The Poacher Inn

Nice, quiet location with ample parking. Room could have done with a little TLC but was very comfortable. Food choice was excellent and well cooked. One thing to note was the very poor 5G signal in the area and no wi-fi offered at the location which made it hard for me to work.

The place and room seemed tired. The booking in was okay, showed to room, told about fire exit, basic stuff well communicated. In the bedroom, only one of the bedside lamps worked, there was also only one cup for a two person stay, and both cup and kettle were dusty. Kettle still had water in. The night of our stay the room was hot, no fans available on site, so had to sleep with windows open, not ideal with road noise. The en-suite was not clean enough, mould and limescale in the shower and toilet, also the extractor fan did not appear to work. Only one side of the lighting worked on the vanity mirror. Outside, the garden seating area needs attention, bench tables all had bird droppings on, the grass had not been mown. We ate an evening meal, this was the only thing that I can seriously commend upon, superb food 👌. Poor standard of cleanliness on the drinks glasses, one of the Coka-Cola glasses I was served was tacky and not good. Overall, except the food, it was just poor 😢 Eat out - yes 👍 Stay overnight - no 👎

Great night at the inn. Our room was at the back overlooking the beer garden. Was very quiet at the inn so no noise outside during evening. Sliding door if ensuite entrance needs some serious lubrication. Staff were super friendly and food was excellent
