled with a dog and were instantly put at ease and made to feel welcome and like returning guests. We cannot praise this lovely lady enough! The hotel has fabulous character and it's of the era with tonnes of charm. If you want modern, soulless straight lines, go elsewhere. If you value history, character, charm and the warmth of an older property then this is certainly the place for you! The hotel is huge and as was our sea view room on the third floor. Yes, the room needed a few maintenance matters taking care of, but this is no way detracted from our stay. They've got their fire emergency procedures well planned and visible where it needs to be. Our only issue during the stay was someone being inconsiderate shouting on the corridor as they returned to their room. As a very fair priced hotel, I'd not hesitate to recommend and stay again!

Lovely hotel. We really loved our room and can’t wait to go back to same room. However, we didn’t like that the TV had no signal and no one bothered to sort the problem until day 3. Just after the sorted it, they can back again and took the booster away and we never had TB 4th say. It’s was so hard to get them solving such a small simple thing. Also no smile from staff. It was hard to translate what emotions they are giving.

Hotel was good probably needs updating but that'd be true about many seaside hotels. Staff were very friendly and from what we saw very inclusive to the types of guests they had which is very good. Breakfast was ok standard amongst most hotels I've stayed in, maybe they could tweek it a little as sausage's did feel a little cheap but on the whole a very nice place to stay in a good location on the seafront with very friendly staff. 8/10

We only stayed at the hotel for one night with our dog and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival by the friendly staff. The room was clean and a nice size for the price. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with a nice shower. There was a little noise in the evening but that’s to be expected from the location but we had a great nights sleep and so did our dog. Parking outside the hotel was great and they were actually nice and wide spaces for once. We’d definitely stay at the hotel again.

We stayed at The Carlton for one night. It was a good location for our day Horse Racing in Gt Yarmouth. Very friendly greeting on arrival, room with a sea view, good clean bedding and towels and tea and coffee making facilities. Bit noisy with road noise but okay. Hotel was comfortable and room very spacious. The food was good. Parts of the hotel are a little worn but had some nice period features. No alcohol in bar but allowed to take your own. Very central to holiday entertainment and activities. Would stay again.

The Carlton is very well located on the seafront. The lobby and the staff were very welcoming, and the place looked very clean once we had got through the crowd of smokers at the front door. Parking was a real issue as the hotel uses the free parking spaces on the main road, so if it is busy you may struggle to find somewhere particularly at high season. We did manage to find a spot by just waiting. Our room was on the ground floor, even so there were lots of stairs so people with limited mobility may struggle. There is a lift to upper floors, but I did not see a wheelchair accessible entrance so you need to be able to cope with stairs. The hotel does need a facelift. There were marks on the walls and the carpets were faded, and (being nitpicky) the wall hadn't been painted behind the wardrobe which we did find pretty funny! Having said that the room was clean and comfortable, the power shower was excellent and we had a fairly decent nights sleep, except for the people talking directly outside the window most of the night then someone moving a large wheelie bin around at 6am! Slightly overpriced (even for high season) but would stay again if you want a comfortable place for a short stay.

the Staff were very good. Nothing was too much trouble. They were very helpful and friendly. Everything you would need was catered for. The food was amazing plenty of choice. The building itself was a bit tired and dated but was very clean.

A pleasant stay in this wonderful old building set on the ‘Golden Mile’ in GY. Alright the room was a little tired it was very warm & the bed was very comfortable. The buffet style breakfast was very good. All in all it was a good stay & very good value for money. I’d happily recommend it & would stay there again.

This hotel looks and feel tired could do with a deep clean and some paint - the evening menu is recycled every 3 or 4 days so not much to look forward to if your dinner is included in your stay - luckily we were bed and breakfast and did manage to find some good restaurants for nighttime - there are no lunch options at this hotel at the moment

Liked all the extras like iron/fan/hairdryer. Liked having the desk/mirrors for getting ready. Lighting good and good storage. Paintwork/radiators needing touching up and pillows could do with changing/protectors. Breakfast very good

Extremely happy with this hotel. It exceeded my expectations, with the room being of a good standard, the breakfast and evening meal being a decent size and produce. No issues during my stay (long weekend) and the staff were friendly and professional. I would stay here again.

The hotel in general was a little dated but the room was very good and clean. Parking is first come first serve but includes the street to the right of the hotel. The breakfast was ok (not much selection) but was only £7.50. If i ever go back to Great Yarmouth again i wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

We had a lovely stay at the Carlton. It was well worth the money we spent, cheap and cheerful but clean and accommodating. Breakfast was average but again for what we paid there was more than plenty and good value. The room was beyond what I expected. Very large and spacious, modern and comfortable. Horrible. It is a mouldy and stuffy room. Single room but looks like a cupboard. Windows facing the roof with lots of birds remains and other stuff. Horrible smell and bathroom incredibly dirty. Never again!

Really enjoyed my stay the room had a nice out look and warm cosy and clean the shower is brilliant and had tea and coffee that really makes a nice stay lots to do in that area And cinema is fantastic i had a lovely time
