City View Motel

Great ambiance with lots of outdoor sitting areas with umbrellas and old wine barrels. Looks fabulous. Room has a great lay out, clean and great staff. Coming back again next year!

Close to the highway but also very quiet, speedy check in, clean rooms, comfy beds, parking in front of your door, complimentary breakfast all at a fair price.

Highly recommend City View Inn!! We really enjoyed our stay here! We booked last minute, not expecting to be blown away by the cozy atmosphere this inn brilliantly created!! Our room was nice and clean. The staff are all very friendly! The real star of this place is their outdoor seating spots! It was nice to relax and look at the city view, especially at night! Might I mention this place is also very reasonably priced!! And they include a small complimentary breakfast in the lobby! (Coffee, tea, croissants, apples, granola bars, yogurt). Thanks city view inn for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

We stayed at this motel for 2 nights as it is conviently located between Toronto and Niagara Falls. We had one day at both places and it worked for us. Thismotel is family owned and it has it’s charm. The staff was supernice. Wifi, parking and breakfast included. Park outside your room, view over Burlington. Breakfast very simple, just cold dishes. The room was outdated. But area is safe and it worked for us

This place was great for what we needed! My daughter and I stayed here as an in-between Buffalo and Toronto stop for the Taylor Swift concert. Hotels in Toronto were way too expensive at that time, so we opted to stay here and take the GO train into Toronto. We stayed two nights. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when we needed it. Our room was very clean and the area is very quiet. Cute little complimentary breakfast with the breakfast basics - perfect selection if you’re not a huge breakfast person (which I’m not lol) It’s close to a lot of stores, restaurants, and the Burlington GO station.

Floors were sticky, fruit flies, shampoo and conditioner were used and left. Washroom very small, Pictures on the web site are very deceiving.

Needs improvement. Cleaning is lacking. My unit had garbage on the garbage bins and the smell wasn’t good. Breakfasts is non existent. Coffee machine was broken and only bananas available with a plate with 4 mini muffins. If you intend to have a proper breakfast forget this place!

I intentionally booked one of the cheapest motels in the area as I was staying for nearly 2 weeks and didn’t have the budget for anything more expensive. The lobby area is nice, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean upon arrival and cleaned daily when I was gone, but there weren’t many positives beyond that. The walls are certainly ou not insulated between the rooms so you can hear most things happening in the next room over. You can hear the shower and sink running in the next room over and when they flush the toilet it is quite loud (loud enough to wake me up when the person in the next room was getting ready at 5:30am). The carpeting was frayed around the edges so badly that the nail strips underneath are poking through. The wall by my air conditioner was pretty water damaged and just painted over. There was a large gap in the edge of door entering the room which during the spring was fine but it would certainly not be great during the winter or late fall. The bathroom was fairly recently redone with a standup shower but the curtain wasn’t long enough so when showering all the water would bounce off the shower floor go under the curtain and the bathroom floor would be completely soaked. They also informed me not to drink the water as they don’t trust it for drinking and all I drink is water so I had no go buy a few cases of water which isn’t a big deal but would have been nice to know beforehand. Apparently I’m only allowed 1500 characters and I’m at 1499 now.

The unit we used was brand new and amazing!

There was nothing appealing about this place. It was no where close to any amenities and as it was off the highway, it was horrific getting anywhere during rush hour traffic. No staffing after 9 PM. The entire facility was; -outdated -extremely inconvenient location -furnishings were shoddy and cheap -renovations and repairs looked like they were done in haste and with the cheapest materials -refrigerator did not work properly -AC made an irritating noise The photos the website is a complete misrepresentation of what guests will actually see when they arrive. Definitely not worth the price. Definitely will not recommend this place.

Cold room. No desk or chair in the room. No reception after 9 pm.

Room is nice, clean TV didn’t work. No cable and connection for Netflix wouldn’t work. When I discovered this the office was already closed Made for a annoying stay

My wife said it was dumpy but that it was nice that the bathroom was renovated.

The property was expected for a motel. The bed uncomfortable(was like sleeping on concrete) and the shower head fell off from the water pressure hitting my partner in the head.

The lobby was clean and modern. Set up like a wine tasting room. Lots of outside seating with view of city. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms desperately need to be upgraded.

The City View Inn is a mid-20th-century motel, up on the ridge, overlooking Hamilton. However, the people who are now running it have done a very nice job of making it shine. Service was excellent, and the room was fresh, smell-free and very, very clean. The bathroom was recently tiled with subway tiles, and was surprisingly nice, including a rain-fall shower head. The rooms are not especially sound-proof, so we did hear the neighbors a bit, but it did not bother our stay. Breakfast included coffee, fruit, various granola bars, croissants and a selection of cereals. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay for us. It is conveniently located close to many parks and attractions.

My experience with this motel was horrible. At almost 10pm, someone opened my locked door. Only after my spouse went to see how this was possible, the man apologized, and said he had the master key and was intending on going in the room next door. I contacted the motel through Expedia after approximately a week as my $200 deposit had not been refunded, and received no response. It has now been over 2 weeks and my deposit was not refunded, and my spouse contacted them on Thursday and was told my deposit was held due to the smell of marijuana and that a manager would contact him about this; it is now Saturday and still no contact. Marijuana is legal here and we smoked in the designated smoking areas which can be reviewed on the security systems. I will be contacting the BBB regarding this.

Check in counter closes at 10pm and opens at 8am. They don’t have anyone if you need help between 10pm to 8 am. Staff is unhelpful for everything. Breakfast starts at 8am which is another issue if you are there for work you wouldn’t be able to eat your breakfast at motel.

I appreciated the lovely Christmas decorations and the inspiring signs around the lobby. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. It was our second time staying there and a pleasure both times.

I think it was the owner i spoke with last night. My flight was delayed by 5 hours leaving Calgary, and their office closed at 10pm. We didn't land until 10:15pm. She was amazing the whole way through, stayed in contact, made sure i got to the hotel okay, and i found the key she left me. Because it was so late, she told me i was more than welcome to have a late checkout as well. Thank you so much for being so understanding and accommodating! I will definitely stay here again!

Great location, out of the way but still convenient. Wanted somewhere between Toronto and Niagara falls for an overnight layover and this was perfect. Staff was very nice, limited breakfast available. Near the highway so road noise is noticable but not a deal breaker at all.

Very close to Royal Botanical Garden - approx 13min walk to Rock Garden. Staff are nice. Facility & service are good for the price range. Would definitely consider this place again when im in Burlington.

Room was a little too warm when I checked in, so I fiddled with the A/C unit only to find a room thermostat under the TV later. TV didn't respond at first until I removed, then reinserted the remote batteries. Room was very clean except the A/C vent. Location is a little isolated on a hilltop, but within a short drive of things. RBG is a 3-minute drive. Personnel were efficient and friendly. Free continental breakfast.

Very nice room for the cost. It was a very hot day when we stayed and the ac unit turned on and off often which was a little distracting. Continental breakfast opened at 8 and was fine.

Place was clean and great price, the hot water in the shower was barely hot enough to shower with would be my complaint. Breakfast is real simple. Cereal apples, and croissants

The hotel looked a bit "tired" outside, but inside, the room was pleasant, perfectly fine, and well appointed. very comfortable room; actually quiet air conditioner, too. Great shower. I borrowed an iron from the front desk personnel to iron my shirt for the next day, but there was no ironing board available. breakfast started very late, so I completely missed that.

It wasn’t at all what was advertised in Hotel.ca. There was no A/C in the room, we couldn’t connect to the wifi. We couldn’t watch the tv because we couldn’t connect to the wifi. There was no plug for the bathtub. They were burning insence during breakfast. There was no sweetener for coffee. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

It's a 2 star facility for a reason. Breakfast is non-existent. The toilet "shrieks" when you flush it. Electric outlets are scarce. No in room coffee service. It is VERY close to the Botanic Gardens.
